If you like confusion at the bar, woken up with room service for another room, dogs barking late at night in adjacent rooms and then alarms going off at 0230, it's great. Complain to reception and nothing can be done. Not for me and NEVER AGAIN!

A far away refugee from this busy life. A place to enjoy and relax just you and your beloved ones. I love there big comfortable rooms, with there restaurant and the delicious food they offer. The cozy swimming pool makes an extra activity for my kids. A place Much recommended and advised. Can't wait to visit again.

Room is okay, some mold in the bathroom. Door has peeling paint. Biggest issue was with the restaurant. Ordered a margherita pizza. When the food finally came out after forever (way too long for how slow the restaurant was) the server brought what was clearly a simple cheese pizza- not even close to what the menu description said for the margherita "with fresh basil." When I asked where the basil was, the server brought out a bowl of arugula lettuce. When I said, "this isn't basil, it's arugula, and this isn't a margherita pizza, it's a cheese pizza," the waiter just shrugged and said "I'm new" and walked away. Absolutely nothing was done to correct the error and not even an apology was given. When another member of my party mentioned the problem again, the server clearly started to get pissed off and again shrugged and walked away. Worst customer service ever. You can't just get someone's order completely and obviously wrong, pretend it's correct by calling it a "margherita" and hand them arugula when they ask for the "basil" they were supposed to get, and then get mad at them when they complain. We're not stupid- of course we're going to notice. Absolutely pathetic and terrible experience- what a joke.

The hotel is in a good location, close to main motorway links. The hotel itself is huge, spread across 3 floors, quite easy to get lost, as the corridors branch of in various directions. The upper floors aren't mobility friendly, as you have to walk up & down stairs to access some of the rooms. Staff were all really nice, friendly & helpful. Excellent customer service 👏 Sadly the hotel could do with some TLC; the rooms look tired & dated. Carpet had some big stains on them👎🏼, the shower was good 👍🏽, rooms were a good size 👌🏼

A 3 night stay. The room is good with plenty of space in it. Dressing table & chair, 24" tv. Kettle with complimentary tea & coffee. Iron & ironing board. Comfy bed and good choice of pillows. The shower room has complimentary liquid soaps and a well controlled shower with enough pressure, though it's let down by the sealant around it, which needs replaced. Breakfast is good, and there are plenty of choices. The evening dining menu is ok with prices typical for a hotel The food is good quality. A leisure gymn is available and was inclusive but untried.

A up and down sort of experience here. Rooms are ok but do look dated. Bathrooms are more modern but have a crazy shower design which means the shower tray fills up fast then just starts to spill out onto the floor which isn’t a wet room. Our friends one started flowing out into the hall. Ideally located for trips into town centre or for visiting gigs/football at Hampden. Uber is your friend getting here but normally too far out to get one in East Kilbride. I’d suggest you call Mo’s Taxis! Breakfast is great but service is criminal. When a coffee machine drip tray is overflowing and spilling hot to mild warm water onto a an area with plenty footfall and y YOU have to take action to clean it up rather than staff then you’ve some issues. Hard to find a lot of smiles here, maybe one or 2 max in the staff. Plenty wrinkles in the night staffs shirt though… 😬 Would I stay again? For a night yeah, any longer nah.

I give you advice for God's sake, the hotel is very bad in all aspects. It does not serve the same people, it is not a hotel like the people, nothing, and even the refrigerator is not in the room + rattling sounds everywhere + the hotel needs renovation again. My wife and I just stayed at this Holiday Inn! My first time in one but my wife has stayed in many when on business! The purpose of the visit was Business/Family visit from Thursday to Sunday! We were very impressed with the room, spacious and everything you needed! The Staff were super friendly, the food was excellent and everywhere clean and tidy! In addition we were thanked for staying and given extra drinks vouchers, this attention to detail and generosity is something that sticks in your mind when we plan our next trip to Scotland. Well done to all the staff, you done yourselves proud!! Haste Ye Back.

We booked to celebrate new year's eve, there was a group of 9, the rooms were all good but we had a 9 year old in the group so we told we had to use the breakfast room and not the ballroom,ok we accepted this but at 23.50 hrs we were told the bar would be closing for 10mims then it would reopen, that was a blatant lie they did not open we were told we would have to pay for room service already our new year was spoilt, the food they served that evening was rubbish which we paid £60a head for this a total rip off, we complained on the evening but to avail we all travelled a great distance for this but were totally disappointed x Regards Mrs Bernadette Brogan

Stayed overnight for business. Nothing bad to say about the place. Service was good and the room was quite nice and a good size. The gym/pool facilities are excellent and it's open nice and early -6.30- which can often be a problem with hotel gyms! Food was also a good standard and there is a nice bar area.

Stayed while up on business. Quickly welcomed at reception and given cards to our rooms, mine being 218. Room itself was good, very comfy beds & lots of room but a bit worse for wear in places. Carpet was stained in areas and the bathroom floor, near the bath had a lot of mold. Also later found the bathplug is broke it drains constantly. Had room service as we arrived late which was okay, nothing special. Visited the leisure centre in the morning which was all very nice and well maintained. Had a great nights sleep & breakfast was okay aswell. Overall, an enjoyable stay!

We've stayed here a fair few times and always found it to be a great stay, good clean rooms, lovely team and lovely bar and lounge area. BUT, since staying here with children in tow it made us realise how great it truly is!! The team were all just fantastic, so welcoming and really made the girls feel special. Nothing was too much trouble and the girls loved seeking out "the lovely ladies" Breakfast options are great too... always our hotel option when we are near Glasgow.

Party of 10 and food was very mixed all costing around £14. Beef and chicken burgers were nice and were substantial. Quorn burger was a joke, it was tiny in comparison and you can get a pack of 4 for £2. Steak sandwich was meant to be bloomer bread but was a thin sandwich using a standard loaf. Macaroni cheese was inedible as they appeared to have forgotten to add cheese as it just tasted creamy, not cheesey but person didn’t want to complain or ask for something else, probably because it took almost an hour to arrive and some of us had to get back to work. Also took ages to get the bill and pay. 2 people wanted to pay by card but they have no facility for part of the bill to be paid in cash and the rest by card. One person had to therefore pay the full bill by card and get the money from the rest of the party.

This is a tired hotel. From the car park which would make the Port Stanly airport runway look good to a smelly leaking pond running into the car park. The sir conditioning in the heath centre is not working as I’ve been told that it is usually not working! The staff are staff try their best but the management don’t listen. Not recommended

The best part of the hotel were the staff, they were very lovely and helpful. The hotel itself was clean and modern, I found the rooms spacious but the bed wasn't so comfy (if a premier in bed I 10/10, this bed was just scrapping a 5/10) Also the food in the restaurant was awful and we had to complain, it was over priced (but you kind of expect that in these places) but the quality and portion size of everything was awful, other than the pizza which was pretty nice actually! There is a nice size pool and a gym you can use for free which was a great bonus and it's dog friendly. We drove and it was only 10 mins from South side of Glasgow so that was handy for us. Would stay again if there was a really cheap deal on, otherwise I'd book a premier Inn.

Quite a bad and unpleasant experience… I wish we would read the reviews before we booked this hotel. The reception staff is very unfriendly (even didn’t say “Hello” when we arrived… Looks like they are struggle with their work and don’t really want to be there . They put us in the room with no fridge and broken air conditioning and heater… So we had to go to reception again and ask to change it . The room wasn’t clean by a housekeeping team even we left a “clean my room” card :/ The swimming pool is disgusting and needs some repair . The steam room is plastic with plastic seats, so it wasn’t enjoyable at all !!! The restaurant is an absolute nightmare… The food was awful and the waitress brought a dirty glass with someone’s lipstick in there… Wouldn’t recommend at all !!!

If I could give this spa a 0 star rating I would. Showed up to the spa and all staff were clueless. Had to pay an extra fee of £60 as it was a weekend booking. We were told we weren’t going to receive any towels for the pool and sauna, and apparently they “tell you that over the phone” but this was never mentioned. The older lady at the spa was rude and had a horrible attitude. She demanded we give her the codes for our voucher, which we had already provided over the phone the night before. The members of staff waited until we were half way through our treatments to decide they needed to see the vouchers as they ‘forgot to ask at the start’, before admitting that the women who took the voucher codes the night before, forgot to even write them down. This meant we were unable to access our codes again as they were expired, and were being told we couldn’t continue on with our treatments. Massage and facial were rubbish and the room was freezing. The pool was DISGUSTING there was a toenail on the floor and the changing rooms where moldy. The younger staff member was great and was trying to help us, however the older lady was unhelpful and rude about the whole situation - even though it was all down to their own incompetency. The whole situation was a disaster, if you want a relaxing spa day, stay home and run yourself a bath. Disgraceful service.

Very lovely hotel. Rooms are nice and spacious with enough loving space for my partner and I. The gym and pool are an excellent perk at the hotel. There is a steam room, sauna and large pool which was surprisingly nice and warm. Next time I will opt for a balcony as I think that would be lovely to enjoy the nice weather without having to leave the hotel. The only reason I didn't give 5* is that I felt the welcoming staff could have been a little bit more inviting. I was stood at the front desk for a good couple of minutes without being seen or spoken to when I was inquiring about something. Over all I would love to go back to stay. In addition there are plenty of shops, nice places to go for walks and lots of food places available close by if you didn't want to go to the restaurant at the hotel

Very little effort on the part of too few individuals was made to satisfy our hospitality needs . The first room we were given was unacceptable due to a large liquid stain of unknown provenance on our duvet and a similar one at the base of one of the curtains. I took pictures in case they would be needed. We were then moved to a far away wing and kindly given a different room. We appreciated this however every night upon returning late from our pallative nursing duties our key wouldnt work and this meant a long trip back to reception to have it reactivated. EVERY NIGHT FOR 8 NIGHTS. Also rarely was our room cleaned and towels replenished, and even when we specifically requested, it hadnt been done upon our return. We kindly spoke to the acting supervisor who graciously intervened making the final couple of days more acceptable. We didnt come looking for trouble and we certainly don't want to make trouble for potentially understaffed/underpayed/overworked persons as can often be the case, however, without feedback how would we know in which areas we need to improve?

First room appeared dirty and tired the heating wouldn’t work either, moved to another room which was better however no sugar/milk for tea or coffee and mugs again dirty. Noise during the night from the adjoining rooms and the heating/water system kept us awake. A relaxing evening turned out to be not so. Thank goodness for the door chain as member of staff tried to enter the room at 8am. Emailed general manager over a week ago and not even an acknowledgment. Disappointing!!

Not impressed as stayed here recently with my child and husband and 2 rather large dogs were permitted to roam around, continually come up and sniff me, sit on seats (bad if you have allergies) and just generally do what they liked. No staff told their owners to keep them in check. My son is wary of animals and felt very frightened by the dogs. We didn’t know that dogs are 1, allowed in the rooms (we wouldn’t have stayed if we had known thar) and that 2. Dogs would run around in the public areas of the hotel whilst we were eating. Their owners weren’t even eating, just lounging around in the sears while their pets ran loose scaring my son.

Visited the hotel spa. Wouldn’t recommend. It was the worst spa experience I’ve had to date. Three of us booked a deal for 2 x 25 minute treatments and either use of the pool, jacuzzi and sauna, or lunch. We opted for the pool. We got use of the jacuzzi for 5 minutes before they closed it and dismantled it. Couldn’t get hear the sauna because it was so busy. Completely pointless. The facilities are poor. We weren’t told when booking that you need £1 for the lockers. None of us had change given we’re in a pandemic and mostly everything is cashless. Asked the reception for £1 and they would only help us if we gave them ‘something of value such as a car key’. Exchanging the keys to a £25k car to be handed back one of those trolly tokens with a smiley face on it isn’t exactly equal, is it? The worst part of the visit was the £100 parking fine that two of us received in the post today. This despite parking in the hotel carpark and providing our registration numbers at the reception on arrival. In addition to the fine, I also incurred a charge from my lease company as a result. Two of us had to phone the hotel and it took about an hour for each of us to resolve this today. We were disconnected several times and it took several attempts to get through to someone at reception. The parking is clearly a known issue given that the response was ‘happens all the time’. The 25 minute massage was not even close to worth the stress of having to deal with this today. If you’re looking for spa, go somewhere else.

Called a steak and Grill restaurant..only one steak on the menu. My steak meal came ..no tomato or mushroom just steak n chips of which both were cold..sent it back ..Still returned cold. We asked for a burger without cheese ..it came with cheese ..sent it back another burger came out 20 mins later..meanwhile our guests had eaten theirs. Not a good experience.. the chef should be embarrassed sending out a cold steak n chips costing £22.00 The manager should be aware of what should be on the plate prior to the customer receiving their order. Overall not a pleasant experience hence no rating.

We had a lovely 2 night stay whilst family were staying in the hotel. The staff were all really friendly. The breakfast was good. However this review would have been 4 starts. To understand my reasons, my daughter has severe disabilities and whilst putting her to bed she can be vocal part of her condition and the person in next room complained about the noise. Hence a visit from night porter I advised putting daughter to bed and she has disabilities. So in 6.30 in morning the complainant saw fit bang bedroom door shut. I mentioned this to reception on check out and they did apologise.

Tired and worn.Expensive. £102 for a double room for one person. . Rooms were clean. Bathroom spotless . Hot water out of the shower was SO HOT..dangerously so. Painted wooden wardrobes with handles missing. Telephone not working forcing a journey down to reception to book a taxi. Breakfast was average . Tiny little glasses for fruit juice .About the size of egg cups.White bread only for toasting. Staff friendly. TV screen small. Many competitors do it much better.

Met a friend who was staying at this hotel and received a fine for parking in their carpark for 10 minutes. Not very welcoming from a hotel chain. I'll avoid!

Standard rooms. We had 4 rooms and all had issues with cleanliness. Locks on toilet doors broken and the carpets looked manky. Breakfast was horrible. Hair on the eggs on the hot plate, zero care in terms of keeping veggies and meats separate. Small choice of cereals and nothing seemed fresh. Check in staff were pleasant enough. Restaurant staff didn’t seem to care about our requirements or the fact hairs were in the food. Overall not as good as Premier Inn, Parklands or any other hotel locally available.

Booked in for a spa day with my daughter for her birthday. Got to reception , not the best customer experience, went into the changing rooms and it was freezing , didn’t want to go any further, as it was so cold . Got into the pool area and this was a nice area, got a heat in the sauna , but didn’t use the pool as this was cold too, went to get massage, the girls were lovely but my back neck and shoulder massage was poor and felt like it was an effort to do, no support for feet or head and nothing offered. After massage we went for lunch in the main bar area of the hotel , no one came to show how to order so went to bar and told to order via barcode , all good but the food was awful , dry , tasted weird and when I told the server who came to collect the plates she didn’t do anything about my complaint, just walked away , used the toilets and they were disgusting 🤢 damp marks all over the walls , no tissue in any the toilets, went to reception to let them know , this was also dismissed. I will not be back , this was the worst experience and it was supposed to be a birthday gift for my daughter!!

My wife brought me a spa package which consists of a back massage, facial and to use the wellness facilities, for roughly £45. Great price but I was recommended by the receptionist to have the treatments done first so I did. I just wanted to relax as most people do, the masseuse was lovely but she didn't stop talking, there was no relaxing music either. The back massage was so light it didn't benefit me at all after asking for a firm massage. The facial was ok but as the lady finished I said I was looking forward to using the spa facilities to which she said there isn't any point as the cremes will come off. That makes sense but being advised by the receptionist to do it this way really put me out. I was looking forward to using the steam room the most, so I did and relaxed! All the cremes did come off my face but the steam room was more satisfying so wasn't too fussed. The wellness facilities are very old and the ceiling above the shallow end of the pool had numerous holes. I hear it's under new management and no card payments are accepted, only cash - strange during a pandemic. I will not be returning as I feel it was a waist of money and my time.

I do not normally write review but after being wronged by this hotel I felt the need to write a message of warning for people on here; Their third party parking system ParkingEye is a complete rip off. We registered our numberplate as required upon arrival, and apparently the reception did not put this through or put the wrong details through. A few weeks after our trip we received the unpleasant surprise of a 100 pound parking fine, after which we immediately called the hotel to correct it. - This had been done, but apparently too late as ParkingEye also contacted EuropCar, by which we were charged 40 pounds of administration cost 3 months after our stay, all due to this abysmal service by this dreadful hotel. Avoid at all cost. P.S. We were also put into a non-smoking room smelling like cigarette smoke upon arrival with windows open. [EDIT 27-09-2021] I find it incredibly amusing that the East-Kilbride Holiday Inn has decided to respond with 'The issues raised will be addressed'. Nonsense, it is very clear that if it would be the case, they would have contacted or replied to me directly instead of writing this as a comment in a review. Don't be fooled, they have done absolutely nothing to help me but point their finger at ParkingEye and Europcar. Whereas they themselves are solely to blame for the incurred fine: money down the drain by their mistake. I will restate, avoid this establishment at all costs.

Horrible, horrible stay - just avoid it at any cost! Our room was smelling cigarettes as if someone just spent two days straight smoking in it. It was not clean at all, we add to change room with no help to go up and down with all luggage because of their mistake. We called to book a spot at the sauna and they told us there was no need to do so in advance, result, when we arrived, all places at the sauna were taken - what a service. They were so lazy they did not register our car plate number into their system, while we have noted down our number on the registration form. As a result, we are fighting with the Inn, the parking agency, and the car rental to cover all costs of the fake fine and the extra administration costs taken by all stakeholders. A nightmare!

Stayed here on our journey from South to North and it was the best experience during the trip. We were a company of two families: 4 adults, 5 children, 2 dogs. The rooms were large enough, the stuff is friendly, breakfast tasty and better than any other hotels we were staying.

In a word shocking. From the “cherry picker” working for a straight 5 hours parked literally 5m from my bedroom window unitil complained and asked reception to cease at 18.30 i think it may of continued until dusk that was Monday. Dog barking in room 21 at 22.30 Monday night complained to reception. Noise stopped. Major noise from above from room 114 staff had to attend 3 times after i complained but found no noise! Asked them to come into my room to hear, they declined Tuesday and Wednesday. Wednesday early evening dog going crazy in room 21 again, owners were not contactable via their phone and were nowhere to be gound !. Factor in dog hairs in my room, i have never been so happy to leave a hotel, i have videoed the noise of the dog barking and sent it to my company who are not impressed, neither was i. AVOID.

I have been working away for my company now for 10 months solid travelling from hotel to hotel all holiday inns under the IHG chain - I always stay in one's roughly in the same price range as the Holiday Inn, East Kilbride. I was thrilled to know that after 7 months I would be returning to this hotel. the staff are always very friendly and very helpful when it comes to my business needs. They sign for and takes excellent care of the many deliveries I have. Despite lockdown they still managed to generate a good service and will provide housekeeping if required for long periods of stay either every 4 days are upon the guests request. Everytime I stay it is for In-Excess of at least one month and is definitely my favourite hotel so far. I also got a parking ticket by mistake due to a clerical error the moment I bought this to their attention it was corrected immediately and apologies made despite it not being their fault. I have and would highly recommend this hotel to friends, family and colleagues.

Went to Costa coffee in East Kilbride shopping centre today wow the worst Costa I’ve been in the place was filthy food all over the floor also the unit where the sugar was so dirty and stained..we ordered two pigs in blankets toasties absolutely shocking they were nothing compared to the picture on the screen a disgrace the sausage rolls were even worse without doubt the worst Costa coffee shop I’ve ever been and one I won’t ever go back to very very disappointed…
