Kohinoor of Kerala in Southampton

Excellent service, wonderful ambience, absolutely delicious food, fabulous menu, and the food was so delicious. Great quality ingredients and really good presentation. If you haven’t eaten here you are seriously missing out!!! Booking strongly advised.

The best Indian food I have ever eaten. Lots of different flavours from Kerala in Southern India. My uncle regularly visits me from the midlands so he can come and eat here. The service is impeccable and we are always made to feel like old friends

An authentic and most welcoming Indian restaurant which most importantly has a full and interesting menu and the food and service is great. Absolutely spot on - thanks so much Abraham and team. We had 3 different starters - greedy but couldn’t choose between them so all 3 it was - then a fish curry and a paneer masala- Plenty to share a naan and rice for us. Next visit to Southampton we will be back.

I visited last month with my family for dinner. It was our first visit, but unfortunately, it will be our last! The staff's attitude towards us was disappointing, and we felt like they were only interested in serving English guests. The food was good, but if they only want to cater to English people, they can continue as they are. Otherwise, they need to change their attitude towards welcoming guests from Kerala.

We visit Southampton regularly to see family and friends. No visit would be complete without a meal at the Kohinoor. The atmosphere is always welcoming and the food is excellent.

Ate here on Sunday evening. Quiet in restaurant but lots of takeaways. Staff were friendly. Atmosphere ok. Food was delicious. Parking easy just off high street.

Travel down to poultons park for the last 5 years and this is a must. We usually stay for 3 nights and book this restaurant for 2 nights out of the 3. Staff very friendly and welcoming and the food is absolutely amazing.

Authentic Kerala cuisine. Great location, awesome management. The Kerala porotta and beef curry is excellent. I was dining here when I realized I actually misplaced my phone in an Uber. The manager Biju helped me make the necessary calls to help me get my phone back without hesitation, offered me coffee/drinks while I was sweating it out trying to get my stuff back. I am indebted t the restaurant management for the great food and great experience.

I have just looked through the reviews. 5 * all the way!! Then a 1* review. This tell one more about the reviewer than the restaurant and unfortunately does no favours to trip advisor or any viewers. I have been visiting for 10 years and as a keen cook I appreciate good food. This has always been the only Indian for my wife and I which is why we are willing to drive a round trip of 40 miles every time.

I don't usually review restaurants twice but I felt like I had to because of how fantastic this place is. The service is top tier with very friendly and efficient staff and the food is unrivalled by any of the hundreds of Indian restaurants I've dined in throughout the world. I had the Dosa and asked if chicken could be added to the dish which was no problem and added so much to the already-excellent meal. My wife had the butter chicken which she absolutely loves from here and my friend had a chicken vindaloo which he said was full of flavour and spicy but not ridiculous or over the top. I have been here 10+ times now for all different occasions - Birthday's & celebrations/weekday evenings/lunch and have never not left extremely satisfied. Never had a single bad experience here and can't recommend it enough. Great work! Alex

The food here is absolutely delicious! Unusually pleasant house wine. Pappadoms and pickle tray: four types of pickle, with an interesting variety of tastes and textures. Ben Pakoda: spicy and bursting with flavour. Vada: lovely Malabar Prawn: very tasty, in a flavourful sauce Masala Dosa: one of the best dosas around. Very thin and crispy, and packed with a beautiful potato filling. All portions were very generous. Staff are friendly and attentive. We came on a Friday evening shortly after opening. The restaurant filled up very quickly. This is unsurprising considering the quality of the food and the rather good value for money, We have been coming here for a number of years and tried a wide of dishes. We have never been disappointed. The consistency in quality and flavour is commendable.

I've been here about ten times now and every single time the food and service are flawless. I decided to try something I've never had before on this particular occasion - masala dosa. I absolutely loved it and would have it again. Kohinoor of Kerala is hands down the best Indian restaurant that I've been to in Southampton, and I've been to many of them. We have eaten here a few times and it has always been a great experience. The food is always good, very good! But here's the thing, if you want a great atmosphere, Kohinoor has it. It's always packed and there's always a buzz. And the service is friendly and engaging. For us, it's a walk. If you're driving, there's parking behind Iceland.
