Kokedama in Lewes

Vegan is hard to come by. They had a fab choice and very well presented food - attention to detail was lovely. Really friendly team.

Went here with my friend for a lunch, first impressions, love the interior and got a warm and friendly welcoming, the team were very helpful and catered to my gluten free diet very well. The food was delicious, not tried anything quite like it before and would highly recommend to all to go.

Finaly got down to Kokedama, the fancy arm of the roundhill in lewes. Having been to the needlemakers on a few occasions I was pleasantly surprised how different the room felt with darker lighting and without the flow of people walking through. The food was excellent, we had the tasting menu, without the wine pairing (driving). 7 courses of delicate and balanced plates topped with fresh seasonal ingredients. Aesthetically as delicious, the plating was well considered with a variety of colour and textures. Service was on a par with the rest of the experience, attentive friendly staff who due to the relaxed pace of a smaller venue have the time to engage making the whole meal feel personal and unique despite having the same dishes as others. I cannot wait to see what the September menu will be! Until then I saw a plate off the à la carte go to a nearby table that is calling my name.

I can't rave about this restaurant enough! We went with the Tasting Menu (without wine pairing) and every dish was absolutely delicious - full of textures and flavours! The accompanying cocktails and wine we had were also super tasty - and also all vegan! Great atmosphere - staff were attentive and friendly - can't wait to visit again soon.

Was eagerly waiting for an opportunity to attend Kokedama since it opened a few weeks back, especially after seeing rave reviews on the local vegan FB pages - and we were not disappointed. The food was simply incredible - the best meal I've had in years, there are lots of vegan places that do the same types of food, this was different and clearly prepared and designed by a very talented chef. Both my friend and I chose the tasting menu and were happily surprised and delighted with every course, no rushing, loads of time to enjoy every flavour and to have a really pleasant evening chatting as well. We ordered a cocktail to start with, made with a local gin, it was really delicious. We chose not to have wine pairing but ordered wine from the wine list, I had a welsh chardonnay and it was really special. It's a real treat to be able to relax and know everything is plant-based so we didn't need to ask with every order - the service was great, friendly and fun - all in all, a great night out and we can't wait to go again.

Absolutely outstanding new restaurant in lewes. A lovely relaxed atmosphere and the most amazing food, every dish we had was exceptional. Service attentive and friendly. This restaurant is going places, book a table!
