The Silk Route

Riversway, Preston
08/03/2020: We attended the Bohemian Rhapsody night on 6th March in aid of Cardiac Risk In The Young! Fantastic food and great entertainment and excellent service! Would highly recommend! 😊
06/03/2020: Introduced friends on a visit, they were also impressed they have asked us to return with them. Quick east answer, most definitely

Jumunjy Lizard Thai Cuisine

Mullion, Cornwall,Isles of Scilly, >100£
10/03/2020: Having driven past many times we decided to call in for lunch, what is a 16th century Cornish building on the outside has been transformed into warm comfortable Thai Restaurant on the inside and for a short time we could forget about the rain and the wind and enjoy our surroundings. We shared three dishes, Pad Thai, vegetable stir fry and yellow chicken curry, which was the right amount for us, all very tasty, washed down with a glass of wine! A bottle of tap water was already on the table when we arrived - a nice touch. Looking forward to a return visit and working our way through the extensive menu, see you soon!
03/03/2020: We had dinner here this evening and thought it was fabulous. We had a main each and shared some noodles and thought each dish was so tasty. I can’t recommend Jumunjy highly enough, please go and try it. Having spoken to the owner, I understand they are about to expand. Just want to wish them good luck and say we will be back next time we are in the area.

Pyke 'N' Pommes

Strand, Derry
05/03/2020: Stop here just by chance to grab a quick bite had their veggie burger meal was very tasty Staff are friendly and food is good what more can you ask for will be back for more ........
03/03/2020: The food in this restaurant is first class!

Lilu Cuisine

Castle, Leicester, 20-30£
10/03/2020: A real gem. We were looking for somewhere special for a ‘friends reunion’ and this delivered in every aspect. We had the tasting menu and it was delicious. Full of flavour and not too spicy (I’m sure they could adjust this for different tastes). The staff were all exceptionally friendly and explained all the courses. All agreed it was the best Indian meal we had ever had (and we are all very well travelled).
28/02/2020: Pratik is a wonderful host and very passionate about his food. It shows in each dish and his enthusiasm is infectious. We opted for the 7 course tasting menu (you need to email in advance) and it was exceptional. We are foodies and have had lots of tasting menus in Michelin star restaurants and this was certainly up there. The amount of food is the most we’ve ever had for a tasting menu, do not eat at all the day you go!! It was 3 hours, we opted for a 6pm sitting. It’s a very relaxed setting and the waiter (I didn’t get his name) was also lovely and very friendly. We are very much looking forward to returning!

Billy Andy's

Glynn, Larne
07/03/2020: Such a shame as lovely food. Front of house manager without doubt the rudest most unwelcoming guy. The type of guy that treats customers as if they they get in the way and he is too busy. Shocking frankly.
29/02/2020: Thanks to Billy Andys for the brilliant lunch we had on Thursday 27th Feb.

Mu Mu

East, Maidstone, 20-30£
16/03/2020: Myself and a group of friends went to Bitchy Bingo and it was amazing. The waitresses were really friendly and attentive, Madam MuMu and Sophia Sparkles were brilliant hostesses and amazingly divaish! 2 hours of bottomless drinks, brunch, bingo, a drag show and mini disco for £40. Definitely recommend.
14/03/2020: Had a wonderful dinner and pre-dinner drinks in MuMu. Great selection andfantastic service. From the Gin & Tonic Tree to the fondueto our mains..sooooo good! Thank you!!

Coconut Bar & Kitchen

Abbey, Reading
22/02/2020: Coconut is an absolute gem of a find in a Reading swamped by chain restaurants! All the staff are so welcoming, whilst the food and drinks are without faults. We will definitely be back!
17/02/2020: We went on Saturday evening for a Cocktail Master Class, we went for the middle options and had a lovely cold glass of prosecco on arrival and both opt'd for the salt and pepper chicken after - both lovely. Our class was led by Harris and he was fantastic. He took the time to show and explain everything before we started making our own cocktails. Service and experience was excellent. Will be recommending and returning myself.

The Ambrette Canterbury

Westgate, Canterbury
12/03/2020: An excellent evening with the most exquisite food over many courses. The Sita player was great. Hena tattoo for the wife as well. Well done Ambrette
08/03/2020: Pre theatre lunch. 12.15 Saturday for 4. Excellent all round. Could not fault any of the food or service. We enjoyed the complimentary starter, Pork loaf and a vegetable Bhaji. We also had one starter, Indian street food and two choices from the appetiser selection;- pork crackling and the chaat. For main we had the large Dosai and 3 of us had the non-veggie thaali feast. The chicken chettinand and goat curry were superb. 1 carafe of house red, 3 curious brews ( Chapel Down lager) 2 morettis and 1 glass of Chilean Sauvignon Blanc. £144 without tip. The couple we introduced to the restaurant have already booked to go again. They are real foodies and loved it. Fantastic lunch...shame the show afterwards was a bit of a let down.

The Rising Sun Thai & Pan-Asian

Purewell and Stanpit, Christchurch, >100£
15/03/2020: Took the "magnificent seven" boys out for our monthly Probus Dining Club events, with this now being one of our regular visits, and , again, found the food fantastic, the service superb, the atmosphere amazing and the company chatty, laughing, drinking, joking and most of all, to be it exceeding enjoyable... feeling well fed, the horses well watered as we rode out from the Rising Sun !!!
02/03/2020: We have been going to The Rising Sun ever since it first opened and have never been disappointed. The service from start to finish was excellent and the food was superb. For value for money, ambiance and just sheer enjoyment it is our go to place. Poon was not cooking that night but you wouldn’t know it. All I can say is keep it up and to anybody that has not yet tried it, give yourself a treat.

Kota Kai

Porthleven and Helston South, Cornwall,Isles of Scilly, 20-30£
07/03/2020: Lovely relaxed lunch with my niece and her family, we hadn’t seen each other in a while so wanted to do some catching up. The service was efficient and friendly and we didn’t feel at all rushed. Every dish we had was delicious. Can recommend the soft crab bao bun, Korean fried chicken and pulled pork sliders. Great harbour view.
07/03/2020: What a shame, the new menu was a disappointment. We have eaten here on lots of occasions and have thoroughly enjoyed the experience. But this time was different- “small plates”, what is that all about? The waitress suggesting we needed 2-3 each - at £6-£8 each. We duly ordered and although we thought the food tasty the plates were small and so the whole experience was an expensive one. My husband and son (both over 6ft) have a good as you can imagine they left unsatisfied. I’ve noticed other people commenting on your new menu - please go back to your old ways and we’ll be back!

Duchess of Delhi

Butetown, Cardiff, 30-45£
15/03/2020: Visited the restaurant in February, a convenient short walk from the Bay Area and St David’s hotel where we were staying.
14/03/2020: Perfect evening! We have just had the best night, with the most wonderful food and exceptional, friendly service. Thank you Rosie and your beautiful daughters for providing the best Indian restaurant in Cardiff.

Saffron Balti

Lydney East, Forest of Dean, 60-100£
21/01/2020: I truly love Indian cuisine and have been to Indian restaurants and takeaways all over the UK. I particularly love vegetable pathias that are hot and sweet, but often find it difficult to obtain such a dish - but not here!
15/01/2020: We came here while on holiday, it does not look much from the outside, so we were not expecting much.

Red Peppercorn

Bulk, Lancaster
24/11/2019: We had a great family meal such a lovely place, we have since been back but it's now The Quarterhouse in Lancaster and it was superb. Chef led its advertised and this shows as the food was top notch! stunning inside too so relaxing
24/10/2019: What a shame. One of favourite Lancaster eating places has closed its doors. Good luck to the lovely family that ran it for years. You'll be missed! The place has been cleared out of fittings and furniture, barely a sign that there was ever a restaurant there.

St Jude, Portsmouth, 20-30£
06/03/2020: Food was tasty, very authentic, staff waitresses were miserable. It didn't ruin our evening, but wouldn't go back again due to bad service.Maybe table before us were so demanding and didn't a tip.But we still did,as the food was very good!
05/03/2020: Cosy little basement bar with a good selection. Lovely tapas, fish dishes were especially good. They were happy to make dishes an odd number for our group to avoid the who's having the last piece argument.

Lake Raj

Windermere Bowness South, South Lakeland
15/03/2020: Ate here with my partner. The service was great, the staff very friendly and welcoming. The food was equally as great! Would definitely recommend and eat here again.
10/03/2020: Recently ate in the Raj and had a really enjoyable meal.. There were four of us and we all felt that the food was good, full of flavour.r (two enjoyed a new to them curry of Achari), the staff very friendly. Unfortunately the atmosphere was lacking but that was due to it being very quiet. Would definitely go again.
