The Silk Route

Riversway, Preston
07/09/2019: Had another amazing meal here. Nothing is too much for the team. I love the special touches when you ask for something and when you come back, they remember. The chicken tikka is mouth watering and the special curry hubby has is bursting with flavours. Without a doubt the best Indian restaurant in Preston and they deserve all the accolades given to them.
07/09/2019: We love this restaurant, the food is always consistently excellent, the service is efficient but not rushed. All the team are so polite & pleasant it a real pleasure to engage with them. Oh, the food is pretty good as well, over many years we’ve never had a poor experience, the shashlick dishes are served beautifully on a sizzler, great for those on a diet! A proper Indian restaurant with ambiance style...not the kind of curry house you’d visit after a few beers.

Mu Mu

East, Maidstone, 20-30£
17/09/2019: Great attentive staff, lovely hot and tasty food, you will enjoy your Sunday Lunch here without a shadow of a doubt!
15/09/2019: I have tried many bottomless brunches in both Kent and London. MuMu’s is far superior to any other. The drinks are topped up consistently and the atmosphere is always electric. I will be returning here (for the 3rd time) before the new year!

Red Peppercorn

Bulk, Lancaster
31/07/2019: This is my daughter's favourite restaurant in Lancaster and I can see why. When we went to visit recently, we enjoyed a variety of sharing dishes, all freshly cooked and beautifully presented. The service cannot be more welcoming too. Highly recommended!
17/07/2019: We found this restaurant by chance, what a find. Beautifully prepared food with great flavours. Worth coming off motorway for.

Lilu Cuisine

Castle, Leicester, 20-30£
19/08/2019: A wonderful meal at Lilu Cuisine this restaurant is an absolute gem. From the moment you arrive you are welcomed with open arms and made to feel your business is appreciated and very important to the owner. The food is of excellent quality each course is presented well and the flavours unique. It is a shame that Lilu is taking a break but l was delighted to find that there Deli in wigston will be doing some of their master dishes to take away ( cannot wait to try these ). Good luck in all new ventures Lilu we will miss your wonderful restaurant and will look forward to you returning later in teh year.
15/08/2019: My wife and I dined here on her birthday. There is plenty to admire, most notably the delicious food in a pleasant setting, with a number of nice touches/surprises along the way.

Kota Kai

Porthleven and Helston South, Cornwall,Isles of Scilly, 20-30£
18/09/2019: This is our second visit for a birthday celebration although the 1st was a while ago but we weren’t disappointed! The food was amazing and the staff were lovely although the service could be improved somewhat! Being the end of what I hope was a busy summer season for them we were very forgiving and assumed that was the reason we kept having to ask twice for things! And as mentioned the food made up for it! We shared starters and sat chatting in the “comfy” seats with drinks. We were made to feel very welcome and there was no rush to move to our table. I had the steak and the flavour was amazing and so tender. Not the cheapest place to eat but all round a lovely evening!
16/09/2019: This is now our favourite restaurant to go to when we holiday in Portheleven, ate there 3 times during our 2019 stay.

St Jude, Portsmouth, 20-30£
15/09/2019: Food was very tasty, and has a wide range of diet specific menu catering from meat eaters and vegan, would recommend this place
12/09/2019: Fantastic tapas and cocktails, perfect for sharing, and excellent service. Waitress was happy for us to go off menu for some cocktails and made them perfectly - obviously very knowledgeable and well trained. Can't wait to go back!

The Ambrette Canterbury

Westgate, Canterbury
17/09/2019: Our son who lives in Canterbury (and has eaten here before) suggested the venue.
16/09/2019: When I made the telephone booking I asked if we could have a nice table [never done that before anywhere] and explained when questioned by the lady that it was an anniversary. The 'really nice' table she promised had me looking at a wall and my wife sat in a corner. Never mind, the appetiser was delicious and the [whole chicken meal for two] main superb, filling and excellent value Disappointed with the [only three] profiteroles which were of average taste and hence overpriced. Alcohol also slightly expensive however the total bill for the evening was very reasonable particularly as we had an enjoyable live piano accompaniment.

Coconut Bar & Kitchen

Abbey, Reading
15/09/2019: Coconut has a nice balance of restaurant and bar to meet the needs of all consumers. The length of the place means that dinners and drinks can be separate. Good quality cocktails nice food!
12/09/2019: Girls night out! Good looking bar, restaurant with a mix of Asian food eg, Singaporean stir fry noodles, Thai curry, Korean, Tempura, Schezuan Duck, wild cocktails etc. So basically a bit of ‘everything’! Good and fun enough for a fun night out, food was good enough, not the most authentic but very pleasant for the International crowd. Popular place, pretty noisy but fun.

JaiHo at The Coppingham Arms

Horley East, Reigate and Banstead, 20-30£
07/09/2019: I visited this restaurant 5 years ago when staying in the area on business and found the place to be absolutely fantastic.
07/09/2019: Looking at reviews there must be someone new there tonight or they just concentrate on people dining in. Placed an order to take away, one King Prawn Biriyani, one Pashwari nan and a side of Aloo Gobi. The person taking the call repeated the order then when I asked the total the person repeated the items off when adding up (£19.25).

Jumunjy Lizard Thai Cuisine

Mullion, Cornwall,Isles of Scilly, >100£
10/09/2019: What a lovely place! So cosy and welcoming. The food was gorgeous too. Really lovely flavours. We will definitely come back and will recommend it to our friends who often visit this area.
06/09/2019: This place is amazing! You walk in and the decor is quirky and eye catching, you feel like you are in a special place. The staff are friendly, and helpful on the menu recommendations. All the food we ordered, starters and mains were delicious and authentic. Thinking about it now is making my mouth water. The adults loved the spring rolls, the tempura and the green curry, but it was all really high quality and flavour. The kids loved the JFC chicken, such a good idea! We wish we lived closer as this place is a real find. Go there if you can, you won't be disappointed!

Bloomsbury, Camden, 45-60£

The Rising Sun Thai & Pan-Asian

Purewell and Stanpit, Christchurch, >100£
16/09/2019: The male manager who served me throughout was a breath of fresh air, cool, calm, collective, happy and wanted to ensure you were happy too. His cheerful demeanor cheered me up. The two course lunch menu was delightful and beautifully presented and tasty. The savingnon blanc was quality and the coffee aroma was gorgeous. I was checked on for both starter and main and after for coffee or anything else. The service was perfectly attentive and the ambiance is relaxing. I have never been before but I shall return. Thank you Rising Sun! Keep up the great work!
13/09/2019: Such a disappointing birthday meal sadly that will be the last time I ever eat here. It is such a shame we have always loved it here having lived around the corner for over 7 years. There are some positives i often go with local friends for drinks and it's generally a nice environment, pleasant surroundings, good atmosphere and polite service. As for food though....I have eaten a handful of times over the years and it's always been delicious, so for my birthday treat i wanted to go here (I LOVE thai food and especially seafood), even though last time I went with my husband (for my birthday 2 years ago) it was a nightmare as he has a shellfish allergy and they kept having to come back to our table as there were constant difficulties with the order. This time however we looked online to see they now have an 'allergies advice menu' which specifies certain dishes (and all curries) that he cannot have. My hubby (who feels really uncomfortable making a fuss about his allergy & not wanting to ruin my birthday meal) phoned to book and offered to come in person to pre-order his food and speak to the chef maybe as he just didn't want a repeat of what happened last time.... but he was heavily reassured that they had a specific allergy menu (not just the advice thing that he saw online) and no there really was no need to pre-order and come in. Well, what a mistake he so wishes he had just done it anyway.I think you can guess the rest, sadly we had exactly the same problems, and there is no specific allergy menu it is exactly what you find online. The waitress/waitors had to come back and forth to our table goodness knows how many times as pretty much everything he ordered (despite making double sure it was deemed ok by their shellfish allergy advice) had to be changed as it turns out there are dishes on their menu that are not in the shellfish allergies advice but still are not safe to order (!!) eg the ribs starter (they cook all shellfish in the same fryer we were informed) and the kung po chicken main!! To top it off, after our 3rd attempt at ordering it appeared the only starter we could safely have was the duck so we asked if we could have a pad thai as a starter which they said no prob... then served (and charged for) a main meal pad thai just brought it at the starter course. All the food we ate that night tasted really bland, average at best it was a massive let down, especially after such a painful ordering experience although I would say maybe it was because they had to adapt all the dishes for the allergy but I had a sizzling seafood main which was also bland. Such an expensive and utterly disappointing experience, we were offered no more than a simple 'yeah, sorry about that' for all the hassle. Never again, nice place to go for drinks though I'll give it a couple of stars for that only, definitely avoid if you have any allergies and don't want to be made to feel highly embarassed & uncomfortable when trying to order food.

Lake Raj

Windermere Bowness South, South Lakeland
18/09/2019: We went in on a Monday evening.
18/09/2019: Enjoyed a great meal here last night. Starters & main courses excellent and very quick service. Ahmed, the waiter was very friendly and attentive. Special mention to the Chef for the freshness and quality of the naan breads. Would definitely re-visit when next in the area.

Ilkley, Bradford
14/09/2019: We were a block booking of 12 and were given a long table fitting us all in very comfortably.
02/09/2019: This restaurant has a very varied 'Indian' menu and the staff will happily ex[lain the differences or make suggestions based on youy=r preferences

The Lamb Inn

Bisley, Stroud, 20-30£
16/09/2019: My partner and I came to the lamb to meet her friends. Only planning on drinks, we didn’t realise everyone else was having dinner, so we decided to have some sides.
07/09/2019: We had the most amazing experience in this tiny little quaint community. It was in June and around 7:30 pm when we finally arrived. We came to Eastcombe to seek out my Grandmother's residence that she lived in while growing up called Gladstone Cottage. The people that now owned this residence were more than hospitable. They allowed us to come in and see the place showing us books about the community dating back to the early 1900's which was the timeline that my Grandmother lived there. We had reservations at the Lambs Inn for supper that night and the owners of the house had to call up to the Lambs Inn before the kitchen closed to order our meals for us. They took our orders over the phone and by the time we got up there, and were seated it wasn't even 10 minutes before we were served our food. The food was delicious and the service exceptional! This little community was absolutely lovely! I can't wait to go back one day and be able to spend more time there.
