Just had Sunday lunch here and the staff couldn’t be any more helpful even the owner who is the head chef came and checked up on us twice. Would highly recommend food was top quality.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Myself, my partner and her daughter came to Lowe’s for a Sunday Roast lunch. The food was all cooked perfectly and the beef just fell apart when you cut it. I loved that the chef took the time at the beginning and end of the meal to check everyone was happy. For a small cute little restaurant it packs a punch in high standards and quality. Will come again and highly recommended!!

If I could give Lowe's on Carter Street a 10, I absolutely would—but unfortunately, the rating system only allows for a 5! From start to finish, our experience at this restaurant for my partner’s birthday was nothing short of exceptional. We were welcomed by warm, friendly faces and an atmosphere that couldn’t have been more perfect for a celebration. The menu offered exactly what we were hoping for: an elegant yet laid-back dining experience. This place strikes the ideal balance between fine dining and an inviting, casual setting—it’s truly the kind of spot where everyone can feel like they’re enjoying something special. We were lucky enough to sample nearly the entire menu, paired with some incredible wines that complemented each dish beautifully. The food was absolutely outstanding, delivering on every level: flavor, presentation, and quality. It’s clear that this restaurant has mastered the art of creating a memorable experience. If every town had a place like this, finding a go-to spot for a great meal and a relaxing time would be a breeze. A perfect 10 in my book, and without a doubt, I’ll be back for more. P.S. I booked here for my 27th Wedding anniversary. I had heard great reviews about this restaurant. We were not disappointed. A very warm greeting, lovely resturant, sat in the front in the window. Staff an absolute credit, very polite, attentive, really friendly. Made us both very welcome. The chef (who I think is the owner) came straight out and welcomed us to the restaurant and had a lovely chat with us. Really made us feel at ease. He said he would pop back later, which he surely did, very nice. Food was absolutely stunning, from the starter to dessert. They also gave us a complementary glass of prosecco for our anniversary which was lovely. Will definitely be going back. The restaurant is a credit to Uttoxeter.

The only regret I have about this restaurant is not finding it earlier. Firstly the service and the staff are so friendly and attentive it’s like going round a friends house for some food, you feel right at home straight away. Then the food, every course we had was amazing, the menu offers some traditional options along with some more adventurous offerings. All of which tasted amazing, really good value. Highly recommend!

Two of us ate here tonight and it was busy for a wed night. We both had main courses and a drink. Food was excellent and staff (incl chef) were friwndly and welcoming. £61 is excellent value for money. We will deffo be back

Lowe's is our no1 favourite place for Sunday lunch, we live in Burton and it's the best restaurant around. We recently went to Lowe's for dinner on Friday night, we had the buttermilk chicken, Chicken thigh satay curry & beef cheek with mash. You can't fault the food, it's amazing and so is the service. Our dogs loved joining us for date night too. The staff are lovely, it feels like a really well run place. The margarita's were also 10/10. Can't wait to come back.

We had a wonderful evening at Lowes on Saturday 22 February 2005, the food was as usual superb, the ambience and service second to none. George and his team continue to offer the very best of cuisine in the area rivalling any other restaurant certainly in the County. Any visitor to Staffordshire should include this restaurant in their itinerary whether for lunch or evening meal. Excellent! Lorraine.

The food was really very good, it is a little on the pricey side but well worth it, the service was on the slow side but they seemed busy so I can understand why all in all I would recommend giving this place a try

Wow! What a fantastic evening for our first time here. Wanted to try something a little different, and glad we did. A warm welcome on entrance, quickly seated and looked after from the get go. The atmosphere is cosy, and the food was delicious. I opted for the vegan ‘wings’ as starter and the cauli alternative satay curry. By far the best vegan ‘wings’ I’ve had and I’ve been to a fair few vegan only joints. George and the team have something special here. I’d heard great things about Lowes since they first opened, and after finally visiting, I wish I’d gone sooner! The service was fantastic and the staff are so friendly and welcoming. As for the food… wow. George, you truly know your craft. We had a starter and a main, and it really was exceptionally good. It’s not always easy to find a place that genuinely caters to vegetarians and vegans, so to have a quality meal like this was a real treat. The standout for me was the vegan buttermilk chicken alternative. I’ve tried a lot of plant-based meats over the years, but this was easily one of the best I’ve had. To make an already fantastic experience even better, we were treated to a complimentary glass of bubbly, which was such a lovely touch. I already know we’ll be back again soon!

I came with a group of friends at the weekend and the moment we arrived till when we left the whole crew were very attentive & friendly. What i loved the most was the owner/chef came and greeted us too which was a nice touch, it made us feel special, Food was stunning , really well presented, The wine was gorgeous. Absolutely fantastic food and service.

What an enjoyable evening at Lowe’s. The food was fantastic, fabulous flavours, the atmosphere was chilled and we did not feel rushed. It’s lovely that George, the owner and chef, takes the time to come to your table to chat with his easy, friendly manner which is really natural. We will be back.

Excellent food and drink as always

Mid week treat. 4 like minded friends had very good food, as always, a beautiful South African Chenin Blanc ( and a bottle of delicious red Greek wine) and a very interesting pear dessert wine - oh, and a taxi home! Great service, friendly staff, great chat with George himself, and a most enjoyable night We are regular diners there, but it is for a reason- it is difficult to beat.

I first visited Lowes on Carter St on Valentines Day 2024 and was delighted with the whole experience. We subsequently had lunch, then dinner with various friends, attending every month almost without exception. The cosy entrance and warm welcome, A genuine buzz to the venue, intimate and classy, the serving staff are independently minded and always of sincere, caring, pleasant disposition. The food is always top notch, beautifully presented, delicious and interesting, The owner George is incredible, he always comes to the table to provide, insight, advice and take an interest in the people dining. Nothing is too much trouble, he will ensure that everyone is completely satisfied with the food and service. I've lived in Uttoxeter for 18 years and still cannot believe that we have (at last!) A genuinely brilliant Restaurant, where I am proud to take all our friends and family. Food highlights include the best Sunday lunch, it is brilliant, the gravy is worth the visit alone! I love the butter chicken and can never decide which dessert to have they are all always delicious. When steak is on the menu, it has been perfect. The drinks menu is very impressive. I enjoyed a gingerbread cocktail and a limited edition, top notch white wine from George's own personal collection. I have tried to think of some critical points but after 14 visits I the last year I can't, and I can't wait to visit more in 2025. The team are a credit to the town and they also lead the charitable effort at Christmas.

Just a note to say a really heartwarming thank you to all the staff in the excellent service we received on our visit yesterday. My daughter and son-in-law both thought we had found a hidden gem which is credit to your establishment (they are used to eating at high quality restaurants in their home town Los Angeles US) all the staff were welcoming and attentive and it was especially nice to see the chef at the table, the words absolutely superb, delicious and amazing were echoed throughout the meal at every course. Christmas pudding was delicious - but I'm afraid that is where my positive comments end. We were seated in the window which was absolutely freezing. We ordered drinks which took over 45 mins to arrive. (However, the waiting staff did remove these from the bill). Main course (veggie wellington) was little more than a pre-bought pasty and flavours were overpowered by the gravy (my portion alone contained 14 cloves of garlic which didn't even get a mention on the menu). This is my first visit to Lowe's and it is safe to say, I won't be visiting again.

Immediately after arriving we were greeted by staff offering to take our coats. We were then even given a bag hook so our bags didn’t have to go on the floor. The owner George was kind enough to introduce himself and tell us all about the history of the restaurant and how he himself makes everything fresh from scratch in the kitchen. Staff were wonderful. Food was delightful. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a well priced fancy evening out

What a find! A warm welcome greeted us, followed by attentive and friendly service. The atmosphere was warm and relaxed. We had asked for a quiet place (some of us are deaf) and were delighted with a comfortable and quiet table. The star of our evening was the food: thoughtful and delicious, intriguing combinations and beautiful presentations. We all chose different dishes and, of course, tried each other’s. All in all it was a lovely experience, the staff, the ambiance and the food all exceeded our expectations. We have booked again for next month.

We had a very enjoyable dining experience at Lowes on Carter Street recently. The food was faultless, the ambience is perfect and all the staff were polite, approachable, friendly and helpful. We particularly liked the fact that the chef (owner) took time out to welcome us personally, and then at the end of service came back into the restaurant to ask how the evening had gone. It's great to have an outstanding restaurant in Uttoxeter and even more so to have it being run by local people. We'll definitely be going back there in the future and would recommend it to anyone.
