Tin CafE in Hackney

Tin is just the best cafe, a true staple in Haggerston and special to so many people. Both the ladies who work there are so lovely. Great coffee, delicious sandwiches. Super dog friendly too! I don’t have a dog but love getting to pet all the ones there 🖤

What a wonderful little treasure. The lady serving is lovely and the food was amazing with very nice coffee and thoughtful service. Quirky and atmospheric.

Nice little cafe with unique Art&crafty decor, bread and coffee are really nice, the owner is very friendly, nice atmosphere.

Coffees have become a lot pricier now as with other cafes. Toasted sandwich is quite nice, though takes around 5 mins. Owner is super friendly with many returning customers. Not many seats though, would recommend as a takeaway spot.

I came across this lovely place by chance - the staff were very friendly and made me a delicious oat flat white which cost half of what most places are charging for coffee these days... I also had one of their energy balls which was pure bliss!

Unique cafe, the best in London

It's so nice to have a good coffee shop open in the early mornings. The staff members are always nice and friendly. Very efficient. Nice coffee and some pastries and snack bars. Small tables and stools inside and some chairs outside. One of the best local coffee shops I would definitely want to support.

Such a lovely little gem with a wonderful sense of community and AMAZING coffee. Moved in across the road from this place last year and I really look forward to popping in to get my morning coffee en route to the station most days. The lady who works there is very welcoming, kind and makes a real effort to remember peoples order.

Consistently tasty coffee and friendly staff !

I discovered this little cafe during the first lockdown where I was going to get a takeaway coffee then take a walk around the block before work. I wanted to support my local community and businesses. I was impressed with the quality of the coffee and I used to start my day looking forward to going there and getting a cuppa from there. However, I found staff who work there (especially the older ginger-haired lady) rather passive aggressive and irritable; she was making silly and annoying comments e.g. she couldn’t understand whether I said one sugar or two, latte or cappuccino (although I’ve been ordering the same drink every single time) just to intimidate me. I kept going for a coffee there for months in a row despite their negative attitude until I realised that staff were simply dismissive and disrespectful to me even though I was a daily customer for quite some time. I was left with the impression that I didn’t fit in their “standard clientele culture” (whatever that might be) so I returned to Costa instead where I encounter sober, clean, professional, smiley and respectful staff. Zero stars for the Tin Cafe staff. 4+ stars for their coffee.

Nice little cafe with friendly staff. Coffee is good and cakes are delicious! You can even pick up bunches of flowers and other small bits here!

I think this place was even nicer before COVID. The design of the place is an interesting one. The coffee is good, plenty of options for sandwiches and also desserts. They have vegan and vegetarian food, options with meat as well. If you want a vegan coffee, they have plant based " milk". I had a flat white with oat milk and was really good. If it wasn't for their staff, I would give them a 5 stars review. I think they could be more friendly and less moody. Just saying ;)

I have been here once and really loved the taste of my coffee and the atmosphere. The staff was extremely engaging and makes drinks with passion. The prices are standard and reasonable, although, I did not find much difference between the two sizes offered. I would have prefered a larger size for my coffee as it truly was divine. I Will definitely go again if I am in the area. Thank you so much for the friendly service.

The light shade in the middle is made of rail tracks and there are just so many things to be noticed like the bags hook underneath one of the tables. I was there for tea that afternoon and it was great sitting by the window watching people from all walks of life going past. Although it was my first visit, you could feel how popular this cafe is and the owner Tanya Carson is truly amazing because she literally knows all the people who come in or walk past.

I LOVE this place & highly recommend. I come here every morning without fail to get a coffee. I think I mainly come here for the customer service, which is 10/10. The owner really appreciates each customer and has an amazing personality. In Dalston you often find a lot of boujé cafes with snobby baristas - if you want a chilled & down to earth place, Tin Cafe is the best for this. Also, there is no charge for milk alternatives!

Best toasties in town and fun, convivial atmosphere. A proper community caff where that feels like a rare thing. Awesome coffee too. x

Superb coffee , efficient staff, and tasty sandwiches and treats as well.

Excellent coffee. Lady (could be owner?) serving has a good sense of humour and seems to really know her customers. The place has a relaxed air to it. Giving it four stars because sometimes she seems a bit stretched (too many customers for her to manage - but she does manage and she employed her lovely humour). We have a regular fortnightly appointment in the area and we are sure to grab our coffee here before/after!

I visited tincafe with my daughter in april 2019, we both loved it! The café owner is a lovely excentric lady who delivers excellent toasts with a personal touch. Her customers are all interacting with each other making this a true home away from home. We also loved the bohemian interior design with a lot of thought put into the tiniest detail. This café is truelly worth the visit, go and hang out! My daughters imidiate response when we left is ”can we go here tomorrow again” and i do agree!

Most welcoming especially on a cold morning. I love the quirky decor and cacti along the large often sun- filled windows. It’s more like relaxing at a friends house rather than a cafe or restaurant

This is my favourite local coffee shop, it's a crazy house with the best fun for a coffee and sandwiches made to order. People just keep coming back so it's almost like if you're a regular visitor, you know everyone. It used to be a dog grooming shop and there are still a few dog vibrations left, it's not flash, it's got a soul. I LOVE IT.
