Amazing vegetarian café / restaurant run by the friendly Camphill community with Chrysalis Theatre. They make great food with love. Their baked vegan Rosemary Focaccia bread is delicious and not excessively soaking in virgin olive oil. The café employs and shows compassion to neurodiverse staff, who may have learning difficulties and mental health challenges. The differently-abled café staff are friendly, kind and very helpful. We need more places like this across the country / planet earth. A must venue if you're visiting Milton Keynes.

Lovely vegetarian cafe which is staffed by support workers and residents of Camphill, who are adults with learning disabilities. As I work with adults with learning disabilities, it is great to see them working in jobs they really enjoy. There are some residents front of house, some in the kitchen and others help with the gardening and the bakery. The food is really nice, simple, fresh produce, using as much as they can from their own gardens and bakery. We had the special, which was roasted root vegetables, cooked with fresh herbs, all from their garden, on a thick slice of their own sourdough bread. There was homemade hummus and salad, too. Really simplistic, but so tasty and fresh.

Lovely and welcoming cafe in a scenic location with a tasty vegetarian menu. There are plenty of homemade cakes and bakes, as well as fresh soup and a daily main meal made with locally sourced ingredients. You can buy handmade bread there too! Prices are great and you know you are supporting a good cause.

This is a fab cafe to meet friends at, but you do need to book in advance. We did and it was great to see how many other tables were reserved. The food and service were great and everything is very reasonably priced and the proceeds go towards maintaining an amazing community. Well worth a visit and their fresh bread is lovely... Especially if you time it just right as it comes straight out of the oven 😋.

The Festive Menu 2023 beckoned a family group and we were richly rewarded! The stilton walnut & mushroom paté on sourdough was wonderfully crunchy with a rounded taste, well supported by the sourdough. The carrot roulade with the seasonal filling, accompanied by seasonal vegetables, was really satisfying and a delight to eat. The finishing touch was a wonderfully sublime lemon & white chocolate cheesecake with spiced (and locally grown) berries, all accompanied by a hot spiced non-alcoholic punch. Portions were just right too! This is a local vegetarian jewel that deserves to be fully supported.

If you need to avoid physical reaction to foods containing gluten there will not be a brilliant selection save for the lovely salads. The few gluten-free cakes are far too sweet, but. There are no meats, nor fish and fowl foods but I'm pleased to say that you may have milk in your coffee if you prefer it. My only criticism is the absence of meat on the menu. Perhaps it is too expensive, requiring more effort to comply with handling, I don't know. Nevertheless, it panders to the whims and fancies of the veggies which choose to avoid meat but not those who need to avoid gluten for strict medical reasons. Not many of these compared to the vegetarian faddies that may feel upset by the mere thought of eating meat, I suppose. On the whole, CCMK café does a good job for its staff and it's very good that some residents are employed there, too. The bakes and salads are lovely and it deserves support.

One of our favourite local lunch places - the restaurant supplies some delicious and well-prepared house specials that have never disappointed, always with fresh salads etc. that are fresh & very tasty. We also on occasion buy the bread and/or honey there. It's been clearly a success because quite recently the car park was extended to cope with the increase in customers. It is also a facility serving the local community that deserves to be supported. Worth ringing first to book a slot though - it's pretty popular!

Had high hopes for this cafe but was a bit disappointed. The restaurant was very noisy although it was pretty empty. It could just be the design of it, lots of wood etc and nothing to absorb the noise. The food was okay, the service was a bit lacking maybe as it was later in the day, not sure we would revisit unfortunately...

I've been working as a volunteer over the past few months and hadn't ventured into the café until only a couple of weeks ago. I wasn't disappointed. There's a lovely atmosphere in there, with some of the residents of the Camphill community working as waiters and waitresses. The walls are covered with artworks, some of which are for sale, an added incentive to visit might be to look at, and possibly buy, some of these artworks. The food is excellent, beautifully prepared and presented. I've had several cheese toasties and the cakes are exquisite. I shall come back on the days I'm there and definitely recommend to others to visit if they haven't already. It must be popular by the number of people that were eating their lunches when I arrived and more were coming in as I left. First rate!

This was our first visit to Camphill which is a charity for people with learning disabilities. The staff were eager to please and this made for an enjoyable experience. I hadn’t realised it was a vegan café but this is self evident from the menu and food (see comment below). I chose to have a milk shake which was disappointing as it was essentially flavoured milk; however my Victoria Sandwich cake was delicious even though the texture was a little unusual. I’m sure we will return as there was seating in the garden where we could sit with our dog but I’ll be more selective about my choices.

It's been a while since I last visited Camphill and I was very pleased to see that the food is still excellent. My friend and I visited with her blind Labrador dog this week for coffee and a chat. We both had the soup of the day, which was broccoli and almond soup with Camphill bread. The soup arrived with two different wedges of bread, both of which worked very well for dunking in the soup and mopping up leftovers without leaving any stray crumbs. The bread also came with a butter portion. As for the coffees, I had a lovely creamy latte and my friend had two cappuccinos. This cafe continues to be a top place to go for vegetarian food, just be prepared to allow more time for service than at other cafes as it is a training establishment.
