We came here for a spa day and it was brilliant. A lovely setting in the Cotswolds. The service was very good - we felt very well looked after. We will definitely be returning at some point in the future

We had a wonderful experience at the Dormy hotel with the exception of some of the issues with the room. We were given a handicapped room which is a bit of an issue as both my wife and I are tall. Otherwise great food, amazing spa with snow shower and Himalayan salt sauna and great service

Went for afternoon tea and had a nice time. The venue is fantastic, clean, spacious and great decor. The garden room where afternoon tea was served is excellent, so light and spacious. Even though the afternoon was busy it didn’t feel full or to noisy. Excellent for the 2 of use as we where on a table for 4 but with only the 2 of us they sat us side by side so we could both see the gardens. We did turn our chairs slightly towards each other so we could chat easier. The food was good, they swapped my salmon for an alternative as I can’t eat fish. The sandwiches were as expected which in some ways is not good as I think they should have been more adventurous for the price. The cakes were very good, especially the lemon tart and the fruit scones. We didn’t eat our plain scones as we are not fans of the plain ones, would have been nice to have had a choice. The tea selection was good, I had the Ginger and lemon, tip for you, don’t let it stew as the ginger becomes very strong. Would I go again? Personally no, however if someone asked me for a recommendation and they were near the hotel I would say it’s worth a visit. Overall the experience was good not great, the food was good not great and the staff were good not great, hence the 4 stars.

I was disappointed with my spa half day. I did not think it was good value for money. Very stingy in fact, allowing such a short time slot in the actual spa facilities and it's not very relaxing trying to keep an eye on the time and clock watch how long you're in each area for. At lunch, the staff did not show us to a table, we were ignored really and seated ourselves. They did not bring us menus we had to go up and ask, and we had to ask for the prosecco which was part of the package. They didn't have one of the items on the menu, we were eating at 12 so they surely couldn't have had time to have run out. I ordered a ham and cheese toasty which was ok but nothing special for £15 and would have benefitted from some mustard or something. The dining room was drafty which isn't great when you're in flip flops and a dressing gown. On the plus side, the massage was good, the place is super cute and I loved the free tote bag.

I’ve been coming to Dormy for years. I enjoy using one of the front living rooms with a log fire and one of the Sunday newspapers. This is the first time bringing my dog and she was so well looked after by the wonderful staff. They immediately welcomed her, provided water, snacks and lots of cuddles. The fire was always added to, the staff were up for a chat and we stayed for about 3 hours relaxing without being rushed. The perfect place to chill in the countryside.

TALL PEOPLE BEWARE - two of the 'intimate rooms' at the hotel have shorter than standard bed lengths. They are described as King beds - they have the standard width but are not standard King sized length - the room is quite narrow and I think they have tried to make the proportions work. We weren't told about this and my husband and I are both over 6ft, spent the night with our ankles and feet hanging off the end. You can see the overhang of the standard mattress topper at the end of the bed in the photo below. We stayed two nights and had we mentioned it the first night we could have changed rooms - I thought I would fix it by pulling the bed away from the wall so didn't say anything and didn't want to go through the hassle of moving rooms (unfortunately this didn't work). They dealt with the complaint well, however I wouldn't expect to advertise a room with a standard rate of £450 per night at the time we booked with a bed that is non-standard. Everything else about our stay was lovely and the staff are wonderful - the bed issue was nothing to do with them and the service was fabulous.

We did a spa day at Dormy House, and it was such a treat! It was like a warm hug this winter! The outdoor hot tub, with the fire was stunning. The facilities and treatments were top-notch and we felt so relaxed and rejuvenated. Big thanks to Bobby and Fiona at the Spa for looking after us! Dinner at the Back Garden restaurant was utterly delicious. Marius, looked after us so well at the restaurant. And Alex from the bar made the most delicious margaritas we’ve had! Highly recommended!

Bar and restaurant experience is a shambles. Awkward, sterile environment with poor standard of service from staff. Andre a ‘manager’ was incredibly rude at dinner and spoilt the entire birthday evening. I will never go back (and it’s on my door step). The chap serving us brought over the wrong wine twice and said the ‘sommelier said it’s pretty similar’ twice after I mentioned it’s not the same wine I ordered. When I asked the price difference again he went away and came back to simply reply ‘it’s also a pretty similar price’ in the end it was awkward we just asked him to open it. Such a vacuous place which is a shame.

A wonderful hotel with exceptional staff! Nothing was too much trouble throughout our stay at Dormy House. The Spa was very clean and the staggered entry times meant that it never felt too crowded. The only downside was that there was no availability for treatments during our stay. I had tried to book a few weeks in advance but I had no luck getting through to anyone via telephone. There was also a gym on site which had excellent equipment. The dining options were lovely, including the breakfast where there was a wide variety of dishes on the menu which were all clearly very fresh. I would not hesitate to recommend Dormy House!

Took 3 attempts to book a Mo package with room 36 (roll top bath) but finally did it. The service is so exact and flawless it makes you feel really special. Some small area of the hotel showed signs of wear but overall it was a great experience. My wife was on crouches and the staff adjusted and ensured every part of the stay was comfortable for her. I did have a weird sticky "something" on my bath sheet which was not good .

5 star spa, 2 star food. It was such a shame to leave dormy after a wonderful spa morning with a bad taste in my mouth. The food tasted like it was cooked in batches a day or two before then re-heated under a lamp. Sent the food back and had no offer to re-cook and was not offered to have something else. Took my long-suffering wife here for a surprise birthday getaway. My wife said that she loved this hotel and it’s relaxing calming atmosphere. All the staff are so approachable, friendly, proactive and hard-working. The cleaner of my room, even folded my clothes for me and put them back on the bedside table. Amazing service. The food in this hotel is also of extremely high quality. My wife and I are very fussy eaters and would not recommend this hotels food if it wasn’t of an exceptional standard. Special mention to Josh, Joe, Daniel, Bella and Sam. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful throughout our entire stay. My wife said it is worth going to this hotel just for the wave touch massage bed Unfortunately we cannot afford one of these massage waterbeds for our house LOL or else my wife would have one. The spa area is also extremely relaxing and I really enjoyed the lavender scented sauna. They also do a delicious Bailey’s floater coffee which was a luxurious treat after a delectable evening birthday celebration meal. My wife and I also appreciated the fact that they have a vegetable garden growing area at the rear of the hotel. Something you see every day at a hotel. This hotel is like arriving at one big comfortable living room that gives you a hug every day. My wife and I will definitely be going back. finally, I think it is also important to mention that my wife and I are fortunate enough to visit to various hotels and spas within Wales and England on an annual basis. This case has lots of experience with regards to comparing venues service and different qualities of experiences et cetera. this hotel is by far one of the best we have stayed at whether it be England or Wales.

Yet again, another wonderful stay at Dormy House. Surrounded by glorious countryside, outstanding views and beautiful interiors, it's the friendliness and nature of the staff that really makes all the difference. Though the physical attributes are out of this world, it's the people, the team, who make the stay personal, friendly and memorable. The team at Dormy House (and The Fish, where I visited too whilst on my stay) were exceptional. It feels like you're staying with extended family whenever you visit, and that's how, I believe, it should always be. They help to create a sanctury, a soothing escape from everyday life. The spa and the team there were amazing too, providing a haven to destress and fully immerse yourself into. On this visit I opted for the unforgettable isopod floatation tank treatment. What an experience, highly recommended. Dinner was exceptional at both The Hook (located at The Fish Hotel) and The Back Garden. The Farncombe Estate family really do go above and beyond anywhere else I've ever visited, always ensuring you leave feeling refreshed, revived and renewed. Great to see familiar faces and make new friends too. Looking forward to returning soon. Thanks to each and every member of the team for this much needed break away.

Visited the MO restaurant one evening for an indulgent tasting menu experience and had a really enjoyable evening. Yes, it is an expensive experience at £130 per person (and an additional £85 per person if you do the wine flight) as well as £4.50 per bottle of water. They also get you to arrive at 7:30pm for a drink in the hotel entrance beforehand (which isn’t included in the price) and don’t actually take you through to the restaurant until 8pm. But once you are in there, it is a glorious experience with impeccable food and top service. The star of the show for many diners was the lamb dish, but my personal favourite was the scallop. The menu changes regularly though, so could be different choices when you visit. Overall, if you’re willing to spend a lot of money on a lovely dining experience, then this is perfect for you, especially if celebrating something.

The Dormy house is a lovely relaxing place to stay and close to lots of other destinations worth visiting. I visited with my daughter (10 years) and we both really liked that there were activities available to book during our stay. This hotel is perfect for couples looking for a cosy get away, families or even alone. I will most certainly be back. The only downfall I would mention is that being celiac and having no option but to avoid gluten meant there were limited food options.

We booked one night here to celebrate my partner’s birthday and were blown away by the impeccable customer service and attention to style and R&R detail in the whole place. As soon as we drove in, we were greeted by the lovely Adrian, the front of house host who met us in the car park and arranged for our luggage to be taken to our room. The ‘intimate’ room was gorgeously decorated with such lovely luxury touches, from a handwritten welcome note to the birthday chocolates waiting for us in the room, it was such an amazing time - from arrival to departure. Outside the room there was a little fridge that contained cans (yes, cans) of filtered water so you could help yourself. The coffee machine in the room made the nicest coffee and the fridge also had these cute bottles of milk that you could also help yourself up whenever you want. The toiletries in the room were the best spa toiletries I’ve ever used - really luxurious and thoughtfully presented. The bed was so massive and so very comfortable it was hard to get out of it the next morning! But, we managed, and even got to use the well equipped gym - that was such a fantastic way to start our second day. The spa itself was utterly gorgeous, very spacious and extremely well designed. The whole place was immaculate and so beautifully stylish. The spa has everything you need for total relaxation - a hot salt steam room, lavender steam room, large sauna, hot tub outside, and beautiful infinity swimming pool with a floatation tank room, which we really loved using. Oh, and breakfast was absolutely incredible - we had Dippy eggs and American style fluffy pancakes, and there was even a Bloody Mary station at breakfast, which made me giggle. On check out, we were handed a gorgeous gift bag with double chocolate cookies and cans of filtered water for our journey home. We will definitely be visiting again, it was a perfect 2 days for total rest, revitalisation and luxury.

Really pleasant stay here. We stayed for 3 nights in October. We stayed in the "intimate room" - the bedroom was very nice and comfy, it looked exactly as in the 3D model of the hotel on the website. The spa is lovely, although you have to book the times at which you're going to use it in advance, this did help keep the number of people to a nice level. Gym, pool, hottub, steam room & sauna - all very nice. The breakfast was great but perhaps the only criticism is that we thought the dinner could be a bit better. The restaurant at the sister hotel down the road the Fish was definitely tastier. Staff were all very friendly and helpful, later checkout was very easy to arrange and room service was quick. Overall great stay here and I would definitely recommend it to anyone - hopefully will be back here for another break soon!

Where to start. The scenic arrival gives you chance to relax on the approach to Dormy. Upon arrival the hotel doesn't look that big, but it is like a rabbit warren. We loved the informal check in, rather than being stood at a reception desk, you are invited by instantly friendly staff to take a seat, offered a drink and taken through the check in details. Dinner times confirmed, then (and we really loved this touch) a tour of the hotel. As we arrived before check in, we had a drink in the Bar and the lovely lady came to inform us when the room was ready, this is really unusual, in fact I have never had this before. We were then helped with bags and taken to the room, shown more hotel features en route and given information on the room facilities. We stayed in the courtyard hot tub suite, paying £730.00 for one night. To the vast majority of people, this is a LOT of money, whichever way you look at it. Honestly, it was worth every penny. The service was exceptional, the place is beautiful and immaculately clean. The staff can't do more to help you, nothing is too much trouble. As business owners ourselves, we look for staff qualities and fully understand how difficult it is right now to find good staff. We enjoyed being in the Bar and watching a new trainee, being guided by a manager, who was coming along very well. Nice to see. We had an absolutely sensational meal in The Back Garden, my Husband said the Scotch Egg starter was the best thing he's ever eaten. My steak was incredible, fell to pieces and melted in the mouth. Everything just 100% perfect. In the morning we had enjoyed a much needed lie in (until 9:30am!) and couldn't recall whether breakfast was until 9:45 or 10:30am. We called reception and was told it was 10:30am, but don't worry we will ensure you get a breakfast even if you are after this time. So many Hotels would be taking away self serve breakfasts before the service time has even ended and would be finished at the time they say, not Dormy, want their guests to be relaxed and enjoy their break , whatever it takes. I'm already thinking of an excuse for a second visit ASAP! Absolutely loved this break. I find it extremely difficult to switch off, not here, it was easy to relax and enjoy time.

Location is great to discover nearby villages walking, they provide you with maps of the different path walks around the property. Rooms design are cute, modern and functional you have pretty much anything you might need. Dinner and breakfast were extremely nice. Reception and overall service was perfect. The only minor thing is that they have some extremely young waiters that might not keep with the hotel service standards, but probably with training they will get there. It was a great stay.

The staff are delightful and the surrounding beautiful, but the rooms lack a feeling of homeliness, bland and directly out of a homes and garden magazine. The spa was very good.

I visited Dormy house and it certainly did not disappoint! I loved it. My therapist Rubie was absolutely wonderful, I felt so relaxed and at ease. Not only was she Amazing at her job but she made me feel like we had been friends for years! I’m not one to write reviews unless I’m really impressed. Thank you rubie for a beautiful experience and thank you Dormy house for having me! I cannot wait to come back soon!

Restaurant in a beautiful setting within the hotel. Light and airy with a lovely atmosphere. Food is good with a well-priced interesting wine list. Squid starter is fab.

Short version: just go for it, it's amazing! Will definitely go back! Long version: what a fantastic experience! I proposed to my fiancée at the dormy house hotel/spa, and could not be happier with how it went. The staff members were all so kind, the hotel manager Steven went above and beyond to make sure we had a memorable and romantic stay. A bottle of champagne was left in our room to congratulate us on our engagement, and we were offered an extra dessert and a glass of prosecco at breakfast. The spa was initially all booked out when making the reservation, but they did everything they could to find us a spot, so we ended up doing a couple massage! We also got a room with a great view and a beautiful bathtub. The restaurant is absolutely amazing, it has a great vegan menu and even better veggie options. Staying two nights was a big plus (instead of 1). Thank you to the entire team for this magical weekend!

Don't go there if you what coffee, it will cost you nearly £20 for a 4 cup cafetiere. We couldn't believe our eyes when we saw the bill.

Fairly important point: this is NOT a spa hotel. It is an overpriced hotel in which you are “allowed” 1 hours use of the spa. This place was always amazing until they’ve used Covid as an excuse to limit spa use to the paying hotel guests.

A beautiful hotel, friendly staff, great spa, the flotation tank was a lovely experience. The complimentary champagne for my birthday was really appreciated. Breakfasts were superb on both days, thank you Dormy House!

We had a really wonderful stay here. The staff were very attentive and although Dormy House is also under pressure from the lack of staff that is plaguing the industry, we were treated very well. The tasting end was great and the wine selection is also great. We made use of the spa facility and swimming pool area. All very clean and tidy. The gym was also nice. I did like the communal fridge in the hallway and the complementary bar in our room is an excellent idea. We will be going back.

Just finished staying at Dormy House and they exceeded expectations. From checking in (slight hiccup but not their fault) all the way through to the spa and dinner was fantastic. If you come here you must go for a spa treatment! The rooms are very spacious and we were lucky to stay in The Attic. Alot of facilities and the place has that traditional countryside feel which is exactly what you need when your trying to get away from the hustle and bustle of main cities. Cannot wait to return back and 5* to everyone who made it a trip to remember.

Had an exception stay here with the family. The staff were super accommodating for any request we had. The hotel is beautiful with lots of nice spaces to hang out. The spa is also fantastic with a great terrace to sit and have a drink. We've stayed at a lot of hotels in the Cotswolds and this is our new favourite.

What can I say….from the moment we stepped foot in the front door to the moment we sadly left, we were SO happy! We celebrated our twelvth wedding anniversary on this trip and it was wonderful. A whirlwind 24hours for us and we would have loved to stay longer but they were fully booked (as were now obviously coming out of the covid era). The staff, the decor, the cleanliness, the spa, the food & drinks, absolutely everything was 100% top notch. So many magic touches along the way as well…especially the homemade cookies & water bags on departure. We’ll be back!!

Cosy is the best describing word for the Dormy House. We went away to see Cotswold for the first time and thankfully picked an excellent accommodation. The spa facilities were very clean, just ensure you book your slot straight away. (1 hour slots only due to covid) The breakfast and dinner had enough vegetarian options for us and was enjoyed. The staff were extremely kind throughout our stay. We had a slight mix up with dinner but things were put right.

Didn't get passed the booking stage. So rude on the phone I couldn't bear it if that was a reflection of future service and manner with which they'd speak to guests.

Superb in every category. It was our second stay and the third is already booked. Our favourite place when in Cotswolds. Service is absolutely implacable, there’s nothing they would not do to improve your stay! Dining is great, excellent quality with the wide range on the menu. Tasting menu is an entertaining and delicious experience! Definitely recommend with wine pairing.

An excellent Stay at Dormy House for my parents 60th Wedding Anniversary. On the first night, unfortunately a catalogue of disasters happened but it’s how you put them right, and I have mention Gemma the duty Manager on Sunday 15th August was exceptional. Not only did she make good what had gone wrong but made doubly sure it was not repeated the second night. She is a massive plus to Dormy House. Also thank you to Alison for organising the special treats in mum and Dads room. Dormy House is a wonderful place to stay, rooms are luxurious and comfortable, the beds are divine. Thank you Gemma for turning things around and making Mum and Dads stay an absolute pleasure and a weekend they will treasure.

Have just come back from a wonderful meal the food was outstanding quality and portion size undoubtably the best in the area we come every year but this year we were blown away with the new decor, the staff extremely friendly only slight issue was serve was rather slow but they did Warn us when we sat down to dine that they were very shortstaffed and was running on a skeleton crew would deafly recommend this venue for anybody in the area who likes a carvery. Thank you so much the Southgate’s table of 10

A BIG BIG BIG thank you to the team at Dormy! After wanting to stay here for many years, I was surprised with a last minute trip. The house did not dissapoint. No request was too much, the food was amazing, the spa was beautiful and the top notch room was stunning! Most importantly, the team helped (my now fiancé) to plan a proposal in the back garden which was THE most beautful place. Special thanks to Pierre and Gemma for making this such beautiful evening. We can't wait to come back!!! Sonal (& Mel)

We so enjoyed our first visit here for dinner this evening celebrating John's birthday. Jason and Michelle are the perfect hosts and we really enjoyed chatting with them. Our food was delicious and beautifully complemented by the wine. A lovely extra touch was a birthday card from our hosts and some hand-made gingerbread pieces to take home. We will definitely visit when we are next in the area. Thanks and best wishes from John and Gill.

Very cute cafe with pretty interiors, great service and delicious food. They also source their ingredients from other locally owned businesses from the region, so 10/10 for that!

Nice and relaxed setting if you time it right, sampled the most amazing creation of Banoffee Splat, absolutely delicious and great coffee too. Added bonus that it is dog friendly.
