Jazrose in Scottish Borders

This is as good as it gets, we arrived about 30 minutes before closing but that was no problem for them, no less than 4 (yes four) separate Gluten Free options of cake available, which is so rare, and all homemade and delicious looking too. The coffee was lovely and could easily be sold at twice the price, I got two generous cups out of my cafetière. Don’t go past…

Absolutely Gem hidden in Selkirk, we walked past it before we seen it, so glad we did see it. Best cafe we have been to in Selkirk by far. Lovely people. Even have little crafts etc too

Knowing we had a busy afternoon ahead of us my partner and I popped into Jazrose for a late breakfast /early lunch. We decided to have sandwiches. He had cheddar cheese with ploughman's pickle and I had the goat's cheese and grapes. Both on really nice thick brown bread (white bread is also available). The sandwiches came with a fair smattering of crisps and a lovely side salad. A glass of tap water rounded the meal off nicely. This cafe is owner operated and we always get a warm welcome and great service.

A wonderful welcome from the delightful people who run this independent cafe, accompanied by a friendly chat, a great cup of tea and home made cheese scone. It's so pleasant to find places that offer genuine 'hospitality' coupled with excellent products ... but that is very much the hallmark of businesses in the Scottish Borders!

I popped in for a light lunch and had a lovely bacon and mozzarella toastie, it was utterly delicious! The owners are friendly and welcoming. Selkirk is a lovely town and it is worth a visit!

Charming little café with lot's of homemade cakes and scones available.Just a quick cup of tea and scone which was homemade and came warmed,with butter and strawberry jam.My friend had the Bakewell tart which she said was delicious too.Lovely friendly staff and prompt service.

Ein herrlicher Ort zum Essen, Kaffe oder auch Frühstück zu späterer Stunde.... alles wird frisch zubereitet und mit ausgesuchter Freundlichkeit serviert. Wir waren zu sechst und bekamen alle gleichzeitig zu essen! Es war super gut, geschmackvoll und liebevoll angerichtet! Das Lokal ist angenehm eingerichtet und ein gemütliches Ambiente lädt herzlich dazu ein, wieder zu kommen!

On my first visit to Selkirk I was treated to a late breakfast. I had the toasted Selkirk Bannock served with a lovely jam. I enjoyed it so much that the next day I did the treating and we had lunch - cheese savoury sandwiches served with salad and potato crisps. The service is wonderful, everything is prepared to order and it is very reasonable priced. This will definitely be my go to cafe on my next visit.

Small local café with an excellent range of coffees and teas, something the proprietors are evidently passionate about. Service is reasonably prompt and always friendly. We have been here several times for a coffee - and even lunch - and always found a table. There are additional tables out the back. Recommended.

The best cheese scones in the UK. Worth travelling a long way to try.

I eat here quite a lot now I can’t fault it at all. I would recommend Soup, Baked Tatee, also Toasties. You can also if you don’t like like salad you can request not to have it and request what you like. I would rate 10/10 Staff 10/10 I will be back again 100%

Ordered a toasted sandwich serviced with a fresh salad and potato-chips which was very nice. Service was very slow and the coffee was a bit average

My partner and I had a late lunch here last month and we couldn't fault it. The produce really was first class and the lady owner provided fantastic service. I had a homemade cheese scone and it came with a small salad and crisps whilst my partner had a brie sandwich. Mine was lovely and he said his was really tasty too. I had a chocolate brownie for afters, which was served warm , and he had a slice of pecan pie and as he enjoyed it so much, I asked for a slice to take away for a treat as it was his birthday the day after ;) The owner and her husband were also very helpful when we inquired about places to eat that evening, really going the extra mile with their advice and directions. All-in-all, it is a very reasonably priced cafe with wonderful food and fantastic service and I hope to return one day.

Very nice indeed. Friendly service and clean with tasty food. The only slight downside was that they dont do chips as all i wanted was a bowl of chips. But the alternative toastie was delicious. 5 stars otherwise.

Stopped for an early lunch on my own. Great choice of coffees and teas, sandwiches, baked potatoes, ploughman's lunch, soup, cakes and bakes. Really friendly family run place. Lots of magazines to read for those out without company. Will definitely pop in again!

Stopped in Selkirk for a lunch break. What a lovely find. All fresh. Very good service. Decorated so nice for Christmas and you can buy trinkets etc. Very tasty real turkey and cranberry sandwich. Cakes looked good and old fashioned jars of sweets too. Highly recommend.

I'm a regular(ish) visitor to the Jazrose for both personal and business breaks. The owners are always friendly and helpful. The food and drinks are always good. The prices are very reasonable - what's wrong with any of this?

Found this place by accident having past it many times. Lovely relaxed atmosphere with an outlook to the street. Serves excelent de-caf Mocha and the Ploumans lunch was really good with a selection of 6 cheeses.
