One of the nicest hotels we have ever stayed in. It is a wonderfully homely hotel, the interior really feels like coming home. When there were concerns about my partner, the ladies helped me so well. They were so kind, patient and concerned. I am very grateful to them. Very cozy rooms, there is a river running along it that you can also hear flowing with your window open, the birds chirping. There is a cozy living room where you can play games, you can play 8-ball. There is more than enough parking space and when you cross the bridge there is a Post Office where they sell all kinds of things; food, vegetables and fruit, cleaning supplies and medication. The food, both morning and evening, is delicious and prepared with great care. The ladies at the counter are also very friendly. When checking out, all you have to do is leave your room key in a box, how convenient. Definitely go here, it is highly recommended. Bridge of Cally Hotel will always have a special place in my heart and if I ever visit Scotland again I will definitely stay here again. Thank you for the nice stay!

Great service. Over priced and over cooked food. The very expensive fillet steak I ordered medium rare first arrived “blue” - it had barely touched the pan. The chef offered to cook another one which then arrived very very well done. Full price was charged. No apology offered. A really bad meal. Shame because the waiting staff were fabulous.

6 of us & 2 dogs visited last week while holidaying in Scotland. The whole restaurant was immaculate, including the dog area. Staff were absolutely brilliant. So smartly dressed, friendly, polite, attentive and so helpful with the menu. We had lasagne, steak & stout pie, venison casserole, fish & chips and chicken breast burger. Every one of our party thought their food was outstanding. It was a wet day when we visited, but the beer garden was really lovely, right next to a riverside walk trail. We'll certainly be back with no hesitation the next time we're in the area.

We love this hotel - our room 11 had a view over the garden and the river and the bridge. Michelle and Garith and the other lovely ladies took such good care of his. This is the perfect place to base yourself for a tour of the Highlands or Perthshire. We took a day and drove up to Balmoral and another to drive down to Dunkeld. We loved that we could eat a leisurely breakfast and then explore and then come back to enjoy the quaint hotel pub and then enjoy a fabulous dinner in the quaint hotel restaurant. We also loved sitting outside listening to the water rushing and also walking along the riverside path. We found this a very good value. This would be twice the price in the states.

First time we had stayed at the Bridge Of Cally Hotel, nice welcome and the staff were helpful and friendly, the room was large and had everything we needed, we ate in the restaurant and the food was really good. Be aware the drinks ain't cheap £7.50 for a pint of Mahou, London prices ☹️ it's a cash free hotel as well, they have a pool table that's £1 a game but can't give you change from the bar as there's no cash 🤔

I had a wonderful experience at The Cally Bridge Hotel restaurant. The location is stunning, overlooking the river and the bridge. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the food was delicious. I ordered the steak and ale pie, which was hearty and flavourful, with a crispy pastry and tender meat. My partner had the lasagne with cheese and tomato sauce, which was creamy and satisfying, with a golden crust and layers of pasta. The portions were generous and the prices were reasonable. The restaurant has a warm and inviting atmosphere, with a well-stocked bar. The service was prompt and efficient. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a relaxing and satisfying meal in a beautiful setting.

We have stayed here on quite a few occasions, the staff are excellent. Gareth, Straum, Johnny, Michelle and Maria were extremely attentive and friendly an asset to any hotel group. Our main concern is that on our past three visits, we had to ask at least twice to have the heating put on on or turned up as the room was very cold. This is not what we would expect from a hotel at this time of year. We normally book through the manager Gareth but don't think we will be back as on the past three occasions we came back unwell. This matter was raised with Gareth who said he would take the matter up with the hotel owner but I do not think this matter of the hotel heating policy will change

The food was excellent but the waiter was unwelcoming and rude. Apparently being asked if they had a table for 6 in an empty restaurant at 1.30pm was an outrageous request and then once one of his colleagues came up with the ground-breaking suggestion of joining 2 tables together, he then went into what he obviously thought was hilarious banter about the uselessness of teenagers (we didn't have any teenagers - he just thought we did) We all found this weird and pretty offensive to teenagers. Despite the delicious food we won't be back.

I recently vistied with family for a meal. The service was not bad other than one of the members of staff having personal hygiene issues, no-one should be allowed to serve food or drink to people in that state. The smell put me off my food. As for the food, I always say I go out to have something i couldn't make at home, this meal wasn't that. We were all so disappointed, I wish I'd just had a nice meal at home. The brie started was laden in grease. The main was burnt and the pudding stated on the menu it came with parfait which it did not, just standard ice cream. Most disappointing mealtime had in a Scottish restaurant in a long time. Only plus was the surroundings. Nice cosy fire and inviting.

The Resturant is comedically bad. The servers are absent and clueless. The waiter took the order while facing a computer terminal in the corner of the room with his back to the room. The waiter looked like he needed a wash and the smell confirmed it. The food was fairly blah. The first garlic mushrooms ever to have no taste. The medium rare steak was well done, the sausage was not cooked at all and it was impossible to spot meat in the sausage. The chicken breast was cut in half and shared with another serving. The chips were very distant relatives of potato! In reality it was not horrible, they just sent it in!

Stayed here for a night with friends and family. The tall guy staff (we were told he was one of the managers) that welcomed us wasn’t really welcoming and helpful at times. We booked 5 bedrooms but due to not having enough people as some cancelled - he decided that we shouldn’t get a key for 1 of the rooms that we booked for, even though we paid and will not get a refund for it - apparently, we are no longer entitled to use the room as there isn’t enough people when we have toddlers and +++ stuff which we can use that room for. Head managers had to decide if we can use the room we paid for or not for some reason. Another issue was when we required some refreshments for the kids and ourselves. As it was a bit of a hot weather, we decided that maybe it was possible to ask for some ice from the bar for our refreshments/juices. The same guy again didn’t entertain our request but instead told us that he cannot give us at least a bucket of ice and if we wanted to, we can drive to blairgowrie to buy our own - this was at 2100. As much as we asked nicely, the guy ended up giving us 2 pints full of ice and wouldn’t give anymore. To add on to this, the space in the rooms I wouldn’t complain about. However, the state of their rooms are shocking, especially in this time of pandemic. You’d expect the room will be cleaned spotless, but instead, all we found on the wall are spiderwebs and all sort of insects roaming around the room. The sink in the toilets are also dirty. The beds and the linen weren’t the best either. Also, the free breakfast given in the morning. Yes, it is free but doesn’t mean that you should serve such small portions to your guests. You don’t really charge small amount for the room either so I think an adequate amount of food wouldn’t hurt your business. However, the ladies that served us during breakfast are all fantastic and friendly. The hospitality they have shown us really have made up for how the guy staff treated us the night before.

We stayed here for one night last week. The Bridge of Cally Hotel is in a very rural location so don't expect anything else here but is a perfect location if you are yearning for peace and quiet. After a stressful couple of days, I found this hotel delightful. The setting is beautiful - an elevated small patio area leads done to a lovely garden area with access to the river, however, the best walk is on the other side so you need to walk to the post office (next door) and there is an access gate there. The hotel is slowly going through redecoration and it has been done beautifully and in a contemporary Scottish style. The restaurant area overlooks the garden while the breakfast room overlooks the road. The bar has a large fire which must be delightful in winter, and a small lounge area at the end. We were upgraded from a twin to a double bedroom and it was lovely. There was no view from the window but it was clean and extremely well styled and decorated. The bathroom had a bath with shower which was hot and powerful with toiletries supplied if needed. The staff worked tirelessly. There were only three (one was the manager) and they had to contend with a full restaurant and bar service. They had only been open for a week after being closed for months due to covid so only had a skeleton crew but we could not fault their hard work and professionalism. The restaurant menu isn't extensive but there is enough choice but I did feel it was a little overpriced for what we got. A mixed grill should comprise more than a small steak, a small piece of butterfly chicken breast, a sausage and rasher of bacon, However, we could not fault the breakfast which was included in our room rate. The menu was inventive and offered a good range of items. Check in is at 3pm but we had to wait for the hotel to reopen after closing at 2pm after lunchtime service, but the barman found us waiting and opened up and let us in to get a drink while he got things set up which was lovely. As rules in Scotland are different to England, you have to book the restaurant on arrival to ensure you get a table. We weren't able to eat until almost 8pm but the lovely location and fully-stocked bar kept us going and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves while waiting. I booked this hotel without my partner viewing it and on arrival, he was disappointed that it was out of town and had nothing to do but he soon realised what a lovely hotel it was as the service, the room and the surroundings were exceptional. If we are in the area again, we won't hesitate to stay here again.

We enjoyed our visit here and had a good stay. The restaurant is very nice but the prices are a little on the expensive side. We chose fish and chips with mushy peas. It tasted nice and was well presented and prompt service. However for £17.50 the portion sizes were very modest. I thoroughly enjoyed the Tarte aux pommels dessert. Service was very good by the young lad Gareth although he did go on a fair bit about the hotels owners and manager a fair bit We ordered our food soul of the day then steak, I ordered the haggis black pudding stack and tried to order Shin of beef was good that would be another 3 hours cooking so opted for the venison casserole and unfortunately there was none available. No venison in Scotland really My third choice Waggu burger My fellow traveller meal came a very small bowl of soul with a small bread roll. This i was told was tasty. My starter came to say it was a stack of haggis and black pudding was an absolute lie The piece of haggis about 1cm thick the black pudding half of this was topped with an Apple crisp covered in a tasteless sauce. We paid £5.95 for the soul and£7.99 for the haggis Yes I know they are starters but tiny portions Whilst I was enjoying my haggis my fellow trackers main came Rib eye of steak this came with 4 baby tomatoes on the fine 2 onion rings and little mushrooms and 10 chunky chips, he also asked for a side order of veg and what came was a joke No more than a serving spoonful of veg. This again tasted nice but at £27.95 I felt a bit much My main eventually turned up as my fellow trackers was finishing his off. The saggy beef burger came on a crisper up hun a bit charred but tasty this was served with 10 chips something described as salad bit lettuce bits of dried cucumber some scraping of carrot and a small spoonful of colslaw costing £16.95

From the moment we arrived the girl Suzanne behind the bar and working the Restaurant couldn’t have been any more accommodating, our food in the Restaurant was superb, our room was lovely and when sat in the bar after dinner met a lovely couple with which later on had a lovely chat with the owner. The owner Mike took time to chat with us telling us the history of how him and his partner aspired to creating his hotel group which as a Hotelier I found most interesting, a lovely chap who deserves to be where he is today. When the plate arrived I must say that the plate was an average dish of scampi nothing special and certainly not worth the money. The tartar sauce was very nice but there was more of that than there was of the scampi! I don't think we will be returning to eat there again and thats a shame as we've been there many times before and the food was always very good and value for money, maybe we just made the wrong choice this time. we have visited this place for about 14 years and been happy with it but our latest visit on 28th Feb was a real disappointment.Extremely lax service, dining area very cold, food below average.as mentioned in a previous review staff werechatting loudly in the bar,we arrived at midday and a girl was trying to light the open fire which want going to give out much heat till about tea time.my burger was quite good,my partners scampi and chips were undercooked as were the peas that came with it. We had one course and 2 drinks each, bill was £45.I went to pay at the bar, girl behind the bar was dealing with a customer by phone, another member of staff was having her lunch at the bar and said nothing to me,perhaps she could have dealt with the bill so I wouldn't have had to wait. The poor standard on this visit made us wonder if the place had new owners who hadn't quite got their act together. We pass this way at this time every year, next year we will be passing and looking for somewhere better.

made a special visit for what we thought would be a nice meal and it was terrible staff chatted loudly to eachother , bickering on phone about customer deals ",if they not happy too bad "main complaint was the coldness of the dining room , a long wait between courses even though practically empy ,staff slow ,due to chatting behind the bar ,and also the food was all dried up like it had sat under a grill ,also cranachan had 2 grapes in it no raspberries to be seen , bit of old cake in it and what was like strawberry whip mixed in ,i was actually sick during the night with it . i didnt complain at the time as i was being taken out ,and my meal was being paid for ,but on chatting later found my company to feel the same way but he was just being polite , never again ! and only recomendation here is to avoid and not waste your money ,

We stopped for a late lunch . My family and I walked in past a young lady who was far more interested in her computer and directed through the bar to the eating area. In the bar we made our way past two gentlemen and a large bull mastif/wolf cross lying sleeping on the floor. We asked what the soup of the day was. we were told tomato and country veg .we asked for tomato..we got. .tomato AND country veg . in one bowl. We reckon it was a tin of tomatoes with some veg thrown in. The bread was more like cake ,sweet and crumbly. It was designed to destroy itself when we tried to apply the hard frozen butter ..And the cost of two soups and two drinks ..£15 ....yes you read correctly .almost five pounds per soup.Take my advice. .press on to Blairgowrie

After a long day walking in the Hills, we stumbled upon this place for dinner. The food was decent, but not startling. For two hungry guys it was fine, but in another situation it would be not so welcoming.Staff were helpful to a degree, but spending time talking loudly to their friends does not give a sense of professionalism in the restaurant anyway. It was was quite costly, and not so far North there there are no other options nearby, or within 30mins of a drive. (an average 1-plate was 16.95.. sure there were cheaper at 12, but there was more expensive also, so 16, was an average,Overall I wrate this place average, it did nothing to make it special.. so it gets a 3 an average.

We had Steak & Ale Pie with Chips and veg.It was tasty, but it was basically a small dish of Beef and Gravy with a pie crust on top.I only enjoyed it because I added Tobasco Sauce to it.I had to eat snacks later on because I was still hungry.

This hotel looks very appealing from the outside and did not disappoint inside. It was warm and comfortable and the staff were very welcoming. We had dinner in the restaurant one evening and it was very enjoyable. Well worth a visit.

We hiked the Cateran Trail from Blairgowrie to the Bridge of Calley and had lunch here. The food was excellent, reasonably priced, and served in a comfortable, charming dining room by a cheerful staff. It was a perfect ending to a lovely walk.

After a 15 mile hike and 5 Munros we were ready for a decent bit of grub and having eaten at the Bridge of Cally previously decided to head there again. We were not disappointed, despite being a Saturday evening and not having booked we were able to get a table without trouble, although that is not to say it wasn't busy because it was.The service was pretty decent with several people looking after us throughout our meal. We were seated quickly and our drinks and food order taken promptly. There was a reasonable wait for food to arrive but nothing outrageous and a sign that things were being prepared freshly. The service was not overly attentive though but neither were we ignored but perhaps a bit more interest could have been shown in whether we needed drinks top ups or if the food was satisfactory. Nothing bad though.I have to say that everything that I saw coming form the kitchen looked pretty good and the menu had a lot of choice. I heard a few guests saying how nice their meal was too.One small complaint was that I ordered the steak and ale pie. This was really tasty but the "puff" pastry lacked any puff and had not risen at all. It looked a bit like pita bread. It didn't ruin the meal but wasn't great and when I drew it to the attention of the waitress at the end of the meal (no-one asked while we were eating) the reply was a bit defensive rather than apologetic. not a big concern but perhaps greater attention to detail is required as the food is not exactly cheap (not overly dear either though for, on the whole, good quality fayre.I'd be happy to return and may have gone to 5 stars with a little more care.

Room was clean and cosy, bed was very comfortable, the bath was a welcomed addition to the ensuite after walking all day. Staff all friendly. Drinks and food slightly on the expensive side I felt with 2 sandwiches and soft drinks at £18 and a glass of wine n pint at £10. Lots of choice at breakfast. Would stay over again.

Passing by we were starving when we found this spot. The fib looked great in the bar area. Did notice they were slightly understaffed. The waitress seemed to struggle with the dining area, and it was not busy so I can only assume they had not expected the ‘rush’ of 5 tables. The food was average and the drinks toll almost as long as the food.I would stop in the bar on a wet, snowy day, but dinner, not again.

It was a cold and wet night so we decided to have a meal out and enjoy ourselves our mistake was in trying the Bridge of Cally when we phoned to book a table for six people for 7 pm they told us that it would be better if we arrived after 7-45 which we did. We waited in the bar area and after ten minutes a young lady asked if we booked a table we said we had and she showed us to a table and left 20 minuees later she came back and asked if we would like to order we replied that we would like to see the menu and could we also orders some drinks, she was surpised that we had not already been given menus and been asked if we require drinks. She took our drinks order and gave out the menus. About 10 minutes passed and the drinks arrived and we ordered our meals at 8-55 the first courses arrived the salads looked tired and had been prepared for some time not good a good start to the meal the main course I had ordered was haddock and chips with peas you can not go wrong with this meal how wrong I was it arrived last of the six meals on our table and we did not see the waitress again so I could not ask her to take it back as the chips and peas were cold in fact I am not sure if the peas had ever been warm or just defrosted and the fish was also wet and cold the batter soft and more like a pancake wrapped round a fish. mine was not the only poor meal of the six main courses only the venison and the deep fried cheese bites were enjoyed we could not order any coffees as there was nobody to ask . We had to pay the bill over the bar. This is one restaurant I will not be going back to poor service poor food and no welcome feeling .
