Berts Jazz Bar in Belfast

The top spot for me and the wife during our stay in all of Ireland. The jazz, the drinks, the vibe. What a beautiful place to hang out.

Visited as a birthday/honeymoon treat so spent a little more than we usually would. Staff were attentive but not intrusive, live jazz was enjoyable and the atmosphere was perfect. A group of our North American cousins decided they were more interested in talking and laughing loudly, which was slightly unfortunate given the live performance, but the venue can't be held responsible for that.

Bert's Jazz Bar is a great romantic Jazz and dining experience, where you get the best of both worlds. Very cosy atmosphere and ambiance, very attentive and courteous staff, and excellent menu choices. My steak was a little overcooked, but perhaps that's just a communication issue. Plenty of couples having a romantic night out. The Jazz group was excellent with a vocalist/pianist, Trumpeter and drummer. Definitely recommend Bert's Jazz Bar!

Had an amazing experience watching and listening to Sj Cooper, Ryan longridge and Linley Hamilton, felt like I was in New Orleans, highly recommend seeing them

We popped in on a Friday loved the look and vibe booked for Saturday night’s second seating for the jazz (billed as be bop and standards) starting with excellent martinis followed by the creamy 5-spiced cauliflower soup, entrée of mussels, cordon blue and pasta that were all superb! Service was a bit slow but wasn’t a problem with the entertainment. This was a sticking point for me as I looked forward to hearing some bop when we were offered 50’s off-the-strip Vegas lounge instead. There wasn’t a single be bop tune on the set list and I’m all for giving new musicians time to sit in for a bit but not to linger awkwardly on the bandstand taking meek solos. The clarinet player didn’t have the facilities to play bop (not entirely sure the band did either), but I don’t think the audience was here for it judging by the crowd. Overall a lovely evening but not quite the musical experience I had hoped for.

We came here for lunch, atmosphere was nice and staff were nice. We ordered goats cheese panna cotta for starters which was really nice. For the main we had gnocchi and pork with scallops. Gnocchi was not actual gnocchi dish and something similar to croquetas but it was still nice. Pork was nice aswell.

Lovely night in every way. Excellent service.We were so well looked after by Pedro and his team. Thank you to all staff Kitchen,Floor and bar. Food was absolutely delicious. Was a lovely cosy car. Was Saturday night around 8pm and there wasn't actually any jazz playing which was a shame. Didnt stay for food. Just drinks.

Worth the visit! I went there with my partner for her birthday. The staff made us feel welcome, and the singers put on a tremendous performance!

Great piano bar. Expensive. Only had starter and main plus a beer and glass of wine. Great idea to buy someone a voucher as a gift. Great experience. 10% added to the bill.

Everything is great! Especially dessert "Alaska"! This dessert is an incomparable creation, worthy of the Sultan of Sultans himself! This dessert is not just food, but a hymn to luxury, a symphony of sweet notes, each of which sounds like an angelic choir. It melts in your mouth like the morning breeze on rose petals. Its taste is something that could be served at a feast in paradise, where the houris themselves present it to the chosen ones of fate. The honey here is sweeter than the kiss of the most beautiful concubine, the nuts crunch like gold coins falling into a treasury. If this dessert were a person, he would be crowned the king of tastes; if he were music, nightingales would sing him in the most exquisite gardens.

Great venue for hearing good music. Outstanding menu with well presented and tasty food. It became my favorite spot in Belfast.

My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary in Berts Jazz Bar last night and we're so glad we did. Everything and I mean everything was perfect but the key to it all was the wonderful staff who attended us with such professionalism. We started the night in one of the booths with a couple of cocktails, an old fashoned and Napoleon's code, both gorgeous. For main course we had the rib-eye and beef bourguignon, dessert was creme brulee, espressos and more cocktails. All amazing. Then they sent us down a cute as hell wee happy anniversary dessert brownie thing. More drinkies in the bar before we headed back to our hotel. I must also commend the musicians who played a selection of jazz classics all night, absolutely amazing and all contributing to atmosphere, touch of class and luxury that is Berts Jazz Bar. I cannot recommend Berts enough, it's been our favourite restaurant but last night just put a wee maraschino cherry on it.

Todo regado con hermosa Botella de Rioja. . Comida, Ambiente y Servicio fue impresionante y sin duda cuenta con todo el respeto como uno de los MEJORES RESTAURANTES. Una visita obligada, especialmente si te alojas en THE MERCHANT HOTEL.

We had an absolutely superb dinner and in general a beautiful night with live music. What a fantastic way to celebrate my birthday! We arrived to the venue a little earlier. That gave us a chance to enjoy a cocktail at their bar. They have a vast selection, all listed in a menu that looked like a big passport. So funny! The cocktails were really good and that prepared us to have a nice meal. Both he started and the main that I ordered were exceptionally tasty. I was so satisfied that I decided not to skip dessert. And that's where the staff surprised me with the gift of a delicious bitesize brownie. Even the berries were delicious and sweet! The music was very nice and we could enjoy it perfectly as our table was the closest to the musicians. I would totally go back.

Warm and calm. Would love to have a date here lol. Being said that, it's totally fine to come here alone. You can sit at the bar or at the corners, the venue just accommodates. Had a good time.

Didn't try the food but had 2 drinks each with me and my girlfriend for our anniversary. Service was 5*. The tables were only reserved for food when we arrived at 9pm but a young lad sorted us a table nonetheless absolute legend. The music and vibes were top class. The drinks were great, about £50 for 4 drinks.

Went last night for the first time and it was just fab! We all loved it. The food was excellent and so was the service. Can’t wait to go back!

Didn’t try their food however, the drinks options were vary. The ambience were cozy, warm and romantic during the night. Sitting on a bar didn’t lessen the whole experience. If you’re someone who enjoy listening some jazz music definitely recommend Bert’s

We went to Bert’s Jazz bar last night it was amazing! Food, service and atmosphere were absolutely brilliant. Our waiter Oisin really topped off the perfect night for us! His service was top class!

This bar was truly elegant and refined. The live jazz music beautifully complemented the soothing ambiance. While the cocktails were somewhat pricey, they were delightful and not overly diluted with ice. Additionally, the staff were courteous and attentive.

A friend and I just went for drinks, we received amazing service the whole night. Cocktails are a must if you go, they have a wide range and are all carefully made. We had 3 drinks each, she had some chips as well which totalled to £90, with a service charge (no complaints as the service was immaculate). It's fully table service and staff will never leave you with an empty glass, whether it's water or alcohol. We'll definitely be back, great for a girls night out or a date night.

The place, food and entertainment was amazing. Staff were extremely nice and helpful. A staff member even noticed It was me and my partners anniversary and then brought a lovely free desert for us to share. Amazing place and will 100% be back

Easy ambience with live jazz singer on stage. Very crowded and busy when we got there, so had to linger around the bar. Having somewhere to sit would have made this experience a little more enjoyable. The "doctors orders" cocktail was strong and spicy - great to treat a cold!

I recently dined here and had a mixed experience. The French Onion Soup with brisket was the standout—rich, hearty, and flavorful, though I would have loved a little more broth to balance the dish. However, the ribeye was unfortunately quite bland, lacking the bold flavor you’d expect from such a cut. The Chicken Cordon Bleu was also underwhelming, not something I’d be eager to have again. For the price, the food didn’t quite meet expectations, and while the service was friendly, it was fairly average overall. Given the high cost, I had hoped for a more memorable meal

Como Jazz Bar esto gana todos los premios. Grandes cócteles y ambiente La comida fue golpeada y fallada. Aperitivos Fenomenales pero nuestra red estaba bien. No hay nada atractivo en su menú de postres, así que salimos (una rara ocasión) Si bien nuestro servicio comenzó muy bien, tuvimos que pedir que se quitaran las copas vacías, se sirvió nuestra red y tuvimos que esperar a nuestro vino preordenado. El servicio se sintió apresurado y en el reloj - nos encanta un rollo lento y recompensar el gran servicio en consecuencia. Me hubiera quedado para más bebidas, pero tenía un poco de sabor amargo en la falta de servicio. (El anfitrión está en su juego y 10 / 10 ). Ve por la música y no te decepcionará.

This is now my favourite place to eat in Belfast, had my second meal in there yesterday, the staff, atmosphere and food were second to none, great live music and superb cocktails make this a place not to be missed. Very highly recommended.

An oasis of elegance in Belfast. Monday night is a must do with a fabulous piano and trumpet duo. The 83 year old piano player sings just like Louis Armstrong and his rendition of 'Wonderful World' makes my ❤️ happy.

One of my most special eating experience thanks to the staff, food and entertainment. When booking for my birthday we were asked if there was an occasion for our visit and filled it accordingly. To both mine and my girlfriends surprise a cake and a special jazz song from the preforming player were given to us soon before we were planning to leave. I truly do feel like the most special guy in the world and we have both agreed we will be coming back soon!! menu: duck liver pate soup of the day minute steaks delicious!!!

Great place offering good quality food accompanied by live jazz music. Service spotless. Venue stylish and well curated. Definitely worth recommending, including the early bird menu, which is very good value. We had a great time and will definitely be back.

A real find. Superb service from the Maitre’d and the young waiter. Food was well cooked and served. The jazz guitarist was amazing. I would go to hear him anytime.

My husband and I had lunch on Sunday. Belated birthday present from our grandson and girlfriend. Food was great as was the service by Lochlan. Throughly enjoyed it, will be back.

Love it here. This was the second time as a birthday celebration and everything was great. The food is wonderful, particularly the baked Alaska dessert - AMAZING!

Best meal we had during our stay in Belfast. Food was excellent, service was fantastic, and a great atmosphere. I would highly recommend the beef bourguignon (made like a fillet of pulled beef rather than a stew). Cocktails were great too.

If you're an old soul like me, this is a must visit. Between the live jazz music, the lighting, the decorations, and the waiters clad in suit and tie, they perfectly capture the ambience of a 1920s jazz club/speakeasy. We had two frozen Irish coffees which were delectable while taking in some wonderful, relaxing jazz. A little pricey, but well worth it.

Service was attentive although slow. Food was tasty but not as hot as it could have been i think it may have been sitting on the pass longer than necessary. Nice atmosphere although we were expecting more from the jazz, this may have been because we visited on a Tuesday evening.

You're losing 1 point as the music was just slightly too loud. Made it hard to talk without needing to shout. Apart from that it was great. Steak was superb.

Had a lovely date night here enjoying decadent food and live jazz. Service was very slow in the start but picked up later on. The cocktails were really good, special mention to the doctor's choice which was our favourite. Make sure to book so you won't be disappointed!

Have been to this restaurant on a number of occasions and it simply never fails to impress. Food, service & cocktails are second to none - my favourite being the Dot Parker.

Great for a wee treat, had a bottle of wine and a few nibbles. Food reasonably priced and delicious! Wine a bit pricey but as I say, nice for a wee treat.

Atmosphere so amazing, the service we had at the bar was fantastic. If your not drinking you can ask the bar to make it virgin and my cocktail was £6! So good!

Had a lovely evening here staying later for the live music. Super attentive service, lovely food and a great atmosphere. With a bottle of wine and £10 each for the entertainment expect to pay £180 for a couple so if you're on a budget maybe it's not for you. Worth the experience. Have booked another night.

We went here for the day after valentines for dinner and drinks and was such a treat! The camembert was delicious and the charcuterie board too. We were tempted by dessert and the crème brûle was good and the baked Alaska too. The wine was on the pricey side for a glass but the whole atmosphere and decor added to the experience. Glad we went and would reccomend for a special occasion. Romantic.

10/10 every time! We have been here lots of times and all experiences have been 10/10. We visited again recently for my Fiancé’s birthday, all 5 of us (including our friends from Kent over visiting) were blown away by the meal and cocktails! The staff are excellent too

Booked a sit down meal for a party of 15 spent over a thousand pound in total and the time it took to get the food was horrendous I left after 2hrs 30m after only receiving 2 of the 3 courses ordered I I couldn't be bothered waiting any longer and went home I wouldn't ever return and I would definitely advise anyone against going.
