Ordered the focaccia bread with evoo, vinegar and trio of dips. I'm very impressed with the food it tasted delicious. The bread was fresh, warm, and lightly grilled to add a crunch. The dips were all vegan and very moreish. Food was very well priced and great value for money. The atmosphere was warm and friendly. Highly recommend!

It's IKEA...they just do everything right. Ample parking, great cafe with great value food, staff were very helpful and polite while shopping and checking out. If I had one small niggle...some signage to get over to the pick-up point would be useful, especially if it's the first time going there.

What on earth has happened to the Plockton Inn? Where have the locals gone, along with the atmosphere? Where has the affordable food and drink, and real ale gone? We’ve been coming to and staying in Plockton for decades, although our last stay was after a few years gap, and whilst a visit to the Inn was usually a highlight of our trip, once over the door it turned out to be an avoidance this time! Everything that made the place in the past has gone, even the person behind the bar felt embarrassed when he took the huge chunk of money for our drinks, and suggested the food has gone in the same direction! Hardly anyone in the place, all the atmosphere of a railway waiting room, and eye watering prices. It appears that even the locals have decanted to the excellent Plockton Hotel. Nice clean refurbishment but a huge disappointment and anticlimax! Owners, sort it out please, you’ve ruined a wonderful place!

We arrived around 4:30 and asked to be seated upstairs as my husband and son are over 6ft so the small tables downstairs are not suitable for them to sit at, additionally the dining area is dark and I have difficulty with my sight. The usual gentleman who knows us well wasn’t on shift and we were met with an older and younger women who were abrupt and very rude. We were told ‘there’s only 2 of us and we can’t be going up and downstairs’ I explained we are locals and have never had issue before and explained why we couldn’t sit downstairs. They then turned their backs on us and continued to serve ice cream to another customer. After being ignored standing with our party of 6 I asked again ‘could we sit upstairs’ she agreed but told us we had to wait until 5pm to be served as they were busy. Thankfully 5 o’clock came and we were served by the usual gentleman who is absolutely brilliant and friendly. He made us feel welcome whereas the women made us extremely uncomfortable and to be honest discriminated against. My husband can’t help that he doesn’t fit into the small tables downstairs stairs and I shouldn’t have to explain my sight issues with the dark dining area. Additionally 1 person in our party is of larger stature and wouldn’t fit in the small booths and our son is Autistic so the quite space is better. I wouldn’t normally leave a bad review but staff should not question it when a customer asks to be seated in another area of a small restaurant. And making us feel uncomfortable about these issues is disrespectful and discriminatory. Other than that the food was lovely and my sons birthday dinner was rescued but the amazing male server who goes above and beyond. A true credit to the place.

Hotel itself is lovely. Basic but good enough. Happy to stay here again. Room big enough for two. The Bar is lovely and the beer garden , especially if it’s a dry and sunny day. Unfortunately, the restaurant was a disappointment. Booked for dinner due to some lovely reviews. Wasn’t expecting much but the food are overpriced. Soup for £10? Skipped the starter and ordered Venison casserole. Waited for an hour for our meal. Yes, an hour! It wasn’t a busy evening, so not sure what taking them ages. Waiting staff are lovely though. Food arrived an hour later, and just looked like a total mess. Presentation was just very sloppy. Looked liked everything was just thrown into the plate in a rush. Sides of seasonal vegs were overcooked, all of them. Potato gratin looked and tasted awful. Tried a bit of the venison meat but just can’t pass the fact that they’re charging £22 for a mediocre main that looked awful and tasted like a watered down stew. Didn’t really eat it and waited for my other half to finish his meal which he enjoyed. Told the waiting staff about the issue and they only took the drinks off from the total costs which was really petty. If you’re gonna charge a £22 pound main, at least make it presentable and eatable. For the future guests, do your self a favour and drive to Braemar, the flying stag at the Fife Arms does a fantastic pub grub with similar price of food, or go to Blairgowrie. Certainly won’t be eating in their restaurant again.

We ordered Paninis and Cajun Chicken Quesadilla, which were very delicious. The portion and price were acceptable for a tourist area. The business was very good, and we had to wait for 10-15 minutes. There was a toilet inside, but it was only for guests.
