Zeret Kitchen

Camberwell Green, Southwark
03/11/2018: This is my new favourite place. I can recomend. This place had it all!Amazing place, amazing food,I always come here with my daughter and the staff are süper friendly.
24/10/2018: We found this place on Tripadvisor and since it was fairly close we decided to give it a try. The place was a bit hard to find, even the Uber driver had to make an extra round to locate it. The atmosphere inside was very warm and the staff especially friendly. We decided to have a surprise plate with Ethiopian specialities. That was a perfect choice, lots of delicious food with typical Injera bread. Food was spicy but not too hot and the Ethiopian beer matched perfectly with it. Price for a meal for two, two beers and a sparkling water was 35 pounds-not bad. The friendliness of the staff was really impressive. So, if you want to taste something different, take some time to find your way to this nice restaurant.

06/11/2018: Fantastic selection of food to suit all tastes. Samples of food offered to ensure it suited purchasers taste for spiciness, etc. Every dish was oven hot, meat succulent and plentiful. Great service from friendly staff always ready to advise or suggest appropriate dishes. Take away was the most often sales but a small sit-in area was also available. Portions were large, good appetite needed.

Kata Kata

Brixton Hill, Lambeth
04/11/2018: The food was really delicious and the portion sizes were decent. The restaurant has a unique atmosphere and the staff is very friendly. Would be 5 stars, but our food took a little time to come
03/11/2018: This place is incredible! The galettes and crepes are the best I've had, with lots of vegan options. Also a great range of juices (which you can upgrade to a cocktail) and extremely friendly service in a fun and informal space. We went there yesterday and we're already planning to go back :-)

02/11/2018: In Bolton Market's food hall, Nkono is a stall providing authentic African food. There is a choice of five or six dishes, and the ones I have tried have been really tasty, wholesome, healthy and filling. Anyone who likes tasty, spicy food should give Nkono a try. Its also good value at £5 or £6.

Wolkite Kitfo

Highbury West, Islington, <20£
04/11/2018: It was really good food. The service was also nice and polite. We were there before football match. My wife ordered a lamb meat with rice. I got minced beef meat with injera.
Consigliato!

Mosob Restaurant

Westbourne, City of London,Westminster, 20-30£
16/10/2018: I've been to Mosab with a friend on a weekday evening and had the greatest first experience with Eritrean food! We ordered Massawa which is a sharing platter for two with lamb, chicken and vegetables and it was really delicious (and very filling!). Hana our waitress, was extremely helpful and gave us a little insight into Eritrean culture and cuisine. The place is pretty small but it wasn't crowded at all. We really enjoyed the evening and the food. Would definitely recommend!!
08/10/2018: Really enjoyed our meal here tonight. We received a nice friendly welcome. The food was was well presented in good time and very tasty. Definitely compared well to similar meals we have had in East Africa. The set menu provided a good variety. Many thanks.

Holywell,St Mary's, Oxford
09/10/2018: Four of us went here for dinner as it was within walking distance of our AirBnB flat on Divinity Road. It offers Mediterranean food from ‘Beirut to Marrakesh’.
07/10/2018: We ate here before going to the comedy night nearby. The area isnt the most salubrious but dont be fooled by this! We hadnt booked but were welcomed in. The restaurant was lovely inside. We had mini mezze plus two starters - one a lamb kibbeh and one goats cheese parcels. It was the most beautifully tasting food I have had. We then had risotto and mixed grill - both were fabulous. Service was great - the chap was so helpful with our questions on ordering. Definitely one of the best restaurants Ive been to. Prices were very reasonable. Would absolutely go again. Recommend the moroccon beer.

Pavilion Restaurant

Castle, Sunderland
11/10/2018: Intimate restaurant on the seafront in Thurso. Small but varied menu - one of the better restaurants in Thurso and worth a visit.
11/10/2018: Very small restaurant, literally a pavilion, perched above the beach in Thurso, with great views over the sea. The food is great, simply presented but very satisfying with great flavours. I had Cullen Slink, which wasn't over rich and creamy but full of real fish, followed by a delicious Moroccan Lamb Stew, with really deep flavour, accompanied by 1/2 carafe of red wine, all for less than £30! A real unexpected and lovely find in Thurso.

African Gallery Kitchen

Regent's Park, Camden, 20-30£
01/11/2018: I’m shocked at the rating of this restaurant .. I’m not being funny but everything is cooked off site and microwaved reheated in front of you! Like all food that is microwaved it is boiling hot on the outside and cold inside! Food in general was mediocre and the meat dishes were frankly poor - beef was tough and chicken cold and in a greasy tasteless sauce. Sorry but would honestly and simply not recommend!
14/10/2018: Havd never had African food before so I was very curious. The waiter (maybe owner) was very friendly, helpfully recommended some typical African dishes.I had goat meat stew and was delicious. For dessert I’d highly recommend the one with ice-cream )don’t remember the name)🙂

Lola

Town Centre, Preston
28/10/2018: This is a friendly little family restaurant, with an excellent choice of vegan food, as well as lots for meat eaters etc. The owner was very welcoming, and they are great with kids too. We had two different tagines, garlic bread, ful medames, and the kids had pasta, it was all very tasty. The mint tea was nice too. Will come here again next time we're in Preston.
26/09/2018: We ordered for delivery from a highly varied Lola menu- 2 x Egyptian Peri Peri half chicken with Egyptian rice and Penne pasta in tomato sauce + some pitta bread. Total cost delivered £15.90. The chicken was first class in the tastiness stakes. A small downside was that it was on the bone and a tad too greasy. It was just the right spiciness for our taste. The pasta was delicious as was the Egyptian rice and the pitta bread- all arrived nice and hot. Delivery driver was extremely pleasant and courteous. Just Eat advised a delivery time of 55 minutes and true to form the meals arrived exactly on time. We are pleased to have discovered this place via Trip Advisor. Will we use them again - of course? Highly recommended.

Bbar

St James's, City of London,Westminster, 45-60£
02/11/2018: Popped into Bbar for lunch this week. Mum ordered the chicken burger which she really enjoyed and Dad and I shared the salt beef sandwich which was very good. We ordered fries and a mixed salad as sides. The coffees were excellent. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere.
27/10/2018: Staying in the area and seeking a late lunch spot, we ventured into Bbar. We were met with a very friendly welcome and offered our choice of a couple of locations to sit. Ordered a beer and perused the unique menu which has South African roots. Waitress proactively explained a few dishes to us. Food was delivered in a timely manner and presentation was very attractive, as was the taste. We opted for no dessert but did have a coffee to end the meal. We were consistently checked upon throughout the post meal and appreciated the fact that we were not rushed. Excellent food and service. What more can you ask for. Well done Bbar!
