Beautiful tasting menu last night at Henne. Wonderful service which made our wedding anniversary very special. We would definitely love to return.

How has this place not got a star! Exceptional food, service and setting. Absolute gem hidden in the Cotswold with a truly unique and exciting menu that wouldn’t look out of place in a top London restaurant. Must visit if in town.

Superb experience this evening. Fabulous food and fabulous service. We wouldn’t have changed a thing. A small, intimate dining experience which was well worth every penny! Darren is a very talented chef and it’s hard to believe he runs that kitchen alone. Nick is fabulous front of house, run of his feet and never once felt neglected. A fabulous duo running a superb restaurant.

A wonderful place! The food was excellent and service amazing with one person attending to all tables! Still had time to chat about the food and restaurant. We had the perfect table to celebrate my husband’s 50th birthday. We will be returning!

We returned to Restaurant Henne for dinner with friends. A wonderful evening! Darren and Nick have created such a unique experience. The Tasting Menu and Drinks Pairing was a total treat. All local and seasonal fresh ingredients. Utterly delicious. Cured Monkfish,Lobster Raviolo, Paddock Farm fillet of beef……. Gooseberry and Custard and much more…..all wonderfully presented, beautifully cooked, a truly memorable food experience. And the Wines !! The Blanc de Blancs 2019 from Gusbourne, Kent, just one of the six sensational Drinks Pairings on the menu. We will return again very soon. Thank you Darren & Nick.

Our second visit and as before a memorable and delightful experience. We had the window seat which we liked better than the table last time at the rear of the interior. The experience is a tasting menu with adjustments if necessary for dietary reasons. My favourite course was the lobster raviolo with langoustine bisque. All six courses were carefully crafted and full of well honed flavours. A cherry tomato starter and a gooseberry custard desert bookended the meal with seasonal, zingy, freshness. Unlike some other (Michelin) tasting menus we didn’t find it too much - the balance was good, satisfying but not uncomfortably full. We didn’t have the cheese and had a bottle of ’23 Gavi rather than the matched wine pairing. With coffees and a 12.5% service charge our bill was £232.88. This is a fantastic small enterprise, two people making and doing everything and making it work so smoothly. We look forward to our next visit….the window table again please Nick?

Pleasant restaurant to try some very, very good (local) food. The host was friendly and polite, and took good consideration of my special dietary needs.

I live locally and have never paid for a tasting menu at any restaurant before so it made sense for me to come here as they are proud to source everything so locally. In addition, a friend of my abroad had come over so I wanted to show them how good food around here can be. Safe to say I wasn't disappointed in the slightest. Fantastic service: timely, professional, yet more than happy to entertain any questions I had about to meal or the restaurant itself. I can't believe that only two people were behind the food I have but it shows just how excellent it is. Definitely would recommend to anyone - the price may be high but it's entirely reasonable for the experience you yet.

I was really looking forward to a taster menu and not having to choose. The courses arrived and looked superb but lacked depth of flavour and were not well overly hot. It tried to Michelin style without the quality. We were topped up with our wine regularly service was good. Tables a little close and as we were only 2 tables in that night we felt conscious of talking. Lovely little restaurant. Just not as top notch as I’d hoped.

This small restaurant served up a locally sourced tasting menu which was nicely balanced with flavours and textures. There were many pluses to the evening, notably that being small there was no pressure to cover tables twice so we had ample time to have an enjoyable evening with our friends. Service and explanations were excellent and added to the enjoyment. All dishes were good with plenty of textures and flavours. The highlights for me were the deserts (I’ve a sweet tooth) and the lobster ravioli and langoustine bisque (although the ravioli was a little on the thick side. A local cheese board was carefully explained. Our friends also enjoyed the meal so we hope at some stage, to return.

The best dining experience we had in the Cotswolds. Food, atmosphere, service and wine were all incredible. Highly recommend to anyone in the area. We booked a last minute reservation the night before and couldn’t be happier we did.

A fabulous restaurant! This is our absolute favourite local restaurant. We have eaten here around half a dozen times, and each time is even better than the last. A superb tasting menu where every course is outstanding. The food is beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. Also, outstanding service every time. A really special restaurant which delights every time.

A small intimate dining space with an excellent front of house host, who knows his stuff and is very attentive. Each course was delicious and my partner had the veg tasting menu. Both menus were exceptional. With the service and food being beautiful, this place deserves a Michelin star. Parking can be found outside or at the station car park or the one just outside the station (3 min walk).

Just had the most fabulous meal for my 60th birthday. The food was delicious and the flavours absolutely wonderful. So glad I chose this restaurant, worth every penny. Had some dishes I'd never tried before like red mullet in a langoustine bisque absolutely delicious. If you are in the area please give it a try you won't be disappointed the front of house was really friendly and welcoming and the chef created fantastic dishes. 2

A must visit in Moreton in Marsh! Food is excellent and Michelin star worthy. Service is very efficient and friendly. We loved everything about Henne and will recommend to everyone! Thoughtful extras such as a handwritten thank you card show how much care Darren and Nick put into the restaurant.

One of the best dining experiences in the Cotswolds Tasting menu was a great mix of local ingredients brought together in a unique style. Both chef and front of house have Michelin experience so know what they're doing and we felt incredibly well looked after. Every dish had multiple elements to it that elevated it to the next level. Even the optional cheese course had been carefully thought out with 3 amazing varieties. Parking very convenient with multiple free spaces just outside or across the road

The food was outstanding, the service was exceptional, and great quality for the price. It’s one of my new favourite restaurants. They change the menu regularly, so you have the opportunity to try new delicious cuisine often. I’ll be back soon, it’s something special

We visited to celebrate our anniversary, and we had one of the best meals of our life. What a fantastic operation that Darren and Nick have put together. The two of them work seamlessly together, with Nick providing superb service at the front of house, and Darren providing all sorts of pleasures for the tastebuds from their tasting menu. Each course (7 including a superb bread course) was a feast for the senses, and you can feel the care and attention as the plates are placed in front of you and rotated to ensure it is appreciated from the best angle. We did not have the wine pairing, but from overhearing others, Nick sounds very knowledgeable and we would be very tempted next time we are in the area. I could go on and on, but I suggest you simply go experience this restaurant for yourself. Thank you!

Visited during a holiday in the Cotswolds. Had the taster menu which was £70 for 6 courses plus speciality bread. Superb food, professionally presented and service top class. Only us and another couple, so not much atmosphere. Deserves to be fully booked every evening.

The 5 star reviews are absolutely deserved! Henne is a wonderful restaurant, it was one of the nicest meals I’ve had in a long time. Our waiter was wonderful, so attentive and gave great suggestions. The food was also fantastic, each course was well balanced and packed with flavour. I already can’t wait to go back!

Edit- I've since been back (February 2023), and the food and service are probably even more exceptional. Came here with my partner for an [age redacted] birthday meal while visiting friends in the area, and can honestly say some of the courses were up there and exceeding Michelin star places we've been to. The wine pairings are outstanding, the service professional and charming, and the food coming out of the kitchen is seasonal, fairly simple, but bursting with flavour. I particularly loved the brill with white beans, cockle sauce, samphire and oyster leaf, but everything cooked with such care. Faddy food, it certainly isn't; just bold and classic combinations of seasonal and local produce done exceptionally well. We will certainly find a reason to come back, and suspect it will need booking well in advance before too long.

We had an incredible meal at Restaurant Henne. Each dish was flawless, the wine pairing was excellent, and Nick’s service was incredible. The menu was filled with incredibly fresh ingredients used well. The smoked mackerel started and venison main course were the stars. We wouldn’t hesitate to return and will recommend to our friends.

This was our first meal in the UK. It was remarkable! From start to finish it was an amazing experience full of unexpected flavor combinations and delightful dishes. The owners were attentive, welcoming, and incredibly kind. Each course was delicious and thoughtfully planned. It was a great way to start our trip!

We were delighted by our dining experience at the intimate limited seating Henne in Moreton-in-Marsh during the last week of August. From the lovely window table through all six impeccably presented courses of the tasting menu, we were awed by every aspect of the menu and service. Each course, bread included, offered a unique delicious touch from the chef. Front of house attention to detail was flawless. Henne is indeed the whole package for a wonderful evening of dining as a couple or for a small party of friends. Excellent wine selection and pairings available. The seating for under 20 make the restaurant truly special with excellent value. Kudos to the 2 partners for their vision for fine dining at Henne. A wonderful addition to dining choices without a doubt in Moreton-in-Marsh.

Henne was the dining highlight of our Cotswolds trip. The impecable service and excellent wine pairings were only exceeded by the outstanding and artistically presented food. High dining has finally arrived to the Cotswolds. Treat yourself — you won’t be disappointed!

One of the best restaurants in the country. Every dish on the tasting menu is inventive and delicious, and uses top-quality produce. I always look forward to eating here and I am never disappointed. Absolutely brilliant little place, one not to be missed.

Fabulous flavours and wonderful textures - also for vegetarians We had heard great things about Henne, but our evening exceeded expectations in every respect. We both had the vegetarian menu, and the drinks pairing to go with it. Don't miss the drinks pairing - the six wines were superb, and brought out aromas and flavours in the food that we would otherwise have missed. The bread and butter set the tone! It was the best bread we have had for years, served perfectly warm with a moreish smoked salt butter. Incredible what a master chef can do to make bread and butter 'not-so-humble'! Evesham asparagus were cooked to perfection with rich hollandaise off-set beautifully by pink gratefruit - it may sound strange, but it was beautiful. We moved through themed dishes based on seasonal vegetables - first peas where a rich pea panna cotta combined sumptuously with pea sorbet fresh tender baby peas and peashoots to be much more than the sum of its parts. The flavours of new Cornish potato were off-set by the rich sumptuous sauce and tart apple. Again, the flavours combined to a great deal more than the sum of its parts! The same went for for the Brocoli which revealed a whole new palate of subtle flavours, not least through its pairing with a particularly delicious German Riesling from the Pfalz. Cabbage and wild garlic converted me to cabbage - and the optional cheese course converted me to cheese courses though I usually avoid them! A particularly succulent Oxford Blue was paired with a sumptious Earl Grey tea loaf. We opted for the recommended 20 year old Tawny Port with the cheese! And OH BOY!!! Do splash out on the cheese course (an additional £10) and the wine to go with it! It is absolutely sensational! At this point, we thought it couldn’t get any better! But the desert was a fitting finale to a truly wonderful meal. The aromas and flavours of both chocolate and coffee were rich and sumptuous, yet the desert was light and playful! This was not a cheap meal, but it was a triumph of flavour, aromas and textures. It was also a tour de force of great local produce - and what a superb chef can do with even relatively humble ingredients. The artistry and excellence of the kitchen side was matched by the calm, relaxing and cheerful vibe of the restaurant itself. Nick was superb at front of house, keen to share his great knowledge and fondness of the wines as well as the food, but also discreet, enabling his guests to pace their meal and enjoy the ambience! This is easily the best dining experience in Moreton-in-Marsh or its vicinity at the moment! Five stars happily given - we will be back! Well done guys!

A gem of a place. Amazing food served with with the style and grace. A must when you are in the area.

Often second visits can be fraught with high expectations and hope that the freshness and spontaneity of the first visit can be reproduced . Well I’m very glad to say that second time around was every bit as good as our first visit. Nick welcomed my wife and I back as if we were regulars and put us both very much at ease. Whilst Nick looks after the front of house and bar area, measuring out the wines with laser accuracy, in order that the full glasses look like a regiment of soldiers standing to attention, Darren is in the kitchen preparing some really wonderful, locally sourced culinary delights. It’s no wonder that this duo are now listed in the Michelin Guide and that The Times listed them in their top 25 new restaurants. And this is thing, it’s just the two of them, working incredibly hard to deliver food which is head and shoulders above so many other local establishments. There’s no huge kitchen brigade or front of house team, just Nick & Darren doing their very best and their best is brilliant. The menu was as ever well balanced and wonderfully executed. I should mention too that Darren covers all the various disciplines in the kitchen with aplomb. As mentioned before. We’d definitely recommend the wine pairing, it really does add an extra dimension and Nick guides you through the choices well. So, if you’re looking for a good relaxed environment, friendly warm welcome and wonderful food, than you’d be hard pushed to find anything a lot better in a fair radius from Moreton.

We visited Henne last Thursday (27/1/22) for my wife's birthday and we had the most amazing experience. All six courses were amazing (I had the blue cheese 7th too) and we also had the wine flight which was so well thought out. We both have never had a dining experience such as this. Well do Nick and Darren, good luck for the future and hopefully, we'll be back. 10/10

Henne is a truly excellent restaurant. As a relatively fussy eater (the kind who fears dinner parties), I was naturally worried about a tasting menu. But one of the great things about Henne was that the sample menus demonstrate the transparency of what you are going to have. There are no secretly added flourishes - why bother when the explicit menu is so excellent? The paired wines were a complete delight and this was further improved by the exposition of origin, tasting notes and general discussion with both owners. Darren and Nick were wonderful hosts, alternately serving our courses. I can’t fault the restaurant on any level and the excellence of the entire experience served to entirely quash my sadness at being stung by a wasp as we got into our taxi (I know, in November! I was surprised too). Suffice it to say, I would thoroughly recommend this wonderful establishment to anyone looking for a place to go for a special occasion. You won’t be disappointed!

Outstanding addition to the local restaurant scene. Fabulous tasting menu beautifully prepared and cooked using local produce. Having moved to the Cotswolds from London it's great to find a restaurant of this quality locally.

New restaurant which is surely the best one in the Cotswold town of Moreton in Marsh. Only 14 covers where front of house Nick welcomes guests and looks after you throughout the evening. Chef Darren brings out each course during the evening. Tasting menu beautifully presented with matching wines. Food is excellent and thoughtfully prepared. Watch this place as it could easily achieve a Michelin Star in the coming years. You are really made to feel at home in this restaurant on the main street.

An incredible dining experience. Restaurant Henne is a absolute must for those craving quality food, sourced locally, and prepared and presented to perfection and at a very sensible price. Chef Darren and restaurateur Nick have created a wonderful offering in the heart of Moreton-In-Marsh, which looks and feels as great as the dishes it serves. It will take the local dining scene by storm. We had their tasting menu. It was incredible, but I won’t spoil the surprise. Just book for yourselves, but do it soon, otherwise you might have a long wait!
