Fantastic food (and cocktails!) and attentive, friendly service. We sat outside on a chilly evening as per Covid rules, but it was still well worth it.

We have eaten several times from Myra's Kaiseki during the last 18 months. We have tried many local restaurants who have offered take away food during lockdown but always come back to Myra's. When booking our take-out earlier this week I mentioned that it was for my daughter's 12th birthday, her choice. The dinner was superb as always but they had also put in a candle for my daughter's desert and had a helium balloon ready for her when I arrived to pick it up. Just lovely all round.

On a day trip to Dorchester we walked past the front of Myra's Kaiseki and decided to book for lunch. The owners came in just for us and we enjoyed a very nice lunch.The sharing starter platter was very nice (but a bit big for 2 people - ideal for 4). I had the Chicken Katsu which was very nice indeed and again a large portion. My wife had the Miso cod which she enjoyed.Due to Covid restrictions we were eating in the small courtyard area at the back of the restaurant but it had been made to be welcoming. The hosts were extremely welcoming and friendly.All in all, a lovely experience.

This is a truly lovely place: I went for my birthday lunch and the food was perfect from starter to dessert. We had the shared half sushi half hot food starter (perfect), with two mains that we could barely finish, and they treated us to a macha dessert that was so lush. They even gave me roses for my birthday! Thanks again for making it a special day, appreciate it. Oh and the drinks are really tasty!! The mocktail is definitely to try

I went in to get some food to bring home for my wedding anniversary and honestly it was the best decision I could have made! The food was top notch, the crab was so fresh and the salmon was beautiful! They are super knowledgeable of the food and the saki, they were so accommodating as my wife is a vegetarian. Once we can sit in places again we will be coming back! Side note the cheese cake was also phenomenal

What a fantastic meal!! We ate there on the 17th in the courtyard behind the restaurant. We were told in advance that there would not be heating and that we had to wrap up warm. We did - and were so pleased we went. We had lovely Ramen, sushi and Tempura!! Definitely give it a try - you won't be disappointed!!

superb myras at home. Food is always excellent, lovely choice of seafood and meat/ vegetarian. Such quality of ingredients. Really helpful too. We usually use Myras for special occasions and have never been disappointed.

Service was very friendly and fast - I made a call for collection for a sushi platter and was able to pick it up within the hour. The restaurant had hand sanitiser stations and I was greeted at the door. The sushi was very fresh and had more pieces than advertised which was a lovely surprise. There was also a lot of variety which was great to see.

Myra’s are still open for takeaway during lockdown!! I have always struggled to find a decent Japanese restaurant in Dorset until I found Myra’s several years ago. They have never disappointed us. Very high standards dishes and excellent service. We received a telephone call the next day asking how our meal was, you don’t get that with other takeaway restaurants! If you’re a fan of Japanese food or just fancy trying a new cuisine, I would strongly recommend Myra’s in Dorchester. You won’t regret it!!

We ordered a takeaway from Myra's last night for my birthday (We would have eaten at the restaurant, but due to lockdown this wasn't possible)Having lived in Japan I have struggled to find good Japanese food in the UK outside of London. But Myra's didnt disappoint. There is an authenticity to the menu and the flavours that was wonderful. We had a selection of Sush, Sashimi, Gyoza, Tempura and Ramen dishes and also tried a sparkling Sake on recommendation from the owners.I would urge anyone to try this restaurant and it's takeaway service without hesitation.We are looking forward to visiting the restaurant as soon as restrictions are lifted. We had been to Myra’s on several occasions before lockdown, usually for celebration meals. We have always found the food authentic and of a very high standard with attentive service. Last night was our first takeaway - for a shared zoom meal for our granddaughter’s birthday. We were not disappointed. The food was really tasty and of a very high quality. We thoroughly recommend the tempura starter and the halibut main, served with samphire and rice with a little bit of ginger - couldn’t ask for better. We look forward to visiting again when lockdown is over.

We've dined at Myra's many times in the past and have always enjoyed it thoroughly, so we decided to try a takeaway during lockdown. The sushi and other dishes were excellent as always, and Myra and Paul were very helpful in arranging collection. It made for a great treat. We can't wait to visit in person once restaurants have reopened.

I ordered a take away last week, Paul couldn't have been more helpful . We live about an hour away so arranged to meet in Sherborne. Despite me arriving at the wrong place, they waited patiently. The food was simply delicious. We started with sushi and salmon and duck for main course. It was a great treat! We will be back for more.

Eaten in at myras a few times before, always loved it! And have had takeaway twice now during lockdowns, as good as the food is when you eat in. Food is always beautifully cooked and served. One of our favourite restaurants in Dorchester! 10/10 would recommend, you won’t be disappointed!

Just the freshest sushi and sashimi I have eaten. I was able to order my food on Thursday evening and then pick it up on Friday lunchtime. The food was well packaged in a cool box and was as sublime as always.The crab burrito is thing of beauty and I cannot stress enough how much I love this place.

I wanted to give my husband and our daughters an experience to remember and our Myra's takeaway hit the spot: crisp tempura prawns and vegetables, delicious miso and seaweed soup, fabulous hamachi, super-tender steak with shitaake mushrooms and beansprouts. We also had wonderful sushi and izakaya platters for the kids. Delighted with the quality and range of flavours (including vegetables and sauces). Not a meal we would ever make for ourselves so worth spending a bit more than we usually would for such a treat. Will definitely go back and would highly recommend.

If you live in Dorchester and enjoy good food you absolutely have to try Myra’s! Such a great standard of food with clearly the best ingredients, we are very lucky to have this as an option (especially during lockdown for delivery!) me and my partner had a selection of sushi, sashimi, some duck gyozas and easily the most incredible tempura prawns we have ever eaten! You can also choose from a selection of main courses which are next level! Very reasonable price considering the quality too.

The sashimi and sushi is fresh and wonderfully prepared. The ramen tastes like it's straight out of Japan and the duck with orange and noodles is a must-try dish! The restaurant made it very easy for us to enjoy their usual top-notch service and quality restaurant experience, from the comfort of our home, this January. Thank you! We can't wait to come back to the restaurant when the rules allow, and will pop in for another take-away in the meantime.

We had the tasting menu tonight (as well as some sushi for the younger ones). It was a real treat, beautifully cooked food and amazing that this is available so locally. Wonderful customer service too - everyone so keen to ensure we had everything we needed and that we were happy with it all - and so grateful you have kept doing this during such difficult circumstances. We had a fantastic evening yesterday and celebrated New Year‘s Eve early. We had the amazing Tasting Menue and were once again super happy! The combination of a very courteous host and the most delicious food is simply great! We can only recommend Myra‘s! We will be back!

Another great experience at Myra’s!5 of us shared 2 mixed starters of sushi and tempura. We had the Hake (x2), Pork Ramen, Katsu Curry and Yaki Soba for mains. Lots of cocktails and the house Champagne. Everything was great, only slight criticism was that the Sake Martini portions were too small (recommend filling the glass up!). They were very tasty though :)Thank you Paul, Myra and the team!

Fantastic authentic Japanese food. Sushi sharing platter was yummy- white tuna just melted in your mouth. Lovely crockery. Katsu, ramen and noodles were the best we’ve had in a while!! We went for a birthday and they made it such a special occasion. A must visit!

I was a director of Japan aid lines trading companies for 25 years. Not eaten here before but we decided to try it for out wedding anniversary. Lovely ambiance to the place. Kind of understated fine dining with nice low level music playing. We ordered a bottle of hot sake to get us in the mood and were delighted to see that they've recently introduced a tasting menu. What a perfect way to get a sense of the cuisine! Miso Soup, Sushi, Sashimi, Octopus, Tempura prawn, Wagyu Beef and a dessert. (note: there might have been another dish as well which I can't remember). If you are looking for a proper night out dining we would thoroughly recommend Myra's and although the tasting menu is not cheap, it's very much worth it. We'll certainly be going back and I very much hope it will be before our next anniversary.

Our second visit to Myra's, and we were not disappointed. The restaurant serves a shared platter as a starter, but maitre'd Paul said we could try this as a main course when we came to celebrate our 30th anniversary. Simply excellent in every respect. Very welcoming intimate venue with professional staff and a focus on quality over quantity. Despite a focused menu they offer a great choice of Japanese food and it’s all beautifully presented and tastes fantastic. A wide range of drinks including Japanese wine and sake. Excellent evening and would always return when we are nearby.

Had sushi and sashimi takeaway and it was simply exceptional. So fresh, expertly made and incredibly flavoursome. Entirely worth the 30 mile round trip from Bridport. As soon as then current restrictions are lifted we shall be making a trip to the restaurant.

Visited Myra's a couple of weeks ago in hopes for a lovely birthday meal and Myra's did not disappoint!! the service was great and the atmosphere was calm- the classical music was a nice touch. All the food we ordered was amazing and delicious, we had the sashimi, sushi platter, duck and hazelnut chocolate cake and absolutely no complaints. It was perfect. Thanks so much for a great time, we will be back !!!!

We visited Myra's to have a last dinner out before the second lockdown and we were so pleased we did. The food was outstanding, especially the shared sushi platter starter. Fresh fish, beautiful turbot main, fantastic dessert and all topped off with wonderful, personal service. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend a visit post lockdown, and a takeaway during.

Having visited the restaurant in the past (and thoroughly enjoyed it) I thought it would be a good venue for a 30th birthday meal. Unfortunately we were not made to feel welcome and were told off (twice). The waiter informed us he did not want a 'noise complaint'. Yes we were 6 girls that had been out for a few cocktails, talking and admittedly a few in the group have rather loud laughs. After being rudely interrupted and told off the second time we decided to pay for our drinks and leave with empty stomachs. If you're looking for a quiet romantic meal then this restaurant is ideal. If you're looking to have a laugh with a group of friends then unfortunately I wouldn't recommend this place. Such a shame as my 30th birthday meal was ruined and can not be rearranged due to the pending lockdown. I would like to add the restaurant could benefit from a more upbeat front of house team rather than the funeral director approach.

My husband booked this restaurant for my 40th birthday, a very good decision by him!The food was delicious! Fresh, clean tasting and presented beautifully. Wonderful food, diligent service and a great ambiance. The service was exceptional, from the polite conversation on the phone call to reserve the table, all the way through to the flowers my fiancé was given when leaving the restaurant, this is how service should be! We visited Dorchester a couple of weeks ago for my partners birthday and we booked Myras due to its top rating and it didn't disappoint. The staff are so attentive, warm and welcoming and the restaurant has such a lovely atmosphere and romantic feel. The food and drink was delicious we would 100% come back if we visit Dorchester again in the future. Paul is a lovely bloke and gave us top tips of where to visit in the area!

We had such a wonderful date at Myra’s. It was our first visit to a sit down restaurant since lockdown, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience or meal. The staff were terrific, friendly and welcoming despite the masks! I noticed they were all very careful about sanitizing their hands and cleaning surfaces throughout. And the food! It was absolutely delicious. We will definitely be back!

Been meaning to go here for years, finally bottled up the courage. Friendly, helpful staff, perfect menu, amazing food. Going to go as far to say that the duck (with orange and coconut salad) was the best duck I've ever had, anywhere. Brilliantly crafted, flavoursome and delicious Japanese cuisine. From sushi and sashimi, to teriyaki dishes and sake cocktails. Perfect for a meal for two or as a group of friends. I can personally recommend the sushi platters, the teriyaki salmon and the duck with tangerine, coconut salad.You feel like the centre of attention throughout the entire experience. Almost forgetting we are in a covid 19 society. The staff ensure social distancing measures are upheld, with masks and track and trace, but the experience is authentic.There is also a collection of sake cocktails that are worth sampling. The Prosecco cocktail is sweet, the martini potent and neat. Depends on your personal tastes.The selection of desserts offered at the end are delicious or you can have a sweet plum sake.

Tonight we dined at Myra’s, we chose it because it had other fantastic reviews. This is our first trip to the area. The food was delicious and the service was fantastic. Paul was so lovely and sincere in his service, the kindest, sweetest man. The food was unbelievable. Many thanks to be passed across to the kitchen for tonight’s wonderful dishes. We love our Sushi and the Sushi platter was incredible. It was put together fantastically and is some of the best sushi I’ve eaten (and I’ve eaten a lot of it!). The Duck Breast main has the most incredible sauce and the Ramen has the most wonderful broth. The Strawberry dessert was exquisite! I will definitely be recommending our friends visit and be planning it into our next trip down here!

Friendly, efficient staff took booking and made one feel welcome immediately - simply over the phone. On arrival, courteous staff took us to a prepared, neat table and after a short explanation of menu and service were ready to provide drinks - delicious Japanese influenced cocktails on this occasion. A concise menu of delicious choices made ordering simple. Both the starters and the main courses were delicious, well priced and served with a quality flair so often missing. Wine list was again concise but well thought out and entirely appropriate for the dishes served and ambiance of the restaurant. Dessert, although perfectly explained by attentive staff and presented beautifully were not as immediately inspiring as the other courses; although the matching flight of saki was a nice touch. Perhaps that touch of brilliance shown with the cooking of the halibut, duck, tempura and gyoza could be shared with the desert menu. Looking forward to visiting again as it was a really wonderful occasion.

My wife and I took a trip to Myras in Dorchester last week, it was our first time there. The food and service were excellent, we can thoroughly recommend the ‘Wester Ross’ salmon sashimi and the Prawns. If your looking for great Japanese food then add this to your list of restaurants to eat in Dorchester. We are looking forward to visiting again. I

We have had some excellent take-aways with Myra's over the last few months, but yesterday we went back to the restaurant and had a really excellent meal. The seating is well placed and socially distanced and the food and service up to its usual high standard.We enjoyed tasty gyoza and tempura to start and then I had a delicious halibut with samphire and my husband had beautifully cooked duck. There is a wide choice of drinks (the extra touches like rosemary in the G&T make a nice difference) and the desserts (7-layer chocolate cake and strawberry cake) were a perfect final course. There is also complimentary tea and coffee.This is a really excellent evening out - the service is not rushed but at the right pace for an evening out - and the food is consistently of a very high standard. I look forward to our next visit.

What a lovely evening out! We had such a lovely time here at Myra’s Kaiseki. Paul the waiter really did care of us. He was so friendly and took great care to tell us about all the wonderful food on the menu. The food was DEVINE! So much flavour and it really was the most delicious Japanese food I have had. We even got to discuss all the wonderful Japanese whiskey’s that are on display in the restaurant. Thank you to Paul and his wife for a lovely evening and when we are next in Dorchester we will definitely be returning.

Phoned ahead to ask if we could collect a takeaway, lady said yes so we drove several miles there from our holiday cottage. On arrival we asked a man could we order our takeaway and he very rudely just said no! The lady intervened and he threw us a menu. After waiting quite a while to be served, passed over for seated customers, we gave up and left. The food on plates we saw looked fairly plain and not like the sushi we normally eat. Extremely disappointing as our experience was not was other writers have posted.

We have visited Myra's Kaiseki since 2018 and we have NEVER been disappointed. We have tried all of the menu and each dish is superb and unfaultable. Tonight 12/10/2020 we visited and had an amazing evening. We started with a mixed sharing starter- please see the pictures attached- we could have honestly had three or four of these, the taste is out of this world and makes your mouth water. For the main course, we had the Chicken with panko bread crumbs with curry sauce and the Ramen with mushrooms and tofu. The chicken was very tasty and was accompanied by a side salad and rice- it was such a wonderfully thought of dish and the flavours were fantastic. The Ramen was lovely and warming and tasted delicious! It was a very generous portion. For dessert, they had a new trio of desserts and accompanying drinks. We had the strawberry and the tiramisu dessert and it was lovely, we then had another dessert which was very naughty but very nice. The atmosphere was lovely and the service very attentive. As mentioned above we have been coming here since 2018 and this is our favourite restaurant. It is definitely the best restaurant in Dorchester by far. Thank you for making our evening so special and thank you, Myra, for the amazing food. We are never disappointed and forever grateful for your kindness and generosity. Booked a table here as we were visiting Dorchester and this was ranked no1 on trip advisor so seemed a good choice for a visitor.The staff were very welcoming and the restaurant felt a nice place. The starters were pleasant and arrived quite quickly. For mains we had the duck and the salmon. I had the duck and was genuinely very disappointed. Having to chew unrendered fat with every slice spoiled the dish. The salmon was ok, but not anything different from what you'd get in a pub chain. We also ordered a second drink while waiting for our main, it never arrived.If this is genuinely the best restaurant in Dorchester, I feel a little sorry for the residents of Dorchester as this is a fairly average place to eat.

Exceptional evening spent here with my husband; this restaurant exudes quality from the moment you step through the door. You are expertly guided through the Japanese menu, and neither the food nor the drink disappoint. Dorchester's little gem - we shall be back!

This restaurant has a relaxed and friendly ambiance that is reinforced by the front of house gentleman who took time and effort to make each table feel at ease. I loved that he went through the menu’s and knew each dish in detail. The menu is not an overwhelming list, but rather a smaller selection of well thought out and regularly changed dishes with locally sourced ingredients. The prawn tempura was very good, as was the sushi. Mains were fresh halibut with samphire, and tariyaki duck; both delicious. Surprise of the evening was the dessert menu, which was an example of each dessert available on a tray rather than a description on a piece of paper. Great idea! Overall the evening was very relaxing. The restaurant is not the cheapest, but it’s worth it. Thoroughly lovely place.

We had booked for lunch so were rather taken aback to find the door locked with a “Closed” sign on display when we arrived! However, the owner rapidly spotted us and opened up. “We don't normally open for lunch” he said, “ but since you took the trouble make a booking we are happy to see you!” This warm welcome set the tone for the rest of our visit.The compact menu offers a good selection of dishes and we sampled quite a few. All were absolutely delicious. Paul, the owner, is very knowledgeable on both the food and the drinks on offer and offers great advice. The service was perfect (as the only two guests this was perhaps to be expected) and our lunch arrived in a very timely fashion. The prawn tempura was perhaps the best we've ever eaten - and I've eaten tempura many times in Japan.This restaurant is a little gem. Try it. You will not be disappointed.

We were in Dorchester and tried this small restaurant on a rainy Sunday night. We both had ramen noodles, which were bursting with flavour and very authentic. The sushi looked incredible, too. It may not be the cheapest restaurant in town but the food and service were excellent.

We visited on the basis of the reviews. On a 5 day trip to Dorchester we came back for our Anniversary dinner. I’ve travelled to Japan three times and I can’t recommend this restaurant more highly. The vegetarian dishes are exquisite - the best ramen ever. My husband’s sushi, hake and duck mains were fantastic. Loved the sparking saki and cocktails, excellent Japanese beer, thoughtful and delicious wine list and far too tempting desserts. Would easily be lured back to Dorset (we’ve had a wonderful time and walked 38 miles over 3 days) just for this restaurant. What a find. Excellent value for the highest quality cuisine. Thank you

We were greeted at the door by a lovely waiter who was kind and patient with all of us, did an amazing job at explaining the menu to us, having visited Japan only last year, i was unsure whether to order things like Takoyaki or Ramen as my memories of these dishes was so fresh and fond from my trip. I really was not disappointed! The Takoyaki is exactly how i remember it in Kyoto and the Tonkonsu was as good as i remember it from having it in Asakusa. Anyone who loves Japanese cuisine needs to go to this place. Thank you for an wonderous meal!

We came here for a meal on our honeymoon and it didn't disappoint - brilliant service, delicious food and a fantastic selection of drinks (I highly recommend the Shochu Spritz!). Would definitely recommend.

A very convivial evening . A warm greeting from Paul , offering a discreet window seat . An interesting list of authentic cocktails combined with a fine choice of lagers and wines guarantee a good start . Tempura vegetables and prawns are highly recommended. Spoilt for choice with the options for a main course . Halibut and salmon were superb , authentically flavoured with teriyaki , soy and chilli. Will have to revisit to try the duck and steak dishes , both reading well on the menu . A very fulfilling meal , alas , no room to try a sweet , but complimentary coffee was much appreciated.

had the vegetable sushi, seafood ramen,and pork ramen. Was honestly so delicious. Everytime I go there the food is delicious and beautifully presented. The waiters and waitresses are polite and attentive. The owner and cook deserve the 5 stars on the food alone, the service adds an additional 5 stars! Definitely will be going back and would tell everyone to go there.

Delighted Japanese restaurant with matching menu, Ambience and service... absolutely worth visiting.

Visited recently for a family members birthday (mine to be precise)Ordered our starters in advance of visiting the restaurant as we were going on a weekday (Wednesday) as there was 9 of us so assuming it was to assist with the chefs and staff as there were 9 of us eating and more staff is on the weekend as opposed to weekday. A family member of mine as well doesn’t have the most ‘complex’ palette let’s say so we asked if an omelette was possible for a main course to which they replied “not a problem at all!” So an omelette that is no where on the menu was placed to order which was great! Plus points for adaptability!- Starters -Starters were great! Vegetable sharing platter, sushi, gyozas, and tempura! With soy sauce and sweet chilli sauce for dipping- Mains -Mains were able to order at the table. Noticed that the menu was a lot smaller as opposed to the one online and on Facebook. Again, I assume this was due to it being the weekday so the menu is smaller and perhaps it also being subject to seasonal change in regards to what ingredients can be obtained.I had seen on the menu online that there was a Tonkotsu ramen and really wanted to have that! It wasn’t on the menu when we arrived but we simply asked if it was possible and the gentleman serving said it wasn’t a problem at all! Very pleased and good hosting with adaptability!Everyone very much enjoyed their meals, chicken katsu curries, Salmon teriyaki style, and ramen, with an omelette also!- Drinks -Red wines, white wines, beer, and soft drinks were ordered throughout the meal, as well as ice table water ready on arrival.We ordered a jug of warm sake at the end of the meal to enjoy, it was delightful! Very warming and a great finish to the meal. This was also followed a complimentary pot of coffee and a teapot of Japanese tea! Amazing! Very kind and a good point to relax and have a little chat before leaving!- Overall -A great meal, a great experience! Very adaptable and friendly staff! If I wanted to be picky about anything then it would be the amount on the menu, but as I had previously stated, this I assume is due to seasonal change and weekday based! But, the staff were adaptable so I’m sure a simple ask would be perfectly fine! So, no, nothing to pick apart!Go visit if/ when you can and I’m sure you will not regret it! Beats Wagamama any day of the week! Support local, support independent!

Visited with my husband on holiday and we were extremely impressed. Super food, beautifully presented with polite and friendly service in a relaxed atmosphere. The tempura and the halibut were especially good and we appreciated the complimentary coffee at the end. Definitely recommended.

Visited here for my partners birthday and all we can say is wow!The service was excellent and the food was to die for. The best Salmon and Halibut I have ever tasted. I have personally never had sushi but this was the best place to try it! The prices are 100% reasonable, especially for the quality you recieve. Highly recommended! Definitely pop in if you are in the area.

My husband and I had a lovely dinner at Myra’s. Wonderful Japanese food, beautiful presented and prepared with high quality products. The service was exceptional, very polite. We had another great Japanese dining experience at Myra's, everything was freshly prepared and of outstanding quality. We enjoyed everything from the sushi and sashimi, to the prawn tempura (unbelievably tasty! ) and salmon teriyaki. Well worth a visit! This restaurant was absolutely amazing! My boyfriend had booked it to celebrate my 30th birthday and I could not have asked for more. The restaurant owner had asked what my favourite dish was and they went out their way to buy the product specially (tuna steak) and even customised a menu with my name on for me to keep. I don't usually write trip advisors reviews but felt compelled given how great the food and service was. I will definitely return when i'm next back in Dorchester. Thank you so much Myra's Kaiseki!

Been to Myra’s on a few occasions now and every time it exceeds our expectations. My partner and I visited this evening and ordered sushi and gyozas for starters and then the Chicken Katsu Curry and Watercress Salmon Teryaki for mains. The food was incredible and the service outstanding as always. This is by far the best Japenese restaurant we’ve ever visited and will continue to visit in the future. Already planning our next visit. Thank you to all the staff for the amazing food, service and for giving us another amazing evening!

Been wanting to visit Myra’s for some time and it did not disappoint. The food was incredible! The staff were all very welcoming and although there was a slight issue with timings on our mains, the owner addressed this with us right away. We look forward to dining at Myra’s again soon!

I had such a good experience here that I was compelled to write a review. The sushi, sashimi and ramen were all exceptional, and the lady serving us was a delight. Incredibly polite Japanese hospitality, and all of the advice we could have wanted on sake, the dishes on offer and the Japanese whiskey! Unfortunately I was only in the area for the weekend, but if I lived nearby I'd categorically be a regular at this wonderful restaurant.

Myra’s is an absolute favourite restaurant of mine and the reasons were clearly illustrated when I booked their small function room for me for my birthday this weekend.The service was excellent - top drawer. So friendly and catered for our every need. Everything was thought of with the variety of drinks and the special menu they put together for us.There were 12 of us ‘bubbling’ for this special meal and we enjoyed three rounds Of starters which comprised of sushi, sashimi, tempura and onigiri. The freshness and quality of the ingredients is not paralleled in our region.All wines and beers were of a good quality and suited our palettes well. In previous visits I have enjoyed the oysters and caviar too!For mains we had divine noodles and some had panko crumbed chicken or salmon.We were left alone whilst also constantly being politely checked on.I highly recommend the efficiency, cleanliness, quality and choice of food and ingredients. Always return!

Kaiseki apparently means Japanese Haute Cuisine, and I think Myra’s lives up to the name... the food truly delicious!I had the duck with clementine and coconut salad and it was truly delicious. My partner had lots of super-fresh sushi. The meal was finished by some dessert sake and coffee with a lovely strawberry ice cream cake. Fantastic and definitely 5-stars.

The food here was genuinely delicious (sushi, sashimi and gyoza to start with Duck and Halibut for mains). Would have been 5 out of 5 if it weren’t for the long wait for our mains although there were 2 large tables in at the same time as us so could understand the wait. Would definitely come again

After a initial reservation hiccup we were seated in the courtyard area. It was very busy but the staff were very welcoming and friendly and drinks were brought swiftly. We had sushi and tempura mushrooms to start and it was so delicious, then followed on with the duck breast and the halibut, both of which were cooked to perfection, delicious and generous portions. The service is not rushed which is nice and when you see that it is mainly one person cooking you can see why, well worth waiting for.

Enjoyed a really nice meal at Myra’s - the food was absolutely brilliant, in particular the prawn starter, sushi and the duck main. Everything we ordered was excellent though. The restaurant is relatively small but felt safe. However there did seem to be a lot of staff and it did have a bit of a chaotic feel to the place - this did not affect the positive experience though!

Our first visit this week, honestly, super disappointed. Its a nicely decorated place, but the food was super basic. I wouldn’t pay £20 for a slice of fish with some rice again. The menu is very limited and basic, especially for the price (all main are around £17.50-£20). The kind of basic food you get in Japan for under ¥500-800... the starters are nice. 12.5% service charge on top of everything as well... I’m not sure why so highly rated, maybe being the only Japanese in town?

Finally an authentic Japanese restuarant! We had a superbly delicious dinner with honest and discreet service. The sake and whisky offer is perfect.

Lovely restaurant found on the town high street. Staff is lovely and accommodating. We’ve been a few times over the last year and the food never disappoints. Would love to see more variation in the menu as this has not really changed since last year. The use of reusable chopsticks would be a major plus in my eyes too! But overall a wonderful experience everytime!

If you are in Dorchester this is an absolute must!!! We arrived in the town about 2.15 and tried looking for somewhere to eat. We came across this restaurant and could see people inside but there was a closed sign as it was after 2. I decided to pop in and see if there was any chance they could do a quick lunch. Although they were closed the owner kindly said he would serve us. The food was incredible and beautifully cooked. I definitely recommend the halibut!!!!! The service was also perfect. Thank you again so much for being so accommodating and will definitely come back again when we are next in the area!!!!!! Thank you

I've been a few times and had great food and service each time. The restaurant is open post covid with hand sanitiser at the door, spaced tables and it's one of the few restaurants I've been to where the staff wear masks. The food is all fresh and delicious! Definitely a place I will keep going back to.

We went to Myra's Kaiseki for a family dinner to celebrate a birthday. I made the booking online and a table was offered for 6 pm. We turned up at 6:04. The place is nice, the service was immaculate and the food was lovely and well cooked. Around 7.30 pm the bill was served for us even though we didn't ask for it. I worked in hospitality in the past so I understand that most places need more than 1 sitting a night in order to make profit but I would expect it to be mentioned beforehand,for example- you can have the table until 7.30 pm. We wanted to have dessert or hot drinks and I felt being kicked out a little.Otherwise the place was nice and the general experience was positive.

Short(ish) menu, but the choice is just right. Would have happily had anything off the menu. Tempura was excellent for starters and so tasty. Mains were excellent.

Beautiful atmosphere, excellent service and wonderful food! We found this restaurant online during a week long stay in Portesham. We love Japanese cuisine and this was of the highest standard.

A lovely family meal with delicious food and great service. The tables were well distanced, clean and tidy, and we all felt very safe and well looked after. I recommend the duck main and an Old Fashioned!

The food at Myra’s was just superb. The sharing platter we had as our starter between 4 was lovely and our main courses were so fresh and tasty. The restaurant was clean and we felt safe in the current covid circumstances, and our waiter wore a mask all evening. The choice of cocktails and mocktails were good too. No complaints at all, in fact we’re booking to go back soon.
