This is the third time we have visited here and we received a lovely welcome as always . The meal was beautiful and the staff were very friendly and helpful . To round of the evening George came out and spoke to everyone at the tables to make sure everything was OK with meals etc. A lovely touch to actually the chef/ owner . Lovely evening. Will be going again.

I came with a group of friends at the weekend and the moment we arrived till when we left the whole crew were very attentive & friendly. What i loved the most was the owner/chef came and greeted us too which was a nice touch, it made us feel special, Food was stunning , really well presented, The wine was gorgeous. I have tried to get in again this coming weekend but your fully booked which am not surprised about at all with how lovely it is. Hopefully see you again soon . Thank you for a nice evening

Wow! Yet another visit and it just keeps getting better! Had a fab Sunday dinner, Starters were tasty with good size portions, the Dinner was delicious with the most tender beef and we squeezed a Dessert in. The Blood Orange Cake with mini soaked figs and yoghurt was amazing!

Absolutely fantastic food and service.

What an enjoyable evening at Lowe’s. The food was fantastic, fabulous flavours, the atmosphere was chilled and we did not feel rushed. It’s lovely that George, the owner and chef, takes the time to come to your table to chat with his easy, friendly manner which is really natural. We will be back.

Excellent food and drink as always

Mid week treat. 4 like minded friends had very good food, as always, a beautiful South African Chenin Blanc ( and a bottle of delicious red Greek wine) and a very interesting pear dessert wine - oh, and a taxi home! Great service, friendly staff, great chat with George himself, and a most enjoyable night We are regular diners there, but it is for a reason- it is difficult to beat.

I first visited Lowes on Carter St on Valentines Day 2024 and was delighted with the whole experience. We subsequently had lunch, then dinner with various friends, attending every month almost without exception. The cosy entrance and warm welcome, A genuine buzz to the venue, intimate and classy, the serving staff are independently minded and always of sincere, caring, pleasant disposition. The food is always top notch, beautifully presented, delicious and interesting, The owner George is incredible, he always comes to the table to provide, insight, advice and take an interest in the people dining. Nothing is too much trouble, he will ensure that everyone is completely satisfied with the food and service. I've lived in Uttoxeter for 18 years and still cannot believe that we have (at last!) A genuinely brilliant Restaurant, where I am proud to take all our friends and family. Food highlights include the best Sunday lunch, it is brilliant, the gravy is worth the visit alone! I love the butter chicken and can never decide which dessert to have they are all always delicious. When steak is on the menu, it has been perfect. The drinks menu is very impressive. I enjoyed a gingerbread cocktail and a limited edition, top notch white wine from George's own personal collection. I have tried to think of some critical points but after 14 visits I the last year I can't, and I can't wait to visit more in 2025. The team are a credit to the town and they also lead the charitable effort at Christmas.

Just a note to say a really heartwarming thank you to all the staff in the excellent service we received on our visit yesterday. My daughter and son-in-law both thought we had found a hidden gem which is credit to your establishment (they are used to eating at high quality restaurants in their home town Los Angeles US) all the staff were welcoming and attentive and it was especially nice to see the chef at the table, the words absolutely superb, delicious and amazing were echoed throughout the meal at every course. Our guests from Yorkshire said they had a fabulous Sunday lunch today, we were treated extremely well throughout our visit by all staff. Thank you George & team for another top meal.

Christmas pudding was delicious - but I'm afraid that is where my positive comments end. We were seated in the window which was absolutely freezing. We ordered drinks which took over 45 mins to arrive. (However, the waiting staff did remove these from the bill). Main course (veggie wellington) was little more than a pre-bought pasty and flavours were overpowered by the gravy (my portion alone contained 14 cloves of garlic which didn't even get a mention on the menu). This is my first visit to Lowe's and it is safe to say, I won't be visiting again.

Immediately after arriving we were greeted by staff offering to take our coats. We were then even given a bag hook so our bags didn’t have to go on the floor. The owner George was kind enough to introduce himself and tell us all about the history of the restaurant and how he himself makes everything fresh from scratch in the kitchen. Staff were wonderful. Food was delightful. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a well priced fancy evening out

What a find! A warm welcome greeted us, followed by attentive and friendly service. The atmosphere was warm and relaxed. We had asked for a quiet place (some of us are deaf) and were delighted with a comfortable and quiet table. The star of our evening was the food: thoughtful and delicious, intriguing combinations and beautiful presentations. We all chose different dishes and, of course, tried each other’s. All in all it was a lovely experience, the staff, the ambiance and the food all exceeded our expectations. We have booked again for next month.

I visited Lowe’s for the first time today. Everything here from the food, atmosphere and service were amazing! The pumpkin soup and the roast dinner were some of the nicest food I have ever had! I highly recommend a visit Lowe’s! I guarantee you wont be disappointed.

We had a very enjoyable dining experience at Lowes on Carter Street recently. The food was faultless, the ambience is perfect and all the staff were polite, approachable, friendly and helpful. We particularly liked the fact that the chef (owner) took time out to welcome us personally, and then at the end of service came back into the restaurant to ask how the evening had gone. It's great to have an outstanding restaurant in Uttoxeter and even more so to have it being run by local people. We'll definitely be going back there in the future and would recommend it to anyone.

Came here as a birthday surprise, wonderful warm welcome from Georgie on arrival. We had a nice table, well spaced, and a complimentary drink (it was my birthday 😊). The food was amazing, timely served and well presented. Staff were just perfect, evening was perfect. Many thanks team Lowes, we’ll definitely be back for more tasty treats.

Very well cooked and flavourful food would recommend for anyone looking for something a little more upmarket, only minor things keeping this from a five star review. Cutlery was not replenished between courses so ended up using the same fork for starter and main. Cheeseboard came without a knife but this was quickly remedied by the extremely attentive staff Jade and Rob being standout. Looking forward to trying the other appealing options.

Great food, great atmosphere, great service as always. I loved the sausage and mash and we all loved the sticky toffee - what a treat. All the staff are so friendly and it’s really nice that George comes out to chat with everyone. Special shout out for our waitress Rachel who was both attentive and friendly. Having had the pleasure of working with George and the team for the last 2 weeks I can say what an amazing place and well worth a trip out of your way to experience. The food is 2 Rosettes standard, making the price extremely reasonable for the service and quality. Can genuinely say they can cook a perfect steak having seen for myself.

The food was lovely, the extra gravy was greatly appreciated - you can never have too much gravy! The service was fantastic, everyone one was very friendly and loved the opportunity to speak to George Lowe himself! Excellent recommendation from our server on the wine, when the one we had originally chosen had sold out. Also, had the opportunity to try a chocolate pot that wasn’t on the menu - there were only 2 left and we had both. Overall an excellent restaurant that we will be returning to!

We ate here for Sunday lunch for the second time last weekend. The quality of the food is incredible! George makes sure every plate is wonderful - the Yorkies especially are something to behold! And I'm a big fan of cauliflower cheese. We all had a main course and dessert, leaving very well satisified with our experience and the food. Put it this way - we barely ate again all day! Thank you to George and the team for the effort you put in. We are glad to have discovered this little gem, after walking past many times.

George and his team have made a mark in Uttoxeter, a much needed long waited for restaurant who engage with customers, offer excellent service, homely friendly welcoming and yes the food is brilliant, yes I have been further afield than uttoxeter,and to many Michelin star restaurants, George is on a par with many of these, he is unique. We have visited several times, and taken guests, also George will adapt a meal to suit your needs if you have an allergy. The whole team work hard and work together. I’ve dined at Lowe’s more times than I can count, bringing friends and family to show them how amazing the food and atmosphere is. The Sunday lunch lives up to the standards people rave about - the cauliflower cheese being my personal favourite. The Wednesday and Thursday 2 plates for £25 is something that I personally love as a student as a midweek treat - the team are exceptional and George coming to speak to every table is a lovely touch - see you all soon!

We had the evening special menu for £25.00 each. Choice of both small and main plates offered a vegetarian option, which one suited one of us. The food was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. We enjoyed a bottle of rose wine. Drinks are more expensive but if you have the evening special menu which they serve on Wednesday and Thursday the meal came to just over £80 including the service charge. As always the service was exceptional.
