Well, this place has quite the chilled out vibe going on, the staff are fabulous, you can tell everybody is committed to providing not only a superb service, but also a memorable Hospitality Experience. I loved their coffee and the Sticky Toffee Pudding with Double Cream was Off the Scale, Yes, you guessed it, I'm going back as soon as I can to road test their Lunches next week, ooh, I may have to perspone calorie counting next week, oh I most certainly feel that it'll be Worth it. Sweet 😇💜🙏👍😁💜😇

OMG the tomapork chop was fab. Ordered extra beans as love veg. The cheese soufflé delicious The mushroom and pistachios soufflé also amazing Good veggie options And great service

A cosy country pub where the food warms your soul, the drinks hit just right, and the staff treat you like family. Friendly, welcoming, and full of heart — even the kids felt like royalty. We didn’t just eat well, we felt well. We recommend.

Very lucky to have this pub on our doorstep. You’re also very lucky to have Clive as your ambassador Real shame that you got rid of Camden pale for neck oil, you stood out from the 100’s of others who sell Neck Oil. Bring it back please 😂😂

My friends and I had a lovely lunch here. The food was delicious, puddings an absolute must. We didn't feel hurried at all especially as we had lots of catching up too do. All staff very friendly and polite. We all would highly recommend and we most probably will be back.

It is one of our favourites as it is dog friendly and the food is always great. The french cuisine menu is amazing and the staff is warm and welcoming.

Stopped for a bite to eat at lunchtime and had one of the best steak sandwiches I’ve ever had. Lovely fresh bread and onion marmalade along with proper chunky chips made it rather memorable. Staff were friendly and attentive. A lovely spot to drop into if you are passing.

Stayed in the area for a couple of days & after dining here on the first evening we just had to return for our final night. The staff are super friendly & attentive. It’s dog friendly & has delicious vegan options. Pleasantly surprised at the quality & high standard. The flavours & attention to detail were fantastic. Highly recommended by the the 2 vegans & the carnivore. Just wish we lived closer.

The Barley Mow is a lovely pub that’s been tastefully decorated. On arrival we were made to feel welcome by the staff. The menu is extensive and the food was delicious. Well presented and brought out at the right time. The servers were very good and attentive throughout. Will definitely revisit.

We visited The Barley Mow near Windsor today, hoping to enjoy a casual bite to eat. From the outside, the pub looked charming and inviting – a classic country-style pub that caught our attention from the road. Given the positive online reviews, we expected a good experience. Unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations. To start with, the staff were friendly and professional, which we appreciated. However, the quality of the food was quite average and seriously overpriced. A standard burger cost almost £17, and we had to pay an extra £1.50 just to add cheese – making it more than £18 for a very ordinary burger . The burger didn’t feel freshly cooked, more like pre-prepared, and the portion size was underwhelming for the price. The fries were chunky but overcooked and greasy, and the portion was small — served in one of those tiny metal buckets that look better than they perform. To make things worse, even a simple soft drink (a lime soda) cost nearly £3, which is excessive compared to most pubs we’ve visited across the UK, where this would usually be around £0.5–£2. The atmosphere was also quite mixed. While the pub’s exterior gives off a quaint, country vibe, inside it felt more like a random dining space without much character. The overall vibe wasn’t particularly welcoming — a mix of locals and people constantly coming in and out to smoke, which was quite unpleasant while trying to enjoy a meal, especially when smoke drifted in every time the door opened. In short, we wouldn’t recommend The Barley Mow. It may look like a charming stop from the outside, but the food, pricing, and experience don’t match the expectations or the reviews. There are plenty of better-value pubs with much better food and atmosphere nearby – this one was a letdown.

Amazing staff paramedics within 4 minutes which was incredible and the paramedic that I would like to mention is C239 he was brilliant and Barry ( manager) Marie and brayden and etc staff were sticking to their job and responsibility and caring way above their duties and a good credit to the barley mow so thank you

Great Sunday roast, friendly staff, nice atmosphere

Went Saturday late afternoon. Dog friendly. Food very good and my dog and daughter had a wonderful time.

We had mains of mussels and chips, Hake with brown butter and caper sauce, chicken supreme. All mains were delicious. We chose to have lunch in the bar area as we like the view and atmosphere. We got the service charge and are happy to pay one for eating in the bar. However, you have to order your drinks and food from the bar - not really fair as paying the same service for those eating in the restaurant

My friends and I regularly meet at The Barley Mow, for a Lunch. We always get a friendly welcome, the service is excellent, food delicious, and varied menus at affordable prices. Good atmosphere, we always book another date as we leave.

Fabulous pub/restaurant! Went with 2 friends who were GF/DF intolerant and found not only the food to be excellent but the staff were as well. Very professional on GF/DF items on the menu and what could be substituted (recognising that they work in an open kitchen). We ordered: Sausages with mash and a mustard sauce Steak and chips Pork steak with chips (Chips substituted for dauphinois potato). The food was excellent and I will go back.

We came here for our anniversary dinner and even though there was the weekly quiz happening in the bar area, we could not hear any noise from it. The atmosphere was good and the food was exceptional. I had the fillet steak, which was superb. My wife had the roasted Cod fillet. My son had the sirloin and because we ordered two steaks there was a deal on that you could get a bottle of house wine and a few sauces free on the house. We opted for the house Malbec which was really good too. My wife has the trifle for desert and it was worth the recommendation by the waiter. The waiter was really attentive without being overbearing and all in all this was a great evening and I would highly recommend it for a special occasion.

Service was impeccable, the food was glorious, much much more than traditional pub grub, although they do have special offers - a burger and pint for £20, which had fancy toppings and looked tasty. The menu selection is just right and changes seasonally, everything we ate was cooked to perfection, kooked fabulous and was delicious. Portion sizes are good too, a real gem of a place!

Superb! Lovely food, great menu choice. Best element was the service. We were there on a busy Saturday lunch and the South African chap who served us was excellent.

My wife and sister in kawasaki went for lunch today. we were greeted by Jade and got us some drinks. we went to our table where Sumukh came and introduced himself to us and took our food order our food arrived and it was very good we ever looked after very well and I would recommend it .

We had a fab experience whilst dining. Waiter was perfect and food was top quality. Will be visiting again when visiting my daughter in Datchet 👍

We use the Barley Mow throughout the year and have always enjoyed the atmosphere and food. Our most recent visit was for the 50% off main course promotion in January. It certainly looks to be a success with the restaurant full, but we still managed to secure a table booking mid-afternoon for the evening. As always good food and great service.

Really great atmosphere and space. The staff are so friendly and really do their job well. They know the menu well, they know how to make it an experience. It’s a lovely place to dine, or to drink, sit back and relax. We had some great vegan and vegetarian food there. Really impressed with the quality of the staff service and food.

We were so excited to eat here, the menu looked divine. Each of us had an Amaretto Sour before choosing a Chilean red and Camden pale ale. The cocktail was fantastic. I’m normally dubious about cocktails in pubs but this was delicious. We shared the Guinea Fowl pastry to start, and had the steak and ale pie and Pheasant for mains. Presentation was great, unfortunately all the dishes were missing flavour. Maybe the chef was having an off day as family had raved about the food. We finished with a few Negronis, which were also excellent. We were still peckish so enjoyed a few packs of pork scratchings. It’s a lovely pub and I would definitely come back to enjoy the ambiance and drinks.

Great gastro pub, lovely ambience, excellent food and immaculate service, having been a few times in the last 3 months, delighted to have been recognised by the senior waiter.

We once again enjoyed an excellent lunch the food was extremely good. The staff really are very attentive with a special thank you to Eli who accommodated us with a table for a last minute booking. We would always recommend the establishment for the consistently good food & service at a reasonable price.

Had been for xmas lunch previously and was greatly looking forward to our return, unfortunately this time was very disappointing. The meal was not a patch on the last visit but the staff were excellent.

We went on a very busy day but the staff managed things really well and were friendly and helpful. Cocktails and mocktails were very welcome. Great roast dinners with all the trimmings, including a vegetarian option. Lovely desserts and was pleased to have the much mentioned pistachio soufflé. Will definitely return.

Very nice pub, didn't eat but had a few drinks, rather strangely they don't accept cash, a little pricey ( £6.20 per pint of Peroni ) so if spending the entire evening could get rather expensive but definitely worth popping in for a drink or two.

Mediocre food and doesn’t take cash! Staff were friendly though just a shame about the management, will be avoiding in the future.

Excellent food, presentation & service.

Friendly service and good food however just not enough of it. The portion sizes of the meals we chose were very small this includes main courses (just a big space- not even a side salad- looked like a child portion- in fact the children nearby had bigger portions) and deserts. We ordered extra chips to compensate for this but we have still left hungry. The desert was beautifully presented but the amount was minimal by the time you actually broke it down. We discussed this with the waitress who said she would speak to the manager but we had no feedback- just the bill. Disappointing since we returned having a positive experience last time. We won’t be returning again.

I came here on my 58th birthday with my wife and son and his Girlfriend. i must say this place is brilliant Service 10/10 The staff are so friendly quick and attentive 😍 Food 10/10 I order the Turkey roast and bloody hell it was so tasty and fresh ! and so much on my plate 😋 Atmosphere 10/10 This Pub/restaurant is Clean warm and has a lovey charm about it. I would definitely come back again and im telling my family and friends about it Bring your family and friends you you won't regret it

Excellent food Friendly and professional staff

We have eaten from the a la cart menu in the past at the Barley Mow, & found it very good & have also found the price fix menu pretty good as well. But this past Sunday 26th Nov. 2024 we decided to have the roast because it was a really wet cold miserable day outside. WELL WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT - A HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT. The rump roast was tasteless, truly tasteless, on top of great pile of limp bitter cabbage - the carrots & parsnips were supposed to be roasted, but were not, they came with no colour on them at all & the carrots were way under done - a hand full of chunks of beetroot (who has beetroot with a roast meal) - a piece of cauliflower in amongst the chaos with NO cheese sauce - two big halves of potato, NO crunch at all, obviously been sitting in a warming tray for god knows how long - a yorkshire pudding as big as your fist, but dry & cold, also been sitting in the warning tray I imagine. Salty gravy. All piled high on the one plate like something from a transport cafe on an industrial estate. Where does Raymond Blanc stand on Sunday rump roasts at his Barley Mow pub, he would have been disgusted. NO flavour & NO presentation, I would be flat out giving this mess a 6 out of 10. The best part "BY FAR" about this experience, was my gin & tonic before the meal. *** NOW I'VE JUST SEEN a photo of someone else's roast beef meal in the comments FROM 2023, what we had on Sunday 26th Nov. 2024 was nothing like this customers photo.

Lovely atmosphere and good service. Dog friendly. The food was absolutely amazing. The onion soup very delicious and the pork ribeye very tender.

After a long absence we visited the Barley Mow for a celebration dinner last night. Excellent food - very nicely prepared and served, warm and comfortable atmosphere and exceptional service - nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely be visiting again very soon. Fabulous evening and great value too.

Great Sunday lunch service excellent very much improved in the last visit really up there game, Last visit not as many choices of meats was finding book pass 3.00 and staff disappearing break I would imagine but not being backed up none of that this time .

2 couples went on a busy Saturday evening. Service very good and food , autumn menu, excellent. I had the venison, well done and tasty.

Fantastic Sunday meal with my daughter and her partner. Easy to book a table and even asks if you require a dog frinedlytable. I had (in my opinion) the best sunday dinner, and highly recommend.

Omg ,what a beautiful pub /bistro let me start with the staff brilliant kind understanding and know what there doing , when we walked we was grated by the gm of pub well persended gentlemen named Barry kind well hearted and knew what the customer requested we were shown to our table even though we hadden booked and it was packed.the food menu was vast for a Sunday so we had Sunday roast well unexpectedly it turned up about 6 minutes later .the vegetables were excellent cooked perfectly he chicken perfectly and unlike most pubs that I have been in over the years the roast potatoes were so cooked so well .I don't have a dog but from what I see they welcome dogs like there part of the family , just across the road are miles of woods and open ground for those who like hiking. Without a doubt this pub is in my top 5 of a must , beautiful, if you go your gonna miss out on great food great view and outstanding staff well done you for making us fell so cared for and Barry outstanding management.

Taken out for evening meal, midweek, plenty of room. Great food, nice relaxed atmosphere, all round good vibe & experience. Cool but good quality. Well looked after by our waiter. I expect it'll be busier end of week & weekends.

We hadn't visited the Barley Mow for over a year and an impromptu visit without booking. Made very welcome, with a lovely table. Amazing meal. Food was delicious, prompt and professional service, and lovely staff all round. Will make sure we make more regular visits. Thank you.

Very good quality local pub. A casual atmosphere with a decent level of cooking. My wife and I both had a steak and it was good.

Mixed reviews from us, ideally 2.5 stars. My partner had the risotto, which she enjoyed. Our boy had the burger which was also good. I had the lamb Sunday roast. The lamb itself was tasty. However, they were out of roast potatoes... so I had to have roasted 'new' potatoes, which were a gritty... Also, there was nowhere near enough gravy. The cheesecake received a positive review from the boy. I wanted to order sticky toffee pudding, but it had also sold out... (4pm ish) so I had the crumble. It was good, but not enough ice-cream came with it, so it was a bit dry. In addition, I ordered a half pint of cider and received a pint. The waiter agreed with me that I should only pay for a half pint... then billed me for a pint, which I paid for out of his tip (no tip) I would try the Barley Mow once more, but they would need to do better...

I thought the Souffles were lovely but your Bouibaise was very disappointing and did not in any way match the menu description. The ingredients did not warrant such a huge price tag. Some of the other meals my friends had looked good I guess I picked the wrong thing.

The menu is more extensive than most pubs. The current summer menu had many fish and seafood dishes.

Another excellent evening at The Barley Mow. Two of us had trout which was superb and the third had sea bream which was excellent. 3 different starters, my husband loves the fish soup and i had the soufflé which is always amazing. And of course well looked after by Clive, so professional and with a great sense of humour. And we had a £10 off voucher, always love a voucher!

Friendly gastropub with both a pub area and separate restaurant towards the back. Lovely atmosphere, attentive service and excellent menu. We happened to go on the Wednesday which is steak night, two steak dinners entitling you to a bottle of wine, the house red being free but two others were offered at reduced price.

I only go here now because other friends find it convenient. To me the fodd has really gone downhill since the takeover. The only thing I have really enjoyed in the recent past was the haddock and now they've taken that of the menu. I was going to just have nothing or perhaps a desert but to be sociable I ordered a burger. Bad mistake . The poorest quality burger and chips I have had in anywhere that calls itself a gastro pub. The only positives are the staff who are very pleasant and obliging

I had a very lovely meal here, there is a good amount of food and the staff are very friendly.

The lunch club menu was delicious and incredibly good value. For £18.50 you get two courses and a glass of rose spritz . What a shame then that we were charged £3.50 for a lime and soda. The soda was not even bottled and came from a mixer tap. How can this be justified ? There’s a difference between making a profit and ripping your customers off. We asked the waitress to check the cost as we felt sure there must have been a mistake but we were assured that the more than £10 cost of 3 lime sodas was correct. Very disappointing

We booked online and were greeted with a smiles from the staff. We had a toddler with us and he was soon in his high chair with food ordered for him straight away. We all had fish even though we are not vegetarian. The food and drinks were great and were served by a waiter with a good sense of humour. We enjoyed the meal and surrounding so much we returned the following night to watch the football in the gazebo area. The atmosphere was so friendly with other family groups mingling.The waiting staff were superb. Two young ladies and a young man. All evening they were back and forwards making sure that everyones food and drinks were delivered in good time. They must have walked miles. The management must be praised for the running of the restaurant and the great staff too. I wish we lived near the Barley Mow so we could visit again.

Great location for a working lunch.

Very enjoyable pub lunch from the 'Lunch Club' menu with excellent choices - though all three of us went for the crab & risotto starter, followed by the steak frites. The beer that I ordered was a little slow to be delivered (problem with the barrel apparently), but without prompting, they gave me a 'snifter' of one of the other beers to 'keep me going' (and didn't charge for the first pint either). Very impressive customer service! :o)

We sit in a dirty table. No one comes to clean , we ignore it and just enjoy it.

Racist pub won't be bringing my family back here again. Might turn up with a squad though will be interesting to see if we get the same treatment!

We had a father's day lunch. The food was lovely. The Sunday roast was perfect. The chicken was soft and tasty. The customer service is excellent. We will definitely return again. We had a wonderful afternoon sitting outside in the sun eating our delicious meal.

Came to this pub with my husband and children to potentially have dinner. However changed my mind as we did not fancy anything on the menu, so we decided to just finish our drinks. The place was pretty empty. The lady serving asked if we wanted to order, I said we are just going to finish our drinks and leave as we decided to dine elsewhere. She was very rudely saying "well this area is for eating so you have to order food to sit here" I replied back saying we will leave once we have finshed our drinks if thats ok. She again rudely started nodding away to tell another member of staff. As we were leaving the two staff members were watching us leave without any smile or goodbye. We found our experience unwelcoming and very unpleasant. The customer service was terrible and I put it down to my skin colour as nothing else makes sense. I do not recommend this pub for that matter. Senior member of staff need to watch this back on their CCTV. They will notice their behaviour by body language with zero smiles through out the interaction. Please provide standard training to these individuals.

Great food , great ambience with reasonable prices! Booking is necessary as it is quite popular in the area. The menu changes but quality is always there no wonder why it's always busy. Highly recommend it, especially for dining.

We had food whilst watching England in the Euro's.... shame England didn't do as well as The Barley Mow! Quaint little pub with a garden and outside seating. Menu was good and varied and the staff were just great. Definitely worth a visit.

Having eaten here often over the years, this particular Sunday lunch was sadly not up to par. Our waiting staff were efficient and very pleasant, as usual, and most of the meals for our party were fine, but the roast was not. The beef itself was good, the Yorkshire also, but what on earth happened with the veg?! To start with there was a large pile of beetroot - on a roast? It wasn’t roasted which would have been almost acceptable, but looked like it came from a jar - most odd. There were lots of tiny matchstick-like parsnips which were rock hard and completely undercooked. The cauliflower cheese was distinctly lacking in any sort of cheese or sauce and was limp. The carrots were like school dinner carrots - tiny, shrivelled and oddly hard considering the outsides were squidgy, no idea how that happened. The cabbage was just about edible but rather wet. The saddest thing was the potatoes - two large, lukewarm, pale and undercooked spuds with no crispy bits. I appreciate getting every element of a roast spot on is tricky, especially on a busy day, but so disappointed with this high priced meal.
