Burgers and Barrels

Westmoreland, Bath and North East Somerset
04/12/2019: There ain’t joking in the other reviews when they say it is small! 4 tables and stools at the bar. So advised booking.
02/12/2019: Planing our visit to Bath and saw this little gems reviews. With a love for burgers I booked a table for 2. What great burgers, a really beautiful atmosphere and the rustic feel.... we weren’t disappointed. The staff are friendly, the regulars welcomed you and the reviews & ratings are well deserved.

Falmouth Gyllyngvase, Cornwall,Isles of Scilly
06/12/2019: Cant believe its a week since that amazing seafood platter, down to visit Falmouth Uni with my nephew , had no time to book anything but we had both seen the reviews for this amazing restaurant and luckily got a table - everything was great from the atmosphere to the warm welcome - and the food was so delicious , huge portion too unfortunately no room for dessert maybe next time we will give the cocktails a go too
16/11/2019: The owner of our Airbnb recommended this restaurant and we weren’t disappointed, the greeting from the staff and the feel of the restaurant instantly told us we had made a good choice, the food lived up to expectation with all 3 of us sampling different meals, the Steak was one of the best, good wine choice, will defiantly be going back

Super Sausage Cafe

Whittlewood, South Northamptonshire
24/11/2019: I love food, and navigate my way through life trying to find places and food that are worth finding, the Super Sausage has proved that a full English is not just a dumb staple of the road, ingredients are king here and from the first mouthful you can tell that thought, care and attention has been taken in sourcing and preparing every meal, the black pudding brought in from Scotland is just one example, the place also has a great atmosphere, is bright, cheery and lively, petrol heads are in their element here, memrobilia addorns the wall and it's located in an area well served by main roads making it easy to get to from most of the Midlands, well up the list of cafés to visit on the Motorcycle News magazine's golden sausage awards table, this place is worth a few moments of your time!
19/11/2019: Perfect for what it is. Decent service and food. Only thing I can say to remember is that unless you have the biggest full monty breakfast no toast/bread and butter comes with your food which is a bit odd.

Compass Point Eatery

Queen's Park, Brighton and Hove
07/11/2019: Stopped at the Holiday Inn up the road and didn't want a hotel chain breakfast. So popped to the Compass and what a delight. Firstly the place was very clean, cosy and to be welcomed by a lovely gently dog sitting so well behaved on the sofa by the window. The breakfast was also delicious, I had pancakes, with fruit/maple syrup and bacon which were amazing, my son who is a vegetarian had a cooked breakfast which he said was the best he had tasted. We were also served by a lovely young lady who kept our coffee cup full (think we had 3 cups in the end) we stayed for some time, chatting and stoking Oscar, wouldn't hesitate to go back again, just wish we lived nearer.
04/11/2019: We had a Saturday brunch and the food was terrific. The nicest pancakes this side of Haight-Ashbury in San Francisco. Excellent coffee too. My son and husband loved their food.

Boo Koos

Helston Central, Cornwall,Isles of Scilly
07/12/2019: Brilliant visit food was great, and HUGE!! not for the faint hearted but definitely worth a visit, will be back
22/11/2019: Went to Boo Koos while visiting family, this place is truly amazing, food was second to none best I’ve had in a long time ,lovely atmosphere and friendly staff shame we haven’t got one in Kent ,can’t wait to come back for more x

Eat Me Cafe

Castle, Scarborough, <20£
07/12/2019: Perfect meeting place, tasty food & chilled wine served by friendly staff at reasonable prices. Close to shops, theatre, railway & bus stations.
06/12/2019: Had lunch here today. No need to book a table for lunch. Varied menu with lots of choice. Very quick service. I had Thai green curry (chicken) & my daughter had Chicken Satay. Both were served on enamel lipped plates with brown rice & homemade coleslaw. The curry also came with extra curry sauce in a small jug. The meal was delicious & with a coffee and tea came to less than £20. Choice of food is good and staff were friendly and efficient. My first visit but certainly not my last. A really pleasant experience.

The Canteen

Newport, Pembrokeshire
04/12/2019: We ate on a Thursday Evening and all table's were full. The build your own pizza was fabulous, cheese, cheese, cheese, olives oh and pineapple.. great selection of beer and friendly staff. Highly recommended, booking may be important as it's not massive!
17/11/2019: Dropped in after a morning at St David's, it's a small venue and dog friendly at lunchtime, I had a beer and the wife a latte, the staff made a huge fuss of our dog and gave him treats and water.

Blas Burgerworks

St Ives South, Cornwall,Isles of Scilly, <20£
27/11/2019: Have not been here for a while. Really nice burger, great choice and good choice for vegetarians. Atmosphere nice - sat on large table with others - made for a nice evening out.
05/11/2019: Blas makes very good burgers. They would be even better if they used a bit more fat to make the burgers even juicier. The fries to go with the burger are very good as well. The only problem is that there is always a wait before you can have a table. Worth the wait though.

The Meat Counter

Falmouth Gyllyngvase, Cornwall,Isles of Scilly
22/11/2019: I usually have the veggie option except here it was clear that the provenance of their meats is paramount so we both had beef - I had the Tex Mex burger with sides of sea salt fries, my partner had a full on biggest burger on the menu . Both really really good - the chilli cheese fries are fabulous too, all very filling. Wine is by the glass of whatever they have open at the moment and was a really nice Bordeaux. Great local beers on offer too. The service was excellent - friendly and really helpful. Couldn't have been better. Really!
02/11/2019: After an abortive visit to the new Boo Koos restaurant in Falmouth my son and I were pretty grumpy (see my Boo Koos, Falmouth review).

Bluebird Cafe

Leith Walk, Edinburgh, City of, <20£
30/11/2019: Small but packs a punch. What a little gem of a place this is, coffee was beautiful and I ordered the breakfast burrito and it didn’t disappoint! Will be going here again next time we’re up visiting
22/11/2019: Great little place. Good food and a cosy atmosphere. Owners made you feel welcome. Off the beaten track but well worth a visit

Steak and Omelette

St Peter and the Waterfront, Plymouth
07/12/2019: From the minute we came through the door the service we received was excellent and the staff were friendly and very helpful would highly recommended
01/12/2019: 29th Nov. travelled 55 miles from East Devon to Plymouth with my brother to see our other brother. He booked a table at the Steak & Omelette, a place we have visited many times over the last couple of decades.

Go Houghton Bar & Restaurant

Houghton Hall, Central Bedfordshire
03/12/2019: I absolutely live this place. We are fortunate enough to live a few minutes away and have been here many times. This visit was a belated birthday meal. As always, the service, food and drinks were all perfect.
28/11/2019: We have visited Go Houghton a few times now over the past year and after our initial wariness have been completely bowled over by the level of service and standard of food for the price. Every time we have been we have been greeted in a professional manner and attended to in the same way throughout. The menu has something for everyone and without a doubt the curries are very good as indeed the jerk chicken is. In this day and age people are so quick to criticise but if you want a reasonably priced meal to suit all tastes with good service then this is the place to go locally. Well done all !!

Prime Steak & Grill

St Peters, St Albans, 45-60£
07/12/2019: Nice place to take dinner. We had the best steak in town. Service was exceptional and also managers were very kind. We were welcomed with a nice cocktail. In other words the food and drinks were the best !!
01/12/2019: Shared the 1kg porterhouse steak, Mac and cheese, garlic mushrooms, chips, red wine, and pecan pie. All phenomenal and wouldn’t change anything about it. Sauces also generous and tasty. Service is spot on and very professional.

West End, City of London,Westminster
07/12/2019: Visiting from the US, and saw a YouTube video about this restaurant and decided to book prior to our trip. You have to make a reservation (open table) otherwise you might end up waiting.
07/12/2019: We met up with another couple who recommended and booked Blacklock Soho. The restaurant is small, cosy with a great atmosphere. My wife loves a fillet steak as she hates fat and was recommended the Rump by the waiter. My friend and I shared a Porterhouse. This was served ready carved and the waiter explained both the cuts, a sirloin and a fillet. This tasted superb. However my wife was extremely disappointed with her Rump and gave it to me. It was mostly fat and she ended up buying a take away burger on the way home!

KK's Texan Grill House

Waddon, Croydon
17/07/2019: After looking at reviews we decided to give a try The food was bland the service was ok Would be ice to see the staff a bit more happy But maybe was one off Not going back soon
06/07/2019: Big portions, excellent food, brilliant service (especially Courtney, who has a great memory - we hadn’t been for months and she still remembered my name and order).
