The Shack

Wellswood, Torbay
19/06/2018: Just took the family for a Sunday carvery at the Shack. A well organised event no queing as we were invited up by table so not rushed. The roast was great the best in Torquay the meats were carved fresh and plentiful then help your self to veg and all the trimmings. All the family had a great time and will being going back again.
17/06/2018: It’s been a while since I was last at The Shack but again it was absolutely amazing. The service is still great and friendly and the burgers are second to none. The Yabba Dabba is beyond delicious and whilst a pretty indulgent treat, worth every penny.

East India Cafe

Lansdown, Cheltenham, 30-45£
21/06/2018: I couldn't fault the service or the food one bit! The lady was very attentive and we tasted the house gin with its botanicals and thoroughly enjoyed the whole 4 hours we were there.
20/06/2018: Such a modest name for a really great restaurant. We had dinner at the East India and it was just perfect. We had the tasting menu which was just excellent, will go again in the autumn.

Saint Smokeys Bbq House

Westgate, Canterbury
19/06/2018: Great meal, it's not fancy food but it's excellent quality and it tastes wonderful. We had a seat outside and enjoyed the food in the sunshine. Everything was really flavoursome but not everything was spicy. There are options if you don't like spice. I can highly recommend it and we are planning to go back again on our next visit to Canterbury.
18/06/2018: Tasty food, although I ordered something too spicy. Tasty hot tasty hot tasty hot - yummy - would defo recommend for a lunch

Mini Bar Glasgow

Anderston / City, Glasgow City, <20£
20/06/2018: Went today 20 th June . We were going to see sunshine on leith at the theratre. So we parked the car and this place just happened to be right beside where we parked. It's tucked away downstairs but it says it's extending upstairs and so it should. Very talented people work here. Place was spotless. Even Billy's Connolly blathering on the radio just in the toilets how cool. We had the well priced Pre-theratre menu . Wife had duck parcels man they were good with a bit of spicy sauce mmmm so good. I had trio of haggis even better than the duck and that's sum going. Good menu lots of choice salmon , steaks etc. But I stuck to old faithful the burger and I could of tasted the best burger in Britain ,. The size of the burger it's massive fresh beef no frozen crap, haggis , cheese , bacon jam, and purple slaw got to be honest purple slaw it was ok wife said it was gorgeous but it wasn't needed and i quickly put it on wife,s plate. Now she had star of the show the main headline act pork belly wow it was good came with black pudding cooked just right , dauphinois potatoes again perfectly cooked probably in top 3 meals she has ever eaten in her life. Had to have a desert apple crumble it was so light and lovely it's a explosion of tastes as you eat it. The server was very well , very clean , chatty , drinks not over priced, who would of guessed Glasgow has such amazing restaurant downstairs in bath street it should be shouted about . Well done and thank you it was a privilege to pay you at the end of a wonderful meal .
19/06/2018: I booked a meal for 14 people, the booking process was pretty easy, just needed to make sure everyone had preordered what they wanted as the kitchen is small so the staff needed to make sure they had enough of everything in. They were quick to respond to any questions i had over email.

Verna's Pepper Shack

Berry Head-with-Furzeham, Torbay
16/06/2018: Visited this restaurant as we were after something different after endless amount of seafood - this place didn't disappoint. Had some delicious jerk chicken, rice and peas and a lovely dark and stormy cocktail. The owner also kindly gave us some bonus apple and garlic pholourie which was a treat - thank you. My boyfriend also really enjoyed the dumplings.
04/06/2018: We visit Brixham at least once a year - love it. This is always the first place we visit for dinner. Such amazing food. The Lamb Shank was amazing, but as are all meals. We try something different every time. If in Brixham - you must visit this unique restaurant. Thanks again for a lovely meal, we look forward to visiting again next year.

Kazan

Warwick, City of London,Westminster, >100£
19/06/2018: You get what you pay for so if the price is putting you off, don't worry, the food is definitely worth it. This was my second visit and again I wasn't disappointed as the food tasted freshly prepared which is a rarity in London. Calamari is a must-try as well as Meze.
18/06/2018: Last year, we came here on the 13th february and this year we did the same, as we both work together on the 14th so its difficult to get time off.

The Nook

Lynton and Lynmouth, North Devon
12/06/2018: Enjoyed The Nook so much we went consecutive nights in a 5 day holiday. Wise to book and the restaurant doesn't have a drinks licence so if required pop in the nearby supermarket and the Nook will provide glasses etc and even chill the bottles....
11/06/2018: 10 of my family came to celebrate my birthday. We pre-ordered our food but were able to choose some "specials" which were available on the night. This restaurant does not have a drinks licence so we brought our own wine in a coolbag. The food...

Home Farm Cafe

Bovey, Teignbridge, <20£
20/06/2018: My mother was up from Cornwall visiting and we decided to come here to walk the dogs. Being local ourselves, we have been here a few times and have stopped for a coffee. First time we enjoyed the wonderful cream and cheese teas though, just gorgeous! Very impressed. Generous portions and mum loved it too. Will definitely return for another one soon.
19/06/2018: I have been to home Farm cafe 4 times for their evening meal, each time they have been delicious. It is a set meal with produce all being local. Everyone has the same starter, main meal and desserts you have a choice

The Wellington Arms

Baughurst and Tadley North, Basingstoke and Deane, 30-45£
20/06/2018: Excellent in every respect, cannot fault any aspect of the offering. Meticulous attention to detail was evident everywhere!
19/06/2018: We stayed here with friends for an overnight stop with dinner. We had the Cartlodge, they had the Apartment. The rooms have been converted and decorated to a very high standard. All mod-cons including a smart TV and a very good shower (although as ever I'd prefer a bath!). The pub itself is very pretty surrounded by beautiful gardens which mix flowers with food crops in an interesting and very pretty way. Dinner was very good indeed - my cold pea soup followed by rack of lamb was almost faultless. Husband had scallops followed by steak which he professed to be fabulous. Our friends both had calves liver main which looked and was reported to be beautiful. A selection of home made ice creams for dessert and we retired very well fed indeed. Breakfast (ordered the night before) was very good - again top quality food prepared very well. We particularly enjoyed the basket of bread and own toaster on the table to make toast at the speed you wanted to eat it. All in all this was a lovely stay and we will definitely be back., Not at all cheap with the rooms being £200 each B&B; and dinner costing just over £300 for 4 people, but top notch food and accommodation and very friendly service. Highly recommended for dinner if you are in the area.

18/06/2018: Called in yesterday at 3,00pm for Sunday lunch. The waitress was with us very quickly to take our drinks order and, as we were ready, our food order. The food did not seem to take long to arrive. I had steak pie with roasties and fresh veg while my friend had the hungrymans breakfast. As usual it was delicious and we managed to clean our plates. The food is always freshly cooked using good quality ingredients and the staff are so friendly. A great place to eat at any time of the day.

James Street South

Shaftesbury, Belfast
20/06/2018: Had a meal here last week with catering students from SWC Dungannon as an end of year treat with their hard earned tips, and what a treat it was! Staff were most welcoming, service was excellent, restaurant pristine as always and food was delicious - still talking about the beef and buttery champ! A great opportunity for our students to experience fine dining and encourage them to further their skills.
20/06/2018: Fantastic evening. Went for a 50th birthday celebration. Staff and food was really good. Definitely will be back.

Severn & Wye Smokery

Newnham and Westbury, Forest of Dean
21/06/2018: Celebrating a birthday there. Great new dining environment, rather noisy perhaps due to the acoustics.
19/06/2018: We were introduced to this lovely modern restaurant by friends, who had lunched here and wished to try out the evening service. The room is bright and has an open kitchen. The starters were generous, but not over-filling. My monk fish was delicious, easy to remove from the bone and served on tasty samphire, but hardly discernible crushed potato. It really didn't need the recommended sauce, but I was pleased to share my husband's new potatoes. My friend's kedgeree was piled high, which she found rather daunting to tackle, but she said it had lovely flavours. My husband was delighted with his hake, although it was a bit bony, and enthused over the summer vegetables. The ice-cream and sorbet were delicious and my husband enjoyed his mango bavarois. We were disappointed afterwards to realise that we hadn't been given our chocolates with the coffee, so remember to ask! Apparently the shop is worth a visit, but was unfortunately shut by the time we arrived.
