La Flambe Restaurant

Kington, Wiltshire
13/03/2021: Had an early Mother’s Day takeaway and the food as always was fab. The instructions just in case the food wasn’t hot by the time you got to your second course were a helpful touch. Thoroughly enjoyed and a welcome change during lockdown. Thank you, would highly recommend
16/02/2021: Booked for 6 pm, very quick service, excellent meal, can’t wait for the next takeaway. We have never been disappointed at the La Flambe, we are extremely lucky to live nearby, so can enjoy this excellent restaurant often.

Julien Plumart Cafe

St. Peter's and North Laine, Brighton and Hove
03/04/2021: Always going there when in Brighton. Great tasting coffee and food.
19/03/2021: All is beautiful, good service, clean, and lovely coffee and food, very tasty, specially the toaster croissants and sandwiches, highly recommended

Quite Simply French

Castle, Lancaster, 45-60£
13/03/2021: We were really disappointed we are still in lockdown as this time last year we went here for a meal for my partner's birthday treat as we do most years. We ordered from the takeaway menu and was really impressed with the quality of the food. Just a shame we didn't have the lovely staff to serve it to us.Would highly recommend it. We both had the tartiflette which was chicken, bacon, mushroom, and potato in a cheese sauce with herb crust to start that was so tasty. Then I had the lamb that was so tender it just fell off the bone and I always love the dauphinoise potatoes and the roasted veg and my partner had the lobster. We both finished off with the sticky toffee pudding which was so yummy. Mmmmm. We even had two little chocolate-type truffles for after with coffee. Very impressed with it all. Can't wait for when it reopens again and we can go for the squiffy menu.
07/03/2021: I've avoided QSF for many years. A couple of visits many moons ago where I ended up with food that was so over-salted as to be almost inedible left a (literal) bad taste in my mouth. Similar observations from friends over the years tended to reinforce that those initial impressions.Wind the clock forward and after a year of on-and-off lockdown my tastebuds were craving something new. So it was with trepidation I decided to give their take-away menu a whirl. The order for my partner and I was halloumi fries, pork belly starter, pork loin steak, lamb shank and Dauphinoise potatoes.Delivery to the boot of my car was quick and painless. On unwrapping I wqs impressed with the portion was going hungry that night!. The halloumi fries were perfect, though a little more garlicky kick in the aioli would have been appreciated. The pork belly with supposedly crispy crackling was almost large enough to be a main course. The pork was nicely cooked, though I think that a stronger flavour pork was needed to stand out against the puy lentil casoulet. Perhaps wild boar or dial back on the lentils? The crispy crackling wasn't and was much closer to something that originated in Fort Dunlop, unfortunately. The mains were superb. My partner had the huge pork loin steak on a bed of savoy cabbage. It really was a lovely dish. My lamb shank was cooked to perfection and was everything that you could ask for from slow-cooked meat. Rich, decadent, unctuous with a wonderful mouth feel. Terrific! Finally, the potato Daupinoise was also superb.Overall I was impressed with the flavours, presentation, quantity and overall experience. A little tweak with the starters and this would easily have been a 5 star review. Finally, it looks like a good effort has been made to make sure the packaging materials are recyclable. Well done on that point!

Chez Dominique

Abbey, Bath and North East Somerset
23/01/2021: Very reasonably priced French restaurant. Great service and good food. Can't wait for it to open again after lockdown
28/12/2020: This relaxed French restaurant near Pulteney Bridge is deservedly popular and the menu is great value for the quality. I was less impressed by the wines available by the glass: the white that I chose lacked freshness and the red was merely alcoholic. But the food I ordered (duck terrine followed by pheasant with black pudding) was extremely good.

Guildhall, York, 20-30£
02/01/2021: My husband, son and I had booked a table for Christmas Day. Frankly, we were delighted that the restaurant could open at all - given this year’s bumpy ride for the hospitality industry. We’d probably have been happy with a bowl of soup followed by a yoghurt so long as a Christmas cracker was involved. We have visited Rustique many times and love its relaxing atmosphere and consistently delicious food. Their Christmas feast was absolutely delicious - with jingle bells on! Wow. I had a beautifully chilled and delicately flavoured salmon starter, followed by an extremely generously-sized fillet steak, cooked perfectly, accompanied by tasty veg and a beautifully rich gravy/jus. The service was, as always, perfect - polite, prompt, always someone unobtrusively on hand . We were delighted. Thank you!
30/12/2020: We visited as a family of four and the set menu offered amazing value for money and I couldn’t believe the choice and quality of the dishes on it. It felt like we had chosen a la Carte courses of Mussels and goats cheese starters and duck main course and sea bass main course for set menu prices. They created whatever the children wanted, which was pasta dishes and the place is very cosy and Covid friendly with lovely staff. Stayed at the Hilton so literally just steps away. Would definitely recommend.

Cote Brasserie - Leamington Spa

Clarendon, Warwick
17/11/2020: Unfortunately had ran out of a lot of items on the menu. There was barely anything to choose from. I appreciate they were running down in preparation for Lockdown however, they still had another few nights they would be open. Food was okay but nothing special. Staff were very friendly though.
02/11/2020: I took my partner for our 1 year anniversary and had asked for some special arrangements we arrived to have a perfect table for 2 sprinkled with confetti and a card from the team wishing us a happy anniversary and a great stay with them we were then greeted with 2 glasses of fizz and then met the young man that serviced who’s name I can’t remember who had amazing service and made us feel very welcome with his bubble vibe. We had fillet steak which was amazing and to die for (highly recommend) then proceed to dessert my partner had a plate that wrote happy one year in chocolate and the best wafer biscuit We had the best stay and meal ever and would highly highly recommend going to cotè as couple’s family or friends Thank you so much everyone for the best evening and we will be back again very soon

Gauthier Soho

West End, City of London,Westminster, 60-100£
01/03/2021: I order a box of Gauthier home last week and it’s was absolutely delicious ! This restaurant it’s one of my favourites in Uk and I was very happy to find out there are doing home delivery! Thé 8 courses was delicious, from the famous faux gras to the main and oui drink everything was tasty, and so good. The portions was for. 4 peoples, we was only. 2 and we have to split the box it’s 2 days ! For the price they offers, we have to lovely dinners for 2 ! I order the next one already ! Best vegan box ever
19/02/2021: Having been to this restaurant many, many times and enjoyed all sorts of wonderful food, I find out that today they have turned vegan only. It turns out if you even have an opinion about this, you are deemed a cannibal and the back lash you get for any feedback is that of a cyber hater. I am sorry I ever enjoyed a bowl of fish soup at your restaurant, good luck. I won’t be back. Iain Cameron

French Affaire

Stony Stratford, Milton Keynes
08/01/2021: Had a fabulous takeaway tasting menu for my hubands 60th birthday. Having fine dining at home in lockdown, made the day really special. Very accommodating for gluten free requirements too. Would definitely use again & highly recommend
02/01/2021: Had to sit outside due to covid,we had blankets and a heater,it was a really nice atmosphere, the food was lovely and staff were great definitely go again

Lansdown, Cheltenham
19/03/2021: Following recommendations, we booked the set two-course dinner for two, plus the delectable chocolate mousse - all delicious, well presented and ready to eat the minute we returned home. We also appreciated the tasty 'amuses bouches' - a nice touch. The website is clear, easy to navigate and we received a very speedy reply from Elisabeth, confirming our booking. Staff at the restaurant were charming and the whole experience a delight, which we are looking forward to repeating very soon!
15/03/2021: We collected our Sunday lunch. It was beautifully presented and in perfect condition. The starters were absolutely delicious and beautiful to look at. We appreciated the great attention to detail. The high point was the main course . The lamb was divine and the vegetables quite perfect. The dessert was delicious too. Altogether a very memorable treat after the straitlaced lifestyle of Lockdown.

The Game Cock Inn

Ingleton and Clapham, Craven
25/03/2021: Absolutely fantastic homemade classic food. Excellent menu and family friendly. The best cakes, pastries and chocolate éclairs in the Yorkshire Dale's. Highly recommended.

Creperie Chez Yves

Penge and Cator, Bromley
07/03/2021: We have had take away/cook at home food from Creperie Chez yves a few times in the last few months of lockdown and it is all really delicious, great value and a treat to have at home. We can’t wait to visit properly when restaurants open up!
07/02/2021: Tried this after an ad popped up on Facebook. The food all comes ready to cook or reheat at home with everything you need.We tried the escargot which were freshly prepared garlicky and delicious. The confit de canard was stunning.Price wise this was an absolute bargain. I would highly recommend and will be ordering for valentines night!

Edie's Kitchen

St Austell Bay, Cornwall,Isles of Scilly
04/11/2020: We dropped into the area for a weekend break and were recommended this restaurant. Located at the end of a small, understated parade of shops we may easily have walked past if we hadn't already booked and what a mistake that would have been. Service excellent but the food was amazing and really made our day. Delicious oxtail starter which I never wanted to end. Fish cooked to perfection and each plate was simply excellent in its simplicity and combination of flavours. It was food that puts a smile on your face - already planning to go back next year.
04/11/2020: We spent a very pleasant lunchtime at this restaurant. The service was excellent, the staff were very amenable and the food we had was fabulous. We had the vegetarian menu which had flare and imagination, this is such a change. If anyone wants a very enjoyable brunch, lunch or dinner don’t hesitate to try Edie’s.

Borrowdale Gates Hotel Restaurant

Derwent Valley, Allerdale
17/11/2020: Wonderful afternoon tea, panoramic views from every window. Lovely hotel, attentive staff. Will definitely return.
10/11/2020: A great stop off for a hot chocolate with complimentary shortbread and the fire on

Cote Brasserie - Peterborough

Central, Peterborough
20/12/2020: Went to celebrate my wife's birthday. From the moment we stepped in the front door we were very well looked after. All the staff were really friendly and what was nice was they were all smiling. We had the set menu 2 courses and we were not disappointed. The steaks were probably the best we have had in Peterborough. You dont need to chew it as it just melted. Highly recommended. A big thank you for making my wife feel special.
17/12/2020: The best place in Peterborough to feel spoilt. In these trying times they have gone the extra mile to make your visit a special and safe one. Food and ambience are exceptional, staff really friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. Would highly recommend.

Market Kitchen

Ashton, Wigan
10/12/2020: Lovely restaurant, we've always enjoyed our visits.
30/10/2020: The restaurant felt very safe and was following all the COVID regulations. For starters I had the parsnip soup which was great and my dad got the black pudding salad which he loved. For mains I was a bit fussy as there is a limited choice but the chef was happy to make something from their other menu for me. The staff were lovely and friendly, always ready to help and even made us cocktails which were on the drinks menu. Overall a really good night and as they have different offers on each night it’s not a bad price too.
