Peninsula, Greenwich
21/11/2018: It was me, my husband, my 2 year old daughter and her aunt. We wanted to have a quick lunch since we were rushing for the nitto atp tennis match. We were met by the owner who talking on the phone stopped us with hand from 10 meters and ordered us to sit just right regrew and wait. So we did. I waitress came 5 min later and asked us for drinks, I answered we only want lunch. Answer: “ok, drinks?”

30/11/2018: Well what can I say! Everything was perfect. We didn’t book so couldn’t sit in the inner sanctum but our table in the bar area was great. We were attended to from walking in by Matt. Who was attentive and helpful and actually made our dining experience even better. Food exceptional I had scallops and black pudding daddy had famous squid and tony French onion soup. All so delicious appealing to the eye and didn’t last long! Mummy and I could have licked our plates!!!!

Darcy's Belfast Bistro

Shaftesbury, Belfast
01/12/2018: We came here for our first meal and weren’t disappointed. What a lovely find and warm and welcoming staff. The service was great and food was delicious! Lovely homemade Irish food. Shall return and definitely recommend to others.
28/11/2018: My husband and I went here 3 times during our stay in Northern Ireland in October, taking our toddler along with us. All 3 of us LOVED The Irish stew. I had the apple pie and my husband had the cheesecake once which we both very much enjoyed. My husband was a fan of the Guinness beer and on our last visit he ordered an Irish coffee which he also was a fan of and says he will never order anywhere else other than Ireland. The staff, especially the manager were very friendly and accommodating, and even remembered what we had ordered the previous times, especially my husband’s drink orders. As we were leaving for the last time, the manager shook my husband’s hand and introduced himself and the other two guys on staff by name. Thanks guys! If we are ever in Belfast again we will be going back to Darcy’s!

The lasagne is totally gorgeous and all meals very reasonably priced, well presented and very tasty. Waitress was very helpful and friendly. I plan to return again this weekend!

Pot Belly

Fort, Banbridge
02/12/2018: Food was lovely however the service of the staff in the restaurant left a lot to be desired. We had to continually ask for drinks, there was no water offered for the table. After waiting a considerable amount of time for our bill my partner went to get the attention of a staff member who were all talking, two staff members came towards our table and completely ignored us, disappointing service.
27/11/2018: We had roast beef for lunch. It was delicious. Very attentive staff. Really fabulous decor and ambiance. We will be back for dinner.

The Cuan

Strangford, Down, <20£
22/11/2018: We arrived after a day of visiting Winterfell (Castle Ward, just down the road) and were shown to our lovely room, which Maisie Williams stayed in during filming GoT seasons 1 and 2. The GoT banquet was amazing. The food was lovely and we pretty much had the room to ourselves - such a unique experience. Even one of the staff members got up during his dinner to go and get us some swords to make it even more magical - such a lovely thing to do. We tried the Hodoor beer and Lannister mead, which were both really good - I believe its the only place you can get it too. Of course we brought some home with us! If you are interested in the 'Journey of Doors' then you can see a beautiful one here which we admired after dinner, whilst having a few more Hodoor beers and chatting to the friendly locals. There are loads of interesting stories and memorabilia hidden around for you to look at, including BTS photos that the family took during filming in Winterfell Season 1 & 2 - Look out for Joffery's hair lol. Breakfast was made for us especially early at our request as we had a busy day ahead. Again, we had the room pretty much to ourselves and the breakfast was awesome - the attention to detail was on point! The staff were so attentive and welcoming throughout our stay - a truly unforgettable experience, thank you!
18/11/2018: Went out for a family dinner which was well proportioned. Food was lovely spent a lot of money on my day out here . The reason I'm saying this is . Charged me for a shortbread biscuit.. ""really""" . It's not the money it's the principle . After spending a lot for the dinner .. Will i be back probably.. C'mon Cuan dont be silly and charging for a (very small bit of shortbread) trivial but principality kicks in here .. you make enough money .

Shenanigans Irish Cafe

St Jude, Portsmouth
16/12/2018: I've visited Shenanigans 3 times in the past few weeks and it really is superb. Last night I visited for drinks and this morning for breakfast. It may not be Irish owned but it's everything an Irish bar should be. Great drinks (my favourite is Chieftain), great food (proper Irish breakfasts) and great service. Will visit every time I visit Portsmouth in future!
01/12/2018: I found Shenanigans on Trip Advisor when planning a day out in Portsmouth and Southsea and, having seen their menu, knew I definitely wanted to bring my (Scottish) husband here, as you don't find Lorne (Scottish square sausage) down South too often. Shenanigans didn't disappont: the Scottish breakfast (which included Haggis) was delicious and totally hit the spot at around midday, and fuelled us for an afternoon's shopping in Southsea and Gunwharf Quays.

The Copper Kettle

Bushmills, Moyle
05/11/2018: Kleine aber feine Auswahl an Kuchen, Torten und Scones, dazu auch Mittagessen (Sandwiches etc).
03/11/2018: We stopped here on our way from Belfast to the Giants Causeway. We were travelling with our 3 boys (ages 13 - 9). Full English breakfasts were on the wishlist! This place hit the spot perfectly! It’s lovely and clean & warm - just what we wanted on a cold November day. Staff were a little brusque but we put that down to the efficiency and speed at which they were working. The cafe was very busy but a table was cleared for us and we were seated in record time! However, a smile and a “welcome” would have been nice. That said, the actual service was excellent! All our breakfasts came at the same time and hot drinks at the same time too (as we’d requested). There was no waiting for anything. Couldn’t fault the efficiency of the service. The quality of the breakfast was really good too. All in all, a lovely spot for breakfast and worth a stop en route to the Causeway.

Made in Belfast Cathedral Quarter

Duncairn, Belfast
01/12/2018: We were a booking for 10 people who were colleagues from all over the UK and USA - we booked late and the restaurant was happy to accommodate us. Then we got involved with some drinks in the cathedral quarter so we were running late and they were still happy to accommodate us.
01/12/2018: We visited here for a late lunch on a busy Saturday and ordered from the December set menu. I had the prawns and crab to start which was delicious. My main course though was really good - the chicken supreme was delicious, loved the sauce and the sides. Everyone elses food looked equally amazing. The food here is consistently excellent and I would recommend a visit to anyone.
