Large IKEA store in Edinburgh. X2 large Café on ground and first floor. Huge free parking. Store is also accessible by all walks of life including disabled people. Lifts are available for all floors. Plenty of food choice in café all day long. Multiple self checkouts. Kids playing area. Nicely clean washrooms.

Went to IKEA cafe for the first time. Unbelievable waiting times to get served. Waited approx 30 mins to get served cold fish and chips! Will not be going again.

My IKEA experience was not as I remembered it it was ok but not as good as it used to be very expensive and the food was not great

7pm Tuesday evening. 1 check out open and only 4 self service checkouts. 1 person covering customer service and click and collect. Disappointed with the service offering.

Went there looking for couple bits for new house had breakfast cafe really good

We have made 2 orders and payed 45£ for an express delivery and in both times they were not delivered!! The first time they told us they don’t know what the problem was 😨 and the second time they lied about knocking the door and that no-one was there although I stayed home all day long waiting for the delivery!!!! Our stuff are all over the place waiting for the wardrobes!!! DISAPPOINTING and WORST experience EVER!!!

IKEA!!! Thinking Star Trek 2, wrath of Khan!!! So don’t get me wrong love the plant balls and mash… so cheep and good!!! The furniture, just simple and pragmatic… things just work for what you need… … like Kirk and Khan got no story without the other Sometimes it does feel like a struggle in IKEA… oh the long path they got you to trod to get that one spoon you needed but picked up 15 other items along the way… all while trying to keep your kids from ramming other folks just right at the knees with those cute carts… add a tad of breaking please??? Some how can get near half the speed of light on those things. The flag helps in last ditch effort to stop…Ohhhh especially on the weekend … just rushing about, and your like never again! But then you get home and think oh that piece I saw would go nice here and there in your room…. And shipping is just too much… and you know it will all just fit into your Aygo… on your kids lap… or on top… expecially since you add that roof rack. Thus the saga continues…. lol other wise, actually like IKEA for the practical and reasonably priced goods… the store give you great ideas on how you can organize your space much better… why keep going back, but better in small chunks…enjoyed the ABBA tribute band they had once playing in the cafe.

Available EV charger was great, ate drank and shopped, all good.

Had to go to the pick up point. Was told it was 2 minutes away and we could go with our cart. We were almost hit by 2 cars it was pouring rain and it took us 15 minutes to get there!!!!! 2 staff members told us to take the cart with us as it’s close, they should have suggest to leave the cart @IKEA, go to the pick up point and simply come back. WOW!!!!

Ikea being Ikea. Large showroom with plenty if options and worth buying things for home/office. It also has a massive car park.

It's an IKEA; what do you expect? Furniture now hugely overpriced for the quality compared to 20 years ago, but since they've put nearly everyone else out of business, what choice do you have?

Customer service very helpful. We had breakfast but it wasn't great. OK but has been better previous visits.

Absolutely awful service when trying to get a wardrobe delivered to my new address. You would think that a £40 delivery fee would have you treated like a king but to my surprise, after the original delivery date being a week from purchase, they rearranged for a week later without any explanation. This date was the 2nd of February between 7am and 7pm. I waited in my home this entire 12 hour period and it never came (I was not given the promised 4-hour slot). I called the next morning for an explanation, an apology and a swift delivery but was given none of these things- the earliest they would deliver was the 10th of Feb. I asked for a full refund and, in true IKEA fashion, I have to wait a week for that too. I’ll be finding somewhere else to put my clothes!!

Fantastic Swedish restaurant, probably the busiest one in Edinburgh. After eating, IKEA allows you to buy furniture and home accessories which is rather unusual for a restaurant. A very unusual yet innovative approach.😉😂

They wrote 3 times that they would be with the delivery and I lost 3 days because they didn't arrive, tragedy.

I want to share our amazing experience at IKEA thanks to Janice in the Bed section. She was incredible in helping us with our large and complex order, going out of her way to accommodate our needs. When some items weren’t available for delivery, she made sure we were added to a special list and kept everything on track. What truly impressed us was her dedication - despite being close to the end of her shift, she took the time to help us patiently and thoroughly. Janice made the entire process so much smoother and completely took the stress out of the situation. We’re incredibly grateful for her outstanding service and brilliant attitude. Aga from the Wardrobe section was also great - thank you both for making our experience so positive!

¡Cena de ganga y familia de 4 por menos de 10 libras! Los adultos tenían albóndigas (plato del día @ £ 3 cada uno), que era un tamaño de porción decente de 8 albóndigas y lados. Las ofertas de comida para niños eran pasta y pescado con papas fritas, que también incluían fruta y jugo. Definitivamente volveremos. La comida era preciosa.

Great place for shopping but the area you sit at by the hot dogs is absolutely disgusting,im assuming they dont clean it throughout the day because i genuinely felt sick sitting there

New kitchen. Appalling aftercare by Callum in Ikea kitchens Edinburgh Straiton. When I had issued around parts being wrong/missing/faulty, he was slow to reply (weeks!) or just completely ignored emails. Didn't care. "Customer services" were just as bad, no reply to formal complaint. After 4 weeks I escalated to Ikea CEO who arranged some compensation. Shockingly bad service, dreadful experience.

What can you say about it? Affordable prices, friendly staff.... Edit: Tried Swedish hotdog with mash and was great, but the chips that come with the meals are way undercooked, nearly raw.

Went to ikea today was very dissapointing any thing i looked for they did not have there was no staff to get anyhelp walked round the whole store noone to be seen shelfs half empty .Only good thing was the cafe 🙂

IKEA Edinburgh is a fantastic store with a wide range of affordable, stylish furniture and home essentials. The layout is well-organized, and the staff are always helpful. However, I do wish it was a bit closer to the city center, as getting there can be a bit of a trek, especially without a car. That said, it's worth the trip for the quality and variety they offer. Just be prepared for the distance!

IKEA is IKEA anywhere. Don't go with the wife on a weekend as it is hell and you will fall out

Huge shop you could easily get lost in it

Today I visited IKEA in Edinburgh, and I have to say – it was the worst shopping experience ever! The customer service was absolutely terrible – no interest in helping, unprofessional, and completely unbothered by customer needs. When I asked for assistance in finding a product, I was met with a shrug and a vague gesture towards a general area, rather than any real help. The checkout process was a nightmare – long queues, disorganized staff, and an overall sense of frustration in the air. I felt like I was inconveniencing the staff just by being there. The whole visit was exhausting and has completely put me off coming back. Compared to the IKEA in Glasgow, this was like night and day. Glasgow’s store feels organized, friendly, and efficient – a completely different experience. I will never return to the Edinburgh store. What a disappointment!

Always something new to see at IKEA especially when only getting there every 6 months or so. Love filling my head with ideas which IKEA are so good in creating with every nook and cranny in this store.

I really like this IKEA. It’s very spacious and has everything you need to decorate and furnish your home. Straiton is a great location, easily accessible via the city bypass. The staff are helpful, and there are plenty of free parking spaces available.

Ikea… to be honest who doest like ikea. It is good for family shopping, feel like u are home when u walk through the demo bedrooms, drawing rooms, kitchen…. Just amazing.

Like every IKEA I’ve visited the stores are virtually all identical so you know the order where items are the Edinburgh branch is no different. The only irritating thing I found was when I ordered a kitchen cabinet I had to collect it from another warehouse about a mile away however it was ready when I got there so no need to wait. There is plenty of parking,even a separate area for click and collect, which I believe It’s a timed slot. I tried to have a coffee afterwards but the queue was too long and taking ages so gave up in the end. The overall experience was fairly good I got what I wanted the area on the ground floor where all the random items are is the best I thought a bit of a ‘pick and mix’ would I go again yes but only on a annual basis it’s not somewhere I’d go every week.

We placed the order 1476806989 on the 11th of November. The delivery was meant to be for the 24th of November. We were never contacted at all to let us know we were not getting anything delivered that day, so we spent all Sunday at home waiting. We were given the 2nd of December as a new date for delivery, but again! We never got anything and no one contacted us to let us know. Another day spent trapped at home! The 14th was a new date to deliver our items. Guess what? I contact customer service by chat, one agent tells me he is transferring me to the kitchen department services as it seems to be an issue, the new agent that takes my case says I have been transferred to thr wrong are as the kitchen services doesn't exist, but he confirms, by supposedly calling the hub, that I am getting my stuff delivered today, it just seems to be a delay. I then decided to call and the guy tells me they can not find the items, so they're not even sure they can deliver them today. Worst service and experience I've ever had. They don't respect clients time at all and not even bother to call or leave any sort of information regarding your order.

Great products worth paying a litte extra you know it's going to last

Después de haber leído las críticas que casi no fuimos. Fuimos a almorzar y el lugar estaba muy ocupado. Tuve albóndigas vegetales y festín festivo, Marido e Hija tuvieron albóndigas y tres pudines de Yorkshire. Nuestras tres comidas, zumo, agua y pastel de chocolate era de £ 23. ¡Una ganga absoluta! Las mesas fueron limpiadas y limpiadas. No sé de dónde vienen las otras críticas negativas. Soy muy exigente y me gusta un restaurante para estar limpio y relación calidad-precio. ¡IKEA Edimburgo, sigue trabajando!

Returned to get in a spot of Xmas gift buying. Ikea seems to be suffering like other retailers from stock shortages with seemingly fewer choices. However it was the much anticipated visit to the restaurant for our customary meatball lunch that was a major let down. Firstly the food was lukewarm at best. The gravy, what there was of it, was very runny and watery in consistency. Nothing like the rich sauce I remembered from previous visits. It definitely felt like a case of stretching out by dilution (shrinkflation in a new format perhaps). To complete the meal we tried to fill our soft drinks glasses from the draught dispensers but this took an age as we got 90% froth and little liquid which once we did get sufficient to drink was pretty tasteless Once we had obtained our food we tried without great success to find a clean table. I have no doubt that someone had indeed wiped the tables as I could see the dirty circles which had presumably been created by using a dirty cloth and/or dirty water. (See photos attached) A sad fall from the dizzy heights of the past for this store. To be honest 3 stars is being generous but I have given them as stock shortages are outwith the control of retailers currently. But perhaps a little more care and supervision from the management team will encourage staff to be more observant and take a little more pride in their workplace. I will return next year as everything can change in time and as a landlord I value the product selection and quality received in the past to maintain my properties and hopefully this store too will reverse this sad decline

Very large and accessible store

It's IKEA, they do flat pack furniture etc as well as anyone. One store looks just like the next...so reliable too!

Well-stocked superstore located outside the city but also very well connected by public transport

Don't get me wrong, I like IKEA stuff and some of their designs, and we happily decided to go with IKEA for a kitchen. The problems started happening after we paid the total amount required. Partial deliveries, failed deliveries, lack of communication, delivering an entire kitchen (130 plus boxes) stuffing them into a garage, and then only after we advised that there looked to be items missing did they advise that we needed another delivery . Following a second delivery which included advice on how to accept deliveries (two weeks after they stuffed our garage with boxes) we were advised a further delivery would be required and by the way your install date is 4 months from initial delivery!!!!!! We contacted IKEA to find out what was gong on only to be advised that they probably shouldn't have made the delivery but they weren't going to do anything about it and we had to just work around the boxes as they didn't want to come and lift them again only to bring them back 3 months later. So it is obviously OK to completely inconvenience the customer. Honestly I like their designs but I would not go through this hassle I would seriously consider using a different supplier that is better organised and easier to talk too. You get left on phone lines, get passed to other departments and cannot fins anyone willing to do anything to help. PS we are still waiting for some items which are apparently out of stock and we have no prospect of getting our garage back for another two months. PS when I advised IKEA that the garage was not fully weather proof, their answer was that if anything got damaged and it was noted when fitted they would organise a replacement!!!!!! Now who is going to be inconvenienced by waiting for replacement parts? IKEA? I don't think so.. Honestly check other suppliers before deciding, you do not need this hassle and lack of concern over your issues.

The cafe is great value although the long wait to pay, collect drinks &c makes any hot food cold by the time you get to sit down. The one-way long route march along the aisles of the store is exhausting; I always feel that I'm being encouraged, like a farm animal, through channelled fences that will end up at a cattle dip.

Shop ... nothing to like , bad , bad time in messy place with awful food and zero costumes service experience that I would recommend , where as You expect , quality do not exist . Place is as bad as urban story say .

Very efficient layout. The furniture is generally of a modern style. Some excellent items for making small places more functional. It's not going to be for everyone's taste.

Personally I don't like how busy it is and you have to walk through the entire store to get to the busy tills, then having to queue again at the busy Ikea warehouse...I only went out of pure necessity but 2 stars because the item of furniture I bought is pretty decent.

It's a typical IKEA. In Scotland, it is pronounced ``eye-kea'' instead of ``ikea''. Once you exit the cash register, you'll also find classic hot dogs and ice cream! !

There are always a lot of people, so it is better to come two hours before closing to avoid standing in long lines. A large selection of products, which is conveniently divided into departments. There is a cafe on the second floor and a fast food restaurant on the first floor. With a club card, you can collect bonuses for purchases.

IKEA is AMAZINGLY absolutely incredible I got veggie meatballs with chips and gravy and a cheesecake. My friend got meat meatballs with chips , gravy and a melty chocolate cake with whipped cream (fontastuque) would definitely recommend

This IKEA has recently stopped selling takeaway meatballs at the exit. Shopping experience has frankly been ruined and I am genuinely gutted about this extremely stupid decision to make less money.

Your average ikea like the rest. Nice easy location to get to. Shop was clean and well presented. I only gave the 4/5 stars as I asked the location of an item from a staff member and I just didn't feel they really cared to go that extra mile to help.

I bought furniture with my boyfriend, they postponed the delivery several times, and then even the next time they didn't bother to set another date, we had to call all the time and find out how we had given up on the furniture and now we can't get our money back, this store is the worstfraud and extortion of money and some kind of mockery, they should be dealt with by some inspections

Restaurant is always busy. Food is not very well presented on the plate. Meatballs seemed smaller than usual, and sauce was thinner than I remember it since I was last there

It's IKEA, IKEA is IKEA. Not at all happy to queue for 20 minutes and the guy to shut the till so had to rejoin another already long queue - a zero for customer care but it's pretty much what I expect at IKEA. Furniture is variously cheap and not cheap and poor to OK quality. If you're not careful you will spend more than you wanted to and probably leave with stuff you didn't really want but it has it's convenience when you need something at short notice.

Nightmare of a shop, it's like they force u to walk round every dam dept in the hope u will pick something up u don't really need or want. Avoid if its a quick pick up and go item. Cafe is hmm so so. Be warned if ur having a late u need a map to find the machine it's as if ur going in to a separate coffee shop

Love to walk around hard not to buy loads. Also the breakfast was great.

You go here for the food . It is cheap and really good! They are not in the furniture business they are into food business
