Ora Wine and Tapas in Belfast

We had under an hour before going to the theatre and needed to grab a quick bite. ORA is directly across from the theatre so we thought we'd give it a go. We were seated quickly and had excellent suggestions from the staff regarding the menu. We selected a selection of Tapas and drinks. Service was fast and the food delicious. The bill was a surprise as well, although not cheap the service and quality of the food was superb and if you compare other top restaurants in the area ORA I believe are in the same league. We highly recommend ORA.

My partner and I agree, one of the most fantastic dining experiences in general that we have ever had. The welcome to the very attractive surroundings was warm, attentive, and informative. Paul, who attended to us throughout much of the evening was an excellent Maitre d. Clearly he was very passionate about providing first-class customer service in a dining environment and we were both hugely impressed with him, as we were with all the staff. It is impossible to put into words adequately to tell you how wonderful the food is at Ora Wine and Tapas, and the intense pride all the staff have in presenting it to their customers. We were delighted to have our food brought out to us on a number of occasions by the main chef. You can see how proud he is of his kitchen's work. The dishes are not only a delight to eat but equally so in how they are presented to the customers in the restaurant. It is no exaggeration to say that I would actually consider flying to Belfast to eat at this restaurant as a main priority of travelling there, so good is it. I can only recommend it in the strongest possible terms to anybody who enjoys Tapas dishes cooked brilliantly with intense, wonderful flavours and presented fantastically well to you.

Ora is a real favourite of ours. Tapas style is nice and relaxed and you can pick a few dishes at a time and its served as it is ready. But the flavours are just stunning.

Fantastic place, nice atmosphere, friendly enthusiastic staff, small plates tapas style. Really delicious food and good choice of dishes. The BBQ chicken, cod fritters, cheese board, crème brûlée, mussels and scampi were all extremely tasty - great flavours beautifully seasoned and delivered at a good rate - will be back - highly recommend

Ora offers a range of upmarket tapas-style dishes. The interior and the atmosphere are very pleasant; the food and house-wine very good; the staff friendly and efficient. I would tend to think that the portions are comparatively small, and on the pricey side. That said, one does get what one pays for. Overall, a nice place to visit.

We had a simply delicious meal last night - a group of five celebrating a significant birthday. The bang bang chicken, the monkfish and the duck were the vote winners - although everything we ordered was good. Bread and butter pud with salted caramel ice cream - also amazing. Service was friendly and efficient - but low key - which I appreciate. I've never had a disappointing experience at Ora but they outdid themselves last night.

The food was absolutely brilliant. As good as you will get. The desert however was one of the worst I've had. The lemon cup..... they need to remove it immediately.

Hidden gem, easily missed, friendly staff, fantastic food, well worth a visit if you like tapas, no hard sells or pressing for time. Will be back

Been to Ora a few times now. Loved it every time. The food is amazing, and they know their wines. This evening was next level, the Red Mullet with compressed cucumber, pickled apple and ponzu was delicious.

Excellent meal and cocktails here. Smaller venue with a great atmosphere and tracklist, not too loud for normal conversation. Service was quick, food was excellent, and the cocktail list delivered. Will be returning again for sure !

The food was absolutely brilliant. Great professionalism from the chefs, we were sat directly beside the open kitchen. The staff were very kind, knowledgeable, and welcoming. Best tapas food I have had on a long time.

First time trying, food was great. Vegetarian options good but the choices I made were all quite greasy and heavy, next time hopefully I will make better choices. The meat my partner ordered seemed much more balanced. Really recommend trying this place.

Myself and friends booked a meal here to celebrate a birthday. The food was delicious. The lady who served our table was very friendly and made it such a pleasant experience. We were booked for 3pm and had an email to advise the table needed returned at 5pm, we were happy with this. Unfortunately, on the day it took our final main until 5pm to arrive. Staff asked if we would like a dessert, we said yes and they went to get a dessert menu. The lady in charge of tables then arrived to ask “can I get your bill?” We explained we were offered a dessert menu which had not yet arrived. She responded that they needed the table back and we could not get dessert, very disappointed. This was an abrupt end to an otherwise great meal.

MAGNIFICENT DINING! Food was incredible. All offerings were affordable and lovely. Hit the spot and made me smile like a Cheshire Cat. Wine selection by the glass was vast. Service was a little slow but it was Saturday night and they sat us 6 mins late to our table but who cares.

Dined at Ora on Saturday and had their Christmas menu. Very disappointed overall, we felt it was overrated and poor value for money. Our table was right beside the open plan kitchen and some steaks went on fire. The smoke alarms went off and unfortunately staff weren’t able to switch them off! The smoke alarms went on for almost 30mins and doors had to be opened to try and clear the smoke. No reduction on meal or complimentary drinks offered in lieu of chaotic environment. We appreciate things like this can happen but it could have been handled differently by management. We will never dine here again!

Superb food. Every dish was a delight. A bit pricey but that's to be expected with the quality and variety of the food.

Solo dining can either be a joy or a disaster. Thankfully, this visit to Ora was the former. Delighted to be seated at the bar counter where I could enjoy the buzz of the room and watching the team make cocktails etc. The hospitality here is excellent. The team, lead by whom I assume was the manager, were engaging, entertaining and thoroughly on top of a very busy service. I ordered my wine and then chose my food around it and asked for help to ensure the dishes would compliment and the choices and the amount of dishes recommended were spot on. Parfait, Garlic Prawns, tagliatelle Ragu all worked great with my Californian Pinot Noir. Star of the show tho was the sticky toffee bread and butter pudding. One of my best dining experiences in Belfast. Can’t wait to return.

Been here before. It was superb. This time too. Every dish was a delight. The staff were friendly and there was no delay in getting our dishes.

Just back from my wife’s bday dinner with our wee man in toe. Staff couldn’t have been more welcoming and attentive. Food was spectacular and wine recommendation was perfect. Food is really exceptional with every dish way above average. On our visit, the take of fish and chips, oysters and pork ribs were great but i’m sure they rotate and you’ll be happy with everything.

Absolutely loved eating here and definitely would be back. My one not serious critique is receiving the potatoes last, I think they'd have been better suited earlier in the meal.

Dinner in Ora before an Opera House show was amazing! The food was so fantastic especially the oysters . The staff were friendly and attentive . The atmosphere was lovely and the decor stylish.

Outstanding - possibly my new favourite restaurant. Food was amazing , the monkfish and the reece's dessert especially! Some of the tempura was maybe slightly too done for my taste but still amazing!! Also the best bramble I've ever had, bit small but the nicest for sure! Will 1000% be back. The decor is stunning and the staff were lovely.

We were lucky to get a walk-in at this wonderful wine/tapas bar. The staff were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The shared plate menu had so many appealing options. The five we chose were superb. I recommend that anyone visiting, or living in, Belfast have at least one meal here.

Great food and amazing service!

Visited courtesy of my daughter for my 60th. Fabulous food on the menu with some non written pluses. Ably explained by staff. All queries explained. Food service fairly speedy, drink service a little less so.

Came here for a birthday dinner and was really let down. Service was so poor, we understand that tapas comes out as ready, but waiting 20 mins between small plates is just ridiculous. We ended up not ordering more and just leaving hungry as it was taking so long, no one manning the bar and my glass of wine sat empty as we were never once asked if we wanted more drinks. To top it off we were given the wrong bill in the end and our waitress seemed offended when told it was not correct, considering the bill given was £100 over what it should have been I feel we had every right to speak up. Incredibly disappointed and unfortunately won’t be recommending here to anyone else.

Great wine bar and restaurant. The food was absolutely amazing - small sharing plates of Asian influenced tapas. We ordered chicken bang bang, scallops, pork belly, duck leg and dumplings. I can’t pick a favourite, everything was spot on. And the sommelier was so helpful in choosing the right wines. Full transparency, we also ordered the bread and butter pudding. This may have been our favourite.

I would not recommend. The food was basic and extremely expensive. No difference between small bites and meats dishes quantities and flavours could be vastly improved. Menu was severely limited. Pork and beef in almost every dish. Vegetarian/ vegan menu non existent. Service couldn’t be faulted. Toilet smelled like the sewage system. Feels like a rip off for what you get. Dishes should be prices cheaper. 90+ pound for two people.

Hmmm, I wanted to love this place but it just didn't quite hit the mark for me. Whilst all the dishes were of a decent standard, for the price, I wanted at least one standout dish and despite ordering a good range, I didn't quite find it. For example, alot of the dishes ordered seemed to share a very similar soy based sauce. Obviously it's an Asian inspired menu, but maybe other flavours could be considered. I'd give this place another go if the menu was rotated. On the upside, bar staff were great, especially the lady with the nose ring, very hospitable. Decor is also very understated and hip.

It's tapas with an Asian twist. Everything we got was spicey. Personally I don't think spice is synonymous with Spanish tapas.

We had a very special birthday celebration

Nice little 'Asian tapas' style place. No real signage outside, so easy to miss. Nice, muted decor. Atmosphere was more hush hush couples on a date, rather than bustling tapas bar. Open kitchen at the back where you can watch it all happening. Bar team were great, front of house server seemed a bit flustered and out of sorts. Menu was good, but I think you'd have to get some new stuff on there soon to keep it interesting. My suggestion would be to remove some of the formal seating from the front room, put some standing tables in there, get one more staff, and get more small taster plates coming out quickly.

Great addition to Belfast. If you are looking for something a little different that offers a wide variety of delicious plates, you have to try this place. To get a true taste of this place and define value for your money, it is better to book in a group of 3/4+ people, allowing the capability to try multiple of the tapas style dishes. Very accessible location right across the road from the Europa, a beautifully designed interior, delicious food and great service.

Asian twist on tapas, pretty good but pricey

A fantastic selection of tapas in a relaxed atmosphere. My favourite dishes were the bang bang chicken and padrón peppers. Staff were friendly and attentive. A very pleasant evening indeed. I’d would also recommend the crème brûlée for dessert.

We tried out this lovely tapas restaurant- starting with bang bang chicken and goats cheese balls which were delicious - also had the confit belly pork and steak which was also nice - we had a nice Malbec and a gin cocktail also lovely- this was worth the visit - we enjoyed it

Very obvious that staff don't really understand how tapas works as they struggle to keep up with orders/put extra things onto the bill/forget to bring out plates etc. Food quality was amaaaazing though.

Fabulous food, great service A-MAZ-ING

We have been to many Tapas restaurants in many countries and our experience has been that you order the dishes and they all arrive together. Tonight in Ora we ordered 3 sides dishes that were mainly veg and 3 meat dishes. 1 meat dish arrived first..followed 10 minutes later by 2 other meat dishes which were literally meat...we then had not recieved any of our other 3 dishes after 25 mins which i enquired about. Shocking. Cancelled the rest of our food. Payed for what we had eaten and left asap. Not a good experience and we are generally very patient. Will not be back

Beautiful space, wonderful service, great and interesting menu choices half of which where bland. When creating a tapas menu, each item needs to standout, only half of the 7 items we tried merited such status, to stand out in the Belfast scene that needs to be addressed.

This was my third visit & yet again the food & service was superb, cannot recommend enough, best restaurant in Belfast City centre

Amazing experience with colleagues last night whilst visiting Belfast for a conference. Karina our waitress was amazing. Great advice, recommendations, explanations and knowledge. We were so well looked after my Karina and her colleagues I would highly recommend. The dishes were wonderful and fun to share with a plethora of flavours and dishes all beautifully presented. The flow of dishes and wines was perfect. Thank you Ora and Karina for the experience. Sorry no pictures. No time wasted enjoying what they had to offer.

Went there at the weekend to help with the Mrs's birthday celebrations!. I'm not a big fan of tapas but boy did these guys change my mind!.. every course was sensational , the service was 1st class and even the general ambiance was beautiful. They even came out with a little pudding and sang happy birthday. I think we have found our new haunt! 5/5 ... the only down side is that we had to go home eventually! WE WILL BE BACK!

We've eaten in plenty of tapas restaurants in Belfast, but hands up this has been the BEST the staff brilliant as in explaining every dish and services 100% well done team, we will definitely be back 👍

Great experience end to end. The dishes, service and wine was all impeccable.

Small food portions but so delicious! The drinks are so good too, I would recommend the Ora Spritz drink, so refreshing !!!

Nondescript entrance, lovely interior though. Sister of Howard St around the corner, and it's always good. Nice tapas style food but not in a Spanish way. Chowder and lamb cassoulet were great. All 8 blokes cleared all 24 plates. V good

We had friends over from Liverpool and they were so pleased. The food, the service and the atmosphere were all fantastic. Very friendly and attentive staff. We all can't to visit the next time they come back.

Fantastic food and drink. Recommend getting 4-5 dishes (~£10-12 each). Nice decor. Very good service. Food comes as it gets ready. Food and drink for 2 comes to around £90, but worth it. Definitely Recommended.

Great Spot for some quick food and they had some fantastic cocktails!

Second time in a week it's that good. Food is amazing and the staff were so attentive, a girl called Anna was serving us and she was very friendly and accommodating. The small plates were all incredible, stuffing fritters were a favourite and the steak. Perfect place for a date night.

Beautifully prepared food, served in a lovely setting by fantastic staff. We selected a variety of dishes from across the menu (3 or 4 each) based on the waiter's recommendation, and each one was a taste sensation - king prawns and porkbelly were stand out. Despite the cacophony of flavours, our waiter was able to select a wine that complimented and cut through beautifully (and not necessarily the most expensive one on the wine list, which we appreciated). The food was a little more expensive than some places but well worth it. We're far from loaded but it is Christmas, and the bill was very reasonable considering the quality of food, wine and two cocktails. We'll definitely be back, and when we are we hope very much that our waiter, Sam, will be there - his patience with our questions, recommendations, knowledge of the dishes and all around good humour made our evening, if the food hadn't already! Great food & wine, nice ambience & lovely, professional, attentive staff.

Everything was amazing!!!! I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. The food was amazing and the service top class. The waiter explained in detail the food and how they served it. We had loads of question and he answer all with an amazing attitude. The décor was so inviting and warm and the atmosphere super relaxed. I can't wait to go back here when we get the chance. It will be one of the first restaurants I will book

Our experience was fantastic! We were met by a very friendly waitress who proved to be most attentive, perceptive to our needs and who clearly loved her job. The tapas were absolutely delicious, the cocktails.....and the wine. It made all the difference knowing we had our table for the night which meant we could take our time and totally relax. The evening was a little pricey but worth every penny. If you love 2Taps you will love this place more if you are willing to pay a little extra. The food was superb! Ora truly is a hidden gem! We look forward to booking again soon.

This place is very cool, the service is brilliant and the food is great. Atmosphere is perfect. Doesn't look like much from outside and you would probably walk by it but definitely go in.

What a feed! Took the wife for valentines day and we wanted to try everything on the menu (we weren't far off!) The menu is a mix of sharing plates and a few larger main dishes. All food comes out when it's ready so you have just got to tuck in. Food selection of wine and friend staff. We will be back!

Really good spot. We had a selection of small plates - padron peppers, rice crackers with crab, chicken caesar tacos, chorizo manchego fritters.. these were all super nice and would highly recommend. We then had confit ribs and duck, honestly could have eaten that all day. Super tasty! Recommend you go here.

Excellent food and service. A small restaurant but you won’t feel cramped as the ambience is friendly and relaxing. We visited in December so they didn’t have the Tapas menu. The fish was excellent and washed down with an excellent white wine. On my next visit I’ll make sure I have the Tapas menu and add to my review. Good location in the heart of the city. Sister restaurant Howard Street always a 5 star experience.

Delicious food, friendly and attentive service, great atmosphere. The only area for improvement would be that there was a terrible draught from the door to our table. I will definitely be back.

Good food! But expensive! Also my colleagues got their food pretty fast and I had to wait almost an hour to get mine. Which obviously isn't nice because the others are finishing their food and you have to start yours.
