Very pleasant pub close to the bus and car park. Two Isle of Skye beers on handpull, in very good condition

Standard pub fare with good friendly service.

Good beer with a nice welcome for all.

Everything about the place ticks all of the boxes for an overpriced tourist trap. One could not know the prices beforehand, and it's a place where you have to wait to be seated and only then do you get a menu and know the prices which sure enough are expensive for pub grub. I ordered a meal with which I chose Mash - of which there was almost no more than a garnish - this was for £18. The staff though were friendly and welcoming - but on a selective basis.

Great food. Ate twice when I was in town. Usually a wait for dinner, but you can always have a pint and wait by the bar.

There are no restaurant reservations, so you just have to wait and go in. It's cramped, but it seems like a place with lots of people and delicious food. The potatoes were really delicious

Ticks almost all the boxes as a pub but the fact that you can't have food if you want to sit in the bar area (except for a saucer of chips) rules it out for me :(

Great place for good pub food and local beer.

Unfortunately a big downgrade from 2022 to 2024. Stayed here in March 2022 and back then this would have been an easy 5 out of 5 for the food (had multiple breakfasts and dinners here) and the rooms were good as well. I returned twice after this and compared to my first stay the food quality and portion size has gone down considerably and from what I could see room prices went up as well. Made some good memories here but won't return. #sadface

Having arrived late on Friday with so many places closing earlier than what we are used to we were in need of a decent meal. They were very accommodating given there was five of us. The food was excellent, very tasty and good portions we went for the fish and chips and chicken option. Given how busy they were the staff were very attentive. Nothing fancy but a pleasant experience.

We had eaten at the Pub a year earlier and had a lovely time. At that visit, we dined on vegetarian fish and chips—delicious. The service was so lovely and friendly. Extremely friendly. Eager to have another vegetarian fish and chips dinner, we stopped in to the Pub this year. It has changed ownership. Sadly, the people were rude to us. The doors were standing wide open . It was 5 MINUTES before dinner service and we were hatefully told to leave. We asked if we could wait since it was a mere 5 minutes. The answer was a forceful NO. Before leaving, we asked if the vegetarian fish and chips was still on offer. The new owner this time stepped up and very snappily said NO. We do not serve fish and chips at all. Her time was very haughty and dripping with disgust. We expressed our regret at this news. I couldn’t resist saying, in that case, we wouldn’t be returning. We were very sad that a lovely traditional pub, with such friendly, welcoming staff has been destroyed. Also, I miss the yummy vegetarian fish and chips. 😢

I've never seen people be so professional and 'on it' considering the staffing levels. Whoever oversees the operation do yourself a favour and employ a couple of extra staff. It would ensure that your existing team aren't wrought out. The staff you have are incredible and working really hard to make each group feel special. The food was incredible too. Just maybe whoever owns it pop your head in.

Casual pub in Portree. Food was good, the beer selection was fine, and the live music added to our enjoyment. Recommend to go here.

We enjoyed our room upstairs and our dinners in the pub. Great food, very friendly staff, and you can't beat the location.

Absolute dump. Smells like an old folks home and has the atmosphere of a tramps funeral. Staff are rude and aggressive. Eye watering prices. Full of tourists. Better going to the other pub up the street where the locals drink. Avoid.

Called in for a pub dinner which was very enjoyable. The pub doesn't take reservations but we only had to wait about 15 minutes for our table. We enjoyed a drink while waiting. Good, quality Scottish food. Small number of tables, quite close together but it added to the ambiance. Lovely, friendly staff. Another good Scottish experience.

Food is okay, personnell not interested in giving you any form of friendly service. Better to go only for drinks

Quite a long wait for a table as they don’t accept reservations. Menu good and varied. Portion sizes looked good until our vegan option arrived. Very small dish and felt very overcharged and underwhelmed by the dish even though it tasted ok. Vegan chocolate cake desert was good though.

We enjoyed a nice pub with live music in a special place like Skye. Unfortunately we could not dine since it does not admit previous reservations. Gluten free beer.

Good address in Portree! Classic pub with good fish and chips and haggis. Good local beers on the menu too.

Very expensive hotel in value for money! It smells like grease on the stairs - the rooms are very small with the bare minimum - the breakfast is nothing more - the restaurant is doing better

Visited the restaurant on a busy afternoon and did not have to wait too much until we were seated. The atmosphere was the usual loudy pub one. Waiting time for the main was a little bit too much. Food was ok, but nothing special. We did not try it, but Fish & Chips seemed to be a very popular dish around us.

Don't bother with this. Barely any food for the price. Bad service, they rush you out as soon as your done eating. Go somewhere else don't bother with this place!

Not alot of food for the amount of money. Service was not that good. As soon as your done eating you get the bill without asking basically shoving you out of the door. Take my advice, go somewhere else.

Food took 45m to an hour to prepare. Didn't get alot of food for the price. Tiny amount of Fries with a basic burger worth 10 pounds at most. Not the 17pounds. Service was not that great either. Would not recommend. Frozen pizza beats this in price and quantity. Edit this from 2 star to 1. As soon as our plate's were picked up we got the bill 1minute after. Not welcoming at all. Avoid this place as there are nicer establishments around.

Food was pretty bad, nice atmosphere

The sign claiming "Your food is made fresh every order" is misleading. Our visit was a major disappointment. The service was poor, and the food was far from fresh  so don't lie... We visited the town today, sadly we didn't notice all the nicer places to eat and ended up here. For £16.95, I expected a quality burger, sadly this was not the case. The burger patty was super dry, frozen cheap crap for sure. There was a horrible sauce in the burger but the cherry on top of the pile of dog poo was the the fact the bun was frozen! Frozen and then toasted, it was super hard and tough on the edges and still really cold in the middle. Served with the cheapest of cheap frozen chips that were undercooked and mushy. The haggis tower tasted like a microwave meal, with the sauce being the only redeeming quality. Honestly, shame on you as an establishment to serve such a horrible burger at such a price. The burgers at Blackpool promenade are fresher and tastier than what you serve. A Rustler burger is better and fresher than what you serve. I'm sad to have visited here, please sort your mess out, it's not much to ask for to be served actual fresh food and by fresh we mean NOT FROZEN. I mean forzen burger buns, really? Maybe watch some episodes of Gordan Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares and learn what fresh means or take your sign off the wall.

EXCELLENT ADVERTISING We went there 3 times during our stay in Portree because the atmosphere is excellent. It's the best pub in the city, with entertainment, concerts, good beer and which also has a restaurant, for reasonable prices for the city.

Adapted gluten-free menu, the celiac in the family was able to eat a burger and potatoes made separately and it was very good. Very friendly and well priced. Oh, and they don't close the kitchen at midday. We ate almost at 4:00 p.m.

Un beau pub écossais qui fait aussi restaurant local. Se présenter bien avant 18h30 pour pouvoir manger avant 21h. Pas de réservation. Juste votre nom note par ordre d’arrivée et attente dans le bar. Nous avons bien mangé et bien bu. Le personnel était très sympa.

4 star hotel? Only in price. I’m sorry but I can only describe this place as a dump. It starts with the check in at the bar. There is no reception, only the bartender. The 10 rooms are above the bar. You get to them from behind the bar, then up a very narrow winding staircase. If you are elderly or remotely disabled, stay away. There are no amenities other than a teapot in the room. There are no plugs for charging. We had to take the plug out for a lamp. A few plastic cups. The mattress was worn and the linens decades old. The shower was a portable round thing with too small an opening of about 14 inches. I doubt even an average sized person can comfortably use it. Our tour left at 8 am, we couldn’t even score coffee and a bun for breakfast, which was strictly 8-9 am. Not a 4 star hotel by any stretch of the imagination. Go Elsewhere!

Typical and affordable food, nice setting

We had lunch, 2 fish and chips, 2 glasses of wine, two pints of lager. Rushed, faster than a fast food joint! As soon as we had almost finished eating we were presented with the bill without asking for it, we ordered another round. We were presented with the bill immediately, this is very bad hosting. Came across as greedy. Fish was okay, the chips were not the best. £16.75.

We found this place by chance on our walk through Portree and decided to go in and have a beer, and take the opportunity to have something to eat. The truth is that we loved it, a typical Scottish pub with delicious homemade food. We ordered the venison burger which was spectacular, they also had a delicious celery soup of the day. The only thing is that they don't accept reservations and you have to arrive and sign up on a list and they will call you, but there is nothing like waiting with a good beer.

Es uno de los restaurantes de Portree en los que no reservas, pero en lugar de hacerte guardar colas de hora y media, te apuntan y te dicen, aproximadamente, cuanto vas a tener que esperar. A nosotros nos dijeron 1:30h y no llegó a una hora, en la cual fuimos a otro bar a tomar algo. El servicio es muy ágil y sin lugar a sobremesa pero no por ello menos profesional. Los camareros muy amables y la comida en general rica. Pedimos una ensalada de queso que eran tres bolitas de queso sobre una salsa de remolacha que pintaba el plato, pero en lo demas acertamos 😅

We arrived around dinnertime on a saturday. The place was packed but despite this, we were seated in less than 5 minutes. The service was friendly and attentive. The food was very good and we didn't have to wait long. I had the tower of haggis and a venison burger (daily special) both of which were tasty. The side of carrots with honey is also highly recommended. Worth a visit if you can get a table.

The food was amazing, but the service was awful… the old lady just said we needed to stand no matter we were not finished with our drinks. Disgusting her attitude.

Awful service. I wasn’t even done with my drink and they asked me to stand up so I had to finish my beer next to the exit. Only when I complained they understood their mistake. I decided to use their WiFi to post this. AWFUL SERVICE AND BEHAVIOR.

The rating refers only to the restaurant: The Isles Inn is located directly at the small bus station in Portree. It is a beautiful and typical mixture of Scottish pub and restaurant. Very friendly people, good beers and a large selection of whisky round off the typical and delicious cuisine. Like many others that day, I opted for fish and chips - a great choice.

Nice "gastro pub", open all day, unfortunately prices are a bit ambitious (whiskey is about 1/3 more expensive than in other pubs in Portree)

La salle est petite et les horaires ...écossais. Ne vous pointez pas à 21h ! NB : plusieurs restau de Portree ne prennent pas les réservations. 1er arrivé, 1er servi. Je ne sais pas pour le Isles Inn. Service rapide pour nous (nous voisins ont attendu au moins 30 minutes pour 2 coupes de glace en dessert). Bonne cuisine de pub. Cf Fish and chips avec sa purée de petits pois; un burger au gibier avec une très bonne sauce. 44 livres avec 2 pintes, rien à dire. Conseil : même en semaine, soyez y avant 18h30 pour avoir une table

Excellent relaxing break during your visit to the island. We found this pub with a family atmosphere, typical Scottish, by chance. Excellent beer and good fried food

We are here for the games and Portree is heaving. We had a long wait but was really worth it. Food was delicious. 👏 👏 Staff where great.

Nice traditional pub, food food and good ale.

No reservations required, which is how we ended up here. Food was fabulous and satisfied our achy bodies after hiking all day in the rain. And it was all reasonably priced. Sad that we discovered this place on our last night there. Would visit again!

Food was worth the wait. I had the steak and ale pie which was fantastic and also dairy free (even the mashed potatoes!). Mom had the chicken. Both of us were sad to eat the last bite. Finished it off with the vegan chocolate torte which was also incredible.

After a long drive I found it was Closed 1pm on a Saturday Afternoon.

From what it says on the Tururut menu. The smoked salmon dish had 4 salad leaves to decorate the dish and half an egg. I ordered the salmon gluten free which is on the menu and then they told me that the bread came separately. A tease. I don't recommend it to you.

Great place for a couple of drinks and a very reasonably priced meal. Great atmosphere too.

Ci siamo stati per due sere di fila durante la nostra permanenza a Skye. Abbiamo atteso un pochino perché il paese è piccolino ed è il principale dell’isola, ma nell’attesa ci siamo bevuti una buonissima Skye Red. La qualità del cibo ci è piaciuta, ottimo fish & chips e hamburger; la seconda sera lo speciale del giorno prevedeva hamburger di cervo e devo dire che era veramente buono. Buona anche la torta Vegana al cioccolato. Consigliato…soprattutto la Skye red!

We had a starter of smoked salmon which we shared between 2, as well as the specialties of venison burger and slow-cooked brisket (24 hours). The dishes are generous and tasty, we enjoyed ourselves. Small downside, it is not possible to reserve a table in advance, it is only possible to put yourself on a waiting list if the restaurant is full.

We really enjoyed our stay at The Isles lnn. We stayed in a double room on the 3rd floor and loved the view out the bay window to the street and beautiful scenery! Staff were friendly and the food downstairs at the pub was great!

We only had dinner. Waited an hour for a table for 4. Can't fault them, too many people at Portree in the summer. Fish and chips were good, but the chicken, though tasty, the portion is so small it doesn't justify the price. Service is good even though they are so busy

A really quaint restaurant that is worth visiting

You cannot book the restaurant. We saw the queue on our arrival at Portree and thought this place must be good also we looked at reviews. Our second night in Portree we got to the pub at 530 to make sure we got a table It was great to have a beer while we waited unfortunately our meals were not great 2 of the 3 pies were dry and inedible. The chicken was dry too. Management were very kind and gave us 1 meal free which was very nice and not expected. Try somewhere else.

The food is awesome, I want to dive in a pool of sweet potato soup. And the staff is great. Also dog friendly 🥰

Friendly people, tasty food and affordable

During our stay in April 2024, we visited this place several times. Whether for a beer (or two or three) after a hike or for dinner, the ambiance is cozy, and the service is friendly and fast. The food always tasted great to us.

You had to wait in line for a long time to get a seat at a table. The food is not tasty. I got poisoned.

Great pub! Great restaurant and they were very kind and helpful! Quick even though the restaurant was full after 10 minutes they gave us a seat for the two of us. Excellent beers and truly delicious dishes!

We came here to watch a Euro Cup match and stayed for dinner. To eat we had to sign up on a waiting list. Previously, the waitress who ordered us informed us that the wait would be an hour so, in the meantime, we enjoyed a local beer while watching the game with the rest of the customers in a quite pleasant atmosphere. I don't give it 5 Stars because the dinner was just fine, but the atmosphere, kindness and friendliness of the staff made our experience very pleasant and I definitely recommend it if you pass through Portree.

It's 5.30pm, and they have run out of one of the 5 menu items already!!!!. When I asked to swap the potatoes for chips, they declined. The food is overpriced anyway. Oh, and the barman was passive-aggressive. It seems they can be rude as they have a busy and captive market. They really aren't doing much for Scottish hospitality. Very poor service and attitude.

We ate there, the fish and chips were okay but not earth-shattering, but the steak was ordered medium rare and brought well done. That tasted really bad, very disappointing. No recommendation at these prices

We only went here to eat. Tasty food for an affordable price. Smooth service and the nice thing is that there is a dining area on the left and you can easily have a beer or something else on the right side of the building before or after your dinner. Because of the crowds you could be put on a waiting list, so we drank a beer beforehand so that we could eat at a table after 45 minutes, which was more than worth the waiting time. And with the European Football Championship on television, a bond was created with the other waiting guests.

The smell of fish when u enter was terrible ,the bar staff look at you and don't bother serving you till there good and ready there were 4 of them behind bar when we were there and no one been served they were just chatting away but the worse thing was the toilets they were horrid u'd need waders going in and a peg ,staff needed to clean them not stand around chatting

We only went to the restaurant to eat and had a great time. The service that evening was the joy of life personified and put a smile on everyone's face! The food was also delicious. The main courses were normal size. Two starters (haggis and mussels) did not replace the main meal. The burger was great. We would come here again.

Lively pub with live music 3 days a week. We were passing by and heard Star of the County Down being played and had to stop for few pints.

Cozy pub with good food, you cannot make reservations for the restaurant here, they start with the restaurant, if there is room then you can wait at the table, otherwise wait until a table is available, we have eaten here in the past and again now, it was neatly provided and tasty and who really dares to have a haggis tower as a statter

Service while very friendly is pathetic - from the guy behind the bar to the waiting staff. Dining area is tiny and packed so tight. A pub that can't get something as simple as chips right. Save your money and dine elsewhere.

A friend recommend this pub for a pint and a bite to eat, I was not disappointed. Friendly staff, great service and superb food. They also had starters & mains for vegans.

We did not stay here, but are in the restaurant. The food is very good. Some of the best fish n chips I’ve had on our 8 days in Scotland so far.
