the visit to the George was as good as ever. The food was excellent, wild mushroom risotto was very tasty and the John Dory fish was as good as it gets. As good as some of the best restaurants I have eaten in. Excellent wine, the Voignier was delicious. Lovely small portions of icecream too, from Marshfield ice cream makers. Very attentve service but not intrusive. Thank you for the lovely linen napkins too, very large and very useful.

Excellent visit to The George today for midweek lunch. Really good value and had taken our requests from the booking seriously. Main courses and desserts looked appealing on arrival and the whole party ate everything.

Just had the Ruben’s burger big juicy full of flavour and well worth the price It beats all other burgers cooked to how you like it and it’s so filling Staff very friendly and can’t do enough I had a lovely large glass of red So if your looking for something that ticks the boxes why not try the George on Kempsford 5 stars

Superb food, great atmosphere and the staff were lovely. Can't wait to return. Recommend the cauliflower and cheese soup and bread was the best ever. Also the risotto was beautiful.

Perfect Sunday lunch. Everything was cooked superbly, and the roast potatoes were the best- lovely and crisp on the outside, beautifully fluffy inside. A wonderful pub with excellent service.

The food and service was great. Our only gripe as a table of 3 couples was that they would only take 2 card payments per table. Luckily one of our friends had cash. Never heard of this on any of my travels around the UK when paying for dinner. Wouldn’t be great with a table of 6 friends wanting to split the bill. Apart from that anomaly, would recommend .

A warm welcome,landlady and staff had time to talk,even though they were fairly busy,drinks ordered and delivered quickly.starters recommended and ordered,chicken liver parfe,and squid,Mrs N. Said it was the best squid ever eaten. Ordered 2 roast beef dinners,1pork,1 lamb,all meats were cooked perfectly,with crisp roast potatoes tasty cauliflower cheese,and vegetables,this chef knows how to cook,presentation and flavour. Prices were fair,but here's the best bit ,our friends played for the meal😁. We will return time after time

Lovely old pub with a cosy vibe. The restaurant area was nicely set up for Valentine’s Day. Food was absolutely delicious, nice portion sizes and worth the price. Our server Julie was really lovely and friendly. Will definitely return :)

We invited 2 other couples to join us for Sunday lunch at The George. 2xbeef and 4xpork was absolutely lovely as were the serving staff and Emmie. Thank you so much. When a pub like this is still serving food at 3pm and all seats full you know this is a special place and you need to book well ahead.

The fish and chips are magnificent!! My only grumble is that the menu online does not match the one we were given at our table. My husband was so looking forward to having either the vension or beef cheeks and I really wanted to try the parfait with quince but alas neither were on the menu

Few local pubs in the area offer the ambiance and hospitality offered as standard practice. The food is always of great culinary quality and the menu is a delight to peruse. The Chef's specials are always a great option. Great value delivered to perfection by an impeccable team. The George is the benchmark for all other establishments in the area.

The George in Kempsford is a wonderful place to eat, drink & relax with your family & friends. Emi is a superb hostess & ensures everything runs smoothly front of house. We always receive a warm welcome when we visit & she always makes the effort to stop for a chat & a laugh/joke. Roger cooks up a storm in the kitchen. The food is excellent - we’ve never had a bad meal having visited most months of the year. I can certainly recommend his fish dishes. He also creates a fabulous curry. Roger creates complimentary flavours & textures in the dishes he serves which in my opinion makes the George at Kempsford an excellent choice when dining out. Thank you Emi, Roger & the team!

Lovely Sunday lunch in a lovely Cotswold pub with great service and ambiance. Had the roast beef and all the trimmings. Congratulations to the chef.

Wonderful food and a nice relaxed atmosphere for Sunday lunch. All staff were friendly and happy to help with whatever we needed and the food was so good we will be full for a week :)

Stumbled across The George by chance 3 weeks ago & had the best roast dinner we've ever had. Returned today & it was just as delicious. Really friendly service, amazing food & such a lovely atmosphere. It's quickly becoming one of our favourites.
