Tavern Bar Restaurant in Scottish Borders

Went for Xmas lunch today as party of 8. Food was amazing, great portion sizes and price was so good. Our elderly lady took ill and the staff were fantastic, so caring. Waitress stayed with her in bathroom so we could all eat our meal. Even helping with her coat and tucking her scarf in as it was cold outside. Exactly the way you would treat your own mum. Staff are an asset to the tavern. Will definitely return

Haven't eaten here yet but the staff and locals are amazing when we've been in just for a drink *which turns into a few! We try and visit every time we are back in Eyemouth and it doesn't disappoint! Friday Night Club had us laughing and some great tunes on the jukebox! Thanks for the hospitality!

Had the Sunday lunch it was excellent we both enjoyed a few meals there .staff was to friendly nothing was a bother would definitely recommend this pub well done all the staff

What a friendly bar, I was on my own but the barmaid welcomed me and soon had me talking with some of the regulars.

Cracking wee local pub decent pint and friendly people

We were having a lovely time my husband and myself and our dog and one oif the locals tried to pick a fight with us over the dog saying we should be walking the dog instead of being in the pub we just left after 2 pints because he was quiet intimidating other people left who had a dogs .The barmaid was lovely who served us was lovely but went off shift so she wasn't their.Dont think we will vist again

Basic 1970s style pub. Food looked ok but didn't try

Huge breakfast, the toast was hard and cold, so quite difficult to butter, I suspect it had been made before the food was ready. I also would’ve preferred my toast on a side plate as it was quite difficult to butter as there was no room on the main plate. I also would’ve liked a second hot tea, but the waiting staff did not approach our table at all, I know, I should’ve asked but the staff seemed very busy.

Been twice in the last week for lunch and on both occasions the food was lovely. Freshest fish and great crayfish baguettes washed down with a nice wine Service was super friendly - highly recommended

Excellent, good quality food, good sized portions, staff all friendly and efficient. Highly recommend this place! Ps mum in laws light bite was also very decent size. Very Dog friendly - we will be back!

Schönes, helles Lokal, freundliche Bedienung. Wir haben hier das Abendessen eingenommen und seit mehr als 3 Wochen, das Beste Essen, das wir während unseres Aufenthalts in Irland und Schottland bekommen haben. Nicht übervolle Teller, schön angerichtet und fein gewürzt. Unseres Erachtens eine vorzügliche Wahl und wir sind als CHer eher etwas verwöhnt.

Called in on spec as we found ourselves in Eyemouth for a visit. We were warmly welcomed by a lady behind the bar and invited to seat in the dining area where we were attended to by a very friendly and polite young lady. I have a very nice plate of fish and chips - proper home made chips. My wife had salt and pepper chicken and my daughter the chicken burger. Prices very reasonable and all delicious Really nice view across the bay with a play area right outside. We will 100% be back.

Love this pub! The cider is lovely the food delicious and the staff are super helpful and friendly. Go everytime we visit Eyemouth and will be back for the breakfast next time we are there.

Great place to chill out.only had a drink but the food other people were having looked very nice.

Staff are super helpful and very friendly too. didn't have any food but the food looked great. my partner said the toilets were clean as was the gents i used. really no issue is too much for the staff either wonderful service provided too as is the fantastic atmosphere.

Sunday Roast lunch was delicious - my husband is Coeliac and gluten free meal was no problem at all, we were made very welcome, the food and service were excellent - will definitely return soon!

We have been in Eyemouth on holiday this week & stumbled across The Tavern as it is close to our holiday cottage-what a find! Excellent food & wide range of drinks all reasonably priced, staff all very friendly & welcoming, and what a view! Would definitely return & would recommend to anyone.

Did not eat here but drinks reasonable

Went in for a drink but my mum insisted on eating. The soup had brick hard under cooked potatoes in it, base was very thin. Steak pie had chewy overcooked steak in it. Not good at all. Serving staff we were but not attentive.

Good honest pub, service with the barman was top notch ,but of friendly banter. Allows dogs,we sat with our 2 for a few hours and had a great afternoon just watching the sea views and some drinks.

Dogs welcome in the bar area. Sadly not many seats as full of locals. Cheap bar meals. Home cooked & plenty of choices.

Best Sunday lunch in Eyemouth Roast beef roast potatoes new potatoes carrot broccoli and sprouts My personal favourite 2 big Yorkshire pudding and plenty of gravey What more could you ask for Lovely staff good pint and all at a very reasonable price 👌

This is a great pub run by really friendly people. Amazing views. Cheap round. The scampi is delicious. We look forward to returning.

Every time we visit Eyemouth we have to visit The Tavern but this visit we had brought our daschund puppies so decided to have takeaway meals for the first time and we certainly weren't disappointed. One Mountain burger which consisted of burger,cheese,bacon and onion rings with chips and coleslaw. One Cheeseburger and chips with coleslaw. One fish of the day (Haddock) with chips and tartare sauce and last but not least the fish platter which required 2 takeaway boxes and it was incredible as were the other meals. First time for takeaway food but would definitely order again although hopefully the dogs will be better behaved so we can sit down in the bar area and enjoy our meals lol

Staff friendly as always, food brilliant

Horrible greasy burnt fish, all I could taste was grease. Even the chips were greasy. Time they renewed their cooking oil. The salt and pepper chicken wasn’t even a child’s portion and it was supposed to be a main meal. While it tasted nice enough the portion size was a disgrace! The service was a credit to the restaurant the food however was not.

Ann and staff are just fantastic. Food is wonderful and presentation great. Such good value and a beautiful outlook of the bay. Definitely recommend this gem and look forward to visiting soon

Not much to look at outside, but great views from inside of Bay and some of harbour. Very friendly, lovely owner and staff. Not expensive for beer, spirits etc. Dog and child, friendly and parking outside.

We ate and drink in tavern over the 4 days we were in eyemouth staff and food great. But our last night was .totally spoiled crammed in our seats folk asking when are you leaving left a very bad experience. Nobody told us Thursday was bingo night and they really do not like HOLIDAY MAKERS IN THERE SPACE .

Kids had the kids sandwich platters, good amount of sandwiches, crisps, salad sticks, muffin and a small tub of ice cream. The cheeseburger was very nice as well, home made chips were on point. Wife had the sea food platter, not the same as one of the picture before as the wife's didn't have the big piece of fish on it. Service was very good and food was cooked fresh and served hot and with a smile. You must eat here if you are in Eyemouth and if we stayed longer we would have been here again.

Played a few games of pool the whole table could do with good brush and light hoover on a regular basis, the balls are needing cleaned or replaced, cues are poor quality, need a rest and spider. for hard to reach shots.

Just had a lovely afternoon tea with my dear friend..the staff are brilliant and the tea was delicious ..worth the money for sure..we will be back very soon with our other friends.

We had a fabulous Christmas gathering & meal at the Tavern. Generous portions, fresh & well cooked. Would highly recommend, also coped extremely well with my allergy conditions too, friendly, relaxed & great atmosphere. We also had crackers, dont know where they were from, super metal gifts inside, good quality. Kept all mine. Will definitely be going back.

Stayed in Eymouth over the weekend with my other half and had been in other pubs, however we decided to go in the tavern on the Saturday night and this was by far the best experience of them all. The staff were so welcoming and friendly and the overall atmosphere was terrific. We had a lovely chat with the owner and for sure we will be visiting this great venue when back in Eymouth.

We only chose The Tavern because of Tripadvisor reviews, if we had turned up in Eyemouth without looking at the reviews we would have missed out on this great wee place! We parked for free in the Co-op car park & honestly if you are looking for a boutique style eatery forget it! The Tavern is an honest to goodness pub, great prices, great staff and delicious food, the many returning customers tell it all! I had scampi and chips and hubby had the mountain burger, we had a pint of soda and lime each and our dog was made welcome. The cost was very fair. If you are thinking of visiting the area, don’t miss the Tavern for lunch, you won’t regret it!

Food is excellent. Dog friendly. 4 dogs at once in bar, and not one incident. Really good value for money. Staff are lovely. Shall always return for meal or drink. View is amazing, as right on sea front. Lovely.

Whilst holidaying in Eyemouth we called in for lunch. On entering the establishment we were met by a lovely cheerful member of staff. We could bring our dog in. Food & service from the other two ladies was fantastic. The food was lovely & great...

Friendly staff we nipped in for a drink most days of our holiday . Views over the water and Thursday night was super busy with bingo was so nice to see it so full . Would know for future visits . Very nice place

Visited the Tavern on a day visit to Eyemouth , Got a warm welcome from Ann . The staff were very welcoming and the fish and chip lunch was excellent . Highly recommended .
