Birdhouse Cafe

Banchory and Mid Deeside, Aberdeenshire
27/02/2019: Visited the cafe on a recent short trip to Banchory and was very impressed. Hot chocolate was delicious, plentiful selection of tea, and massive cakes and scones that really hit the spot. To top it all off, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Will definitely be back on my next visit to the town.
17/02/2019: So impressive staff very nice coffee and food great will definitely recommend to others , looking forward to our next visit

No 10 Bar

Hazlehead / Ashley / Queens Cross, Aberdeen City
04/03/2019: What a place, food can not be faulted here. Staff are very polite and attentive, excellent presentation and flavours. We will be back.
18/02/2019: First time we have ever been to the restaurant, the staff have been attentive beyond measure. My wife has very high allergies and one of the waitresses (Erica) in particular was very careful and made sure she had the correct food throughout our time in this restaurant. Your staff are a credit and asset to you and I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone, you will not be disappointed!

Farmer Browns Ice cream Parlour

Huntly, Strathbogie and Howe of Alford, Aberdeenshire
14/03/2019: Exceptionally friendly service and nice homemade ice creams and teas, although the prices of the farm produce is WAY over the top compared to that at nearby outlets. The open day in the summer should be AVOIDED if you value health and safety with tractors and trailers moving about. Also, the organisation of events at the open day is truly hopeless.
16/01/2019: Very good place to visit with the kids as there is a kids play area outside food in cafe is good but the ice creams are fairly expensive though big choice of flavours all made with farms own milk.

Books and Beans

George St / Harbour, Aberdeen City, <20£
09/02/2019: I took my children and our family dog and we were all made very welcome including a drink and treat for our dog. Lovely homemade soup served with great bread. Lovely sandwiches and if you still have space great muffins. You can also browse and buy books whilst enjoying great coffee. Seating is over two floors and the atmosphere is very relaxed.
07/02/2019: Pre theatre lunch. Home made soups are always good and often unusual flavours to try. Sandwiches also have a variety of fillings on offer. Add to that all the books to browse and you have to be careful you don’t forget the time!

St Machar Bar

Tillydrone / Seaton / Old Aberdeen, Aberdeen City
07/11/2018: The pub has been around a fair while. So long as to say no more new pubs are allowed in the area. It serves decent pub grub and has a nice selection of ales, whisky and gin.
03/09/2018: We stopped in here for lunch and had a wonderful experience. The bartender/server was jolly and nice, the burgers were superb and the atmosphere was laid back and comfortable.

The Kilted Frog

Inverurie and District, Aberdeenshire
08/03/2019: Patrick is a lovely man who seems to have been horribly misunderstood by some uncultured swines. Ignore the bad reviews. He is charming, funny et intelligent. Would much rather be supporting this local business than propping up the chains. Keep up the great work!
22/02/2019: This is a super little gem in the heart of inverurie. Lots of yummy options to bring home. Serves excellent coffee and good coffee shop menu.

The Foodstory Cafe

Midstocket / Rosemount, Aberdeen City
15/03/2019: I have eaten here many times and don't get the hype. It's always busy and popular and I love the vibe. But the food has always left me feeling underwhelmed. The staff are friendly, the place is great. It's even dog friendly which I welcome. But the food and the coffee are so uninspiringly average I want to cry. I went for breakfast with my female healthy eating friend a couple of weeks ago - poached eggs on a massive piece of sourdough toast and some vegetable garnish that didn't go and detracted from the dish. The volume of bread dwarfed the eggs. No concept of balance. I'm really sorry to criticise because I have to note I have lots of friends who love the place but I won't be back.
14/03/2019: We're not Vegan but we do enjoy eating at this excellent Vegan cafe. The food is always fresh, hot and tasty, and the Hot Toddy is just the ticket on a cold winter's day.

Brown Sugar Cafe

Aboyne, Upper Deeside and Donside, Aberdeenshire
19/03/2019: Having seen all types of weather, the sunder afternoon outing was coming to a close, but on our way back to Aberdeen we wanted to stop off for a drink and cake. Its not easy finding cafe's open late on a sunday afternoon. We turned up just 30 mins before closing at 5pm but the staff were still welcoming and there was quite a selection of cakes on offer.
28/02/2019: Great place to stop for lunch or coffee. Comfortable, warm with spotlessly clean toilets. All home made foods & amazing chocolates. Friendly, welcoming & efficient staff.

Sinclairs

Inverurie and District, Aberdeenshire, <20£
13/03/2019: Food was ok but comes out really fast so most must be pre-prepared and /or really well organised kitchen, think it's the latter - service was sketchy though, drinks forgotten about and although a cast of thousands working none made regular eye contact so customers left waiting.....and I have to mention that the 'creamed rice pudding' on the menu for £4.95 is actually tinned ambrosia (so said the waitress) rip off of the day if you order it!
10/03/2019: Stopped in here while shopping in Inverurie. Tho it was nearly closing time staff were polite and friendly. Quick service . Soup and sandwiches were freshly made and good quality . Great cup of coffee . Decent value for money .
