Naan bread was stodgy and dense. It seemee like it was perhaps not cooked in a tandoor oven? Maybe a tawa or cooled in an oven? The vindaloo was poor. Really lacking flavour and forgetful. When I first tried around 9 months ago the food was much better. Maybe an off day?

The good point was that the curry was nice. Prices are high for a pub but given that the Madras was really good and onion bahji was nice, that was ok. The pub however is really rough. I was really shocked that after getting up and going outside for a cigarette, that the person sat next to me started eating my dinner... Literally within 5 seconds of me getting up. He was using my spoon to eat my food. Absolutely disgusting and something I have never experienced and would never expect to see anywhere.

Busy pub which gets very crowded and noisy when sports events are on. We went for the food, based on other reviews and enjoyed our curries so much we returned the following week. Very tasty curries - you can choose how mild or hot you want them and they are large servings and good value. Surroundings and service are functional but friendly.

Stayed here for the weekend at Thorpe park, as it's about five mins in a car or a half hr walk from the park, around £7-10 in a taxi, after check in (I'd required)at the public house once we'd returned from the park we were given the key and showed to our room(which you have to exit the pub via the back exit an walk round ) which was of a fair size and in a clean comfortable condition, although the rooms are above the pub it didn't really seem that loud altho you could hear it an the euros were on the telly, the pub itself had a very friendly feel, and we were made to feel welcome( not like walking into last chance saloon) and the room had all the usual amenities, Like I say it's in the village of Chertsey which itself is a nice quaint town and just a half hr train journey into central London, The food was at a very reasonable price o £5.99 for a chicken curry with popadom and rice plus a drink of your choice cooked by authentic on site Indian chef and tasted lush. The room price of £75 for the four of us was very reasonable too with a DBL and two singles in the room Would stay again if visiting the area

Visited whilst passing through Chertsey. Nice food, well worth the money. Slightly rough round the edges, could do with some investment. Broken door, walls not seen any paint for quite a while and a 1 star for the 'scores on the door' doesn't help. Wouldn't visit again, which is a shame as the food was good.

We were looking for a Sunday evening meal on a bank holiday weekend. We tried three different pubs which weren't serving food before someone suggested the Prince regent. From the outside the pub looks a bit seedy and inside it's covered with sports paraphernalia and tvs on sports channels but we ordered our dinners and hoped for the best. When the meals came were very impressed. Excellent quality food in large servings at amazingly cheap prices. My meal of thick ham,2 eggs, chips salad and coleslaw was only five pounds!I will deffinatw lynne return and have already recommended it to others.

Let me begin by saying that this review is purely about the food and service, I have not experienced a room here. Originally came here because we were looking for a cheap meal as we were staying local, walking in from the outside wasn't much to look at and didn't look particularly impressive, however me and my other half ordered 2 main meals and drinks for £11 between us. Me having a 12" pizza for just £3. The pizza itself was amazing, we were served in order 5 minutes (this was on a Sunday evening however) and it was delicious. Such good value for money. The restaurant area itself seemed rather small despite serving such good food!Overall, excellent value for money and brilliant service. 5 stars!

We live in Chertsey and to be honest we had tended to avoid this place for some time. We’ve recently learned that that was a mistake. We’ve popped in a few times now on a Sunday afternoon to have some food and all I can say is it is fantastic and excellent value for money. The mixed grill is something else, you can share a large between two hungry people and you will be satisfied. The curry’s are also excellent and can be spiced to your liking. It is definitively worth a visit for food or drinks or both.

Appearances may be deceptive but as soon as you cross the threshhold you will be pleasantly surprised. There is a comprehensive and resonably priced a la carte menu and the food is top quality. A special feature is the meal deals , a selection of various curries , burgers , pizzas and other dishes with a choice of any drink for £5.99. You can specify the strength of your curry and hot means hot. Food is freshly prepared and is of very high quality.A good feature is that the pub has a main sports bar area with large screen TV's and a good atmosphere where your meal can be served , there is also a dining room if you prefer a more quiet experience. The manager and staff are very friendly. We have been there several times and have never been disappointed.

So this review is accumulative of the last 6 visits I have made either for takeaway or dining in. Being of Indian origin, I can claim this is probably the best value indian meal you could getin the area. It is not one of those bangladeshi restaurant with same unknown dishes like balti, dhansak etc etc. I run away from places as soon as i see those words in the menu because the food is not cooked by indians, usually has the same base for every curry, and charge extortionate amount. Anyway this place is serving good hearty indian food at good price point. The quantity is uncompromised. £15 spend easily cater dinner for two and left overs. Yes the atmosphere is of a pub with three huge TVs, food posters everywhere and other clienteles may not be well dressed but dont let this put you off. Focus on the food and you will not be disappointed.

We had a curry, rump steak, belly pork, large mixed grill, steak baguette, spicy chips and a sausage and mash and no-one moaned about anything. The Galahad beer was OK, drinkable but that was it for real ale however the wine and Stowford Press cider worth a shot. Prices, well, cheap as chips very worth a visit and next time we are in Chertsey at a meal time I know where we will be going. Ambience leaves a bit to be desired but we weren't there to look at the décor. Oh and two free sausages for the dog!

I have lived in the area for 30 years and never been in the place. A friend visiting from Thailand wanted to watch football and this pub has sky, so we went there. Wow what a surprise this place is. On first impressions it looks like a bit of a rough pub with sky sports screens everywhere and not exactly the ambiance that you get at some other pubs in town. However if you can get past this the food is absolutely worth it and amazing value for money too. We normally have the indian food which is absolutely brilliant (lamb chops to be recommended) but also their pizzas are pretty darn good too and at only £2.99 each you can't go wrong. Recommended to us by a regular who drinks here we decided to give it a shot and book a twin room. Worst mistake i have made in a long time. At £60 its prices are similiar to that of a travelodge but the quality of the room was appalling. There was damp patches every where, dirty carpets in the room, i think the head board to my bed had just been pulled from a nearby skip, curtains were hanging up with only two or three rings, fronts missing off of drawers. Sure, we had a kettle but we had no tea bags no coffee no milk no sugar no cups and no spoons..... Pretty pointless putting the kettle there really. The shower head had certainly seen better days, it had more fur on it than on my dog! The bed was fairly comfy, old, well worn but still comfy and i was sleeping pretty well, that was however until someone decided to whip the Henry out and start hoovering at 5.15 in the morning!! The curry i ordered for my meal was nice I'll give it that but at £60 a night this place is massively over priced. If it was around £30-£40 a night you would know what to expect, a cheap burger room but at £60 a night, my advice would be to look elsewhere, even if this was the last resort, id consider saving my money and sleeping in the car!!

I was going to write "excellent value" but I think that would be under doing it vs, the food. The food is very good. The prices are very reasonable. The Indian food is to a high standard, my view is paying more to go to bengal dynasty would get you in some cases a better dish, in other cases not. Pizzas are excellent, absolutely miles better than the swan & a 1/3rd of the price. Not gourmet standard, but if you like simple pizzas like pepperoni, chicken tikka etc you'll not be disappointed. Being from the town I was well aware of the reputation that this pub has always had and when people were constantly going on about the new owners and how brilliant the food was, I was highly skeptical. Eventually I decided the bite the bullet and try it anyway as practically everyone I knew was raving about it. That was about a year ago and I can honestly say the curry is the best curry I have eaten ANYWHERE. All the ingredients are so fresh, the meat incredibly tender and rices so flavourful. I have tried numerous items from the menu and the food has always come out top trumps! You can eat in, or take away depending on your mood and if ordering Indian they will even ask on the level of spice you would like. The menu also includes other 'non-Indian' dishes such as burgers and breakfast. The ribs are phenomenal! My partner paid £7 to receive a giant plate filled with a giant rack of ribs that fell off the bone with a mountain of chips, as well as salad, onion rings & BBQ sauce. Bargain. They also have offers such as curry or burger and a pint for £5. Sonny (the manager) is so friendly and all of his team, including Miller who is a staple there. They've also recently put a pizza oven in the kitchen and although I haven't been to try them yet I've heard rave reviews! Don't pass this one up!
