Best christmas dinner we had in ages. Service was great and all the staff was so lovely. Thank you for looking after as you been amazing

Very disappointing. As my father cannot join us for Christmas this year I wanted to treat him to a Christmas lunch and the menu at the Cricketers looked perfect. £32 per person for two courses and 4 choices for each course, which needed to be pre-ordered. It did seem a little pricey but I was happy to pay for a lovely meal, which I ordered our choices week ago. We were given a warm welcome from the front of house and shown our table and ordered some drinks. A member of staff then asked who ordered to chocolate and raspberry torte - that was me. I was told they didn't have this and I could make another choice - I did. Then the staff member came to our table again and asked who ordered the fish - again that was me. This dish on the menu is described as Sea Bass Fillets with hot flaked salmon with a hollandaise and chive sauce with smashed baby potatoes and roasted parsnips and carrot. She said unfortunately there is no hollandaise sauce! and they could provide a 3 cheese sauce. I reluctantly agreed. My plate arrived with one sea bass fillet - not hot flaked salmon and came with sprouts which were so hard I could not cut into them and the three cheese sauce was tasteless I did complain and pointed out that these dishes were pre-ordered via email so I could have been told in advance and changed my order before arriving - can a chef not make a hollandaise sauce ! I can. so what was supposed a lovely treat for my father ended up being a real let down. However the staff did reflect this in our bill and did not charge me for my meal and gave us the drinks on the house.

Went with my daughter for a delish Sunday roast, lovely, lively vibe and will obviously be back! Thanks Victoria

We had a lovely lunch at The Cricketers today. We were served by Gemma who was very friendly and helpful and gave excellent service. The food was delicious too and of a very high standard. Would definitely recommend. Hope to go back to try their Turkey Roast

Recently had a family birthday lunch here in the snug. Had a fantastic time, can't praise the staff enough.... they were engaging, professional and fun adding to the day. So helpful with requests in advance and on the day. They basically served 17 roast dinners all at once and kept up with drinks and additional roast potatoes and yorkies! Can't recommend this place enough keen to get back!

50th pub lunch for my hubby - Food was good but fairly standard, atmosphere is generally always nice but it was somehow subdued this last visit - staff seemed to be under pressure but it was well handled and the service was great. Shout out to Luca and the team for great service both behind the bar and at the table. No birthday special touches (candle in the dessert etc) though which can be done without fuss/fanfare and at minimal cost?

People were very friendly and entertainment was fantastic.. Although I didn't eat the food looked very good.

We held a 50th birthday lunch for 17 people in The Snug (a great private area). Every single person in our group has said that the food was absolutely delicious, the service was amazing and the atmosphere spot on. We couldn't have asked for more. Thank you to Martina and the other staff for making our family get together so perfect. We will be back for sure! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Lovely birthday treat out with the family. Food was lovely, the service excellent and the staff very friendly and helpful. Kids menu was also good, especially the salted caramel dessert (according to my 9yr old!). Really enjoyed it, and look forward to going again.

Popped in for quick lunch on the way back from football. The Chicken burger was rated highly by my hungry daughter. Service was friendly and despite being busy, the food arrived promptly. Will come back again

We had a great evening at the Cricketers. There was a large group of us out to celebrate a birthday and leaving drinks. Karl and Millie behind the bar were brilliant, very attentive and quick service. Would recommend

We chose the Cricketers for a family celebratory meal as the snug seemed perfect for the occasion although we had not eaten here. We were not disappointed with the experience. Food was well prepared and fresh. Good variety although most of the guests chose Sunday roasts. Snug suited us perfectly as we had small children as well as 90+ so we were not disturbed by any other diners. Due to numbers we had to pre order and in deed had an extra on the day which was all catered for with ease. Would come back again in preference to our usual choice of local restaurant. Thank you very much to the Cricketers. Only slight issue was the AI bot on the phone system, as I wanted to discuss before booking I was unable to get through to a human so ended up driving to Cricketers.

Saturday night singer was amazing. Great atmosphere lovely staff. Will be back soon. All the staff has been very efficient and nice.

Food and general service was wonderful especially the Waitress called Gemma, she is so welcoming

Came with husband for lunch, this is pretty local to us, and have been on other occasions. We were greeted with a smile from Gemma - our server. The food was great, and the atmosphere was friendly.

A Chain pub that seems like a traditional local. Great beer ( four real ales) a varied menu including 4 specials and exceptionally friendly service from Gemma. Plenty of parking too we really enjoyed our visit.

Thought it looked like a place you can guarantee fresh food. Just had chicken goujons…was dry and basically frozen and chucked in a fryer. Thought I might have been offered money back but obviously not bothered about the customer. Nice place though, friendly staff. Won’t be rushing back even if it was a simple dish it should have been a lot fresher instead of dry and tasteless. Waste of £14

I had a small party last night and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful, the food was great and the price very fair. A special commendation to the manager Martina who was amazing.

Went in for steak and it was exactly how I wanted, staff member let as know it would take a bit longer for how we wanted it cooked but came out exactly how we wanted, the staff where very friendly and made sure we okay a good amount while the bar was busy for drinks. Will definitely be back again

Popped in hoping for a table for 7, only had to wait 10 minutes. Food was lovely and fresh,kids menu very good and the service was spot on . If I was in this area again would definitely return.

I should very much like to hear from the Management Team of this pub, regarding my comment....I popped in today for a lunch time meal & drinks to celebrate a friends birthday. Greeted by one lady serving drinks, on seeing the dinning room full, I asked how long wait for meals to be served. She said at least 40 minutes, I said OK how about bar snacks, said the same length of time! She then said only her & one Chef on duty. Every time I have visited this pub, always the same story regarding meals, never enough staff, so have to wait . Turning many disappointed customers like our group of six away. .I just cannot understand why after spending a lot of money refurbishing this pub & making it a lovely place to drink & dine in. They always seem to have staff issues? I have visited here a few times over the past years & always the same story. I have asked friends who live close by and they all agree, don't bother going there to eat! Yet the pub has signs everywhere, advertising what a wonderful dinning experience you will find here!! Sorry but we all beg to differ, you are lucky if you actually see any food!!

It's a pub, with pub food. Admittedly the food is nice, however a little on the high priced side for what it is. Great to pop into after a Sunday walk for a drink or two. However, if you are after good food, with a price that matches the quality, then I would suggest somewhere else.

My Nan had her birthday meal here in March and really enjoyed it. The family enjoyed their meals and the service made the experience really enjoyable. Bar staff were polite, friendly and happy to help.

Impromptu visit for lunch after visiting Brooklands Museum. Friendly greeting from Gemma on arrival, and an apology for keeping us waiting as it was a busy lunchtime in the restaurant. We weren't kept waiting long, but it was nice to have this acknowledged anyway. Lots of menu options to suit all tastes. Neck Oil on tap too! Service was quick and efficient. Food was tasty pub grub. Lovely surroundings, outside seating and a car park. Star of the show was Gemma, who despite being on her own in the bar and restaurant, seemed totally in control and was always smiling. Wish more establishments had staff like her. Thank you for a very pleasant lunch experience.

Very welcoming , spacious, great outdoor setting but we could not enjoy it with non stop rain. The service was excellent, a pretty young lady, Emma, with a lovely smile, was very attentive to all our needs. Such a pleasant atmosphere that we lingered on, drinking our wine, making the moment last. We had scampi & chips, very satisfying. We'll come back .

Me and my family went to Cricketers many times before and manager Barbara always looking after us with all her heart . Especially Mother’s Day which was super busy but she was doing everything she could and everywhere making sure everyone has a good service despite the fact how busy it was. Amazing person and very professional and so the staff and food!!

Food was very nice, I would recommend lamb shank and Sunday roast 100%. Happy to come back and thank you for looking after us especially during that busy Mother’s Day!

Booked a table for six for Mother’s Day and was incredibly disappointed with the service. One meal arrived 20 minutes before the others and was finished before the others even turned up. The food was very tasty when it arrived apart from the crumble which shared more of a resemblance to a bowl of porridge. The manager kept heading outside for a smoke and when she was attentive she couldn’t remember anything we’d ordered and had to keep coming back to ask. Disappointing experience overall.

We booked last minute for the cricketers for a table of 10. Martina got us a real lovely cosy table at the back, we started off with garlic bread with fresh mozzarella, some drinks and Merlot. We ordered the roast dinners, we had Turkey which was so succulent and lots of it and a smashing lamb shank and chicken goujons for the children. Followed by bottomless roast potatoes and yorkshires with piping hot lavishing gravy! The carrots were beautiful. I felt like standing up with my large plate of food and dancing whilst thinking wow, is my nan in the kitchen cooking away. The thought made my evening so pleasurable, Max is a credit to the industry. Cannot wait to tell my auntie from Australia who is coming down in 2 weeks time to indulge a lovely roast with us.

Great pub. First time visiting. I had a Sunday roast and it was beautiful. Free top ups of roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding. My Dad brought his dog too who was also welcomed and treated. The pub is clean and comfortable. The atmosphere is great. We were served by Martina@team Well worth the visit

Had a nice family meal here, the food was by and large very good and the staff were polite and happy to help (if a little slow/ distracted at times). Some real ales on the bar (Pride, Tribute, Hophead) - went with Hophead, not sure it was in great condition sadly.

I honestly can't thank The Cricketers enough for a fantastic Christmas party. This was our first Christmas party for the company and what a night it turned out to be! The staff were fantastic, the food was lovely and the atmosphere was brilliant. We asked to increase the numbers a couple of weeks before and they managed to move us into the snug area. Staff were polite, patient and nothing was too much trouble. HIGHLY RECOMMEND
