These guys are the only take away in Galashiels that seem to be able to offer consistency when it comes to take aways. Myself and my partner got sick of the sub par options available elsewhere in town. Save your money and go somewhere that can cook food everytime you order, they are also flexible and accommodating when asking for extra's.

Ordered before 10pm, order is marked as delivered and yet its 11.40pm and we have no food. Called you and no answer. I'm not angry,I'm just really disappointed. You guys have quite literally the best kebabs and took a gamble on ordering direct instead of JustEat and you've let us down.

Good takeaway was abit shocked to see one of the workers there buy lots of bags of onion rings at Iceland for a pound and they charge 3pound for a small portion on there menu 😳😳 next time I'll head to Iceland and get my self a big bag for a quid 🤔🤔

We were on holiday staying in the next village, for 4 days, looking for good turkish/med food. Found this place and used them twice. The food is excellent, really good sized portions and great taste. Friendly staff and food ready in good time. We had 2 specials for £12 each not realising that each one would easily feed 2 people, they lasted us two days 😂 Next time we're up in Scotland we will be back. 👍👍

Rang up with an order for 7 people and the food was ready in less than 20 minutes. None of us had any complaints, the pizzas were very good and the kebabs were probably the best outside the North-East of England. Chips typical of a kebab/pizza place. Friendly and efficient staff. Will be back the next time we are in Galashiels.

Visited on a whim and glad I did. The kebab meat from here is the best I’ve tasted and had in a long time. Looked wonderfully clean and fresh. Staff were very helpful and polite with great hygiene/food hygiene observed. Will definitely visit again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

Probably the best kebab I've had in my life so far. Went for the shish and chicken personally but Mrs had a sweet chilli chicken wrap and really enjoyed it too. Fast service but think we caught it when it was quiet. The man behind the counter was a top gent and allowed me to use the toilet even though there was nothing in the shop to say he had a customer toilet. If we ever end in Galashiels again we will definitely return.

Well what can I say, other than delicious, special kebab, took two sittings to finish it off, the misses had grilled chicken with chips, also took two sittings, in fact it was so good, I ordered the same the next day. 😁

Outstanding Halal food. Person taking the order was very helpful and gave good advice on choices. Food taste was excellent and serving size was large. Were visiting Scottish Borders and only found them on the last day. Next time would always get food from them. All other experiences around Galashiels were bad

It was one of the most beautiful and successful opportunities in my life that I found this restaurant and ate its delicious food. I wished to taste all its food from the first time. I liked the good reception of the owner of the restaurant to us, as well as his generous hospitality to us. I will definitely visit Galashiels City several times in the future with my family to visit this restaurant. Haider & wife.

Waited a hour and a half after being told 45 mins, portion of chips was seriously poor, and chicken pakora came without the sauce we ordered! Seriously disappointed.

Love this place. My new favourite chippy in gala. Grilled chicken anything is my favourite cos of the big chunks of chicken, the burger or the wrap both awesome. But the munchy box is great value for money and a good choice when a few of u wanna pick on a few things, its more than big enough for 2 adults and 2 kids, we always keep some left overs. It's awesome

Chicken wrap unreal. Had 1.. salad and garlic sauce with a bit of spice could've easily ate atleast another 2 despite the good portion! Class.

Delivery took over an hr when told it would 30 mins. Phoned up to ask address as was written incorrectly when ordered, was told a price on the phone only to be told a different amount at the door. Order was incomplete (forgot our daughters burger) no menu as requested and pizzas had a more or less burnt base. Not impressed at all

Tenía mis huevos benedict y no me decepcionó. Muy agradable. Por desgracia, esta excelente lugar es cerrado se rumorea acrimonious debido a un divorcio antes de poder explorar su menú más. La selección de tostadas francesas parecía muy interesante, pero no tienen la oportunidad de probarlo. Gran lástima. Parece que el original 140 años lugar original hawick es ido demasiado. La tragedia.

Nos llevaron como regalo de Turnbulls por nuestros amigos. Lo que me parece interesante es cuando te vas a otro, espontáneamente y sin expectativas o idea preconcebida. Esta fue una de esas ocasiones.

Metimos a almorzar y me quedé muy impresionado con una selección de aperitivos y platos principales a precios razonables. Preciosa casa de quingombó, pero yo estaba demasiado lleno después de mi plato. Mis dos huéspedes disfrutamos.

Vine aquí para pasar unas horas con un amigo. Una cálida bienvenida, al entrar en la tienda de un olor agradable de café te saluda. Cuando pasa por la tienda y subir las escaleras a la principal que es recibido por bistro el personal y a su mesa. Los cafés y bollos son deliciosos y tuvimos un tiempo estupendo encontrarse.

Mi esposa y yo metimos en aquí en una visita reciente a Galashiels.

Nuestra primera visita. Llamado para un almuerzo muy tarde (4 pm) para celebrar un cumpleaños familiar. Nos sentaron rápidamente y nos sirve bebidas y luego pedimos nuestra orden. La comida tardó un poco en llegar, pero era magnífico. Se puede recomendar la carne, tarta de haggis y negro que viene a caballo un plato de tarta con un bol pequeño de patatas fritas cortadas a mano, todo servido en una bandeja de madera (10 libras. 00). Esposa maltratada Eyemouth abadejo con patatas y guisantes salsa tártara y blanda (12 libras. 00). El personal era genial.

He estado aquí para café, almuerzo y comida para llevar comidas y olvidó que no cenas.

He comido aquí dos veces y en ambas ocasiones he disfrutado de la comida, el servicio y la comida. . No es de sorprender que Trumbull es muy conocido. La calidad de la comida que se sirve es como resultado de cuidadosa selección de los carniceros locales y otros productores. Luminoso y acogedor, el establecimiento ofrece servicio de catering en el lugar así como la venta de productos locales al público. El servicio es ofrecido por un personal joven y entusiasta, y nada es demasiado problema. Mi consejo, comer en Trumbull en Galasheils, es un corto viaje desde la estación de tren de fronteras.

Turnbulls ofrece una ubicación excelente en el que relajarse y hacer una selección de su menú interesante y variada.

this is a lovely space upstairs which has great old fashioned feel to it, appropriate lazy music and great atmosphere. Food is good but not great - had a pastrami sandwich which a twenty stone labourer would have been proud of - great big doorstepping wedges of bread with the brisket and pickles inside - too much bread though and felt bad leaving lots of it. the fresh soup was homemade butternut squash but again too thick and heavy but was to be fair piping hot. The one thing though that lets this place down I feel is the service. Once again I found myself standing at the top of the stairs waiting to be seated in an almost empty restaurant whilst no-one even acknowledged me. After a few minutes I eventually got a seat but then again when tying to get my bill to leave, the two waitress were more interested in chatting to each other rather than watching for activity at their tables. its always a poor sign of a restaurant if you pay your bill and your plates are still on the table at that point. Its a shame this could be a great destination if they looked at the small things now and worked on how to make them better.

Una bienvenida muy cálida se da en Turnbulls, la comida es fantástica, con una gran relación calidad-precio y el entorno es precioso. Este establecimiento haría genial en el centro de la ciudad de Edimburgo y es una sorpresa de encontrar en una ciudad dormitorio de las fronteras.

Met with a friend for coffee took 10 mins to be seated a further 15 to 20 mins for order to be taken the a further 20 mins to get a coffee and scone and still friends order was wrong Won't be back very disappointed

La comida es buena, el personal era servicial y amable y no tuvimos que esperar mucho tiempo en nuestra comida. Conseguimos una buena selección de opciones sin gluten para satisfacer mis necesidades dietéticas. No me puedo quejar, aparte de un poco de una fiesta ruidosa que venía mientras estábamos comiendo, pero que realmente no puedo ser atendido en la noche del sábado. Sin duda lo recomiendo.

Pequeño y encantador café con comedor de arriba. . . . . Genial para sentarse junto a la ventana y ver el mundo de abajo (si puedes conseguir un asiento de ventana).

Tuvimos una comida familiar y encantador el sábado por la noche. La comida era excelente. Mi hija tenía el cerdo que ella realmente disfrutamos mi marido y yo tuvimos el filete. Turnbulls tiene un ambiente encantador y parece muy buena en la noche. El personal era agradable, pero el servicio era un poco lento.

We were first in the door and were seated and served quickly and had an excellent Sunday brunch I had the "Turnbull's breakfast " which was a good Scottish fry up not too big but not too small just right, my wife had "eggs Hebridean " two bits of black pudding on muffins topped with poached eggs and hollandaise sauce, cooked to perfection , that and some good strong coffee was the perfect lazy Sunday treat.

Stopped at Turnbull's for lunch with my family and we were not disappointed. The food was great and even kids commented that they liked it which is rare occasion. Would definitely go there again if in Galashiels.

Interesting lunchtime menu. Selected Croque Monsieur, very tasty, enough for a substantial lunch, but not too much. Good attentive service.

Called in here after spotting it walking round Galashiels and popped in for morning tea/coffee/toasted tea cakes. Good decision. The tea came in leaf form in a tea pot with strainer, the coffee with hot milk. The toasted tea cakes were delicious and came with butter and home made jam. Lovely friendly service, pleasant surroundings. Rather wished we were there at a time for lunch but will definitely go back next time we are in the area.

We had taken the Borders Railway train from Edinburgh and had Sunday lunch in Galashiels. Turnbulls was open and provided a wide range of food choices: main meals, snacks, light bites, brunch and an extensive menu for children. The restaurant on the first floor was bright and airy with a view over the High Street. Our food was cooked to order and as we had arrived after a large party there was a wait before we got it but we were in no hurry. I chose Eggs Benedict and it was lovely. The service was first class: friendly and efficient.. Prices seemed very reasonable

Had a lovely time at Turnbulls eating amazing food and drinking a cup of tea. Perfect place for a quick lunch or family meal. Definitely go back again.

Very good cup of coffee and a delicious scone. Staff very efficient and the place was very clean. Think it would be nice at night for a meal.

Nice interior design. Nice selection of cakes. Staff perhaps not fully attentive to when customers are ready to either order or pay (2 younger staff were standing chatting by coffee machines instead of focusing on the tables whilst a more mature waitress was running about doing most if the work). One of the nicer cafés in town.

Staff were rude, snobbish and unwelcoming. If you don't "fit" you don't get made welcome. Would never go back!!

Sin embargo, fue el 'Eyemouth 'pescado y patatas fritas cortadas a mano que tuve, muy sabroso. Con una ventana de la primera planta fue una buena vista para ver el mundo pasar en nuestra corta visita a la 'Gala' a través de las nuevas fronteras de trenes. Volvería de nuevo.

Nos sucedió a encontrar Turnbulls cuando conduciendo a través de Galashiels buscando una comida temprano después de un día de pesca. Un precioso enorme edificio antiguo, así que muy amplia. Mi marido utiliza una silla de ruedas, así pudimos utilizar el restaurante en la planta de arriba, pero eso no cambia para nuestra comida o de nuestra noche. Excelente servicio y excelente comida y incluso nos las arreglamos bien envueltos algunos regalos comprar para llevar a casa para los amigos.

Estoy aquí porque el lugar es tan encantador para sentarse. Tiene una decoración bastante agradable con un ambiente relajado y la comida es fantástica. Sí, el servicio puede ser un poco lento, pero a quién le importa cuando la comida es tan bueno y tan bien presentado. El personal es muy servicial y educado, y es sin duda vale la pena tomar un poco de tiempo para el deli debajo del restaurante. No es demasiado caro, estupendos menús para el almuerzo y la cena y también deliciosos pasteles! Altamente recomendado!!!!

Admito que no voy aquí a menudo, por la misma razón no cada vez. Me gusta el té, mi principal razón para ir. Sin embargo, encuentro que el servicio es demasiado lento, esperamos esta mañana durante más de 20 minutos para un bollo y los huevos benedictinos, 10 de las cuales estaba esperando el té, y no estaba lleno. Me gusta la sensación del lugar, pero le falta algo para mí... De ahí la razón por la que elegiremos otras tiendas locales sobre una base más regular.

En nuestro paseo habitual Turnbulls martes llegó la llamada que estaba bastante concurrida a la llegada, así que decidimos comer fuera en la terraza y disfrutar del sol. Hemos visitado antes, pero esta fue la primera vez al aire libre, el servicio y la comida estaban a la altura, como siempre. Bien merece una visita sólo para la decoración solo.

Lugar fantástico, increíble comida, gran servicio, alojado aquí unas cuantas veces o café y tarta o familiares de comida también un almuerzo ligero. Menú tiene gran elección,. Siempre sonriente que hacer lo posible para que su visita 100% perfecto.

Had a fantastic dinner at Turnbulls on a Friday evening. Food, service, ambience all great. Decor of the restaurant is lovely. We are locals and this was our first visit, we will definitely be back. Many thanks for an enjoyable evening.

Hoy visitamos Turnbulls café y almuerzo y estamos muy contentos de haberlo hecho. Nos sirvió dos camareras hermoso joven que era extremadamente amable y servicial - un crédito para el negocio. La comida y el café era de un nivel muy alto y terminamos con una porción de la tarta de caramelo, que era delicioso. Sin duda volveremos en nuestra próxima visita a Galasheils.

An excellent traditional cafe / teashop / restaurant (real leaf tea) and shop selling sweets such as Hawick Balls. It came as a pleasant surprise because Galashiels High St is the kind of wreck produced by Heseltine and Selwyn Gummer's Town Planning around 1990.

Went out for a lunch with friends one of which had a baby. After being shown to our table we were left for 20 minutes before a drinks order was even taken! I shall point out that at the time there was only two other occupied tables of which there was 4 persons at each. Not exactly rushed off their feet.When our order was taken we also placed our food order. Our drinks only took a couple of minutes however, each of us ordered either a toastie or a sandwich we had to wait 30 minutes for these!It wasn't until my friends wee one needed changing did we discover there were no changing amenities for this to happen! Out came a mussling cloth and on the floor the wee one went.The service felt begrudeged to add on top 2 coffees and one sandwich and salad was charged around £12. I did query and was told that it was indeed correct.

Came here for lunch would have liked to have sat upstairs but the restaurant was fully booked so sat down stairs we had a lovely chunky homemade sandwich with homemade coleslaw then we had a scone and carrot cake it was all delicious this place is very busy the staff are polite and helpful it's clean and comfy but do book if you want to sit upstairs

I have visited here maybe 6 or 7 times since it opened. Service is usually pretty slow but always worth the wait as the food is delicious! However my experience today (10th Oct) was terrible! I ordered a single macchiato which had foam piled up like a Mr whippy ice cream. I had to scoop most of the foam away before being able to drink it and the espresso itself was burnt. We then waited 15 minutes after being served our drinks for our food order to be taken. My starter came out fairly quickly but it was only bruchetta. We then waited over an hour for our main course to be served! Two tables who came in after us were served before us. One of which was a table of 3 and the other a table of 5? I have had macaroni from you before and it definetely wasn't of the same high standard as my previous visit. It was very dry! Disappointed. Especially after the wait. If the service had been great it maybe wouldn't of been so bad! I appreciate it was a Saturday afternoon and it was very busy but (Tom I think I heard him being called) was doing ALL the work. And 3 young girls were literally standing leaning on the bar doing nothing. Preparing the odd drink here and there. Tables were left uncleared. Nobody was checking on our food. Nobody offered us more drinks or checked the Coffee was ok. A couple of other things that concerned me were the blue cloth the young girl used to wipe the steam arm was then used to wipe down the surfaces and then used to wipe the steam arm again! Then to add to that when dishes came from through the back one was obviously a little dirty and the SAME blue cloth was then used to wipe the cup out which was then put on the shelf. The girl kept using that blue cloth to wipe surfaces on the bar over and over and then using it on the steam arm. I appreciate the girls were just young but they were just ignoring your customers. They were not seating people when they came up. They weren't serving food. They weren't taking any food orders. They didn't check on how things were. They didn't prepare bills the poor man was doing this all himself! And it was a full cafe! Maybe they were in training or you had someone off sick but for 3 of them to be stood doing nothing the whole hour and a half we were there was ridiculous. Not sure I will be back after the 1. The poor service. 2. The long wait. 3. The unhygienic cloths on the steam arm making my coffee!
