We dropped in for lunch and were pleasantly surprised. The gentleman who served us was very friendly and keen to ensure we got exactly what we wanted. The food was delivered reasonably quickly and was fresh, hot, and tasty. I also had a friendly chat with the gent when paying the bill, and he told me how I could get in touch with Jimmy Buchan, one of my heroes. This was really appreciated as I met up with Jimmy, which was fantastic. .....thanks heaps.

We had a lovely lunch of homemade soup and sandwiches followed by homemade cake. My husband had an apple and cinnamon scone and said it was the best he had even tasted. The gentleman whom served us was very friendly and informative about the local area. We would definitely visit again if in the area, highly recommend.

I had lunch here on two consecutive days. The place is immaculately clean, and tables are cleared as soon as the customers have left, the tables sanitised and the floor around the table swept. The service is very good. The portions are small, but tasty, there are home made as well as baker supplied cakes. It’s a cafe that seems popular with the locals, proven by the footfall. The computerised coffee machine produces coffee that didn’t appeal to me, so I took tea on the second day. It appears though that a decent cup of coffee is hard to find in Peterhead in my experience, nonetheless, from the obvious efforts in all other matters the place is worth a five star rating.

My husband and I frequent the Special Treat regularly, for our coffee and cakes. Lovely atmosphere, and the staff are lovely nothings too much trouble for them.

Went to A Special Treat during the Seafood Festival. The place was incredibly busy but the staff provided excellent service and there was a friendly atmosphere. I had the most delicious Cullen Skink, which was perfectly made and seasoned. This was served with very fresh bread and the coffee was first class. I had no room after this, but the home bakes looked very good. No skimping on the quality of the ingredients either and my meal was good value for money. I noticed that the restaurant was scrupulously clean and full of local people which is always a good sign. Next time I am in Peterhead I will definitely return.

I go to A Special Treat regularly either through work or with family. The staff are amazing and they are so accommodating as they regularly check their products to see if they are suitable for me to eat and also make sure that there are vegan products available such as their lime and coconut cake and some of their soups which are delicious. I would recommend anyone who hasn’t given it a try to do so. You won’t be disappointed 😊

What a lovely evening, great food, friendly staff and the quiz was a bonus. What a laugh the place was buzzing.

On a very wet day we were recommended to come here and were not disappointed. Warm and friendly welcome, excellent service and delicious lunch. Akira and Carol both attended to little details without asking - ie Carol serving an extra large portion of chips when I declined other veg that were on the menu (brother in law pleased to help me out!) and Akira giving my sister a takeaway box as she couldn't manage the whole of her panini. Brillliant. I live in Devon so may not be passing through again but would wholeheartedly recommend visiting.

Brilliant local café. Always offers fantastic coffee and a range of fancy pieces! good for a bite to eat at breakfast and lunch and very reasonably priced.

Visited here for Sunday "carvery" whilst staying onsite. Service was excellent by all staff members, however we were expecting a carvery where you help yourself to a selection of roast meats and veg. This wasn't the case it was just a regular Sunday roast prepared in the kitchen and served at your table. The roast itself was very average, the only veg being peas and carrots along with cheap tasting pigs in blankets. This was priced at around £21 pp for 2 courses,I think it was done as cheap as possible. Although the food tasted absolutely fine it was by no means anything other than average and definitely not a carvery.
