Test Kitchen Food Truck in Windsor and Maidenhead

No matter where you seem to find them, test kitchen food always hits the spot. Must have tried almost every item on the menu by now and never been disappointed. Amazing veggie/vegan options too

My family and I visited Test Kitchen at the brewery over the weekend and had a great time! We ordered the Oktoberfest burgers which were delicious maybe even the best burgers in Windsor!! The blondie was super yummy too. Definitely worth a visit!

Special Oktoberfest burger did not disappoint and the traditional fried chicken that stole our hearts! Don’t forget the aioli dip!

The 1000 layer potatoes with cream and caviar was a multi-sensorial experience. So wonderfully tasty and crunchy… It’s a hip environment, without being over the top. I visited on a rainy October evening and this place made eating outdoors very cozy. My Irish coffee was very Irish (wink wink) and it warmed me deep inside. This place is not cheap, but also not outrageously expensive. There was two of us, we had a potato appetiser, the Jerusalem artichoke and the hipsie cabbage, a lemonade, tea and an Irish coffe, total bill was £57. There is an automatically added 12.5% gratuity added to the bill. I am not a fan of automatically added gratuities, but I would have left a tip anyway, so I did not mind. I am in Windsor at a housesit, and I will recommend my host they add the Patch to their list of recommended eateries for visiting guests.

Every one of their dishes is absolutely amazing. A tasty unique interpretation. We went back the following evening that’s how good it is. They have a kids item of fried chicken… so delicious adults wants to eat it.. how often can you say that about the kids meal? :)

A really great, unique experience - Patch on the Plaza is like nothing else I have been to locally. There is something about being outside, and feeling like you are on holiday in Europe, that just makes you feel great! And the awesome cocktails and food definitely makes this my #1 choice. I have been staying in Windsor for a few weeks and there always seems to be something fresh and new on the menu, well done!

We had a phenomenal night at Patch on Saturday! The music was perfect, and the food was just incredible. It was my friends Birthday and the manager chose our food pre-order for us, as we were a group of 13. We were served a selection of the whole menu, which was perfect for all of us to share! The restaurant was super busy so it took quite a while for our food to start coming out, but we were looked after with fabulous cocktails in the meantime and were having fun so the time flew by. I’d really recommend Patch On The Plaza and I know my friends would too!

We waited 2 h to get our food. The waitress said that she could not take our order the first 1.20 h because the chef would get angry and stressed. We wanted to try the food as we read good reviews, we orders most shared plates on the menu but honestly, it was nothing special about it. Most things deep fried and not much flavour. Ingredients are local which is a plus. I would never go again or recommend this place and felt that we waisted our money.

What a great place to eat at! We’ve booked a dinner, based on Tripadvisor score and what a treat this was! Food was beautiful and we tried everything on the menu. Menu changes every two months so be quick!

Only because I want to keep it just for me…. We loved it! Having walked past saying yes must try one day we finally popped in on a cold day and they are dog friendly! Nice surroundings and under cover with heaters and blankets! Lucky to have a table for drinks and the cocktails were great, staff attentive and yes with the food passing by we were tempted to try the fried chicken, were not disappointed. Definitely going back to try the whole menu! And a few more drinks. Great addition to Windsor, which I see being very popular and great that they are staying for good! See you soon!!!

I absolutely loved my meal with Test Kitchen at Patch on the Plaza. Venue is lovely sitting outside and set up is perfect. The food is soooooo good! Highly recommend the fried chicken and fries! We tried potato salad and hummus too and both of those were delicious! Cocktails were super good too! Ive told everyone to go try it out!

El curry de cabra de Test Kitchen era igual de bueno, ¡estaba delicioso! ! ! La carne estaba deliciosa y tierna. El nivel de picante de los pimientos escoceses era perfecto: picante pero sin volar tu cabeza, aún podías probar todos los sabores y no necesitas un vaso de agua para deshacerte del calor. Last night Amelia and John cooked a 2 course meal for 12 of us celebrating a birthday over zoom! The food was fantastic, amazing tastes and great portions. Service was superb and I couldn’t recommend them enough. Thank you so much! 😘

La cocina de prueba atendió a más de 60 personas este fin de semana para mi fiesta de cumpleaños número 40 y no puedo recomendar lo suficiente. Drove on down to Windsor and Eton Brewery for some TK action tonight and good god was it worth it. I mean, seriously, how do burgers get this good? My wife and I both went for the garlic burger and that meat was oh so soft and succulent. I don’t know if I can eat burgers from elsewhere anymore - I’ve sampled TK and now, all else seems mediocre. If you’re ever in Windsor and are thinking of having a burger, find the TK van- to not do so would be a waste of time.

A great food truck that only has a select few items on the menu but does them really really well. Clearly these guys know their flavour combinations!

First of all I want to say that these guys can cook, and the flavours they created were epic. However on the night in question, only one item was on offer (the super bonbon) and neither myself nor my girlfriend are massive fans of pork loin. I actually thought the dish in question was a fancy hot dog, but that's my mistake.Had this been chicken or a burger it would have been a 5 star review. The turn off was that the pork loins were quite fatty (mine only had one big chunk of white fat) but my girlfriend had 3 or 4.Right place, wrong time.

Friday evenings outside of the brewery with Test Kitchen are the perfect combo. We had the piri steak roll and it was amazing. Friendly service and excellent food. So glad we have a quality food truck like this in Windsor.

We wanted something a bit different for our evening food and decided on a Greek theme as we both love the country and the food. I came across Test Kitchen as used to live in Windsor and contacted them to see if they could help. Booking them was easy and straightforward and on the day- the food was fab! So many comments on the Greek Gyros (chicken, lamb or haloumi) everyone loved it! Thank you so much

We booked Milly and the Test Kitchen for my daughter's 21st birthday party because she wanted more authentic and interesting food for her party than the normal caterers offered.Milly was great from the start with a wide variety of food choices across all tastes and requirements both meat/veg/halal/gluten free... you name it they can do it. All prepared and served from their food tuck parked in our drive way.The burgers are hand made to order and were incredible served with cheese and bacon. The Mole chicken was soooo good people were raving about it for days. For the vegetable lovers the pulled jackfruit was a revelation, looks and tastes better than pulled pork. I know that can't be possible.All of this served with a smile and good grace that made the party for my daughter. I cannot recommend Milly and the Test kitchen highly enough, thank you.

We visited gin in the park last year and this food van was the best one there by a long mile - so when we were looking for a food van for our party there was no need to look any further! Excellent food - everyone at the party loved it. Flexible and friendly - great service and were lovely to all our guests! Thank you so much guys!

Looking for somewhere for a lunchtime stop on a journey between South Wales and Brighton, I read a review for TKFT - and I’m so glad I did. As a butcher for 49 years, I've served a lot of "chefs" in my time. I just wanted to take the time here to praise John (and Millie) at The Test Kitchen. I've served them meat from The Royal Farms for a few years now and eaten the results several times. Let me say that John's attention to detail in his supply is second to none and his knowledge of ingredients rates with some of the highest quality restaurants I've served in my time.

Had both the Singapore chilli crab flat bread and the Truffled King Arthur beef flat bread - then we had the same again because they were so delicious!! Perfect with a few W&E; Brewery Beers. Thank you so much. Yum yum yum.......

Test Kitchen is now a regular thing for us for our Friday night dinner. (When they’re there) The pork bon Bon blew us away a few months ago and tonight I had a Frickin chicken burger which was also DELICIOUS. I couldn’t eat it quick enough. Service friendly and wait wasn’t too long considering it’s all made to order. Would definitely recommend.

Milly was extremely helpful in organising our event. The food and service was great, we could not have been happier! The food was wonderful - simple food made into a gourmet dish! Just had the Piri Bon Bon from this van. Fantastic flavours and perfectly cooked.You won’t find food better than this any where else in Windsor. Perfect with a pint from the brewery. Don’t tell anyone about this, keep it to yourself.

My daughter bought me a burger which was absolutely mouth watering and delicious. I would definitely recommend eating from here. The Test Kitchen Food Truck also do a variety of meals at different locations in and around Windsor. Look out for them on facebook where you will see what they will be serving. Everything is cooked while you wait and sometimes there is quite a queue but worth waiting for.

We drove to Windsor Brewery the other Fri to get a 'Bao Bun' Takeaway for the first time having only just discovered Test Kitchen. What a find ! Luckily we queued at the right time so got in early, got home and we not disappointed ! Wow Wow Wow ! Game Changed for Friday nights, to be honest. Fiance had the Beef Shin Buns and I had the Jack Fruit buns. Love Asian cuisine so struck gold this particular Friday. The Salted Caramel Crumble Fudge, in the little take away packs, were to die for !!! Love Love Love

My friend introduced me to the “Test Kitchen” food truck on a Friday night outside The Brewery, and I am so glad she did. We even went back again on the Saturday it was so good! The food is delicious and great value for money. The people are so lovely and their smiles are contagious. I can’t wait to see what’s on the menu next week!

We arranged the Test Kitchen for a corporate event at the W&E; Brewery and it was amazing from start to finish! The van was great fun, the staff were so lovely and helpful (on the night and before hand) and the food ...... so good! We had the Super Bon Bons and also veggie burgers. Have now stopped by the Windsor & Eton Brewery pub for a Friday evening drink twice and the food truck was cooking some fantastic smelling grub again. Although we had booked dinner in town we couldn’t resist the temptation of trying the 2 offerings: truffle steak & Brie on a bun, and peri peri chicken on a bun (there is also a veggie offered ... but being a carnivore I wasn’t interested!) All made fresh to order so there is a 5-10 wait but with the 12+ beers on offer (plus wine, soft drinks etc) there’s no rush. We were 4 that split the 2 “sandwiches “ and we considered it our starters for our later dinner...but I could have stayed all evening and had more as starters, mains , and dessert (I don’t need a sweet...could have had the steak and cheese as my dessert!)

These guys are smashing it!! If you want top quality food with amazing taste then I’d definitely recommend you visiting Test Kitchen, They do it all!

Each week, these guys produce the most amazing dishes. Truly delicious. They are a wonderfully friendly bunch, who clearly love what they do. Please go. This is a fantastic, local venture, run by people who genuinely care about food!

Test Kitchen + Windsor & Eton brewery = the ultimate Friday night combo. The flavours are always so clever and fresh. No idea how they manage to deliver a culinary breath of fresh air on such a regular basis. Sometimes can be tricky to eat, only because they stack so much love and creativity into a dish that their tower of flavours falls away into a bit of a mush of deliciousness alongside drinking the fabulous beer.

Ate at the test kitchen last night and these guys are amazing and the food is always flavoursome and interesting!! Better than a lot of restaurants. It’s always made fresh to order. My partner had the piri piri chicken (he said the best he’s ever tasted ) and I opted for the squash curry .. I’m usually a massive meat eater but can honestly say this was one of the most delicious curries I’ve ever had !’ Will definitely be going back !’ Thanks guys for the lovely food !! We also had the homemade fudge and that was equally as amazing

We have been wanting to try food at the test kitchen for months! Well we have and we were mind blown! The food was unreal & better than every restaurant we have eaten in! I love it is street food based so good old finger food! The taste is amazing, the owners are incredible & chef john! Master of food! We highly recommend them & for a small business highly recommend you visit them & support them! If I could rate more than 5 stars I would!

Test kitchen provided the food at the Windsor Brewery Beer Festival. The Blue Burger was just divine, the cheese being made from Guardsman and Stilton, but it was smooth, and I would have eaten a bowl full. The queue for food was testament to just how good the food was, handmade burgers, cooked to order. What more do you need?

Truly delicious - our only complaint is that the children ate all of their cheese burgers so there were no leftovers for the adults.

Test kitchen do great food. But fail to understand the nature of the event that they are catering for. A beer festival does not want crab curry that is very messy to eat, or sloppy burgers that end up being left the the carton. Please please please do good food well and suitably presented. We want to support local business but having this left to be eaten by fingers is not good. Please change!!!!!

I have enjoyed food from Test Kitchen several times over the last few months and it is always so good. Fresh ingredients cooked to order and always so delicious. Would highly recommend. Have introduced friends and family to their culinary delights and everyone agrees. Definately worth a visit!

This food truck has changed the game in Windsor for exciting and relevant street food. Every dish I have ever eaten (and it’s been a lot ) has been fantastic. John and Millie are true local faces and you can always count on them to brighten up your day with a tasty dish and a laugh. I look forward to seeing them go from strength to strength.

Having heard great things about the test kitchen we popped down for a visit - I had the Bon Bon which was so delicious! My husband is a (self- declared) burger connoisseur so opted for the burger that was on offer and he was blown away! We’ll be back, that’s for certain!

Often eat from Test Kitchen whilst enjoying a pint at Windsor and Eton brewery on a Friday evening. You need to be quick though as they can sell out. This is due to the fantastic food these guys serve. We have had the curry, the Bon bons, the ham egg and chips, the Beignets, and more. I had a speciality snack and it was fantastic. Beef brisket in an authentic paratha. It was well- cooked, original and delicious. The yummy smell emanating from the kitchen drew me away from the bar and the food did not disappoint! You can watch every dish being freshly-made from best ingredients and the chef is happy to chat and talk about the recipe. I will be happy any time I find this food at an event as the menu changes regularly and there are many delicious things to enjoy. The vegetarian option nearly turned me to the dark side and I am a devout carnivore!

After trying my first test kitchen burger 2 weeks ago I’m completely addicted. The tender melt in your mouth meat is to die for and married with finger licking good flavours. Not to be missed !!!

This business has been built by a great young couple who have enviable energy , enormous drive , and extreme talent and imagination. I have eaten both at their home pop up restaurant and their amazing food truck which goes to different locations in Windsor. They certainly have attracted a loyal following and have locals addicted to their fabulous offerings. They also do private parties and events . Keep an eye open and go try them .
