15/06/2018: From the young man in the high vis jacket assisting with parking to the manager ensuring my coat was returned to me as I left, service is of the highest standard. And the food’s not bad either! Generous portions, freshly prepared, wide choice of dishes, comprehensive wine list - and even a choice of alcohol-free beers for the designated driver.

The attentiveness is second to none and once again the food was delicious. It is certainly a wonderful place for a special night out.

Rest A While Tea Garden

Steam Bistro

Coniston and Crake Valley, South Lakeland
18/06/2018: Myself and my boyfriend went to Steam to celebrate his birthday on the 15th of June 2018. The bistro is wonderful, decorated beautifully and cosy but not small. The dining experience is very personal and the staff remember who ordered what which is always great! The food was presented beautifully and cooked perfectly with a suitable gap in between each course. The beef ragu was amazing and I would recommend that to anyone dining there! The desserts, although cake, were incredibly light. Bringing your own alcohol is such a great idea as you can bring exactly what you want to drink without being charged a fortune.
10/06/2018: Had a lovely meal on Saturday night. The restaurant interior is very cosy and welcoming. The food was tasty and I like the BYOB concept, it meant I could bring my favourite wine which I rarely see in restaurants. The only slight negative was that the service was pretty slow the night we were there. It’s clearly a very popular place and I think they just needed an extra bod. That said we still had a wonderful evening and would return in a heartbeat.

The Lighthouse Tea Room

Filey, Scarborough
06/06/2018: If you're in Filey in the afternoon I would thoroughly recommend a visit to the lighthouse tea rooms. The best value ever, a scone with jam and clotted cream and a pot of tea for under £3 in very pleasant, clean lighthouse themed surroundings . Also lovely staff and quick service ! We were offered a choice of a variety of teas or a pot of coffee ,strawberry black currant or raspberry jam and whipped or clotted cream. The scone was delicious, really soft , fluffy and fresh, and the jam came in an individual pot, which you were encouraged to take with you if any remained in the jar. The specialist jams are available to purchase, a set of three small ones or large jars. Well worth a visit!
04/06/2018: Excellent couldn’t fault this eaterie, still just as good as my last review in 2014, why go any where else in Filey head and shoulders above the rest

17/06/2018: Early morning. Fog outside. Empty streets. That was the day when I discovered the best breakfast place in Whitby. Placed in side street in the city center. Look for banner with arrow leading to this restaurant. It's really close. Small, simple designed family vibe place....

Owls Nest Tea Room Diner

The Hythe Brasserie

Hythe Central, Shepway
18/06/2018: We had the chance to experience Hythe Brasserie on a short break to Hythe and we were not disappointed. Mid week two course/three course special at a great price. The service and food were amazing - we couldn't ask for anything better. Thank you!
11/06/2018: On my third visit, but this time with my family from Panama. Nicki the owner managed to fit us in early, even though the restaurant was fully booked. Always excellent service, good food reasonably priced, and a warm welcome where nothing is too much trouble. Wished we lived nearer and it was our local!

The Town House

Arundel, Arun, 20-30£
16/06/2018: We met a local friend for dinner in Arundel at restaurant of her choosing, and what good taste she has. The whole experience was amazing. This is a small, family run restaurant with very high standards. Harry, the chef's son took very good care of us. A lovely roasted tomato soup was our starter. One of our party had a wonder pear salad. There was a great selections of wines. We all had the fillet of venison. Every bit of the dish and sides were over the top. The menu is fixed price for two or three courses, but with an upcharge for certain seafood items. I want to go back!!!
16/06/2018: So my husband and I visited this restaurant last night. We were just passing, we hadn't booked. But they willingly accommodated us. What can I was fab! We were greeted by the most welcoming, bubbly waiter. Who showed us to our seats and talked us through the menu in full. The menu was refreshingly varied, with an interesting selection. As well as being clear and upfront of the prices. A set menu of two courses £27.50 or £32.50 for three. There were supplements on top of some of the dishes such as Lobster or Surf n Turf etc. But these were very reasonable, and worth every penny! The lobster was the best I have ever tasted. My husband had the Venison, and again he said cooked to perfection. There was plenty on the menu that I hope to sample in the future. The service was the best, very personable, polite and fun. And the atmosphere pitched just right. Formal, but not stuffy dining. Lovely environment. Compliments to the chef and all of the staff. Yum...yum!
