What a lovely place to have a cuppa tea and a bite to eat. The food was amazing. We had sandwiches and the thai pea and spinach soup which was delicious. Jackie and Alan have created a warm welcoming tearoom with some thoughtful and inspiring words of wisdom displayed on the walls. I certainly recommend this place to anybody who visits Stow on the Wold but be sure to book in advance.

We had been planning for over a year to visit the tea room for Arvo tea with scones, jam and cream. With such high expectations the tea rooms did not disappoint. Sensational!! We also had a slice of the coffee and walnut cake. Definitely in the same league as the scones. On top of the treats was the excellent coffee. Best we've had on our travels in the UK. All made by the owners to boot. If you're anywhere near Stow on the Wold it's a must visit. To avoid disappointment, book ahead. First class friendly service.

Once again the Old Bakery Tearoom has surpassed itself. It outshines all the other tearooms in Stow on the Wold. Would highly recommend crumpets with cheese and bacon. We’ll be back next time we are in Stow. If you are planning to visit I would advise that you book in advance

Visited with family including our elderly mum for a cream tea. Beautiful location, very nice tea room. Fantastic fresh scones, hot chocolate and cakes. There seemed to be a great selection to choose from and lunch options that came out looking great. The staff were great and nothing seemed too much trouble. We would love to come back if we come down from Rugby again!

My husband and I booked in advance due to covid . We turned up a little early but was able to sit at our table right away. The Tea room is small, but there were dividers between tables and although old fashioned, it was clean and well looked after. The owner was polite and made friendly conversation and I notice a few times after handling money and cards, he would sanitise his hands and he wore a mask throughout. We didn't have to wait long for our orders (and I don't eat much) and when it did come, it was really substantial. We especially loved how the salad was put together, nothing was left out. For an extra treat, we took home a slice of hm lemon and coffee cakes. Delicious! Thank you so much for a delightful lunch.

Stopped in Stow for lunch. Good job I used trip advisor to find a place to eat. The Old bakery is hard to find. It's at the end of a small shopping arcade. There is signage but there nothing that can be done about it. Make sure you spend the time to find it, its worth it.A small place very Covid secure, lovely atmosphere, the story behind why the couple set up is amazing. They really love what they do. Conversations are good. Food is freshly prepared and therefore there is a little wait, but that is ok because its fresh. Toilet is really clean. I can't complain about anything. Price of food is reasonable. I am so glad I found this place and I will be returning when I travel through Stow.To avoid disappointment book in advance, even on the same day book in advance.

What a little gem this place is! Upon arriving at Stow on the wold we had a look on Trip Advisor to get an idea of places to visit and we were not disappointed by this find. I’d definitely suggest calling in advance and booking as it was clearly popular. Alan was so welcoming, was just like speaking to an old friend! They have clearly taken all the precautions they can re Covid, and we felt very safe and well looked after. My husband had steak platter and I had ham and eggs, the food was amazing, so homely and punching above its price point (we couldn’t believe the cost, we would have been happy to pay double!). Home cooked ham, homemade salad dressing, great portions! You can tell that this couple love what they do, and they work very hard to maintain an exceptional standard, we can’t wait to visit them again.

We found this place on a drizzly day in Stow-in-the-Wold and I’m so glad we did! We were lucky enough to get a table and seemed to arrive just at the right time as so many other customers had to be turned away because it was full. The tea room is small and has a very cute, old fashioned feel to it, just like tea rooms should be! The gentleman who served us (and I believe who also owns it) was very friendly and cheery and took our order swiftly. We both ordered a scone with jam and cream and I ordered a hot chocolate and my husband a latte. The scones were so delicious! Homemade and warm, with beautiful homemade jam! My hot chocolate, made with melted chocolate, was soooo good! So chocolatey, like a hug in a mug, just what you need on a cold, damp day! Could not recommend this tea room more!

We came across The Old Bakery Tearooms by chance while on holiday and I’m so glad we found it. The owners have done a first class job to meet Covid guidelines by partitioning tables to make you feel at ease and provision of hand sanitizer. Our lunch was absolutely delicious- two cheese melts, one with onion and one with tuna. The melts were fantastic, as was the coleslaw but the accompanying salad was exceptional - beautiful, fresh, good quality ingredients with a home made dressing which was sublime. Alan was really friendly, welcoming and courteous; it’s obvious that he and his wife Jackie go out of their way to provide a great customer experience. All in all a fabulous lunch, and the loo could very easily get a “Loo of the Year” award for its cleanliness and hygiene. We will most definitely return for more before we go back home.

Alan and Jackie are wonderful hosts. No trip to Stow is complete without a visit here. Everything in place for Covid prevention, screening, sanitising, distancing. But still a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Well done so good to see you back doing what you do best.

I must say Alan Slough was amazing. We went for lunch at the old bakery tearoom and asked for a ploughman’s split for 3. It came out all separate and the most wonderful warm rolls. The scones, cream and jam were just divine. Contact tracing forms given out and very clear guidelines in the restrooms. An excellent place to visit if you go the stow on the wold.

Went today as it opened on Wednesday for the first time since lockdown. Glad to say the food standard and service remains second to none. Screens to ensure social distancing have been installed and we both thoroughly enjoyed returning for the first time since lockdown. Thank you so much.Ian and Sue Irwin.

A lucky find whilst ambling around Stow on the Wold. A small cafe set back from the road, might easily be missed. Once we’d opened the door it looked charming with fresh flowers on the tables. The owners clearly take pride in the food and service. We ordered Brie and cranberry sandwiches and a cream team so we could share both. When the sandwiches came they had been served on 2 plates with a generous salad garnish on each. The dressing came separately and was home made. The scones were warm, fresh and delicious. We were given a choice of home made jams and both this and the cream were in ample quantities. We opted for tea and got a pot of proper loose leaf tea.The owner was lovely and chatted to us. What a super place, definitely one to recommend.

So friendly and I shan't say what but there is a poignant leaflet on the table which I'll be totally honest bought a tear to my eyes. We came here due to the amazing reviews and it didn't disappoint. It's so cute in here, very relaxed subtle music playing in the back ground. We were lucky to be seated straight away by Alan and given a menu which has so many options, vegetarian, gluten free and everything in-between. We opted for latte, cappuccino a tuna melt and a scone. When Alan took our order he asked why I wasn't eating so I made a joke and said I'll share his, his being my husband haha. So when it came he had halved it and done a plate each for the lunch and the scone. It was such a lovely and much appreciated gesture. The food is made all fresh by his wife Jackie. The scones were absolutely delicious 'oh wow'!! Warm and just heaven. The food is reasonably priced and worth it.When you sit there you realise in the menu there is a very touching story of them and owning the tea room, where their son took his own life. So very sad but share it in an open and understanding way of showing how they coped with grief. Real credit.Thank you for your hospitality and delicious food.

Wow, simply wow. I have been fortunate enough to enjoy afternoon tea on many occasions, at many a fine establishment, as my waistline will testify to, but this place that I visited today with a party of four did not disappoint. No reservation made in advance, we just turned up at 11.30am and got seated immediately. The owner was very hospitable and had a great sense of humour. I liked the crack about charging me double because we had all visited his Tea Room directly from Cheltenham ;-) We all ordered the homemade sweet potato soup, served with bread and butter. It was sweet, flavoursome and delicious. The portion size was generous and it was piping hot. We ordered their famous Afternoon Tea, so freshly baked scones that were hot and smelt fantastic were served. The accompanied clotted cream and strawberry jam was amazing. I’m not sure where the strawberry jam or the fresh clotted cream was sourced from, but I was not disappointed with the freshness and the taste. We ordered English Breakfast tea and this worked a treat to wash down those amazing scones. The price was reasonable, the ambience was excellent and we will be sure to visit again. Thank you very much from all of us. Your warmth and kindness was clearly evident to see. You helped make our trip to Stow on the Wold a pleasant one. All the best to you and your lovely business.

Popped in here for a hot drink and scone and my goodness it was amazing! The scones were fresh and homemade and came out warm from the oven, honestly the best scones we've ever had! My husband had a coffee and I had a hot chocolate which was also devine.Couldn't believe how cheap it was when we paid! The value for money is amazing for how lovely the food is.Gutted that it's closed Thursdays so we didn't get to pop back for another scone before leaving!

We wanted to have a small lunch and found this old bakery tea room hidden at the back of a small shopping area. What a find. We had (we thought) decided on a jacket potato with the usual salad and filling (see photo). Oh my goodness, it was huge and so nice. One of the best places we have visited.

A lovely warm welcome. We were shown to a table, which is a nice touch. Went in for something to eat & a hot drink. When we had finished they said that we could stay as long as we liked as the weather was shocking, which was a lovely thoughtful gesture. Most definitely will go again.

A wonderful Valentine’s cream tea with my husband. I ordered a decaf tea, my husband had regular, I ordered the cream tea with homemade forest fruits jam and my husband had the Gluten Free cream tea with strawberry. Everything was so delightful, and service with a smile and side of welcome conversation. We weren’t rushed and reminded we could stay as long as we wished, no rush for the bill, no rush to clear the table, just wonderfully able to enjoy each other’s company and our lovely surroundings. Please make sure when visiting you take the time to read about the incredible couple’s story and the fantastic things they are doing (twinning bathrooms, writing books, offering advice!) Customer service is perfect in this little tea room and we are so pleased we found this little treasure! We will definitely be recommending to friends and family, and hope to visit when in Stow next time around! Thanks for making our afternoon!
