Cobbs Cafe in Highland

My wife & I each ordered a panini. Panini’s are usually toasted under a grill so quite crisp on the outside. These were both very soggy like they’d been done in a microwave. They weren’t bad to eat, just not a panini like you’d expect. But the worst aspect of these was the included ‘salad’. A spoonful of diced lettuce and half a sliced tomato does not constitute a salad. And the included crisps were mean in the extreme. Being below the soggy paninis meant they were all stuck to it as well. My latte was actually quite nice but my wife’s tea was made with a real budget tea bag that ended up producing just a pot full of dirty water. All-in-all, a very disappointing lunch not worth the £25 it cost us. We’ll go elsewhere next time we are in Fort Augustus.

The cafe wasn't too far away from our self catering lodge. Very glad I chose to come here for a couple of breakfast rolls to takeaway. They were delicious with plenty fillings. I highly recommend.

The place is really nice and cozy, the food is good the atmosphere is great and the staff is amazing I had a beef burger & my friend a vegan burger, both of them were great and the service was really fast which was important cuz we were on a tour and time was limited I totally recommend the place

Stopped here for a Sunday breakfast before taking a boat up Loch ness. Had great food, it sorted me out until dinner and was very reasonable. The coffee is excellent, so much so that I got another one to take on the boat! Friendly staff, I'll be back for breakfast again 👍

This place is very upsetting. Today i witnessed a physical fight between an obviously half pickled female staff member and a customer. I dont know why but nothing warranted this woman attacking a customer. Then a spanish waiter intervened.! Unfortunatley,fawlty towers was funny,this was downright upsetting and I would advise anyone to stay away from this place.

Couldn't believe the kitchen closed for paninis at 3p.m. No explanation, information delivered abruptly.

I am not alone in saying the customer service here is disgraceful. Barked at when I asked for some extra milk with the teas and coffees. A face like a wet week when I asked for four different slices of cake. Eyes up to heaven when my credit card did not work first time. A member of the cleaning staff told an elderly gentleman to get glasses when he entered the toilet without seeing the “cleaning in progress” sign which was not clearly displayed in the first place. I regulary visit Scotland for a holiday & love Fort Agustus, being a nice day I saw this cafe & thought I will get myself & family a snack. I queued at till, 1st lady asked what I wanted I told her one item then she looked confused, 2nd lady came along said we just need to finish the last customer's food is still on till. The 2nd lady then took my order 1 cheese scone, 2 x 1 scoop icecreams, 1 x icecream in a tub, 1 scoop & 1 x coffee. I paid & went to icecream bit. A 3rd lady served the icecream, I said 1 vegan icecream in tub & 2 x 1 scoop raspberry ripple. She said no you only paid for 1, I said no worries I will go pay for another so went to queue again to pay for another icecream, paid another £3, but was not given another icecream. After the manager shouting at me for quite some time (not sure why she needed to shout?) What she said was she had given 1 icecream 2 scoops and although the menu said extra scopp £1.20 because I had asked at the service point it then became £3 (although I had not) So 1 icecream cost me £6 Looking at the other reviews it seams the manager at Cobbs is very rude & clearly charges what ever she wants at the time

I went with my family to get an ice cream and while we were queuing my sister went to use the toilet but the manager shouted at her that she couldn't use the facilities and told that she was not a customer despite the fact that at that moment I was literally paying at the till. She felt ridiculed. I cannot help but wonder if it was racially motivated as we were the only non-whites in the place. All in all a ver unpleasant experience.

Went in the cafe for a snack and had to wait 5 minutes before taking order for 5 people then only received 4 items and queried this ti be told we are wrong and that we needed to pay extra for another ice cream and then said she had already given this to us which we gave the money and recieved nothing!! When asking for the manager she replied I'm the manager you have everything and then she started shouting at customers to shut a door. I have worked in hospitality for over 30 years and her attitude towards customers was not pleasant

We visited Cobbs cafe today in Fort Augusts and ordered two pannins to have outside by the canal. We were given a number plaque and our food was delivered. Outside we were sat on a table that belonged to the adjacent The Lock Inn. To be fair the majority of our food was ordered from there and only had the pannins from Cobbs. A little while later someone calling herself the manager from Cobbs started rudely telling us that we could not have her food in the table that belonged to other establishment. We said told her that she was rude and it was our choice where we had our food. Her staff delivering the food did not inform us of any such rule nor was there any board directing us that way. She now became vocally abusive towards our family and started using the f word in front of our kids. We had raise her our voice literally ask her to get out of our space. She threatened to call the police and we asked her to do so. As we were in the right. Please stay away from this abusive cafe if you can

Lovely location by the canal, however, it was slightly overpriced for the quality. Muffins were dry, only got given 2 plates for 4 cakes. Some of the staff were quite rude, and seemed unable to hide that they weren’t very happy to be there.

Best coffee in Fort Augustus, good food and staff are so friendly. Seating inside and out so covers every weather eventuality. Went there a couple of times during my stay this time and will certainly go back.

Cobbs won't win too many awards for ambience and decor but it's pleasant enough, staff are helpful and friendly and the breakfast good value.

Popped in a couple of times whilst on holiday in Fort Augustus. Really nice breakfasts and coffee. Spoilt our dog with sausages - she’d happily go in every morning with the wonderful friendly staff.
