Visitamos aquí en familia un domingo sin reserva previa, ya que estábamos en la zona. Estaba muy ocupado, pero el personal era muy servicial en encajarnos. Mi marido y mis hijos tenían hamburguesas, que todos disfrutaron. Tuve el asado del domingo y honestamente puedo decir que es una de las mejores cenas de asado que he tenido. Soy muy quisquilloso cuando se trata de carne, pero esto fue cocinado a la perfección y estaba tan delicioso! Sin duda volveremos si estamos en la zona de nuevo!

Could not go as hotel closed & I was not advised!! I could not get booked anywhere late notice!!! So I missed a family party, very poor communication

Received a voucher as an anniversary gift in December. Table booked this afternoon for 5.30 this evening without issue. Very quiet. It's years since I've been in the Woodpecker. The decor is "different". A bit steam punk meets contemporary with sheet steel table tops. Very clean and tidy. Our waiter was friendly, polite and efficient.🤗 We ordered drinks whilst we looked at the menu. There are two menus. A pre-theatre menu and an a la carte menu. We ordered off the a la carte. Hubby ordered the scallops with black pudding crumb and puréed cauliflower. The scallops were cooked to perfection and melted in the mouth. The purée was lovely too. I didn't get to taste the black pudding, hubby too fast for me. Cleaned the plate. I had the tempura king prawns with rocket and the sweet chilli dip on the side as requested. The prawns tasted lovely in the light tempura batter but were quite tough to chew. Would prefer them cooked from fresh and this would have resulted in a softer prawns. This didn't affect the over all taste. For the main hubby ordered a huge burger and fries. The brioche bun was bursting at the seams. A thick tomato sauce topped with beef tomato slices, lettuce, cheese and a burger which was well cooked, juicy and very tasty. The fries were light and crispy. The best for a long time. Another clean plate. I had the macaroni cheese with bacon and fries. The macaroni was served in a mini cooking skillet which did keep it very warm. The macaroni was tasty but very dry with the sauce congealed around the pasta. I prefer mine with more sauce. Crispy bacon pieces were sprinkled on top with spring onions and parmesan cheese. Again the flavours were lovely but would rethink serving in the skillet as food continues to cook in these. Everything was piping hot including the plates which was a nice touch. We ordered a sweet and a hot drink to finish but we should have stopped after the mains.😳 We left fit to burst which we will remember when we return...and return we will. Overall a great meal. A few tweaks needed but wouldn't put us off going back. Should go and try for yourselves 🤗

Knowledgeable and friendly staff providing well cooked and presented food from a short enough menu to ensure fresh cooking throughout. Lemon tart with blueberry coulis was a standout and all With the best 180 views in the town.

Algunos de los empleados del bar son lentos como Fook, es un bar ocupado concedido, pero 30 minutos de espera para 2 bebidas con tanto personal en es pish La comida es buena, el ambiente es decente.

Pasé por aquí para tomar un aperitivo en una tarde fría y lluviosa. Bravo a que estuvieran abiertos, ya que encontramos Stirling como un todo desierto el día que estuvimos allí con no mucho abierto y no era un día festivo, así que no estoy seguro de eso. Estábamos felices de encontrar un lugar para tomar un bocado para comer. Tenía un bollo y un capuchino muy bueno. Mi hijo se decidió por un batido y pensó que era tan bueno que tenía que tener otro antes de irnos. Dijo que era el mejor batido que había tenido. Era chocolate, por cierto. El personal era muy agradable, como pedimos desde la mesa y aparentemente se suponía que íbamos a pedir en el mostrador, pagar y luego sentarse. No nos dimos cuenta y nos trajeron nuestra comida de todos modos. Cuando nos dimos cuenta de nuestro error, nos disculpamos. Era un pequeño lugar encantador y nos volveríamos a pasar de nuevo si estuviéramos en la zona.

Vino por una pinta y un bocado. Guinness estaba bien, pero pidió una hamburguesa, que era fantástico. Mucho más grande de lo que pensé que sería, pero era encantador. Gran hamburguesa y precios razonables.

Lovely welcome for our family on a walk - 10 adults and 2 kids and staff super friendly. Very tasty tea cakes , scones, chips and cake. Everything looked delicious and a great setting.

Stopped off here for lunch . The food was great and the coffee and cake excellent . It’s clean and the service was efficient. Just what we needed before a long drive up the West Coast .

Went for lunch but the place was closed. No sign at the end of the road to say so. It looks as if it could be closed for quite a while yet. Very disappointing. Signs to say closed and for how long at the end of the road would be helpful.

El personal aquí es maravilloso - gran servicio, muy atento y trabajando a un nivel muy alto. La comida es muy sabrosa y muy bien presentada. El ambiente en el restaurante era cálido y cómodo. Excelente relación calidad-precio. Gracias al equipo por la mejor experiencia gastronómica que hemos tenido en siglos.

Vino aquí para tomar café y pastel mientras paseaba por Stockbridge con nuestro hijo de 4 años. Muy ocupado, y acogedor entorno. Personal atento. Gran selección de productos horneados, y buen menú para almuerzos ligeros, etc. Lo recomendaría!

So 1st and last time visitor ! Was recommended to me so made a trip for lunch. Ordered soup which both came luke warm so requested that they be warmed up to eating temperature. Take 2 on return one was slightly warmer the other still luke warm. As am not one for take 3 spoke with staff to ask if I could pay as decided to go elsewhere, no charge (not eaten) but the soup "apparently" take a while to heat !! Offered to heat "again" but thought after 2 attempts, not. It should be good to go from the off otherwise why serve cool soup. A less than satisfactory experience and to be honest not a great ambiance, my wife thought seating was uncomfortable. Sorry but that's how we found the place 😐
