First time ive been to a deli and it definitely didnt disappoint. I had a tuna panini it was the best ive had in a long time. I had a cup of tea. The tea was perfect. If you dont want to eat in there are parks in this area. Overall it was a delight to eat here.

This is a great find. Lovely staff, fresh delicious food at a reasonable price and the best cup of tea I've ever had in Edinburgh for some time.

Highly recommend Danieli’s! The staff are so nice and the food is very fresh! We chose to make our own toasted paninis and they were loaded with toppings. Best priced meal we have seen in Edinburgh for less than 6 pounds a person.

Such a hidden gem, the gentleman behind the counter always serves and is a polite delight. I only ever order the wraps because they are hands down the tastiest lunch you could ever get, once I have tried them all I will move onto the sandwiches. Breakfast rolls are also equally delicious, I think the bread being used is the secret. Small cafe, not pretentious at all, you know what you’re getting, my new favourite lunch spot

I stumbled upon this delightful deli in Edinburgh, and the experience was worth every twist and turn. Initially bustling with a big order, I ventured out to explore other options but found myself irresistibly drawn back. Though they initially lacked the panini I craved, my patience paid off. Upon my return, I was treated to one of the best breakfasts ever! The panini, freshly baked and incredibly tasty, exceeded my expectations. The croissant was equally outstanding. Despite its small size, this hidden gem is worth the effort of waiting. The charm of the place, combined with the delicious offerings, makes it a must-visit for breakfast enthusiasts. Highly recommended! 👍

Lunch to go from Daneli's was quickly prepared and was a perfect thing for us to take down for our wander around Dean Village. Highly recommend the toasted wraps!

Lovely Little breakfest/lunch place. Visiting for 2 days 3 nights, we ended up having breakfest there every morning. Great value for money, great and welcoming staff, would 10 out of 10 recomend.

Great place! I got the Thai chicken wrap and it was absolutely delicious and fast! What I really loved was how friendly and welcoming the staff were. They seemed like very nice people. Would have liked to see some more vegetarian options for my partner.

Oh. My. God. The paninis are sooooo delicious wow. They have a great selection of paninis, bbq pulled pork, meatballs, chicken and chorizo, sweet chilli chicken, chicken tikka and so on. They all come with cheese and toasted! The ingredients taste so fresh and high quality. Best sandwich bar in Edinburgh for sure! Really can’t say enough good things🤤🤤🤤

Visiting from the U.S., I had the southern chicken wrap and it was fantastic. Everything looked good, I wish I had time to go back and try more. Very quick too. The wraps are pre made and heated/cooked when you order them. It came out perfectly hot and crispy.

Popped in as a walk by brunch. Sat in had the Thai chicken toasted wrap it was excellent. Whilst sat in the place was busy with takeaways a good sign of good food. Staff polite and professional establishment clean and seating area suffice.

Mi sono incappato per caso in questo posto mentre camminavo per Edimburgo assieme a mio fratello. Abbiamo deciso di fermarci e abbiamo assaggiato due wrap (Japanese e fried chicken) e una zuppa. Devo dire che è stato il miglior pasto fatto in 10 giorni in Scozia. Personale cortese e cibo molto buono. Ovviamente stiamo parlando di un piccolo locale, simil fast-food, ma il cibo è stato veramente molto buono e di qualità. Volevamo tornare prima di partire, ma sabato e domenica era chiuso.

Absolutely amazing breakfast rolls. Was in this morning for the first time. Bacon, sausage and haggis in a lovely soft bun for only £3. Both guys who I met there were both very nice too. Will definitely be going back! Support local businesses and check this place out.

Original (Nov 2019): I used to work right next to Daneli's Deli and their lunch options are very delicious. The wraps and sandwiches are finger licking good. But the highlight is their morning rolls. They are simply divine. The bun, the bacon, the eggs, the haggis, perfection. If you like a bacon and egg roll and are around during the working week mornings I urge you to drop by and try. You will not regret it. Every other bacon and scrambled egg roll you have after will spawn the memory of Daneli's and leave you wanting the real deal. Edit: I went today (16/08/2021) for a bit of nostalgia and a bacon and scrambled egg roll. It was not bad but it wasn't the same. The bun was different and the egg was not perfectly creamy as before. There might be new management and even though everything was fresh and would keep the 5 stars, I'd be doubtful if I'd give them the "best morning rolls in Edinburgh title".

Super Delicious. The paninis were soft inside and crispy outside. Liked their French Brie, Maple Bacon and Cranberry Sauce panini very much. Should come back again! !

Had to take my Coronation Chicken roll back on Monday, the quasi-ciabatta style roll was days old, stale (when the starch goes crystallise bright white when you bite in). Its changed ownership recently, they seem like nice people, but you can't charge good money for poor, inedible and stale product

The lady took the scone with her hand. She was so rude and when I asked for jam, she didn’t reply to me and the man replied in very well manner.

We were in Edinburgh to visit a friend and my friends and I decided to go In. Best choice of the day! I had the Mexican Chicken Hot burrito and we walked down toward dean’s village and sat down to eat, I loved it so much that I went to get another burrito! The owners are very friendly and helpful! 100/100 service!

Stopped here after being out for a long walk. I had soup and a brown roll. Both were delicious and the roll was so fresh, my daughter had a baked potato which was also lovely. I bought biscuits/cakes to take home for later. Only 3 tables and does do mainly takeaways but excellent local deli and we will definitely go back when we are out and about. Disgusting food that is hugely ovepriced. The old lady who served me looked unclean and I wonder whether a visit from food hygiene standards would be in order? The bagel shop across the street is far superior in every way and also spotlessly clean.

Super friendly and welcoming- they have an extensive menu, but will make whatever you want on the spot! As other reviewers, I have to mention the spicy lentil and ham soup.... awesome, and only £2. Really delicious and warming. Also, the toasted wraps are a tasty meat feast, lots of variety. Another firm favourite was chicken, pesto and cheese panini. So good, and such good value that our group of 5 got lunch there ( to takeaway) 5 times in a week. A couple of tables inside, but no room for all of us in times of Covid I’m afraid. We always received a warm welcome too, how lovely!

I work round the corner and occasionally treat myself to a wrap of lovely home made soup. Today I realised I had forgotten my purse but the owners insisted in making me a delicious roll for free! I left with a big smile.

Nice place to come and get out of the rain and have a quick snack run or lunch. They also serve breakfast which is amazing if you work nearby or are in hurry to work. I tried a baked potato with cheese and while it isn't much, it tasted way better than the ones in Texas. 10/10 would come back later.

La semana pasada pasamos un tiempo encantador en Danelis el viernes. Estaban muy ocupados, pero todavía se tomaron el tiempo para conversar con nosotros y nos dejaron quedarnos un rato más para disfrutar de la mañana. Mi pareja y yo trabajamos en la hospitalidad y apreciamos la milla extra. Ambos tuvimos paninis y te recomiendo que comas ya que el lugar es muy acogedor. Buen trabajo chicos, volveremos.

Friendly, down to earth and affordable. We had a lovely time at Danelis last week on friday. They were very busy but they still took the time to have a chat with us and let us stay a while longer to enjoy the morning. My partner and I work in hospitality and we appreciate the extra mile. We both had paninis and I recommend you eat in as the place is very homey. Good work guys, we will return

I come into Daneli's Deli every Friday (Its a work tradition) and I have to say the welcome I get is infectious. Staff are wonderful always a smile on the face asking how your week was ect, so lovely to speak with. Food is fast and absolutely delicious!! Cant recommend this place more.

I asked if they made their falafel wraps with humus or babaganoush & was told no, so I went to see if I could get it elsewhere somewhere in the area. I couldn't so came back & asked for a tuna melt. Was told no only what was in the fridge, even though they had tuna mayo etc in serve over . I looked in the fridge & picked out a ham, cheese & mustard ciabatta. I asked for it toasted, which would have been yum, but was told they can't toast that one. I told them I had owned & run a sandwich/coffee shop for 6 years & that this was proving an unusual experience. The owner (presumably) then started muttering something under his breath & I asked him what he said. He said he didn't want to talk to me & started walk g over to where I was at the door. I asked him if he was on Yelp. He essentially threw me out & wouldn't engage my conversation. Won't be going back, obvs. A much better option over in Rose St is Wolfits, who made me a freshly prepared tuna melt with red onion & it was delicious. Just sayin...

Como turistas, nos quedamos muy impresionados por lo que muchos lugareños parecía estar llamando y ver la reacción del personal a sus clientes, estaba claro que tienen un público fiel y regular. Had a breakfast roll and tea at this place; the people serving were both very pleasant and courteous. The tea was lacklustre; a relatively weak tea bag provided with a cup of hot water for me to then make myself for £2. However, the breakfast roll (the important part) was lovely - perfectly cooked fillings, very enjoyable and good value. Not a bad affordable little place - recommended overall.

Had a £4.50 ham and mozzarella panini. Would have had a cola but they wanted to charge £1.50 for it. They charge 80p to sit. The panini itself was very disappointing, strange mozzarella, not convinced it was mozzarella. Won't return. There's a lot of choice in the area.

A busy deli run by a great couple. Wrap and soup is the best - unless you go for a Friday morning bacon roll - bacon is soooo crispy :)
