Plockton Inn in Highland

Première surprise : plats commandés 24h en avance. Manque de personnel en cuisine ? Difficultés d’approvisionnement des différents ingrédients ? Malgré des avis positifs sur tripadvisor, je vous recommande d’éviter ce restaurant si vous avez une langue et un palais fonctionnels. Le burger, véritable madeleine de Proust, m’a remémoré les meilleurs steak hachés en plastique du restaurant universitaire de la faculté de médecine de la Timone. Le pain à burger, servit froid, est si sec qu’il faudra prévoir un tube de vaseline pour pouvoir l’avaler. Mon voisin aura commandé un saumon qui n’a probablement jamais vu la mer de sa vie. En accompagnement une salade issue d’un sachet Liddle dont vous pourrez retrouvé un exemplaire plus copieux à la carte sous le nom de « vegetable salad ». Pour finir d’autres convives ont commandé du colin qui lui, à défaut d’avoir mauvais goût, n’avait pas de goût du tout. Je comprends la cause vegan quand je pense aux animaux morts pour être servis dans cet horrible restaurant . En bref si vous souhaitez bien manger dans le petit village de Plockton, je vous recommande de vous orientez vers d’autres restaurateurs.

Really enjoyed pur stay at the Plockton Inn. A great room and fabulous decor with a funky twist yet inkeeping with the surrounding landscape. Great food too.

Stayed here last year and enjoyed our stay so returned. Again very comfortable, friendly staff and excellent food. We will return again!

Could not fault our 2 night break in March. Staff were friendly and welcoming, our dog was treated like a VIP, local beer was delicious, food excellent, room comfortable and locals and fellow guests were friendly and entertaining. The scenery was wonderful with great walks from the doorstep and even the weather was good.

Lovely comfortable rooms, beautifully decorated with real attention to detail. Cleverly done as whole hotel modernised, immaculately clean but authentic feel. Staff obviously care and were very friendly. Dinner was a surprise, really top quality. The apple crumble was the best we have ever had. We had a lively time exploring Plockton and Raasay in a cold, windy but bright two days in February. The ferry from Sconsor was only 40 mins away. We will definitely come back.

We spent new year at The Plockton Inn ,staff went out of there way to make the 3 nights we were there comfortable and fun food was excellent the music on New Year’s Eve was the best looking forward to our next visit.

Our stay at the Plockton Inn was the best of our trip through the Highlands. The design of the rooms were great. You can tell there was significant care put into renovations. The beds were comfortable and everything was clean. We loved that our family room had its own garden. We had dinner and breakfast at the restaurant. The dinner was lovely. The drinks were fabulous and the food delicious. We had great service and recommendations from the waitstaff. The breakfast was also delicious. Staying in Plockton was kind of random, but we are so glad to have gone. The town is gorgeous. In the months since our trip our whole group said Plockton was our best night.

The Plockton Hotel is a fantastic hotel, great staff and great restaurant. We stayed two nights and had the wheelchair accessible room which was excellent. The only criticism was that the bed was too large for the room which made moving around a little difficult. But still a fantastic place to stay and eat. Probably needs a steak on the menu for people who do not like seafood.

Had another amazing meal in the Plockton Inn last night. The food was so tasty and beautifully presented and the service was spot on from the lovely Debs and Ian behind the bar. Love the new decor in the former lounge ❤️

Nice cozy place for some nice food. They had some fancy dishes but at reasonable prices. I had the duck and it was very good. The staff was lovely.

We ate here on consecutive nights - food on the second was better than the first. Portions were smaller than elsewhere as well as more expensive, but still pretty good (and there seems to be little choice in the area). Service was OK. Very busy restaurant though where booking in advance is recommended.

Great visit to the Plockton Inn. Really well presented accomodation in picturesque village. Had a lovely evening meal. Mussels were superb and slow roasted lamb also excellent. Da Milano alle Hightlands una piacevole sorpresa. Ottimo cibo, personale gentile ed accogliente. Persino un buon espresso.

We stayed in the hotel and also booked dinner there (breakfast was included with our stay). All the dishes on the menu including the specials looked amazing. It was hard to choose. Then again, any choice would have been excellent, I’m sure. Very friendly service. Breakfast was nice as well. We can also recommend a stay at the hotel, very lovely room. So overall we had a great experience!

Arrived and were taken to our table, service was excellent! The four us all agreed the food was superb. I had mussels followed scallops and pork belly, which was really very good!

First visit since their renovation, enjoyed the new look in the bar and the restaurant. It now has a more upmarket seaside feel but not ostentatious in anyway. The restaurant is now a comfortable relaxing space. Service was extremely personable but was quite slow, however you have to factor in its August and the place is super busy. Loved the range of specials, appreciated that they are trying to offer a few different dishes and flavours from the typical menus. Wine list was pretty good too, and thankfully not that expensive. All the food was well executed and flavoursome, great cookery on the fish. Would be delighted to visit again.

Het is een prima hotel en geschikt als uitvalsbasis om het eiland Skye te bezoeken. Wij hadden een gezellig kamer in het hoofdgebouw, naast de achteringang. Het eten was lekker, maar duur; £35 voor een steak met frites en de drankjes héél duur: £18 voor een pint Guinness en een - weliswaar groot - glas witte wijn.

I really enjoyed the inn and the restaurant. We were in room six which was the highest one and a little bit tight for space. I could see in other rooms and they had much more floor space, and even desks. We had small suitcases, and can only open one on the floor at any given time. I was able to fit mine in the wardrobe, and my husband had to open his on the bed and then close it to put it at the side of the bed. Again, other rooms seem larger. The room had character in a lovely shower. The breakfast was excellent and I highly recommend the smoked fish plate. The restaurant was quite nice in the evening, although we didn't get Langostinos either night – fishing issues. The staff was very nice and the town was darling.

Delicious lunch and friendly staff made this a very pleasant experience. Our sandwiches were excellent and we look forward to sampling their evening seafood menu.

Back after the Inns upgrade. Food was excellent but watch out for the wine........extortionate £31 for a bog standard pino available in the shop for £6. That's some mark up. Would definately return but have a pint rather than wine.

Stayed here as I'd heard good things from colleagues about the accommodation and the food, and wasn't let down. Rooms are very clean and surprisingly spacious. The breakfast was tremendous, and fresh seafood for dinner well worth the trip alone. Would recommend.

We had a very nice evening meal here and took full advantage of the wonderful local seafood on offer, including king scallops, langoustines, monkfish and haddock. Very friendly and efficient service too. It's a tad pricey but the food is very good.
