Gluten free bagels very good as are the normal ones, nice place and not too expensive, good coffee too. Not much space inside if you're wanting to sit in however.

Warm welcome, very little space but that doesn't take away the taste of the products. Very good bagel by the way. I came after seeing the Google reviews. You can go there with your eyes closed

Lucky enough to get a seat in the window, as there's very limited seating. But worth still getting a bite to eat on the go even if there aren't any seats.

Good for a quick, warm sandwich for breakfast. If you don't want to have to sit at a restaurant. It's can be hard to find fast food in the area. When you only have so many days, you don't want to spend hours on breakfast and lunch. That's more a dinner thing.

Very good gluten-free sandwiches available. The environment is not spacious: there are some tables outside and a very small one inside.

I got a bagel with vegan cream cheese and bacon; delicious! The people were also super friendly— the person at the cash register smiled and asked everyone “how was it?” when people returned their plates. Kind people, good food, and close proximity to the national museum!

What a lovely place to stop!! Snowy, cold day and me and my friend were looking for a coffee and a light lunch. Cheap as chips and absolutely delicious! Love a coffee/tea served in a proper mug too :) Really tasty soup, unreal prices, and exactly what we needed ! Thank you, would definitely come back

Was on my lunch break and went to Bobby's for a toasty and the lovely staff allowed me to pay the following day because my card didn't work. This really helped my day as otherwise I'd have had to return to work hungry. It made me feel really hopeful about how kind people can be. Thank you so much! The toasty was also delicious and served nice and hot!

What a great little place! Me + hubbie came up from Galashiels + popped in here during a walk around Edinburgh on open doors day. Pity this place wasn’t here when I was a nurse at the old Royal infirmary in Lauriston place many years ago. The food, service + value is so good we came back a few weeks later, before going for walk up arthurs seat. Highly recommend the bacon + soft cheese bagel! 😊

Best latte I have had in 3 days in Edinburgh- nice and hot and served in a proper mug. Crispy bacon roll was great too.

Fabulous food, loads of vegetarian and vegan options. Lentil soup and vegetarian haggis, cheese and brown sauce toasty was just what the dr ordered when I got soaked through the other day. All washed down with a big mug of tea and kind words and a warm smile from the guy behind the counter. I’ll be back! Thank you Jules!

Nous avons opté pour ce petit bar/sandwich à deux reprises durant notre séjour à Edimbourg. Dès notre arrivée dans ce charmant endroit nous sommes accueillis par le cuisinier derrière ses fourneaux qui nous demande rapidement ce que l’on désire. Nous avons mangé les bagels déjeuner avec un bon chocolat chaud. La nourriture excellente, service rapide et à petit prix pour un petit déjeuner sur le pouce. Bacon brie cranberry. The bread was alright, cranberry sauce was quite sweet

They claim to be haunted as they are built over an old graveyard, but here is their protection right there in the wall. However, the friendly service and delicious food dispelled any notion of dark spirits. What a welcoming little place.

The man running the counter was just LOVELY. Gave me suggestions when I wasn't sure what to order, asked if I wanted my water bottle filled, and also asked about my time at uni so far after seeing the logo on my sweatshirt. Also, the sandwich was AMAZING. I will 100% be coming back here.

The food is great and their bagles ore sooo good, they are so gentle too! The prices are not high at all and the spot is perfect for lunch and breakfast, wish I can eat those at dinner too.

We’ve been coming here since Covid & always made so welcome by Samir & staff. Lovely guy , makes the best BLT bagels & caramel cappuccinos 👌. Sorry didn’t get girls name today who served us but lovely enthusiasm & this is why this cafe works so well . Please pop in you will not be disappointed.

This place is highly recommended. Very reasonably priced and Natasha is great, she deserves a raise. Wasn't able to ascertain what makes it so haunted but maybe we need to bring a clairvoyant individual along next time.

Travelling from Dundee I visited bobby's on a recommendation of a friend. This is great little spot which did not disappoint !! I do love a quality independent cafe ! was greeted with smiles from staff & customer ..nice one ...great selection of sandwiches & kick ass coffee 🍮' was just the job before an afternoon at the museum !! ill be back 🥯✊🏾

Delicious sundried tomato, pesto, mozzarella ciabatta. Perfect before my visit to the museum. Tasted fresh. Will visit again on my next trip to Edinburgh

Arguably a limited menu, but everything is done very well. Freshly cooked with care. The cafe is opposite the National Musuem and thus on a main road, but outside seating is still a good 5m back from the road. A small independent café well worth your business.

Stopped here on our first morning in Edinburgh mostly on a whim (the Potter trail tour starts on the outside) but we ended up going here every morning during our stay! Their oat chai latte is the best I have ever tried (please send me the recipe!!) and their toasties are fresh and taste absolutely amazing. I'm already missing the breakfasts there. The staff are friendly and their service excellent; they made my friend a custom baguette every day without any hassle at all.

We were lucky enough to arrive in a small gap in the clouds and, although it was a little late and they were closing, they took care of us and let us have the soup and the sandwich on the little terrace they have. The food was really good, in general they do everything to take away, quick menu type, but if you have time and space it is worth spending some time.

Feel like the sandwiches are so overpriced for what they are. I had a chicken sandwich which was full of dry peanut butter and was disgusting

Absolutely fabulous breakfast! We had a bacon roll, omelette roll with sriracha, and a bacon, egg and cheese on ciabatta with HP sauce. All were incredible and our lattes were perfect. The guys running the shop were so kind and helpful as well. 10/10 would come back! Great quick stop for breakfast.

Came by today for a bit of brunch. Jules served us, what a champion! Excellent toastie, but the service made it that much better. Would 100% go back.

A restaurant with very sweet food, all kinds of fresh and delicious sandwiches, and a reasonable price, and they also serve coffee. A fried egg sandwich is worth trying, and you can also get a glass of milk from them. I recommend trying it.

Nice cosy cafe with a meaningful history and great window seats just to people-watch. Bagels were especially nice and tasty! Wonderful service as well. Highly recommended!!

Small, alternative coffee shop with a large selection of sandwiches. Soups and small dishes are also on offer. There are few seats in the shop, but there is a very comfortable wooden bench - just right for a (very tasty!) cappuccino for three.

What a wonderful experience. I looked in through the door on a rainy Wednesday and got a good feeling about the place. Bought two rolls which were as good as I've ever tasted. Super fresh and tasty. Highly recommended.

This is honestly the BEST little cafe in Edinburgh!! Amazing coffee, tastiest sandwiches, home-made soups that fill you up and the friendliest service from the staff! If you're nearby, I definitely recommend stopping by this gorgeous cafe!

This is a very small restaurant with friendly staff and excellent breakfast food. I added bacon to my omelette roll and it was a generous portion of bacon, unlike back home in the States where you’re lucky to get one full slice added to your sandwich. I think we’ll go back tomorrow.

One of the places I miss the most not living in Edinburgh anymore and I will never miss an opportunity to grab lunch from here. Great choices, great food, great all round. I’m hungry just writing this review.

The staff in Bobby’s were really lovely and welcoming and the food was even better. We tried a few of their bagels which were to die for and were brought to us really quickly. There’s lots of choice and many snack and drink choices available. Everything is really inexpensive for how great the quality is! We sat on the tables outside and enjoyed soaking in the sun. I definitely recommend if you’re in Edinburgh!

Best soup and best coffe from edinburgh

This place is a bastion of Edinburgh’s cafe scene. Friendly service from Colin and Craig, a great range of sandwiches and drinks, and a prime location. Every time I go here I’m reminded of the nice differences you get from an independently owned and run sandwich place. I’d recommend to anyone.

Don’t sleep on this place, great service and the breakfast bagels hit the spot. The omelette bagel (w sriracha), you’re welcome!

Cosy place perfect for a quick breakfast. Food was delicious and servers were quick and friendly. Only minor issue was the size of the place, but that's to be expected and it was still a good feed.

PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE! Such a bad place and a very rude server, never saw that in my entire life. If you want to start the morning with a bad vibe, go ahead and buy from this place. First of all the guy was p****d off just because we did not know the difference between 2 types of "ciabatta", he just refused to respond to us to a question regarding"breakfast ciabatta " then he stormed out and left us alone before the counter. Then said "whatever mate, choose what u want and that will be done" I would never, ever in my life spend a single penny for something, regardless of the taste or the quality, if the people that you encounter are so rude and impolite. Note : the name of the guy is Collen or something like that. Such a rude person, ruined our day.

Stopped into Bobby’s for a quick breakfast since it was one of the few places open early. We had amazing service and great food. We ordered a cream cheese bagel, bagel with bacon and cheese, 2 bacon rolls, 2 chai lattes, a regular latte and a cappuccino. Everything was delicious and not too expensive. Definitely the place to stop in for a quick bite and great service!

Food was amazing, one of the best toasted panini I’ve ever had! It’s also definitely one of the cheapest cafes we ate in, all weekend! The owner was very nice. Highly recommend. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Bacon was lacking any real bacon. Felt like packaged crispy bacon strips put in a burger bun and given out as a classic Scottish morning roll. Very disappointed. Areas to improve would be to not microwave the bacon, get fresh morning rolls. Learn from the customer. X

We popped in here before our walking tour and was pleasantly surprised. Our food was delicious and bought to us in record time. Staff were excellent and polite. Great location too, round the corner from the graveyard.

It has an amazing location just behind the museum. The interior is really cozy! Just a warm cozy Scottish vibe that Ive always wanted. As a New Yorker I’m always apprehensive of bagels outside of the city, but Bobby’s bagels are good! Even though it’s just a plain bagel, it came out warm and soft with equally soft smoked salmon and cream cheese. Cute cafe with window seating and cardamom coffee!

My experience was really nice. Filling snacks. Vegetarian options are available. I had a bagel and a sandwich both were really good and I was full after having both. Not very expensive. Worth it. Do give it a try.
