14/09/2020: had the vegetable sushi, seafood ramen, and pork ramen. Was honestly so delicious. Everytime I go there the food is delicious and beautifully presented. The waiters and waitresses are polite and attentive. The owner and cook deserve the 5 stars on the food alone, the service adds an additional 5 stars! Definitely will be going back and would tell everyone to go there.

Sushi Me Rollin'

Westgate, Newcastle upon Tyne
17/08/2020: I had heard so many good things about this place and was so excited to try it as I love sushi. However we were left really disappointed as we were told that they could not cater to anyone with a shellfish allergy. We ended up eating elsewhere. This is not an issue I have come up against in other sushi restaurants, so was surprised that there appeared to be no options whatsoever to cater for those with allergies. I appreciate that the kitchen is small and especially with COVID-19 restrictions, it is difficult to cater for everyone. However, we had checked the website prior to visiting and it stated that customers should let staff know about any dietary requirements. It would be more clear, and would save disappointment, to state that they cannot currently cater for allergies.
17/08/2020: Fantastic food service & presentation. Definitely worth a visit this month when half price! Chefs selection more than enough for 2 people.

Kyoto Kitchen

St Bartholomew, Winchester, 45-60£
29/08/2020: This place is an amazing find in Winchester. Delicious and authentic food, cosy atmosphere and wonderful waiting staff. Our wonderful waitress Mayumi was an absolute joy and a credit to the restaurant. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone.P.S. one of our friends is vegan and they had a great array of options for her.
27/08/2020: Maiko San made my night. Beautiful cozy atmosphere. Incredible plates with quality st the right price. A roasted Sweet aubergine with mizo sauce was my preferred one. Row blue tuna out of the cart with wazabi sauce instantly made on the table. Row beef and California rolls and beautiful fried squid. Hot sake at the end. Such a beautiful experience!!

Yoku Sushi

Devonshire, Eastbourne
13/09/2020: In its third year now, Yoku Sushi is establishing itself as an important fixture in a town which has been unfamiliar with Japanese food. We had a very light, crisp mixed tempura, excellent nori maki and two very good noodle dishes. The kimchi soup and noodles was particularly good. Service was excellent, the staff very nice. Covid measures were carefully done without getting in the way. They deserve to do very well. Highly recommended.
07/09/2020: We visited this restaurant based solely on Tripadvisor reviews and boy we were not disappointed. The food was gorgeous and the staff were very friendly and attentive, prices were very reasonable. If I am ever back in Eastbourne I will definitely be back. Thank you for a delicious meal!!

DOMO Japanese Cuisine

Low Harrogate, Harrogate
01/09/2020: Found this gem of a place tucked away near an antique shop. The interior was nicely done, food was nice and fresh and service was superb.
27/08/2020: Went to Harrogate for the weekend and tried to get in here for dinner. I would love to be able to rate the food but unfortunately after phoning the restaurant numerous times throughout the day, we couldn’t get a booking because they never answered the phone or appeared to leave it off the hook a few times. So we thought we would chance our arm and go to the restaurant to check if they had any tables. My partner went in and asked if it was possible to get a table for two. He was told to try again later that night. So he asked could he book a table for later that night then they changed their mind, they were fully booked and basically escorted him out of the restaurant and shut the door behind us. We were left very confused wondering if we’d done something wrong but we hadn’t. Was a very rude experience and we were both left feeling annoyed.

The Sushi Maki

Victoria, West Berkshire
09/09/2020: Lovely food /very fresh/great presentation/attentive staff It was our first visit and we are already looking forward to going back Thank you !!!!!!
03/09/2020: Sushi Maki has been and always will be a FIRM Family Favourite and was our go to place for a take out straight after lock-down. Expectations were high and they surpassed themselves in all things Sushi. We ordered a Sushi Platter and the selection was sublime, proper effort and skill had been applied – no corners cut and the result was perfection.Ordering & paying on the phone was no problem, collection was easy, value for money, and happy Customers - WIN WIN WIN.Well done Sushi Maki, Lovely Meal – See you again very soon - Pandemic or not !

Ebi Sushi Restaurant

Arboretum, Derby
18/09/2020: Ebi Sushi is our favourite place to eat in Derbyshire and the best place for Japanese food in the Midlands. The place is lovely and authentic (a little quirky) need to dress up. There is a casual environment (Don’t expect much in terms of interior design) but the food is taken very serious! Ask for help with the menu (and how to eat) if you are a novice; staff are very nice. Prices vary depending on what you order but it can rack up quickly. Lots of yummy hot dishes and veggie options if you don’t fancy raw fish.
13/09/2020: Very low key, informal restaurant in one of the less desirable parts of Derby City Centre. Make sure you don't dress up to go there! But what a gem of Japanese food.Order what the chef feels is the freshest fish and relax.Fatty Tuna, Salmon, Scallops...all have been the stars on different nights we have visited.

Drgnfly Pan-Asian Restaurant & Bar

Parkstone, Poole
23/09/2020: I was fortunate enough to be able to celebrate my 40th birthday dinner party in the private dining room at Drgnfly with sole access to the rear terrace. Given I was celebrating during lock down it was very difficult to find a venue that would cater for my guests but everyone at Drgnfly went above and beyond to ensure I had the best night possible and at the same time totally following government guidelines. From arranging my guests arrival and the seating to ensure everyone was Covid safe, to drinks on arrival, the excellent food, stunning cocktails, brilliant service and the genuine care that was put in to making my night so memorable - it will never be forgotten and I just am so very grateful to the entire team!I had been to Drgnfly numerous times before but none of my guests had and they were blown away by the entire experience from the decor to the dessert.I can't recommend Drgnfly highly enough whatever the occasion and there is no place like it for miles - it really is one of kind and one of Dorset's gems!
21/09/2020: This was the second time I had visited Drgnfly and it was even better than my first visit. We came for a birthday meal and the whole evening was just amazing. The staff couldn't do enough for us and the food was well presented and tasted even better. I can not recommend this place enough and will make sure that I come back and visit as often as I possibly can.

Sticks'N'Sushi Covent Garden

St James's, City of London,Westminster
31/08/2020: I’ve been here a few times and always enjoyed it. We usually stick to sushi but this time I ordered a few sticks. When the waitress asked if I enjoyed them I said we did apart from one which we weren’t keen on. Instead of acknowledging this she ignored our comment and walked off. I then saw her talking about us to another waiter and she looked embarrassed when she saw me looking. Don’t ask customers if they are enjoying their food if you’re not interested in the answer! Apart
30/08/2020: Loved our sushi, particularly the Ebi Panko Kaburimaki and the Inari Ngiri. We also enjoyed the cauliflower with truffle goma and the broccoli. Everything was fresh and well-prepared. Good service; pleasant attentive staff. Great place, will return.

Etsu Japanese Restaurant

Central, Liverpool, <20£
11/09/2020: My fiancé and I visited for my birthday, I had been wanting to visit for a while and honestly wish I would have sooner! The food was just incredible l, we ordered Yakitori and Karaage to start, the karaage was so juicy it was amazing. Then we had a selection of nigiri, maki and rolls which were so so great, I had to order a second helping of tuna mayo maki it was so good. We couldn’t decide what dessert to have, they all sounded great, so we had 3 which were all so good. The staff were so lovely, especially our waitress, we didn’t catch her name but she was very polite, never very far if we needed anything and really happy and smiley. The atmosphere was great and honestly I couldn’t recommend this place anymore. One of the best in Liverpool and best sushi I’ve had, better than any I’ve even had in Japan!
05/09/2020: Went with a group of couples, didn't have the best reception, had to find our own way to the table. Waited around 20 minutes for a drink (non alcoholic) Food was OK (I had curry, which was just standard. I believe the susshi is good)There was a mix up with our order to which the waiter wasn't very courtseyious which meant certain people in our group settling for food we hadn't ordered. The waiter approached us near the end of our meal to tell us to not be so loud? We were a group of couples having a chat and a good time not in the slightest loud or roudy? I have never been to a restaurant and have been told to be quiet? It was a Saturday evening, quite standard to be enjoying each others company at the table. Wouldn't go back as felt quite offended by one imparticular member of staff.First time and last time unfortunately.

College, Cheltenham
02/09/2020: There are many facts in the world that are impossible to dispute; 2+2=4, the earth is round, Koj is one of the best restaurants in Cheltenham, etc. It has been quite some time since my last visit, but the memory remains.A Japanese restaurant that prides itself with a #nosushi exclamation, Koj sits on the so-called ‘Cheltenham Strip’ (I call it that) surrounded by other eating establishments and the Everyman Theatre. But where it’s located is irrelevant as I would personally travel many, many miles to reach here as often as I could. An eating experience more than anything, Koj offers set menus with a specialty on ‘grazing’ dishes that are more so quality not quantity. From dishes you may know such as Miso Soup and Pork Buns to delectable options such as Koj Fried Chicken and the, oh so incredible, Shiitake Okonomiyaki. Each dish is prepared with such passion and knowledge you feel guilty for demolishing it with shaky, excited hands. In short, I struggle to find a single negative on the menu and I will just be happy to walk in and say ‘You choose’ as I’ll be far from disappointed. The environment you’re in is hard to notice as you’re busy discovering your new favourite food but when you take a breather and look around you’re greeted with a delicately designed haven that suits the menu. Being of Japanese persuasion but without being in your face about it, it’s warm and encouraging. A vast array of Whiskeys and Sake is very intimidating as you decided to embrace the ways of Koj. Far from negative intimidation, more like when you meet one of your personal heroes. You’re nervous, but you’re excited.Andrew Kojima and his team are my new heroes. The Justice League of food. There are two types of people in the world, those who want to be full and those who want to be satisfied while falling in love. Latter people Koj Cheltenham is for you.

Alley Katsu

Hertford Castle, East Hertfordshire

Park's Kitchen

Walpole, Ealing
02/08/2020: My first visit here and what can say , the food was just so good ,service with a smile ,small place however one of the best ,lots of variety of dishes
18/07/2020: We got takeaway and it arrived so quickly and was absolutely delicious! Portions were large for the price and everything tasted very fresh. The spicy pork was the best but the vegetable dumplings were a close second. All containers were airtight so none of the sauces spilled in transit. Will definitely order again!
