Ginger Bistro

Shaftesbury, Belfast, 20-30£
17/08/2018: I went to Ginger Bistro for a dinner as it's close to my hotel. I walked in without queue. Food is average and the staff were all very busy running around. Need a lot of patience to be served. Wonder why the starter and the dessert were served with a piece of scarp menu cut in triangular shape as decoration (absolutely not necessary).
16/08/2018: We were looking for a restaurant on TA and found this place which was close to our hotel.

17/08/2018: Thanks so much for fitting us in yesterday evening. We had an hour to eat before our train home (Central Station was a lot closer than we thought!). Food was delicious and staff were so friendly - what more could you ask for. Would highly recommend.
17/08/2018: I booked this place for lunch after visiting Titanic. The staff here were friendly. I tried the recommended Boxty and it was special. The baked dessert was beautiful.

Tartine Restaurant at The Distillers Arms

Bushmills, Moyle, 30-45£
15/08/2018: Restaurant très cosy, très accueillant. Jolie déco.
14/08/2018: We had a table booked for the 'early bird' at 5.45pm and on arrival we were greeted and asked to take a seat in a lounge area. We were provided with various menus and offered a drink whilst we mulled over a varied selection on the menu. We stuck with the 2 course early bird menu circ £19 and ordered steak which was only a £2 supplement and a glass of wine was included as well. The staff were well trained, polite and efficient something I feel is sadly lacking in other restaurants in N. Ireland. The steaks were tender and could perfectly to order, garnished with mushrooms, union rings ,chips and with a dish of peppered sauce. Could not fault it. Our dessert of Apple and pear crumble and custard was delicious finished with a cup of coffee which was an add on to the bill. This place sets a high standard on the north coast. No wonder it's Ward winning. Please keep this up because we don't want to be disappointed when we go back!! Small point but I feel the waiter staff could be a bit more seamless as they seemed to be constantly walking round!

The Cuan

Strangford, Down, <20£
10/08/2018: We booked here pretty last minute this afternoon. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted and attended to particularly by the older gent who brought the food to our table. We ordered the wagyu burger and lasagne, both really good and great sized servings. Lovely place, great atmosphere and great food, would go back in a heartbeat. Excuse the photos, we had already tucked in before we remembered Tripadvisor
10/08/2018: The most wonderful hotel in the beautiful Strangford village at the harbour of a sea loch. Exceptional seafood and really friendly staff. The chowder is amazing!

Made In Belfast

Shaftesbury, Belfast
17/08/2018: I was given a quiet corner to enjoy my dinner which was great. I had 3 courses. The chargriller beef was very tender and delicious with the cream sauce. The most unexpected was the chocolate fondant dessert which I waited for more than 35 mins because 'the chef forgot about it'. Well I was on holiday and my patience level was higher than normal. The dessert was good.
15/08/2018: This place like the whole of Belfast was great but the staff made it extra special. Really interesting interior and menu and good wine choices. Staff were very professional yet friendly attentive and couldn’t have been more welcoming. We liked it so much we booked again for the next night. I had the lamb on the first visit, the waiter brought me a steak knife! The meat was so tender I could have cut it with a butter knife! On the second visit I had the duo of beef which was delicious. Great food great wine great staff. A must visit if you are in Belfast.

Morton's Fish & Chip Shop

Dalriada, Moyle
20/06/2018: The lineup outside of Morton’s wee shop was a good indication that this was the place to pick up supper. The locals were coming out with bags of fish and chips. The line moved quickly, you placed your order, were given a number and told when to come back. The fifteen minute wait was easy to pass wandering along the docks. They have an enclosed picnic shelter that you bring your takeout to eat in. The crab cakes are full of chunks of crabmeat. The prawns are also big chunks of meat battered in a light coating. Absolutely delicious! Chips and fresh made onion rings were great but we were so full of the fish that we were not able to finish the sides. Great value.
19/06/2018: If I'm ever up in Ballycastle, or the coast area there I always make a point of going to Morton's chip shop...excellent menu and the food is the best going for quality AND quantity and the price is fair for what you get... as I say, a MUST do in order to experience :-)

Yellow Heifer

Rathfriland, Banbridge
03/06/2018: We found the yellow heifer while looking for pizza, never heard of it before and could not pull up a review before going in so did not know what to expect. Firstly the staff are excellent and so thoughtful, we had no reservation but where looked after. On seeing how busy it was we thought well the food must be good, but what we found was the food is incredibe. Its the type of restaurant that you see dishes around you and go "oh I want that and that and I have to try that" the menu is unbelievable for a gastro pub, just wish we had something like it down in Dublin.
09/05/2018: Went there for Sunday lunch. The food was excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Will definitely be returning.
