21/02/2020: Lovely visit for lunch. Fab Bacon and Brie toasted ciabatta. Wifey had a tasty jacket potato and Dad had a half breakfast. Lovely spot. I hope whoever buys it keeps it similar 🤩

Falmouth Gyllyngvase, Cornwall,Isles of Scilly
15/03/2020: Iv visited amanzis so much now that there is not a lot I haven’t tried on their menu. Yet, there is not one bad thing to say about this place. Outstanding food every time. You can really taste every flavour and the meat is always perfectly cooked to your liking! The owners are such lovely people and amazing hosts. They certainly know what they are doing when it comes to cooking this amzaing South African food.

Go Houghton Bar & Restaurant

Houghton Hall, Central Bedfordshire
15/03/2020: Never had a bad meal here and the staff are always lovely.Visited before Christmas and it was busy (that time of year and all), but was great to see the managers behind the bar and front of house supporting their staff and being available.Service with a smile always and the food is always superb and reasonably priced.
15/03/2020: Second time here in 10 days ! Really good service from really happy staff, my last trip here last Thursday, with a group of 7 Food was excellent with MASIVE PORTIONS all at a fare price, but find the drinks a bit dear !

Super Sausage Cafe

Whittlewood, South Northamptonshire
05/07/2020: So happy to finally get back to the SS for brekkie. Fab service and fab food as always. See you again soon
18/06/2020: Always a queue but never a wait. The staff are great, especially seeing how hard they work feeding the never-ending stream of customers. Great atmosphere enhanced with great tunes and decor to match. And the food... you wont be hungry after one of their amazing bacon cheeseburgers, or a classic fry-up with extra black-pudding. Just remember to bring some change for the nodding-dog charity pot by the till...

The Green Man

Lincrest, South Kesteven
27/05/2020: Excellent takeaway this evening. A selection of burger and chips, fish and chips and pizza. We all enjoyed our meal. We also had the take away dessert. What a fabulous idea this is. Biscoff millionaires shortbread is Devine! Book your takeaway!!
08/03/2020: Seven of us had a superb meal here. A great choice of traditional pub meals on the regular menu, plus a good variety of more up-market specials. We needed somewhere for a Sunday lunchtime gathering & chose The Green Man because it has its regular menu, as well as a couple of roasts. It was for my Mum’s 80th birthday & they even put her favourite fish (sea bass) on as a special for her! I’m vegan & they gave me a few options too, which I appreciate. Staff are friendly, service good, surroundings & atmosphere lovely & relaxed. We’ll be back!

Boo Koos

Helston Central, Cornwall,Isles of Scilly
26/05/2020: I spotted the post on Facebook that Bookoos were reopening for takeaways, we had been pondering what to do on our anniversary so this was very fortuitous! We pre booked as was recommended and were very glad we had as we saw some people were turned away. The collection was seamless and had been well thought out to ensure the safety of both staff and customers. For the full BooKoos experience I loaded our round metal trays and an assortment of condiments into the car as that's where we were dining. It was absolutely delicious as always! We had Regular Cheddar Cheezy burgers (mine with extra regular toppings of cheddar cheese & beer battered onion rings), Li’l Boo fries and a side of coleslaw. Yum!!!Thank you BooKoos for making our day!
20/03/2020: Fabulous meal with local friends on holiday. Possibly the best burger we have ever eaten and lovely fries. Also the milkshake was incredible Reece’s milkshake - wow. Lovely place to sit and very friendly staff who make you welcome and make sure you have everything you need. We will make this a go to place whenever we come down to Cornwall - which is often!

Eat Me Cafe

Castle, Scarborough, <20£
27/06/2020: Hands on, best restaurant in the area. If you want a bit of culture and some good food, then get yourself down. Both the Asian and the American cuisine offered there are excellent. Well done to the people behind it offering something different to the rest of Scarborough, you've done really well. Waiting staff are great and the ambience is also ideal. Have been twice and would certainly return.
22/02/2020: Amazing dog friendly cafe. Friendly staff. Great food. I had the breakfast burrito and it was so tasty. Will definitely visit again when we are in Scarborough. Cash only.

Blas Burgerworks

St Ives South, Cornwall,Isles of Scilly, <20£
09/03/2020: I get the concept good food which is all local and built around sustainable suppliers !We would always come here as it does a cracking burger but on recent time’s I feel the crown has slipped For one bookings are a night mare and if you go in October or with kids and I do both you can’t risk a long wait for a table - there booking system had no Ryme or reason The tables are shared with other parties and there are no toiletsFinally the menu never changes so it seems a little dull- plus drinks are proper expensive!Food is quality but expensive starters and burgers for four £80-£90Simply not worth it imho
04/03/2020: If you love burgers (and even if you don’t ) you have to try a Blas Burger. They are the best of the best!! So much variety, veggie/vegan options, great gluten free info and alternatives, service that is above and beyond... just all round perfection! Eat in or takeaway (both are worth the wait during busy times I promise you).

Rising Cafe: From the Rubble

St Michael's, Coventry, <20£
11/03/2020: My wife and I visited the Coventry Cathedral during our recent visit to Coventry. Friends told us about the Rising from the Rubble Café and suggested we have lunch there, so after our very interesting visit to the Cathedral ruins we went down to the cafe. It is quite a place. It is operated by a charity organization, and is located in what was the basement of the Cathedral. It was quite crowded, but we were quickly seated. Our order was taken and we received our meals in a timely fashion. The food was tasty and the service was good. I recommend it to anyone visiting the Cathedral or the surrounding area.
09/03/2020: A wonderful find whilst looking around Coventry Cathedral. This is a Vintage cafe which was very busy, . Ambiance brilliant, food was amazing everyone enjoyed afternoon tea. Would definitely go back if we revisit Coventry.

Compass Point Eatery

Queen's Park, Brighton and Hove
14/03/2020: As a group of six, we went to Compass for breakfast and ordered an array of dishes (large breakfast, meat hash, burritos) and every single one was frankly disappointing. Low-lights include: a meat hash that was simply cheap sausages and bacon DEEP FRIED served with bland tasteless tomatoes and raw onion. A breakfast burrito with the kind of chorizo you find in a basic supermarket antipasti selection, and were half hot half cold. Finally, it took well over 45mins to get our food and each dish arrived staggered over 20 mins meaning some of us were finishing up with other only just getting their food. At one point we order orange juice and toast which also took a while to arrive due to a member of staff having to run across the road to the corner shop and buy them! It is genuinely puzzling to see the average reviews this place has received based on our experience which left us regretting going at all. Staff were friendly and polite but the food needs some serious work. Most people can do MUCH better food at home.
07/03/2020: The food was delicious, the staff were very friendly and the restaurant itself is very homely. If we ever come back to Brighton, we will definitely be coming back!

Burgers & More

Low Harrogate, Harrogate
17/03/2020: Visited burgers and more after seeing a burger challenge on Beard Meats Food YouTube channel and then looking it up on TripAdvisor. It definitely did not disappoint. We visited on a Thursday lunchtime and it was fairly busy so imagine it gets very busy at peak times. Our waiter (didn't catch his name) was incredibly helpful from the moment we walked in. He sat with us at the table and gave us a bit of background info about the local/fresh produce they use in the restaurant and then recommended burgers for us both based on our likes. After much deliberation (so much choice!) We decided on the ultimate cheeseburger and Mess. Both were incredible and so flavoursome. The burger patties themselves were so delicious and then the toppings just made them even more amazing. We shared an Eton mess sundae for dessert which was also to die for. Will definitely be back when visiting Harrogate in the future!
11/03/2020: It was our first visit to Burgers & More and we already can’t wait to go back. The food was delicious (and quirky!) and the service friendly. We were celebrating a special occasion and the team went above and beyond to help. Highly recommended!

Courtneys Steakhouse

Daisy hill, Newry and Mourne
13/03/2020: If I had to choose one word to describe this restaurant it would be unbelievable! UNBELIEVABLE food! UNBELIEVABLE service! I honestly could not say a bar word about this place! Timmy deserves a promotion! what a phenomenal guy! customer service was 1st class so impressed!

Half Man! Half Burger!

Central St Leonards, Hastings
19/06/2020: Had a takeaway from here, absolutely loved it. Standard was just the same as eating there. Hot and tasty. Highly recommend it.
16/06/2020: We love this place! I actually didn't like burgers at all until my partner made me go and it's completely changed my view on burgers. These are so good. I always have the smokestack which has this tasty bacon and onion relish along with other things. The burger as a whole is just so juicy and delicious, no nasties here! The hand cut chips with rosemary are also a must. On the sea front too, so you can sit out if you want like we did.

The Slamwich Club

Joiner's Square, Stoke-on-Trent
06/06/2020: I’ve ordered twice now during lockdown & both occasions the service has been impeccable. Staff have clearly made an effort to move furniture & ensure social distancing requirements are followed. Customers are given a time slot to pick up their slamwich to ensure there are not too many people in there. I arrived to pick up my Slamwich and on both occasions was made to feel welcome by the staff. My order was placed on the end of the bar & staff moved back to enable me to get my order and respect the 2m distance. The Slamwich...oh my! Amazing! Both times my Slamwich and chips have been piping hot and taste amazing!
19/03/2020: We love The Slamwich Club! Great choice of sandwiches (plus salads, specials and main meals) to suit all tastes. We had off the lunch menu, exceptional value for money. The side of frickles were delicious! Friendly staff, you don’t feel pushed out at all. We ate our lunch then relaxed and finished our drinks. At this present time, Please support your local businesses where you can!We will be back!

56 North

Southside / Newington, Edinburgh, City of, >100£
16/03/2020: My partner is partial to trying new gins and the menu here is extensive. Most gins around £4:50 each and tonics £2. It is nice and airy and sitting in a booth was cosy. So a mocktail , 3 G&T's and two Oreo sundaes were £33.25. Large hen party were having a gin tasting.
16/03/2020: Came here for the gin and cheese tasting and it was fabulous. This is all done downstairs and the best bit - the gins were all from Scotland so they kept it local. Cheeses were good, our host, Neil was a quirky individual but very likeable and incredibly knowledgeable about all things gin. would highly recomend.
