Nice food at Blackburn college today. Only the 2nd day this term that the restaurant has been open to the public, run by this years students. It was great!

7 of us dined here after a network meeting in the Industrial Collaboration Zone. The food was divine and it was no trouble that due to awkward dietary preferences that 2 of us had one of the starter options as our mains courses. The students waiting on were very polite and answered all our questions with clarity. Thank you to everyone involved especially the ones slogging in the kitchen that we didn't get to meet. Incredible food, presentation was amazing and the flavours were delicious. Tables were set beautifully too and the cutlery was lovely quality, it’s the little details that make it so good.

Food was amazing cannot fault what they are teaching at this college. If this is the calibre of food we are going to be getting in future generations of restaurants then im really looking forward to it.All the staff are lovely and always extremely accommodating.Keep it up ill definitely be back as much as I can. First visit since lockdown and wow a taste explosion. Had the 4 course meal and everything was delicious. Staff were amazing and attentive. This training restaurant would give established restaurants a run for their money. Highly recommended.

If you haven’t already been, why not? From the welcome to the service, the food to the bill, the whole experience was faultless. The food is such good quality, so tasty and professionally plated up, it’s very easy to forget you’re in a College Training Restaurant. 3 courses plus bread and hummus, for £10… it’s unbelievable. We will definitely be visiting again. Get booked in… if there’s room. Enjoy!

First time visiting here and I would highly recommend to anyone. The food is superb, wonderful service and a Covid safe environment . I’d happily pay far more than what they are charging.

Astounding food once again. Even more technical skills on show due to streamlined menu - tiny balsamic gel balls anyone?? I would never normally order fish but as it was part of the menu, a great way to try it and it was stunning. My lunch companions made me book again that evening for our next monthly meet up.Great service too. The best food in Blackburn and fantastic value.

This is fine dining at a basement price,the food is 1st class,the drinks are good value and the students do a great job,looking forward to our next visit.

My wife and two friends went for lunch today. The restaurant is very well laid out plenty of social distancing and a pleasant atmosphere. It's a set menu with things that we said we wouldn't order usually but we were pleasantly surprised we all enjoyed everything on the menu. The food was excellent. You couldn't have got better in a five star restaurant. The service was also excellent the servers were young and training but first class. The hostess was really good answering questions knowledgable and pleasantly. All in all an amazing meal. A credit to the college.

Treated ourselves to a 4 course meal, which as always was perfect. Keisey and Rosie looked after us and they did a fantastic job of it. Scholars are doing this lunch time deal at the moment for just £10 and anywhere else you would pay £25 to £30 if not more for a similar meal. Thanks again for making the visit special.

Had a delicious pizza from the takeaway menu I’d highly recommend it to anyone who’s thinking about visiting the restaurant before they re-open for dine in again on the 18th of may, I’ll be definitely be visiting again

Fantastic food here. Some of the best chefs in town. I would really recommend to come here for takeaways or to dine in when allowed.

The food is delicious starting from the starters, mains right the way through to desert.Chips 17% __ not much to comment about the chips as the portion of chips was very little i.e. counted 5 chipsBeef Burger 100% excellentSticky Toffee Pudding 100% excellentPizza 90% __ could do with cutting into piecesOverall, excellent foods!....

Today we had the homemade burger and colslaw with chips, the burger was packed with flavour and really filled me up, it was absolutely beautiful and the sticky toffee pudding to die for, all the flavors work so well together. I couldnt eat the pudding til over an hour after the main as the burger so filling. I cannot wait to go back and sit indoors at this amazing restraunt. I didnt get no photos as I was to hungry by the time I got home.

Absolutely amazing food and service, there's nothing I can fault about this place, For the price you pay, it's difficult to find something of this quality. Furthermore, the food is prepped and served by students (while supervised by highly experienced industry professionals). 10/10

After several failed attempts to book / visit. I finally managed to sort a Friday off.Booked the 3 courses for £10 and was very very impressed.The whole experience from inquiry to collection was seemless.After seeing this week's menu on FB, I emailed and received this week's menu / price / times the next dayOrdering and payment was very simple.Something that cannot be said for the food.Gorgeous Oriental Trio / Flavoursome Sweet & Sour Chicken - Fried Rice / Devine Lemon Tart.Restaurant quality food at a fraction of the price.Well done Team Scholars.

Got the flatbread with lamb samosa with the cucumber and sauces etc. Cooked to perfection and service at Scholars was perfect as usual. Students and staff are brilliant at what they do. The best just keeps getting better! Highly recommended.

The meals my husband and myself received were delicious,we both throughout enjoyed them. They were excellent value for money too. We will be taking advantage of this service again. A big thankyou to all the staff.

I've been to the restaurant several times and was keen to support the students starting up a takeaway service, so ordered a selection of food for a family lunch. Everything was well packaged and delicious - special mention for the gambas pil pil, which made the car smell amazing on the journey home, and didn't disappoint on the plate, absolutely delicious. The food is always very high quality and a bargain price. Big props to the students and teaching staff.

Easy to order and pay for online - we took advantage of the price offer on a Wednesday. The food was collected from the restaurant where waiting areas were socially distanced. Everyone was welcoming and the food was absolutely delicious - I will be contacting the restaurant to see if I can get a copy of their sweet and sour receipe. We have already ordered again for next week.

Great service, excellent presentation, both the turkey and beef burger were good quality. 10/10 would come again.

Used the takeaway service with colleagues and we were all impressed with the price, professionalism of the staff and also the quality of the food was impeccable. Will definitely be using it again and highly recommend it!

I'm a regular diner at Scholars restaurant and was really disappointed when I heard they had to close due to the national lockdown. They have now started doing collection orders and they did not disappoint! I ordered a beef burger meal and a lemon posset and they both came with all the trimmings. Delicious food, I can't fault it. Excellent service, collection was quick and easy and really good value for money. Scholars is one of my favourite restaurants and I definitely recommend it 100%.

We visited on Friday 23rd October for the first time but definitely not the last.We were welcomed into a very light and comfortable restaurant by Karen and her lovely staff. The food, as several others have commented was amazing, served with a smile which added even more to the experience. I recommend anyone to dine here ASAP.Every course was faultless and if anywhere does a better sticky toffee pudding in both taste and presentation I would be very surprised.Value wise, I have paid so much more for far inferior food at some highly rated restaurants, back very soon.

Honestly one of the most delicious meals I've ever tasted! Worth every penny of the £8.50/person for three courses.All courses were the perfect portion size, superbly presented and each bite was amazing. The yoghurt ice cream and cheesecake was my favourite, I could have eaten serving after serving. All aspects of our visit were just lovely and we will 100% be returning.

I visited Scholars Training Restaurant for lunch today and was astonished with the high quality of service, organisation and mouth-watering food served. I have eaten in many “Modern British” restaurants and Scholars is up there with the best. A 3 course lunch menu costing just £8.50 is an absolute steal, considering many starters elsewhere come in at that price. I am glad I was wearing stretchy trousers but still had to ask for a doggy bag for my dessert. Beautiful food, superbly presented. Huge respect for the students and staff in service today.

This was my second visit in the past 12 months, I don’t know why I don’t come more often. Absolutely amazing food, not just in taste but also in presentation. The customer service is on point from start to finish. As for the cost, worth the value is an understatement. Thankyou once again, you should all be proud of your talent and expertise. PS I am so full I need an afternoon nap, if you haven’t tried it, trust me get booking, you won’t regret it.

Just arrived home after the most amazing meal! Exquisitely presented, and well delivered. I would like to name the staff, who were amazing, but sadly, as I slip into a comfortable food coma, their names have escaped me. Highly recommend anyone goes, and we'll definitely be back!

Cannot fault a single thing. The setting, the table service, the food, all impeccable. An absolute pleasure to have eaten what these students made for us, and we will most definitely be returning again soon.

Our first meal at Scholars and we will definitely be back! The service was quick and professional, we would never have known that this was the first day opening after being closed due to Covid. We were well looked after by attentive students and the food was first class. The kitchen even provided my baby son with his own mini fish and chips which was every bit as delicious and beautifully presented as the adult meals. We haven’t eaten out much recently, but with well spaced tables, a high standard of cleaning and other precautions it felt a safe place to come with my family. It’s so rare to be served food of such a high standard, but it be so affordable. Excellent all round.

This was the first day of opening after the COVID-19 shutdown. All precautions in place and a well organised opening.I have been fortunate enough to eat at some really outstanding restaurants around the world. The food at Scholars was some of the best I have tasted.The decor fits well with the "Scholars" theme and it is bright, contemporary and fresh with clean lines and a spacious layout.Although the students are learning, it was nice to see eager young faces with a positive outlook and some pride in what they were doing.As a training restaurant with such young people serving one would expect to see mistakes and under confident staff but in reality there were no mistakes and in a subtle way the learning environment added to the feel and experience and we enjoyed the meal immensely. The two staff members that looked after us, Connor and Liana were brilliant. Well done.I would categorise this restaurant as excellent.

Food was excellent very good value for money. Only fault was poor service taking plates when not everyone had finished but addressed this to the manager.

Went with my wife for lunch today (Friday) only a few tables empty we both had salmon for starters and although it was a small portion it was excellent especially for the price we paid, next was chicken which I couldn’t fault it again was excellent and finally it was sticky toffee pudding which was the best my wife and I had ever had .The experience overall was great and we would recommend it to anyone for a cheap and excellent lunch!!

Our first visit today and I cannot believe we haven't before.The food was beautiful both in look and taste.I had suckling pig followed by chicken supreme and to finish a gorgeous rhubarb trifle.The service was excellent, especially for such young people.You are all a credit to your college!!!

I visited the restaurant with 9 colleagues for a team lunch. We were promptly seated in a polite and professional manner and from then on received attentive, without being intrusive, service throughout. The food on offer was also brilliant. A small menu of 3 choices per course, I ordered the suckling pig, risotto and rhubarb trifle. Each dish was prepared and presented to a high quality, served quickly and tasted great. I don't think a single plate (out of 30) went back with anything left. The restaurant also clearly cares about their customers. We were a mixed group and care was taken to ensure meals were prepared without meat or alcohol traces for some dietary requirements and the restaurant team were keen to ensure no mistakes were made in this regard. I highly recommend and will be returning later in the year - thank you very much!!

My first time here and was truly impressed! We were a group of 6 visiting the restaurant for a work lunch. A 3 course meal for under 10.00! The customer service was brilliant with staff going out of their way to accommodate, the ambience was very relaxing and calm and the food was truly delicious; prepared and served beautifully. The best meal i have had in a while, and i eat out regularly. My friends and i had a lunch on the 10th March which was absolutely superb , staff very efficient and welcoming. The four of us had 3 courses and every course was spot on . We couldnt believe the price for what we got , we would willingly have paid more. Will be back again shortly

The food on offer for a networking dinner was awesome. Cooked and served by the students. The cheese pie was just too good, I could have eaten two. The ginger sticky pudding was light and fluffy served with a rich toffee sauce. Will definitely use this venue.

I attended an event for International Women's Day at Scholars Restaurant. This is the second year I have been and the food on both occasions has been outstanding. Beautifully cooked and presented and extremely tasty. No doubt some future celebrity chefs to come.

I meet up with friends here every couple of months. The food is always excellent, far better than in many expensive restaurants, and always beautifully presented. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and the service is top class. I have recommended Scholars to many friends.

This is place is so good I feel like keeping it to myself lol. Food was amazing as you can see from the pictures. Real fine dining at unbelievable prices. I was taken here for my birthday and we was blown away. Front of house lady was great and all the staff very polite. They do a limited menu but concentrate on making what they do put out the very best it can be. Every course was knockout and the sticky toffee pudding was the best I’ve ever had ( and I’ve had a few )
