Five of us went for a birthday meal today. We just love the place the staff are so friendly and helpful. The atmosphere and food never ever miss the mark,it is the best pizza in town by far.I highly recommend a visit
Impromptu night out for a few cocktails to finish off the weekend. Member of staff behind the bar & the chef were very welcoming and pleasant. Thoroughly enjoyed our cocktails and nachos.
My wife and I visited with two other couples after a riverside walk, initially for a drink and then we ordered food.
The bar is quite small but recently and well renovated, and with a welcoming vibe from staff and regulars alike.
Food is very reasonably priced, and was well received: two steak pies were tasty, but could have been improved if served with more gravy; three fish and chips were also tasty, but irregularly cooked; the veg tart was delicious. Apple crumble desserts were really enjoyed and appreciated.
Nice part of Spital, and privately quiet in old Aberdeen, it has an upstairs bar for privacy too, nice old school royal green surgical 💚 leather seating against the walls too.
Fantastic meal and very reasonably priced. Lovely little touches to make the experience extra special. Relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Will definitely be back.
Food took longer than Ayreats app stated. Actually stated food was ready and out for delivery 1 hour before it arrived. Missing Calzone when the food did actually arrive (had to call the store to find out where it was). Delivery driver stated she was not given it. Called store again to be told it was the deliver drivers fault she had given it to another customer. Store did not realise I could hear then talking when the phone had been put down to find out what happened and the excuses being made. Was sent another one taking another 30 minutes.
The food that had actually arrived was cold and tasteless. It actually all had to be thrown away. The Calzone arrived hot but due to this the food had stuck to the lid, ripping off leaving cardboard all over it as well as sticking to the bottom, not edible.
Contacted the store for a third time and asked for a least half a refund. Got the "Owner" on the phone stating he had the Ayreats Owners phone number and would contact him on Sunday to sort out less than half a refund.
Outcome don't bother with this store. The joke being I actually have used then 2 years ago and the food was decent.
We were back in Helensburgh after a 2 year gap and had to return to The Upper Crust, believing it couldn't be as good and fun as last time. We were not disappointed at all and had a great evening along with the other diners. It is quirky and different, and the food is excellent with a good choice on the menu and specials board.
The owners, Roger and Mary run it themselves, with Mary in the kitchen and Roger front of house. Roger is so entertaining and the whole experience is more than just a meal.
We are normally private people, just wanting to enjoy our own company, but have never been anywhere else where you relax so easily and end up talking with fellow diners - all down to Roger and his manner. None of us there that night wanted to leave, and we all stayed far longer than expected - again, all down to Roger and his great company. It was one of the best nights we've had in a long time and we'll be back as soon as we can!
Thank you Roger and Mary
My favourite place in Lerwick for coffee and a sweet. If you're here in Shetland, you MUST stop by and enjoy the friendly service, wonderful variety of things from Puffin Poo to ice cream. If I could, I would stop by more than I already do! From a member of the IL Coffee Club! 😁
Wonderful food and service with a homely atmosphere..Food and drink selection was fantastic and very reasonable prices.. Highly recommend and almost forgot to mention the beautiful arts and crafts for sale.
This cafe went above and beyond. Not only did I get chips and cheese with a coffee (after a 30mile bike ride) but I also managed to charge my phone and when I asked when the ferry was due got an up to the minute status
