What a wee treat to discover Shona and Coastal Cuppie. Shona was so welcoming and was just opening as we arrived laden with cakes just out of the oven. We had home made scones and carrot cake with freshly brewed coffee. It was all really tasty. It is currently in the lovely decorated local hall. I even got a spoonful of honey for my cough. Stopped off in Pennan while out on a drive along the coast. Had a fine cup of tea and lovely piece of cake with pistachio nuts on top (I forget the name of it) at the Coastal Cuppie. Very friendly and welcoming place to stop while visiting the beautiful Pennan.

Just had a lovely wee visit to the Coastal Cuppie at Pennan! The homemade scones with cream and jam were absolutely delicious. Shona was lovely and made us feel very welcome. 🥰

Absolutely delighted to find this tearoom in an incredible location, with toilet facilities that would embarrass a lot of towns. Great home made cakes, and all with the set of Local Hero right outside the door!!!

Visiting Pennan, we couldn’t find Coastal Cuppie, so on a second sweep of the village we asked a friendly dog walker where the cafe was. It turned out, we had asked the owner herself, she said it was closed but offered to open it for ourselves considering we had travelled to visit. Amazing, she dropped her dogs off home and then opened up just for us. We had amazing carrot cake and hot drinks. Friendliest service ever. Brilliant place.

Friendly atmosphere, fabulous carrot cake, best I’ve ever eaten. (So good we bought what was left to take home) Local photographer Fiona took amazing photographs of last weeks aurora borealis. We also bought one of her photos. Pennan Community hall also needs donations, so we donated. We will be going back again next time we’re up this way.

We were in need of a cuppa after a wild weather walk. Just managed to get to Pennan before the cafe in the village hall (conveniently next to the beach and car park) closed. So pleased we did. A friendly welcome, good coffee and wonderful piece of fruity, nutty carrot cake - almost a meal in itself. We left pleasantly revived. Thank you.

We called at Pennan Village Hall after a walk on the beach to Coastal Cuppie established in the hall during the winter. What a lovely friendly lady. We had the vegetable soup with oatcakes, the coffee and a fruit scone with clotted cream and jam. Absolutely yummy, the soup was delicious. All for a great price. Please visit this lovely coffee shop stop. Places like this are amazing for those of us who holiday in the UK and we should invest our time for their hard work.

I had the very BEST Victoria sponge I have ever had! And I'm 73 years old! It was filled with fresh raspberries and cream - and the most tasty, light sponge.... The Coastal Cuppie 'Hut' by the harbour was closed as it's getting colder and we visited Coastal Cuppie in the Village Hall - a lovely venue. I drink Earl Grey tea which was readily available and there was a huge selection of teas and my partner had a great coffee. Wonderful homemade cakes and scones.... The lovely woman owner who served us couldn't have been more helpful. Had a lovely chat with her - sorry I didn't ask her name. Afterwards we wandered to the Coastal Cuppie Hut in the harbour and saw all the seats and tables and a beautiful, quirky garden outside - great place to visit Coastal Cuppie in better weather. Thank goodness it can continue in the Village Hall in the winter! Highly recommend! Thank you!

Wow what a wonderful find!!! This lovely little space provides a warm welcome with beautiful bakes and hot drinks. The cakes were the best we've tasted! We plumped for the Victoria sponge full of juicy raspberries and blackberries and the blueberry and lemon cake, tangy deliciousness. Don't miss out on this gem of a place if you're in the beautiful village of Pennan.

Ventured along to the harbour and spotted this fab little café. Lovely homemade cakes and a wide choice of teas and coffees. Friendly owner and nothing was too much trouble for her. FYI Cash only

Highlight of our 5 day stay in Pennan, beautiful view and delicious cakes. We went 3 times (a testament to how good Shona's cakes are because I'm more of a savoury person usually). The cakes were still warm as she freshly bakes them and walks them down to coastal cuppie! Highly recommend the berry and yoghurt, Victoria sponge and lime and blueberry cakes. Bring cash, no reception in harbour!

The best cup of tea (from a range of about 50 different varieties) and fresh from the oven berry, yogurt cake. Sat in the sunshine right by harbour. Perfect

Pennan is a fabulous find on the Moray Coast. The Coastal Coppie is the icing in the cake! Shona was so welcoming and very sweet. TAKE CASH because there is no reception. Shona let us have tea, coffee and scones and trusted that we make a donation with The Pennan Harbour Trust once we got reception for data/wifi. Please do this if you visit as it keeps this wee community alive and welcoming! Highly recommended

Had two lovely pieces of mango&passion fruit and blueberry&lime cakes as well as some cappuccinos and filtered coffees. Drinks were really good, but the cakes were delicious and baked a few minutes before serving. Truly perfect morning! The service was as charming as you wished of it to be.

We visited Pennan this afternoon for the first time. A really beautiful little village and had coffee and cakes at Coastal Cuppie. The owner is very friendly and welcoming and her home baking was absolutely delicious. Will definitely go back.

I found Coastal Cuppie to be absolutely brilliant. We were at Pennan for a visit and stopped by for a hot drink and a cake. They had a large variety of teas (more than the local supermarket), a range of coffee including flavoured lattes and hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows (exactly what was needed to keep my troops happy). Home baking was excellent. The Blueberry, lime and lemon cake was perfect. Very friendly and nice outside seating area at the harbour. Thanks and hope to visit again

What a perfect little coffee stop in a stunning location, the lady who operates this little coffee both is really lovely and friendly, we had the most delicious fruit scones with lovely quality jam and clotted cream, coffee was good too. Highly recommend.

I very briefly visited Penan for an afternoon and stumbled across this lovely place. Right at the end of the harbour tucked in the corner against the cliff. Lovely assortment of stuff and the coffee is a lovely rich flavour but not too bitter (which is hard to come by). She doesn’t have strong enough signal for card machines so bring cash. But I’ve left her some tips in the hope she’ll be able to get a solution that works (and offered my help to get it up and running) so she can broaden her ability to collect payments.

We visited Pennan while touring the area in mid June 2023. We enjoyed tea, coffee and cakes which were all home made and fabulous. Great to chat with the lady selling the cakes who was very knowledgeable about the Local Hero film and locations nearby....

My daughter Sarah and I visited Pennan Harbour and stopped at the Coastal Cuppie. Shona was really lovely & accommodating, we didn’t have any cash with us but she still served us coffee & cake (which was delicious) on the understanding that we made a donation to the Harbour Trust which we have done. We recently stayed in Pennan for a holiday and visited Coastal Cuppie most days for tea and cake. Shona is so friendly and welcoming and the spot on the harbour wall is a real sun trap. Her cakes are all handmade and delicious. Would highly recommend a visit if you are staying close to Pennan or passing by.

A beautiful, quiet and calm little place, and so chuffed we could chill with a coffee from Coastal Cuppa and enjoy the view. Just a shame it was too soon after our breakfast to have a cake, the scones looked fabulous.

We stayed for a weekend spending time swimming in the sea and Shona always had a cuppa and hot stone ready to warm us up when we got out. Her cakes are all home made by herself and are amazing ! We had one everyday if not 2 ! Oops she is great to chat to and we had such a laugh with her. No matter the weather it’s a joy to sit have a natter and fill yr belly with everything wonderful ❤️🍰 Remember to take cash as no connection for card payments you won’t be disappointed.

Eine kleine Hütte direkt am Hafen. Die liebenswerte Besitzerin bietet hier Kaffee, Tee und sehr leckeren, selbstgemachten Kuchen an. Genießen kann man die Produkte direkt vor Ort, es sind reichlich Sitzgelegenheiten vorhanden. Wenn man in der Stimmung ist gibt es auch noch einen kleinen Plausch on top dazu :)

Sehr leckerer Kuchen, Tee und Kaffee, die man hier direkt am Wasser in einem kleinen Dörfchen mit toller Aussicht genießen kann. Ein Besuch lohnt sich.

This was truly a treasure to have stumbled across. The lady was just incredibly friendly helpful and an infectious happiness around her. So happy to find the coastal cuppie this week when visiting Pennan. Firstly it was the 'only' place to get anything to eat or drink in the wonderful Pennan as the Inn is often closed, and secondly the experience was a delight. Shona was so welcoming and helpful with local info but more importantly makes the most amazing scones with cream and jam. If Shona has to pop out there is a little clock on the counter telling you when she'll be back. Well worth waiting for.
