Newport Central, Isle of Wight, <20£
09/08/2018: Introduced some of my friends to burrs and we had a great night. They had never been to burrs and they loved it we had the set menu which is such good value including wine we will be back soon as I'm addicted to the crab and spinach brûlée.
07/08/2018: Lovely small intimate restaurant, never fails to impress. Everyone is made very welcome. Menu is amazing, you will not be disappointed in what ever you chose, it is all wonderful. I have recommend to all my friends, but don't take my word for it, try it yourself. Suggest you book, as they get busy.

McHalls Bistro

Claremont, Blackpool, <20£
19/09/2018: We were in Blackpool for a meeting on the weekend of 8/9 September, but had arrived on Friday, 7th. We had a table for two at McHall's and were not disappointed. The Lamb Henry was exquisite, as were the home-made starters and ice cream.
10/09/2018: We were staying in McHalls hotel for 2 nights and booked a table for dinner on Saturday before the Funny Girls show. There were seven of us including a friend.

Old Vienna Restaurant

Wellswood, Torbay
26/08/2018: Fantastic food - chef and proprietor Werner is clearly particular about where he sources his ingredients from, and it shows. Some lovely Austrain dishes and classic cooking, mixed with some family recipes. Presentation excellent, and attentive service. Try the schnapps (taxi recommended!).
26/08/2018: Back again after 12 months ... and still exceptional in every way. Service, food and wine faultless. Do not hesitate just book early.

The Tudor Room

Thorpe, Runnymede, 60-100£
25/08/2018: Loved the food and attentive service. Great suggestions of wine by the sommelier. Knowledgeable staff. Hopefully you should be getting 2 Michelin . Well done.
24/08/2018: The Tudor Room deserves its’ star! This is a very talented chef! Super menu, food and matching wines. The staff are helpful, informative and not pretentious. Had a very enjoyable evening in a relaxed environment with superb food ( my husband and I enjoyed the bream, squab, lamb, pork and cheese). The sommelier deserves a special mention as his wine matching is innovative and very good. Would definitely go back and would highly recommend.

Umezushi

Cheetham, Manchester, >100£

The Olive Tree

Padstow, Cornwall,Isles of Scilly, 20-30£
15/08/2018: We arrived spot on 6.30 last Friday and were greeted by Flo & Kevin who presented us with a card and two glasses of bubbly! Dipping bread then the starters which were delicious : mushrooms and goats cheese. For the main we both had the shoulder of lamb with mixed veg. Yummy. Dessert was lemon cheesecake and chocolate pannacotta. Mmmmm. A most enjoyable couple of hours. Thank you.
15/08/2018: Visited for our 6th year in a row, whilst on holiday. Another fab visit- great food, freshly cooked and warm, friendly service. You need to eat here, but be warned, you will need to book, it gets busy!!

12/08/2018: Ditto definitely deserves its place as number one on trip advisor. The food was amazing, friendly staff with a relaxed atmosphere. We appreciated there only being one sitting as we didn't feel rushed at all.

The Olive Tree

Cheadle West, Staffordshire Moorlands, <20£
22/09/2018: what a find good food and staff, the way we wear treated from our phone booking to leaving was great.we wear made to feel like old friends who they wear really glad to see again.as a chef i can say the food was far better than the costing would suggest.selection of salami and "posh chips"followed by pork in a chilli sauce, meat balls with choretso, haddock gougons and aeoli, smoked hadock crocets, then a medly of "puddings"30 years as chef and one of the best meals of my life just superb .
21/09/2018: Saw this on trip advisor, when we arrived how exterior appearances deceive what the interior has, lovely welcoming owner/staff and what delicious food, we had the standard Sunday lunch, the beef was the most tender and tasty I have had in a long time. The restaurant deserves all its accolades. We look forward to returning.

The Gateway Tearooms

Moorland, Teignbridge
22/09/2018: Whilst holidaying, I decided to plan a trip across Dartmoor and checked on the internet for places I could use as post-codes for the sat-nav. One of the first I found was this remarkable little tea-room in Morton Hampstead. Stepping through the door is like a short trip back in time to the 1920s when quiet conversation was more highly regarded. I could almost see Miss Marple stepping through the door to solve a murder over a cup of tea and a scone. The menu offers a reasonable range of items from tea and cake to full meals. The staff were polite and attentive, but also discrete, and the cream tea was perfect. I will definitely be returning here again (soon I hope). One small thing…be prepared to pay in cash as I don’t think other methods of payment are available. The prices are reasonable and the whole experience was relaxing reminder of more civilized times.
22/09/2018: Thank you for making my mum's birthday celebration so enjoyable. We all had a lovely time. The food was delicious and you were a superb host. We look forward to visiting again soon. Alexys

19/09/2018: Looks like a small family fun place and it has a really Mediterranean vibe. Not a posh place but a great place indeed.

The Town House

Arundel, Arun, 20-30£
17/08/2018: Lovely menu and lots of flexibility about how to have it cooked or what accompaniments to have with it. We surfed and turfed, but the breaded monkfish cheeks and the scallops were great starters and desserts nice to. All lovely and if you book a room deal you don't have to go far. The rooms are tastefully decorated, clean and comfortable. We were in Rosemary at the front. Their website is a good representation of what to expect.
14/08/2018: Went for the second time for dinner and on both occasions we have had a superb meal, wonderful food at a reasonable price served by excellent staff in lovely surroundings. The foie gras starter is delicious as are the scallops and the chateaubriand is tender, flavoursome and huge!. A special place for special occasions.
