High street location. Fast service.

As the deer pants for the vodka,, ach aye its aiight but decor is a bit overlook hotel. Plenty of circle turnage space for handbraking prams about.

We went in to have lunch. Met with “ table for 2, sit over there at 4” . We duly sat down. Ok. Food and drink. We had a tuna and red onion baguette and the cranberry, Brie and grape tart which came with salad and crisps, a cappuccino, a black coffee and a glass of water. The Cappuccino was ok, the black coffee ( filter coffee) came in the smallest cup I’ve seen in a cafe. Asked for a refill and was charged again. Food. The tart was ok but only taste was the cranberry, and the baguette was almost acceptable. The salad was just some shredded iceberg lettuce, one wedge of tomato, a slice of cucumber will some cheap plain crisps. Not value for money. Will not return.

Visited here recently. Do NOT believe any website as the prices are so old. Think this is called false advertising. On drawing attention to this the waitress was very defensive. We know prices have shot up but this is still false advertising. We would have been cheaper staying at our hotel for breakfast. Anyway we ordered 2 brown rolls. Hubby had bacon which had obviously been lying for a while as it was dried up as was the roll. Mine was just as dry so no surprises that we won’t be back.

Excellent friendly service with a good range of choice whether just a coffee and cake or something a bit more substantial.

We went as carers with some of the people we support. Cakes and coffees were good but staff were very rude to us when we wanted to see what the cakes at the counter were they kept on pushing us to move and staring at us like we came from mars. This was difficult as it doesn’t say the cakes in the menu or have any signs saying what the cakes are and they acted like we were a inconvenience when we were asking about what types of cakes there are. They don’t seem accommodating at all to disabled people. They were nice and laughing when we paid but only then. Quite disappointing and wouldn’t recommend going.

After my recent. I was most shocked to read the recent review stating that staff are miserable. This could not be further from the truth. I was served by a lovely young gentleman who resembled a Brunette Ken Doll with the most gorgeous eyes. The atmosphere created by the staff is homely and welcoming, on my next visit to Broughty Ferry I will most certainly be making a visit to this lovely cafe.

The most delightfully cheesy macaroni cheese!

The place looks lovely from the outside, so I was looking forward to eating there. I ordered a breakfast, but sadly the bacon and the mushrooms looked like they were deep fried. The mushrooms were like sponges full of fat and were not edible at all. The bacon was so thin, rock hard, very greasy and completely tasteless. The fried eggs were okay. What a disappointment. It’s an huge insult to the customer to serve food that’s so bad. I don’t normally write reviews, but I’m writing this in hope that they see it, so that the cook can do something about it moving forwards. Oh a good note, the coffee was lovely and so was the toast!

This was our first time visiting Willows even though we've been to Broughty Ferry a couple of times. Waited to be seated, waited to be served, slightly unfriendly staff. Delicious fruit scone and 2 refreshing cups of tea. Very clean toilets. We were charged £10.90. For 2 cups of tea & a fruit scone. WOW.

After a bad experience in Costa, my wife Shelia and I visited here the other week on a visit to some relatives in Scotland. The home made soup was delicious, Shelia actually ordered a second helping. The service was exceptional and young gentleman who looked after us really made our visit special. It’s nice to feel homely and welcomed when you are so far from home. We also had a panini before we went and explored Broughty Ferry Castle.

Was ok. Wouldn't revisit. Didn't get food as it was overpriced.

Love visiting Willows. Great choice and good, fresh food. A wee bit pricey but that's our choice. Would highly recommend.

Went for lunch with the family. Table of 4. Waited 5 minutes to be seated as it was busy. So no problem with that. Shown to a table and given menus. Then that was that. No one came to serve us. Another table of two came in. Shown to their table. Then another table of two came in and shown to their table also. They both got served. Promptly. Drinks and food ordered by them both, but, no one came to us!! Waited patiently. But still no service. Tried flagging someone but nobody was interested. So we left and went else where.

Disappointed overall ! Very slow to take our order whilst very few customers. Waitress approached our table and with only a look as if to ask what we wanted! When our pot of tea arrived I immediately noticed the teacup was stained, this was replaced with a mug which was also dirty inside. My husband took it to the person behind the counter and she commented “they all been through the dishwasher! The condiments were dirty and sticky as was the table. The table number holder was Filthy! Our food thankfully was nice. There was not a great choice of cakes etc and absolutely No customer care.

Really disappointing experience. Only vegan option was mint and pea soup, no oat milk, cups and glasses are tiny and as for the kids menu....£3.50 for 1 slice of bread with tuna and half a dozen crisps, photo is exactly as it came...vastly overpriced for the rest of the menu and portion sizes are tiny.

Excellent food, good for the kids, not too expensive.

This was my second visit, first visit was about six months ago. This visit will be the last. The breakfast seemed as if it was all deep fried. The sausage was very hard, the bacon and mushrooms also had the same taste. I couldn’t eat the bacon or the sausage it was just to hard for me. I left gingery and given it’s not cheap I wasn’t happy. The staff were nice and helpful which was the only positive.

A pleasant cafe to spend time in either on your own or with friends.

Breakfast very good, piping hot, expertly cooked, good ingredients thick bacon and tasty sausages and eggs. Good choices for breakfast to suit all tastes. Wahoo! Decent filter coffee not bitter espresso machine. Friendly staff although you could have let us in out of the cold five minutes early, opens at 9:00AM, website says 08:30, sack your IT manager has-ha.

Have been a few times for breakfast rolls. Seems to have gone downhill. The sausages were overdone and the bacon was two tiny rashers on a roll, it looked very measly and tasted dry and like it had been sitting for ages. Won't be back I'm afraid

In spite of the place being quiet neither of the two staff acknowledged our arrival. Stood by the notice that says ‘Please wait to be seated’ After a couple of minutes standing there like a ‘Keep left’ sign we made our way to a vacant table by the window. After several more minutes - female behind the counter grinding coffee / male ‘busy’ sorting cutlery - both saw us but still no service. We decided to give up and rose to leave. Won’t be back! 🤬🤬

Fast service, decent food, fantastic price.

Was OK food but, one cook was without there apron or disposable gloves and I saw them wipe there lower face on there t-shirt and not go to rinse there hands at the sink I could see, they also went from handling g slices of cold meats to the salad tub with just bare hands, just needs to remember in future to use apron and gloves and wash hands between handling different food types.

Today me and my husband and a friend first time in broughty ferry it food was amazing service was quick one of the mammber of staff with long red hair she wasn't very nice she never smiled she dropped my husband knife in his knee she never said sorry never even asked if we wonted sauces nothing Food is really amazing ..very busy. . I would recommend the food 😋

I use Willows a lot, friendly staff, nice coffee, my favourite is the Stornoway black pudding on muffin with poached egg.

The staff need training. They lack confidence in what they are doing and have no basic skills in service. A shame. The coffee is bad. Food basic. Across the road much better, warm welcome, very attentive and happy staff.

I used to like going there but just yesterday I had a slice of Victoria sponge cake and could not believe the size of it. It is 2/3 smaller! If you want to pay too much for a small size of cake...that is the place to go.

Delicious lunch with my Mum today. Everything from paninis, jacket potatoes, breakfast menu and fancy cakes. Willows is known as a cosy, welcoming cafe, popular with families and mum's/babies. It was busy today but the staff were cheerful, attentive and still had a fast service for the lunch time rushes. I'd not been in for years and was glad we made a stop today. Good lunch, good variety and price, we'll be back 5*

The attitude of the staff was atrocious everyone herded into one half of cafe which was very busy was told to go to a specific table and when I asked to go to another table they weren't happy food and drink plonked on the table .

Had a nice lunch at this delightful little cafe in Broughty Ferry, Dundee.

First and last visit rolled into one. Cheap ingredients, ridiculously overpriced, staff seemed miserable and the atmosphere was very awkward. Won’t be returning or recommending to anyone.

To say we were disappointed with our lunch would be an understatement. Cheapest of the cheap ingredients eg burger ,scampi and cardboard fries accompanied by watery sauces and flat Pepsi in small glasses. No sign of even a salad garnish in sight.! Service was good. We won't be back.

The food was very basic and no taste, too much salt and mustard. Overpriced

Nice friendly local coffee shop with good service. Food was fantastic, can heartily recommend the Stornoway Black Pudding with Eggs. Really tasty. Bacon also great.

3 Baked Potatoes ordered - doubt if any baking took place, suspect microwaved then left to sit as all 3 potatoes were barely warm...they were served with a tiny salad and a teaspoon of coleslaw...£7.25! Last time I visited I had watered down soup, a half filled sandwich on cheap brown bread. Sorry to say I will never go back here.

I went for lunch today with family and friends, we all got baked potatoes. All i can say is they were microwaved - not baked, and as if that wasnt disappointing enough, all 3 potatoes were luke warm. Certainly not worth the money! There are lots of cafes, restaurants and pubs in the area....my advice would be to go to one of them.

Amazing wee coffee shop that we came across on a walk into Broughty Ferry. Staff are helpful. Food is excellent especially the Bacon, Brie and |Cranberry Panini. Has become a regular stopping point when we are in the area. Very family friendly

I will try everywhere else in the ferry before I come here. Consistently poor service - slow, rude, always made to feel as if you’re in the way. No one smiles, staff look as if they’d rather be anywhere else.

Spacious corner cafe, good food. I had delicious bean burger and chips washed down with a large diet pepsi for £11. Attentive, friendly staff. Simple and clean decor. Thoroughly recommend.

The soup was like water unfortunately usually alot thicker and better

my first breakfast at willows as i was down in broughty early morning for a car service so had time to kill and get out the cold......i was not disappointed but impressed.........beautifully cooked and presented washed down with a coffee.

Great place for a cooked breakfast, good quality ingredients and they have filter coffee, yippee! Cannot drink coffee out of an espresso machine too bitter. Very reasonable price considering the quality of the sausages black pudding etc. Busy place popular with the local retired ladies who lunch, always a good sign.

We visited for a coffee and cake at lunchtime on a Tuesday. It was absolutely heaving. We had to wait just a few minutes for a table which was fine. The coffee was very good and the tiffin slice was probably the best one I've ever had. We had to wait quite a while to order and then for our food but it was busy so the wait was understandable. The staff were brilliant - very polite, friendly and attentive. I'll definitely be back 👍

Came in for breakfast, got parked opposite 11am, had the king breakfast 9.50 2 sausage 2 bacon,fried egg, Stornoway black pudding hash brown mushrooms and beans 4 half slices of toast with ample butter and jam portions, had Americano coffee with cold milk, 50p extra, cleared the plate enjoyed it and would go back, clean and tidy inside toilets were clean,and service was good.

We went out for a bite this weekend but unfortunately our usual place was full so we decided to give Willows a try. This ended up being a big mistake with rude staff and and very flavourless food. I understand this reflects on their price but I'll never be back. Try across the road where the food is 100% more enjoyable.

We just had a toasted cheese sandwich and a cheese and tuna panini with two cups of tea for lunch. The food was good and service ok and quick, but not cheap at £17.10.

You don't need face masks now but I still use one. You wait to be seated and its efficient. If you go in about 11isham the manageress comes and tells you you've to be out by noon as it's busy. She can be abrupt.

A fantastic coffee shop which I used for breakfast three times during a weekend stay nearby. A warm, friendly welcome and excellent service with a smile, the breakfast was freshly cooked, an excellent quality and really good value for money. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this place for breakfast and although I didn't eat any of the cakes on offer they looked absolutely wonderful. I hope I'll be able to visit again in the future.

I am a resident of Broughty Ferry who had an Australian friend visiting, took him to Willows for an early morning coffee and was greeted by a rude, brusk and very unfriendly welcome. The girl that took our order was surly and uninterested, the Danish...

Went today for the first time and fair to say I won’t be back. First of all we got drinks, a small vimto a small milkshake and a fruit shoot, all I’m gonna say is the fruit shoot was bigger than both of our drinks we then ordered kids macaroni and asked the woman what it came with and she said it comes with toast.. never heard of that in my life then there was no kids deals either so it cost around £7 for some chips and juice ontop of this. We then wanted a chicken mayo panini to be told they don’t do that but can give her chicken and mayo on the side? I’ve worked in hospitality most of my life and it could have taken them two minutes to put it in a bowl and mix it so she choose the sweet chilli chicken panini instead and she couldn’t even eat it because of how it tasted i then ordered macaroni and for £9 I expected a decent size meal and was disappointed macaroni was bland they gave you hardly any chips and salad and overall was just an awful meal, I only ate it because I was starving. I then go to the counter to pay and the girl asks me if everything was okay and I replied very boldly ‘it was alright’ she did not even ask if there was anything wrong with the food just stood back and waited for the card payment to authorise, if I was asked what was wrong it could have been sorted. Never again.

This place does not take bookings which meant we were able to get a table on a busy Saturday. The staff are exceptionally helpful, service was quick and efficient, the food was straightforward and good vlaue

Popped in for a cuppa and cake. Lovely homemade carrot cake, millionaire shortbread, pot of tea and americano all for less than a tenner. The service was quick and the staff friendly. I also noticed how thorough the tables and chairs were cleaned when vacated. Good to see this.

Best breakfast with quality products such as Stornoway Black Pudding. Good size portions. Comparative price. Good Service. I scored 4/5 stars as decor a bit dated and could do with modernising and refreshing but will go back again and would recommend other people to try.

Excellent food, good value, and a warm atmosphere. Would advise booking ahead for larger groups as they weren't able to accommodate our party of seven. Also, the service on our final round of tea and coffee was very slow. Would still recommend though, because the food was very good indeed.

Busy on the day we visited for lunch, but the food was great and we got seated straight away. Staff were friendly an overall great experience and worth a visit.

First impressions last. Tables were sticky and grubby. Notices were laminated but dirty and crockery dirty. Small things easy to resolve but easy to detract from overall impression.

Love the Willows, it's become an annual thing for myself and two mates to have breakfast here. Chilled laid back proper Scottish breakie.

Just popped in for a COVID safe Sunday brunch with my partner. Lovely service and great food (Stornoway black pudding and poached eggs on a toasted crumpet) as usual. Followed by a short walk along Brook Street to Broughty Ferry beach.
