Your average ikea like the rest. Nice easy location to get to. Shop was clean and well presented. I only gave the 4/5 stars as I asked the location of an item from a staff member and I just didn't feel they really cared to go that extra mile to help.

I bought furniture with my boyfriend, they postponed the delivery several times, and then even the next time they didn't bother to set another date, we had to call all the time and find out how we had given up on the furniture and now we can't get our money back, this store is the worstfraud and extortion of money and some kind of mockery, they should be dealt with by some inspections

It's IKEA, IKEA is IKEA. Not at all happy to queue for 20 minutes and the guy to shut the till so had to rejoin another already long queue - a zero for customer care but it's pretty much what I expect at IKEA. Furniture is variously cheap and not cheap and poor to OK quality. If you're not careful you will spend more than you wanted to and probably leave with stuff you didn't really want but it has it's convenience when you need something at short notice.

By all means, this does not apply to the staff in the Edinburgh IKEA store who always have been a great support. I just don’t know how to voice my disappointment and anger to the customer service of the IKEA brand so I thought the only option was to write a review on Google for other customers to know … and be aware ! Few months ago my partner and I got some mattresses from IKEA that didn’t fit and upon returning them, we have been given a voucher. Before accepting the voucher, I asked the IKEA agent if I could use this voucher anywhere in Europe and I have been told a firm yes, the gift vouchers are working in any IKEA store, anywhere in Europe and without any deadline. I have been to Germany with my partner last week to pick up our camper van and we went to IKEA over-there, at the cashier the lady didn’t accept our gift voucher and we had to pay with our credit card. Now we have 230 GBP left on this voucher card and we will not need it anymore. Also we are now in a very difficult financial situation as we didn’t plan to pay so much money in IKEA as we had the voucher to it with. I talked on the Live Chat with an agent that said “you should have read the Terms and Conditions, it clearly says that Germany doesn’t accept vouchers” how on earth I am supposed to read the terms and conditions when I have been told clear and loud that I can use the voucher ANYWHERE in Europe ? This is totally unacceptable ! IKEA could simply reimburse us (we have kept the receipt as proof of payment) and ask us to give the voucher card back ! Easy, settled ! But no, they don’t care, they just want to make money, no customer service at all. No empathy. Nothing. I’m utterly disgusted by the way they handled our case.

Well it is what it is, mainly a furniture, homeware shop and for that it's OK with a no frills service attitude. For me however it's all about the meatballs. As a treat for enjoying the mind numbing shopping chore, I alway treat myself to a meal. Meatballs chips gravy and peas for me is the best option. On this occasion they were a little mean with the peas and lingonberries. Also recommended is the daim bar cake and cheesecake

Went to buy some furniture on Sunday, and it was 5/5, staff were friendly and helpful, checkout and delivery booking was smooth, food was great. However the delivery that's supposed to happen today (Tuesday) didn't, and upon calling the customer service the only reason I get is because of some delays. Gave me vouchers worth of the delivery fee (£29) as compensation. But my schedule is heavily impacted, as my flat is unfurnished and I need all the furniture to set up all rooms. 1/5 for the delivery. So averaged, 3/5.

Ikea, what can you say. It’s a pretty amazing store set over two levels with a lift to get to the first floor. The top level is all about the home with everything from beds to office furniture. Unfortunately for us the experience with Ikea in Edinburgh was not the best. We bought a kitchen, £2,400 for the furniture alone, and there were so many mistakes. Oversized furniture, double pieces, damaged pieces. They assured us that some furniture would be slow in arriving due to customization, only to arrive even before the rest and with standard dimensions. The person who followed us had retired in the meantime, so no one knew anything about it. Luckily the fitter in charge came to meet us and saved the situation. Obviously the times have lengthened, from the expected 15 days we have reached 4 weeks for assembly. Never again Ikea for certain things.

A truly terrible delivery experience. “Delivery to a room of your choice” didn’t happen. The drivers were rude and disinterested; they shrugged when I asked about this. They simply dumped a huge flat pack wardrobe in my living room. It cost me the thick end of an afternoon to shift all the packages up a challenging flight of stairs - including having to pay someone to help. I was on hold for a total of 35 minutes in a 45 minute call with IKEA trying to get it sorted. A refund of the £40 delivery fee doesn’t even touch the sides. Terrible. Avoid.

Update: in for a burger this evening and the quality is back up to where it used to be, thank goodness! Thank you Green King! I will be back regularly now. And the service was fantastic! Sadly this place has gone downhill fast. The food used to be good and I used to come here fairly regularly as I am local, but no more. I ate here about a month ago and the hamburger was the worst I have ever had. I came here again last night and thought I'd try something different, so I ordered the chicken burger, and it was the worst I have ever had. Felt like I just threw my money away on crap. Everything now appears to be frozen and precooked like you'd buy at a cash and carry. Low quality, bland and overcooked. The only thing going for this place anymore is the beer, craft ales and a fairly nice atmosphere. Otherwise, there are far better options in the area for food.

Skybar review 1 year ago today we got married at the sky bar and it has taken me this long to think of the words I want to use to describe our day. The initial planning / communication was mostly great leading up to the day. The day seemed to run smoothly apart from a few minor issues such as the wrong wine on the table, some decorations missing / in the wrong place despite writing down in detail what was to go where and when, the vegetarian meal looked and tasted COMPLETELY different (and much less tasty) than when we had it at our trial but nothing we thought too much into. It wasn’t until the following morning as we were getting ready to leave the hotel and head home that an issue arose, we had planned a lovely relaxing day with our children enjoying our first day as a married couple but that was spoiled when we realised our legal paperwork wasn’t where it was supposed to be, or rather where the staff had told us it was. We searched high and low in the hotel room, and with only us entering the room it should have been there. Upon further investigation from the hotel staff they informed us that cleaning staff had been in our room (when they had no reason to do so) after our legal paper work had been taken up to our room and it was explained to us that they “must have binned it” binned an envelope and bag that was sitting on a chair? No where near a bin? I highly doubt it. Upon further inspection when we got home we also realised our personalised, engraved ring box and our hand fasting ties from our ceremony were missing too! So a member of the cleaning staff had decided it was acceptable to enter our room because and take our belongings, very important ones and sentimental ones too! Our first day as a married couple was so stressful and really put a dampener on our wedding day which should have been one of the best days of our lives. Thankfully our celebrant and the registry office were both so helpful with organising new legal paperwork and having it all signed, but everyone had to go out of their way, rearrange plans etc to get it signed again on time! And what did we get from the hotel? A measly apology and a £500 refund like that was supposed to fix things. Our wedding, like most, cost us an absolute fortune. It should have been a perfect, well organised day, but staff couldn’t even get the smallest of details right. Our food at the end was supposed to be saved for the following day too, but nope the staff who looked like they couldn’t care less, binned it all. We looked past these small issues at the time but when you sit back a think of everything that went wrong on that day it has really upset us. There was also no follow up on how the staff were dealt with and if they had ever gotten to the bottom of where our belongings were. If we could go back and change things we definitely would not have had our wedding at the SKYbar.

Amazing team!!!!! (Tracy/Chelsea and Alisha). They made our dinner perfect with our family. Without the team it would have been an average evening. Their service and customer care was amazing. Thank you sooooooo much!!!!

A tiny cafe. It was later moved to Diagon Alley, its current location. The original cafe is closed due to fire. Butterbeer is not very good. The butterbeer at WB tour London was better.
