has always been a dependable source of fruit, veg, cheese, etc. can't claim to be cheap but the quality is good

We were staying near Ballaster and when looking for "things to do" the Deeside Deli was recommended - and it didn't disappoint! We called for meal supplies whilst my Husband chose accompaniments for our venison steaks (purchased from HM Sheridan's) I was entrusted with getting the cheeses.......not the best idea as so much to choose from, had a little taste too and settled on three blocks (Lochnagar, Elderflower Chedder & Black Bomber) all very delicious - wishes we had got more. Highly recommend a visit - so much stock choice.

We walked into the village every day for lunch. My favorite was the ham and brie, but my husband had a different sandwich each day. The food was fresh and delicious and I will miss the desserts! Everyone who works there is kind and friendly - the ladies have earned our highest recommendation!

Looking at all the local cheeses (some locally -made) and cold meats, it's always a difficult, but pleasant, decision here. Can thoroughly recommend the home-made quiches and there's a great selection of fruit, veg, speciality biscuits and herbs. Excellent service and all current Covid precautions are followed, including one-at-a-time entry to the shop, which makes life very easy and safe.

Visited to pick up a couple of things for a ‘tapas’ tea. Only one customer in the shop at a time at the moment (damn CoVid) but the ladies were so attentive and never made me feel as though I was being rushed. Lovely selection of cheese and I could have spent a long time browsing both the deli counter and the shelves but others were politely and patiently awaiting their turn!

Pop in to Deeside Deli in Ballater or message an order for freshly made sandwiches from extensive takeaway menu. Absolutely delicious. Excellent, helpful service. Highly recommend

Picked up a few bits here for dinner and were really impressed with the selection and quality of the produce. Some local cheeses available too.

This is a shop i use weekly. The range of fruit,vegetables and cheeses are the best in the area. Each day they produce home made quiches and sandwiches plus soup to take away. Much of their produce is grown or sourced locally and there is always something tempting on offer.

Always stop here for cheese, local bread, butter etc when visiting Ballater. Considering the relatively small shop they provide a great selection of high quality food.

You can get everything you want in this place. All the bits for a picnic or light lunch or supper. Everything is the best quality and you pay for it but I don’t begrudge paying a premium for quality.

The Royal family have had links with Balmoral since Queen Victoria’s time and this is their local high street. Not the usual kind, as you might imagine and many supply goods to the Castle. One of the services offered by the Deeside Deli is to prepare salad boxes for picnics with a choice of meat or fish and a selection of salads. We had three with a sort of bread called a buttery, some amazing fresh raspberries and cream and soft drinks for about £6 a head. Great food and fantastic service and value.

Went in to get some cheese and came out with lots of lovely deli food. Happy to let you sample. Fresh produce. Great experience

バラスターでうまいものを買おうと思ったら、まず、この店だろう。入るとすぐ品揃えの良さが分かる。チーズを買いたいと言ったら 、すぐoatcakeと一緒に食べることを薦めてくれた。私はoatcakeを今まで食べたことがなかったが、食べて、なるほど、チーズにはoatcakeかと納得した。その他、いかにも自家製という感じの料理が並んでいて、選択に困る。

Lovely selection of cheeses as well as stocking the elusive beetroot which we couldn’t find in any supermarket. Nice smart shop, a treat to find in a wee town.

During our holiday this Deli has been a regular place to visit. Really fresh fruit, tasty quiche, delicious cooked meats and an excellent variety of cheeses. The staff were helpful and friendly. A real gem in thus lovely town

This is a relatively small Deli that is well worth visiting, particularly for their excellent selection of cheeses. They also stock "proper" vegetables, and I was pleased to note that "dirty carrots" are still on sale.

Huge choice of fillings crammed into delicious bread or rolls. They never disappoint! Specially recommend the Brie and Pear ....

Mi familia compró el paquete de bienvenida del Deeside Deli durante nuestra estancia en Ballater. Todo era bueno, pero me encantó la mermelada de frambuesa. Era tan delicioso que me insistió en que comprar 2 tarros para llevar a casa. La mermelada es todo natural y casero. Ojalá el Deeside Deli no era un océano de distancia!

If you like to go for a picknick this is the place to get a lovely lunch to go. Very friendly ladies make your day start with a smile.

Durante una semana en Ballater compras aquí en varias ocasiones. El contador de queso era encantador, la variedad de alimentos relativamente pequeña, pero de alta calidad y una oportunidad para comprar productos y productos.

Popped in to look at this attractive wee shop. Tasted a couple of cheeses and bought a few. Superb selection for this country location.

Visited this shop originally on the recommendation of the Riverside Cottage Restaurant who told us that we could buy the locally-made cheddar cheese there. Wonderful smell as you enter the store, a great feast for the eyes. Bought the cheese, a home-made quiche for our...

Great to find this deli - they make cakes, quiches etc which are superb. They have a good range of fresh veg, cheese, olives, wines etc - good to have independent suppliers in a small place like Ballater.

This is a very nice shop run by lovely people. Although the "deli" side of the business isn't particularly extensive, they have some nice stuff and the cheese selection is excellent. I also liked the look of the local vegetables, and how refreshing to see a sign proclaiming "dirty carrots".

This is a wonderful little store. Selling everything from fresh fruits & veg to local preserves to antipasti. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about the local produce. Extensive cheese counter where you can try before you buy. The sandwiches are freshly made and delicious. Please visit them if you are in Ballater and support the local businesses.

La nourriture est excellente. Nous avons pris saumon fumé et côtés de boeuf c était vraiment parfait et goûteux . ..Rien à dire sur la nourriture Par contre n y aller pour le service ....Il est très sommaire ...Le seul endroit où je n ai pas laissé de tips depuis une semaine que je suis en Ecosse

If you need a store to get some fresh and healthy provisions to fuel a hearty walk then this is the only place. Massive selection of meats, salads fruit and veg etc, all fresh and plentiful. They do an amazing salad box to take on the hill for £6 which is a bargin! Highly recommended!!

We love the cheese selection here and better still we were allowed to sample it before a purchase was made. They make lovely sandwiches, well worth a visit.

Lovely selection of produce from cook your own to pre-pepared stuff of a high standard. Helpful and happy staff and a great selection to choose from. Sandwiches also made to order for the lunchtime snack. A pleasure to shop here.

Tried a few treats here. Cheese with mango and ginger gorgeous took some home, chrizio and tomato slice was very tasty, potato salad and stuffed peppers. All yummy

Wonderful selection of cheese meats wine and antipasti. Best place for freshly made sandwiches and homemade quiches.

De huisgemaakte Merengues, cakes, quiches en andere hartige taarten zijn om je vingers bij op te eten. Het personeel helpt je met een glimlach en adviseert graag. Gewoon heerlijke delicatessen!

They have unique sandwiches with specialty cheese and chutney of various flavors. Also, have olives, yum!!!!
