The Peacock and Ivy in South Lanarkshire

Jalapeño peppers were nice, buttermilk chicken burger was dry and just plain. Came with tiniest portion of coleslaw and no garlic mayo as advertised. My partner had the Chilli bowl which was nice. Not worth the money in my opinion won’t rush back

Excellent meal, Great service, Great prices

A bit quiet tonight for dinner but what a surprise, worthy note was the service from Briony, made up for the lack of atmosphere being quiet. Wings were lovely, hot sauce that was actually hot! Prices ok but they also offer BOGOF for the Peacock meals so well worth it. All in all, I'll be back for another dinner.

Most beers off. A beautifully well mannered Great Dane had its own dishes beside seated diners. Not the dog's fault.

I've been using the Peacock & Ivy regularly and have never had a bad meal. On Sunday I was there with my partner and didn't even need to ask for menus or a drink. Sophie remembered us and came over with menus and remembered we'd be wanting a bottle of wine. Mary served brought us our food and again was pleased to see us back. Such personal service - thanks ladies. Look forward to our next visit

Excellent service and even better food. Portions slightly smaller than expected/hoped but nevertheless the taste and price more than makes up for it. Would definitely come back and highly recommend it.

Visited the Peacock and ivy for the 1st time yesterday with a friend and we were not disappointed. We were made to feel welcome the minute we stepped through the door. We ordered our food from the set lunch menu and it was well presented tasty, hot and generous portions. The al a carte menu also looked great with large selection. The bar staff were very attentive and friendly. Also last but not least the cocktails were amazing with a great selection. Will certainly visit again . Would highly recommend.

I was so disappointed at my visit to The peacock and the ivy. I read the reviews before going and they were generally positive however myself, my mother and my sister sadly did not get that experience. We ordered three meals .. steak pie, scampi and lasagne and basically only the lasagne was ok. The steak pie was cold however the vegetables were piping hot .. returned to staff and the replaced with new warmer steak (not piping) the scampi and chips should have been called chips and scampi as I got about 7 pieces of scampi .. they both seemed over fried to me. I ate the scampi as I was hungry and left the chips. Onto drinks my French martini was far too sweet fir me but I drank it as you do .. my mum had a Baileys and when she got to the bottom there was something there that shouldn’t have been there. Told the member if staff who took the glass and came back and said it looked like piece of steak pie.. would we like another baileys. We said yes. We were charged for the Baileys so I assume they thought we added the steak pie to the Baileys ourselves 🙄. The member of staff clearing the table asked if we enjoyed the meal and I said yeah it was fine. They picked up on my tone and said it doesn’t sound like it was so I said things were over fried and not ideal. Was still charged for everything even though almost two full plates went back. I am writing this as I was disappointed I hadn’t been in this establishment since it reopened and thought let a go give it a go. Unfortunately I don’t think I would go back.

my wife and I chose to have a meal and a few drinks here judging by lovely pics on Facebook , we booked a table and were promptly seated which was excellent , Mary was serving all the tables and nothing was too much trouble for her , Unfortunately the Bigot Brothers match was on earlier in the day and the bar area was full of young lads on the beer and columbian marching powder , we ordered Tempura King Prawns and Chicken Pakora for starter and was stunning , And for Mains I had the enchilladas from the specials board and my wife had steak pie which was great and couldn't fault it ! But the Lads were getting more and more boistrous and seemed to be getting egged on by members of the LBGT community sitting at the bar until at the back entrance next to us a young guy came in and started to throw punches and a full scale punch up broke out ! My wife was terrified and a table of ladies next to us all got up and tried to move out the way but it was over in minutes , with the triumphant bearded fighter escorted back into the bar like a conquering hero ?? Surely he should have been asked to leave also ? he is obviously a regular and seems to do what he likes ? We Quickly paid our bill Mary was kind enough to give us a discount and apologised but we wont be back , shame because the food was excellent

Lovely modern pub serving great food

Great service from the team and lovely welcome. Was just in waiting for my car to be sorted so popped in for lunch. Food was lovely and 2 courses for a £10 was great value. Mac and cheese was delicious.

£6.25 for dry burnt chicken tenders, service was poor we waited a really long time and others seemed to have been served before us. Definitely not the quality or standard of the tap room 😪

The food was really nice, both starters were of good proportion and both very tasty. Mains as good as the starters, both plates really tasty and as described on the menu - absolutely no issues with the food. But - it was 35/40 minutes after our starter plates were taken away before the mains appeared, were they busy, I would say 4 or 5 tables max ! Whether it was the more drinks ploy I don’t know, certainly a waitress popped over and said our mains won’t be too much longer, and are you OK for drinks? I hope not, you’re better than this. Anyway, let’s try your Friday steak night in a few weeks again in a few weeks time..

Had lunch and drinks with my partner and mother in law today for my birthday. Mary and the staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was lovely and fairly priced. Will definitely be back.

Very disappointed with the meals we had delivered, burgers were nothing special, Katsu banana with ice creme was 1 banana, small tub of sauce and about 1 tablespoon of ice cream. Definatly not worth the £45 spent on it. Never again will we use the Peacock and Ivy.

I went in today and the staff was amazing. The food was first class as always. The staff new everyone by their first name and made a huge effort with everyone that went in .I absolutely love this pub and definitely will be back very soon.

A lovely lunch, with very friendly service, very tasty food, nice pleasant and lovely and clean . The guys at j&s directed us there whilst we waited for a motorcycle helmet service., Much appreciated.

What a lunch , lasagne was perfect , hand cuts are class and garlic bread was sick , prawn tempura starter and side salad is the bomb , felt like I needed a crane to get me off my seat the portions are that good highly highly recommend. Chef is the star of the show.

This is a very friendly establishment. The staff is so nice and friendly toward new comers. Food was good, with a nice selection of daily specials. If I am ever back in Hamilton I will return.

Drink prices on a par with Glasgow but place is a wee bit pretentious not a lot of atmosphere at all.

I had my mums funeral tea at the Peacock and Ivy. The service was second to none and the food was excellent the staff was very friendly and polite. I will definitely visit again. Iwould highly recommend a visit

Absolutely lovely wee place, food was fantastic, we both had steak ciabatta and loved every mouthful 😋 so tasty, staff so friendly and helpful. We will definitely recommend to anybody and will certainly visit again next time we're through this way!!

The food is fantastic, the staff are so friendly & helpful. It was our first visit to the Peacock and Ivy and will certainly not be our last. We both had the steak ciabatta and it was the best I've had, the mustard sauce was beautiful and the steak cooked perfectly. I'm originally from southside of Glasgow. Moved to East kilbride few year ago.. One of my mukkas works there and invited to come and a got to say was not a let down. All the staff were so friendly and a good laugh.. had a good time... thanks to steph and the team for making it a good night..this is my regular spot from now on👊🏽

Friendly staff, live music, not too noisy

Called up yesterday as I needed a caterer for my son's first birthday party. The owner Brian helped out right away at such short notice. Fantastic service as usual

My wee grandaughter Olivia had her school travelling Ted and had to take him somewhere... She chose to bring him to the Peacock and Ivy for dinner... She always loved going here for dinner... This time no exception... Lovely new manager... Mary made us feel most welcome... Suggested chicken curry which is my favourite anyway... Their chunky chips are to die for... Siobhan the cook was lovely and chatty and food was excellent... Olivia had the chicken nuggets and her fave ice-cream with chocolate sauce... Mary suggested that Ted had a photo with the peacock which he did... We had a great time and I'm going back in an hour to have more of their delicious fayre.... Watch this space... Than you Mary and staff for making our night....

Great food and lovely atmosphere

Hit and Miss here, nice cocktail, good drinks offers. Food was below average, if they hadn’t been half price I would have sent mine back. Steak pie had a strange after taste, pastry was over done too, chips were nice but I wasn’t expecting skinny fries. Friends quesadilla was better. Some good offers, but chose your food wisely. Staff were friendly and it was clean and tidy.

Back today for lunch, and did not disappoint, went for the qesadillas today, delicious, black pudding starter, also served for us was the soup of the day, steak pie and macaroni, fresh, hot and so tasty, compliments to the chef. The service is outstanding, so attentive and friendly, my new go to place for a nice lunch and friendly atmosphere, keep doing what you do, it's working a treat, thank you for the lovely food and service. 😁

Went for a catch up and lunch with friends. Had black pudding fritters and steak pie from the 50% off lunch menu. Friends had the creamy veg soup, breaded mushrooms, scampi and we all really enjoyed the food and the service was excellent. Would definitely recommend and we will be back again soon.

Drove by here many times though we try it long story short probably won't be back. Visited with my husband staff we're very friendly and chatty, unfortunately the toilets could have doing with a bit if a revamp. Very high prices for drinks and food and the food was below par, very bland. All in all for the money we spent you can get a better experience and nicer setting elsewhere.

Great food, great staff and great prices

Normally visit here quite a lot but the past two times we have been in the food hasn't been as good, smaller portion sizes and more expensive. We were charged extra because we wanted handcut chips whereas normally we get a choice if we want Fries or Handcuts. Doubtful we will return.

Throughly enjoyed the food and staff were excellent

We have came here a few times this year and have always enjoyed ourselves especially the food, but our recent visit we noticed a huge reduction in the portion sizes. Normally you get a lovely large fish and chips etc, this time round the fish was half the size and we counted 8 chips on my plate. Service was great a usual just a bit disappointed plate sizes.

Enjoyed a wee early evening dinner at one of our favourite places. My lasagne was so tasty and although am not a big French fries fan, they were fresh and crispy and wiped out. Got the 2 for 1 cocktails and my favourite was the passion fruit it was delicious. I'm told the scampi and chips were good as well. Overall a lovely meal. Recommend.

Reasonably priced food good service

We booked a table for tonight 30/08/21 and we got there to find the whole place closed , this was very disappointing to say the least, we never got a call to say they would be closed which in my opinion is very rude . If we did the same by not turning up for our booking I'm sure they wouldn't be pleased about that. Needless to say we will not be coming back to the Peacock &Ivy and I definitely wouldn't recommend it.

Visited tonight 20/6/21 at 6pm place was quiet , ordered food nearly 45 min wait for starters . Then a further 40 mins for mains . The food was nice and the girl that dealt with us was lovely. There was only 2 young girls working but seemed to be only one doing majority of the work

Just had an amazing lunch at the Peacock and Ivy lounge 😍. I felt really safe and well looked after by the staff. I had some yummy pakora and a monstrous burger that was so good I had to finish! I will defo be back...

Drinks visit and had a great time here. Cocktail tree is fantastic value and looks amazing. The boy and girl who were working were very chatty and good banter also. Hope to see you guys again soon.

Definitely one if the most Covid safe pubs around. All the tables were separated by screens. We ordered the 8 tier cocktail tree with a mixture of 4 different cocktails. Staff were very welcoming with good banter. Would definitely recommend.

With the ivy added, mmmm..miss the old pub.

The food menu was extremely limited on the day . I would not recommend getting any of the burgers as the only come plain ,you have to buy the cheese and bacon separately. The bun was extremely dry. Ie over toasted . However the hand cut chips were on point . The place is under staffed and had to wait 20 minutes for the only cocktail menu after pestering the staff on 3 occasions . After eating our subpar dinner my partner asked for the dessert menu .the staff said that they dont have one .however on the website it advertised it has . Overall one star for the poor standard of food, the extremely poor service. My partner and I are very disappointed.
