Really great choice. Service and food were great. My bacon and brie sandwich with chilli James served with crisps, salad and a wonderful coleslaw was just really tasty and filling. Toasted cheese and ham sandwich made to order looked great. Pea soup was really good. Just a great stop for a really posh sandwich lunch ( prices reflect that it's.more than just a sandwich shop - so that's fair).

If in the area we always try to visit Gannets. Such fab food especially if you have dietary requirements. Family of all ages catered well for and service is always excellent. Definitely worth visiting.

I had heard Gannets was good and I was down in Laurencekirk picking something up so thought I'd pop in for a takeaway as I had my baby with me. I was just going for coffee and cake but ended up ordering a sandwich. The service was excellent by both people I dealt with. The sandwich came in a huge box with salad, coleslaw and probably a whole bag of crisps. It was the lightest, fluffiest bread ever. The banana bread I chose was probably the best I've ever had and the slice was HUGE! The cake cabinet was immense! The coffee was also lovely. I will definitely be back, thank you.

Superb little cafe offering a great range of dishes. Something on the menu to suit everyone, good choice for vegetarians. Huge portions, all beautifully presented and fresh. The home baking looks amazing, we were just too full to sample any of them. I have been here a few times times now and not been disappointed. Friendly service, reasonably priced. It's quite a small place and does get busy so I would recommend booking a table. Look forward to the next time. Well done Gannets!

I've been in here a few times while working in the area and it's on my list of trusted cafes. They always have an interesting selection of options on the menu and specials board. I love the bagels. Quick service and a great selection of amazing cakes. Not cheap buy it's well worth it. Looking forward to my next survey in Laurencekirk.

Nipped off the main road South for a 9.00 am breakfast this morning. I had my usual black pudding roll and cup of tea, which was delicious and my wife had her usual coffee with Eggs Benedict, commenting that it's the best she's ever had, and these have been well sampled. This is our first time here and it certainly won't be our last, already planning a trip down simply to sample the home bakes which were on display and were most definitely mouth watering. Lovely atmosphere, attentive staff and only a few minutes off the main route south or heading north, most certainly well worth a visit.

Great food. Well made food, local bread and a great menu. Had plenty of veggie and vegan options. I had smashed Avo on chunky toast with garlic mushrooms. Then a great big empire biscuit and an oat latte. Delicious and I will keep going back.

We were looking for a breakfast 20-30 miles south of Aberdeen, and decided on a small detour into Laurencekirk. And what a lovely little gem! A warm welcome when we went in - a good choice too, although we only wanted something light. We settled on a bacon roll (good roll, tasty bacon and plenty of it), and a smoothie bowl. This was superb, my wife struggled to finish it, and declared it the best. When we ordered we spotted the lovely scones, and decided to order one between us - this was totally unnecessary - we were already full! But the scone was good too. Very reasonably priced, and as I said, well worth a detour.

Id read great things about this place and managed at last to pay a visit for lunch as part of a tandem ride with my other half. Everything on the menu (and other tables) looked tempting and we weren't disappointed. I had a huge pancake stack with a cooked breakfast within and my wife had a veggie flatbread. Both delicious. Staff were very friendly with service spot on. Nice touch to ask if we wanted our hot drinks right away or with our food. Not too expensive either. Laurencekirk you have a gem - look after it!!

This is our local coffee shop, we are so lucky to have it and frequent it on a near weekly basis. The staff are always friendly and welcoming, the food is delicious, big portion sizes and it's very reasonably priced. Whether grabbing a coffee and cake with friends, stopping in for lunch or taking away an afternoon tea you can find it all made with love at Gannets.

We had the afternoon tea today which was amazing. I literally cannot fault this cafe on my numerous previous visits. There was a great selection of sandwiches, cakes, scones, a quiche and a sausage roll. The white chocolate and Oreo scone was delicious. Despite my best efforts I still had a doggy bag home with me! I will be definitely be back very soon!

Excellent welcoming bistro - a hidden gem of the Mearns. Since moving to the area in 2016, we were lucky enough to find out about Gannets through friends, and their occasional bistro nights. When they come around, don’t miss out on the opportunity. Aaron and Kirsty have created a wonderful business, and are very welcoming. Menus choices are excellent and the food second to none. When the bistro night isn’t on, they provide a great variety of cakes and light bites. Their weekly club sandwich is always a treat. They always utilise a great selection of local produce too.
