Lovely little place for a great cup of coffee and on my visit a black pudding and fried egg roll which was fab , staff always friendly and it does feel as though they know everybody who comes in, always a stop for us if in the area. Edit ; The Tuck is now under new ownership and weve been in twice , the food and service has gone up a level and its now a definite place to stop when in the area , try the Murly Benadict absolutely fabulous

OMG! A small cafe in a small town serving breakfast and lunch. I ordered Ciabatta with roasted vegetables, mozzarella and tomato sauce. To the point: Very large portion, very tasty, freshly prepared food. A sandwich with grilled chicken and mayonnaise sauce EXCELLENT, similar in taste to Indian curry (it's a pity they don't have such in Aberdeen...) and cream of lentil soup 😍 Black coffee reminded us of the depth of real African coffee, it tastes great without milk I RECOMMEND

Once a month, the Murly Tuck, do a late opening 5pm till 8pm Dinner Service, you can book but walk in are welcome. You can bring your own bottle and pay a corking fee. The menu is very good and well priced compared to some of the places we have eaten. The Service Was very good. The two young ladies who were the waitresses covered their stations very well. They were polite, knowledgeable about the menu, and very attentive. The Food Was amazing and complimentary of each other items on the menu. The portions were on the large side and could be smaller. However, it was very tasty and great value for money and will go back for the next late night dinner. The Murly Tuck is under new management and is open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch, afternoon teas or just a coffee and catch up with friends. Tarves Aberdeenshire is a great place to visit

Went to the “new” Murly Tuck, to have a look at the changes. Ordered two soups to go. Soup was carrot, basil and tomato and was good, but could do with more / stronger flavours. However the tiny cup with soup for £5 each was a huge disappointment! With the size being so small now, we will think twice about ordering any more. There was also a lot of people working behind the counter, and it looked crammed. Service was ok.

Stopped for a few fancy pieces! Not disappointed, cookie pie slice was HUGE!! Small place but the seating was no issue for 3 of us. Was a sunny day and plenty of people out, but did not take us long to get served or to get our treats we ordered. Staff were fine and attentive and all the fancy cakes made for a fun afternoon out. Think we were about £20 for 3 giant cake treats and 3 drinks, which included my daughter getting bubble tea with apple and strawberry!?! Was a treat and everyone enjoyed it!

A superb country town cafe, hugely supported by locals, cyclists, and visitors. Excellent food, breakfast, my regular downfall, being the best in the area. Cakes cabinet filled with treats and they do afternoon teas with caked, just book. Service is always welcoming and friendly, nothing is too much. Went with a friend, first time for both of us. Arrived and waited to be seated , 3 empty tables- one large , one for two and a strange little table by the kitchen . We were offered the tiny to me by the kitchen but declined as we were there for catch up and explained this- didn’t want to sit in a throughfare with our elbows tucked in. Then shown to the bigger table, got settled in, and then asked to move as the table was ‘reserved’. No one use it the entire time we were there. We had tea, I had a cheese scone - which was very good- friend didn’t fancy any of the food. It’s basic cafe stuff for the most part. We enjoyed our tea, but being moved and fibbed to about the table we had didn’t sit well

Absolutely fantastic. Have visited a couple of times now. I am a very picky person and quite harsh when it comes to hospitality standards as I have been a manager of several fine-dining establishments in the past. Tried Steak Burger, Muckle Breakfast and Mushroom soup of the day. Can not fault a single bit! Service 10/10 from every member of the team. Coffee 10/10 cup to cup. Perfectly silky latte froth every time! Food 10/10 absolutely delicious and wonderfully presented. Atmosphere 10/10. Cute, homely decor fits perfectly the aesthetic of this countryside gem. I don’t leave reviews very often, but I have been left feeling like I owe one to hard-working staff of The Murly Tuck. Well Done and Thank you.

Very disappointed after our most recent visit to the Murly Tuck. We went mid morning on a Sunday and inside was very chilly with no heating on - well certainly the radiator we were next to was off! So sat with jackets on. Ordered our food which was fine but then plates were taken away from myself and husband whilst our daughter was still eating! The place was empty so not like screaming out for tables! Think too much staff for that time of day with nothing to do. My husband went to pay whilst my daughter and I remained at the table and our cups/juice were then removed again before finished! Find this totally unnecessary when the place was empty. Got no thank you or bye from anyone so will certainly think twice before returning.
