Gurkha Lounge in Southampton

It was 40 mins maximum delivery time when I ordered. Actual delivery time took over 2 hours. I contacted the restaurant, who apologised. When eventually it turned up, the food was cold and the portions were small compared to other restaurants.

Disappointing small portions and no free popadoms.

Really good food, I am a regular now the taste and the service outstanding, highly recommend

Onion bhajis dry and old. Raita white water. Byriani over cooked. Himalayan veg curry not as hot and spicy as usual. Mango lassi yellow sugar water. A real shame as I have had some really great takeaways from here.

Very tasty food, special shout out to the chicken mo:mo. Wouldn’t mind at all if they start serving chicken mo:mo as a main dish as well. Service was top notch, I got my food delivered within 30 minutes. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for indian/nepalese cuisine.

Gurkha lounge is always fantastic but today the Madras was the best we've ever had. Many thanks to the chef and all the team at Gurkha

This was our first time here & The food is fantastic probably the best curry I've had for a long time.

Thanks For having us at a such Lovely place and Great Food. Full of Flavour and the Spice was just right. Peshwari naan bread was delicious favourite naan bread use to be the keema bread. Looked Clean and Tidy place too. Will come again Soon hopefully

Meal was nice though not particularly "hot" for a Pathia. Not much meat used.

Really bad experience and won’t be there again. When I found a short hair in my drink, I took it out of bottle and check it for a while(I didn’t wanna make it difficult so I need to check if it is that kind of hair or just fluff),then I let the waiter check, the waiter asked me why it is dry.!!!!Yes!!!!Did you mean I took my own hair and framed you for a billion pound ?You tell me why!but I am a coward, and still ordered some cuisines. So regret doing that! I just don’t know how to stand by myself when I am actually the winner.crazy that day the whole restaurant is like a airport full of flying airplanes

The just eat driver decided to take a tour of Southampton, adding ten minutes to the eta. This is entirely just eat's fault and not the restaurant. As a result, the naan was cold.

I don’t usually do reviews, but Gurkha have always been amazing and last night was no exception! A whopping 31 of us dined here to celebrate my birthday and the staff were impressingly attentive considering how stressed and under pressure they must have felt! We all ordered different drinks, different starters and different mains, and they took it all in their stride and delivered some really scrumptious, well-presented food which was piping hot! I would definitely come here again in a large group. I just hope we weren’t too loud! 😳😁

Never had a bad meal.They grind fresh spices unlike others who use powder.

We turned up for a wednesday night meal, and were refreshingly impressed by the variety of dishes, their richness, uniqueness, and affordability. For three courses and drinks barely exceeding £50, this was a delightful Nepalese twist on the typical curry night banquet, and if you ever give genuine care for random online food reviews, you may find me there, sampling one of the many dishes I have yet had the pleasure to try!

One of the best Indian/Nepalese food I ever have in Southampton. Friendly staff, quality tasty food and value for money. It's my usual go to place. As a vegetarian, I would recommend saag paneer, tadka daal, chapati, paratha. Oh yes definitely, papadam and chutney, to start with.

Worst customer service ever i have faced in Southampton. I’m food lover and been all the Indian restaurant in Southampton but not like this one at all because of customer service only. The food was okay. If i can put zero i will give Zero rating. The owner serves us today and his reaction was awful. 😕Hate it

Tasty authentic food and good service at amazing value

Takeaway/delivery, 2nd time of trying after an excellent meal last week. This time it was just average, with missing item. Nobody answers the phone or calls back. No reply to message on FB so resorted to a credit on Deliveroo. We really just wanted the missing item! It also took longer than expected to receive. Sadly we won't be bothering again.

SO good! Remembered ordering from here ages ago and everyone loving it so ordered again for myself and it’s genuinely such lovely food, looks amazing too. Favourite Indian takeout in a long time. Everything was perfect although our poppadums must have gone walkies before they got here. Still 100% recommend though! X

Ordered £53 of food on Uber, only to wait 2 hours to contact the driver and have him say he has delivered it. No food has been delivered! We contacted Ghurka Lounge who said they couldn't do anything for us, a loyal customer, so we've just been robbed of £53 as Uber also refuse to accept any responsibility as their driver said its been delivered.

Service and food were really good, unfortunately on a Thursday evening at beginning of February there weren't many other people eating, otherwise great

This was my favourite indian restaurant we order every time the same food 😋 very tasty. but tonight i order ginger duck and it was very salty and chicken madras that was very sour both menus with unusual taste.bye bye my favourite restaurant

The food was nice but my wife who is a black African woman felt very uncomfortable and is a shame that you let generational racism stop you from providing a service to a couple out on date night. Yes we saw your looks and felt your energy towards us-her and it led us to leaving the restaurant. It is so blatantly obvious and horrible to make another feel unwelcome because of her heritage. As an Indian you know what I am talking about. We will visit your restaurant again as we believe in second chances I’d advise making a better impression next time .

Excellent food , we Dinned Inn , Friday night , fantastic food Staters and Main , we ordered Tandoori Dishes Chicken Tikka , Tandoori on the Bone , Garlic Chicken Tikka and other Dishes food was 5 Star, and they did not rush , we spent 2 hours their , Thank you for the Top Service and food , I live 125 miles away from Southampton but it was worth it Hope to see u soon

Poor service and staff was rude... I think they are not happy to work here especially the guy with specs.

Food was over an hour late and app then claimed delivered despite no food arriving!

There was a young boy with specs and beard, was on front bar and served us. We were two persons for dinner. Ordered food, asked for water he gave me one glass of water. Again I asked him another glass of water for another person came with me. Same happend when I asked him for empty bowls. I also belong to hotel line in India. Where we take order and serve with smile. But always ask for water type and serve it first and then food. And always check in between if any need or ask something require by customer while they are eating meals. we were only customer there today. Over all want to say please improve your services and the way of hospitality. It was below average. I was not expecting. But rest all was good. Food was good with price. Picked this restaurant because of its good reviews, and we were NOT disappointed. Excellent food, great service, very clean and nice ambiance, even down to the 80's music! Will definitely be coming again before our next cruise. We live on Anglesey so can't order a takeaway, but would if we could. Highly recommended!

Food was nice and delivered on time with a polite driver. Only mistake made was breaking up the poppadoms and giving 4 original instead of 2 original and 2 spicy as requested.

Curry was good though not very warm. Bahji overcooked. Bombay aloo very mild.

We’d gotten tired of the same old ‘same old’ Indian/Eastern restaurants so decided to try Nepalese! What a joy! Having spent some time with real Gurkhas in the forces I was looking forward to this. A delight in every way! Great food, nice surroundings, quiet background music and superb service! Enjoyed it SO much we’re planning a pals get-together and my birthday there. Five Stars! I had hoped there might be goat-meat on the menu and Nepalese waiters, but what-the-hell, it didn’t detract from a great meal. We’ll be back……mob-handed!

We dined here yesterday - a family of six.The food was amazing.Staff are great, very friendly and go over and above to ensure every meal is perfect. We will definitely return- we were planning our next visit as we left ! Highly recommend.

First time I've been and it won't be long before I'm back. Courteous and attentive service, the food was excellent, and even the music was great. Very reasonably priced too. Do pick from the Nepalese menu rather than the more familiar Indian dishes, you definitely won't regret it. 😉

Not the same as last time we had it! It lacked in flavour (Pathia) mushroom Bhaji chicken in batter balls and chilli king prawn all tasted very similar not sure if they had a different chef this time but wasn’t wowed like last time. Will eat here again thou 100%

Chicken pakoras were limp and low grade. Rice was ok. Pathia was fine and the B Alloo was fine. Onion bahji was too big. We'd buy again but not the pakoras

The food has really gone downhill here unfortunately. We have been ordering takeaway for a long time, but the last few times it has been poor. The meat is now inedible, and has clearly been pumped with saline. We won't be ordering again.

Fantastic Nepalese and Indian food. My family, including two young kids, enjoyed the garlic naan, Chicken tikka masala, Lamb Biryani and Monk Fish Curry. The chef and team, including Raj, were friendly and hospitable. Would recommend this place for people looking to try or enjoy Nepalese and Indian comfort food.

Food was absolutely delicious. Onion bhajis were a little soft, but I don't really think that can be helped when you're not having them fresh out of the fryer. Substantial portions, very worth the money. Lots of speciality dishes I'd not seen or tried elsewhere before either. Defintiely will be ordering from there again.

Ordered food and it took them long 1hour to bring all starters , main course together. I liked Onion bhaji. Starters were good except lamp which was not cooked properly. We tried Lamp & Chicken Biryani which tasted the same and flat.

Loved the food. It was good price for the food. Quality of the food was excellent. We loved all the dish that we ordered. Chicken momo - Freshly made with so juicy. Kids favourite and to their taste was Chicken grill garlic starter.
